I have only had Startbucks once since I started working there. And that was just so I could not feel guilty about sitting in one of their plush chairs at Barnes and Noble.

The Art Fiesta at Mesa Fiesta

My next Art Event is this Saturday 11/15/08 at the Mesa Fiesta Mall. message me if you need a link to the address and map. The event will be at the pavilions from 4-8pm. It is a family oriented affair, so you can bring your kids.This one has nothing to do with the East Vally Art Guild, so I do not really know what to expect and I do not know anyone involved as of yet. I am however hopeful that the closer we get to the holidays, the more likely that I sell something.

I find that I enjoy Iris' work because of all the really interesting, almost spiritual things I see when I look at one of her pieces. It is like cloud gazing. She also writes poems to go with them. Since my last entry we have gotten a new kitten. Her name is Serendipity. We call her Psycho Sera for short. She is a Russian Blue and completely fearless. My grown cats are scared of her...lol She had kennel cough, but is better now.

I got bit on my left hand by something (spider we think) while doing yard work Tuesday night. My hand is still a little swollen. I have been icing and massaging the site, which seems to have helped. No job + no insurance = no doctor.

My watercolor class starts Monday night. I am super stoked about that. I am going to be pinching pennies to buy all the supplies for it though. I have the whole starving artist thing going for me now. Seriously.

I have started asking my friends to pose for some stock photos. I did get a few to volunteer. But have not had any time to do anything yet. They will be taken by my hubby and will be my exclusive stock.

I have been in a funk the last few weeks as far as feeling like painting goes. I did finish one a while back that I have not added on here yet. I always wait for it to get to my personal website first. I have about 5 that are serious (acrylic) pieces, that I just have not felt like working on. Hopefully my watercolor class will kick me in the pants.

We met there to check it out, then we went out for drinks. We ended up having dinner instead, but it was fun.
My Husband has been my official ringmaster lately telling me I should be painting and giving me ideas for paintings. He is so cute. My old job did not usually leave me in a mind set that allowed me to paint, but now I have no job other than to paint. I'm a lucky girl.

Okay, so most of you know that my husband has been deployed since March. What you do not know is that he was suppose to be home this past Saturday... Still waiting. He is able to call me every day or so, so we have been in contact. He is now thinking he will be home sometime this week. We have a lot going on right now. We have plans that begin at around 4am staurday the 14th. If he is not home by then, we will be in trouble. We rented a cabin in CO for the entire week. It is a 14 hr drive... Not refundable. Friday (the 13th, ooh scary)is my last day at work. I will be attempting to get on with Arizona State University, so I can go to school there for a more reasonable fee. I will be going for a degree in art education. If i can not muster being a professional Artist, then at least I will be able to teach art and be around it all the time. Art is one of the few things that makes me happy, I never tire of doing it or just looking at it. Anyway do to my impending unemployment status, we feel it would be really really bad to just eat our vacation money. So I am sitting here at work... counting the hours to unemployment, waiting for my husband to return. I am anxious, excited, nervous and not sleeping very well. All in all though I am feeling much less stress in this situation than I would have say a year ago. A year ago I would have been ill over this. So much change and unknown. Maybe I have matured. Maybe it is that I am doing this for the right reasons. Or it is just time, time to do what makes me happy... Sorry this seems to have ended up being a lot longer than I thought. Anyway, here I sit, waiting to exhale.

4. I am a crazy cat lady who stumbled upon a man who digs that. We have been married almost 8 years and we still write each other love poems.
