a new year of teaching art to young people is beginning... and my governement continue to decrease the number of teachers in french national schools...I wonder what is their goal...Save some money ? make people stupider ? or just help big private schools to be even richer than they already are ?

Education is not a consumable good...It's a way of building a society , a culture. If you sell schools to corporations , you sell kids 's life with them, it's as easy as that.

But who cares? The only thing that matters is for kids to understand that buying things is the most important thing they 'll do in their empty little lifes...and they 'll try and try again to get richer in order to.

Culture = loss of time

But again this year, I'll try to make this affirmation false ^^

I'm french, and proud of it. In fact, i work for my country as an art teacher. I'm absolutely choked by the words of our so-called president Nicolas Sarkozy, wich i did not vote for. How can I teach the respect of authority when the supreme authority of the state speaks like the most dirty mobster?
This guy is a living insult to democracy and culture... something like Bush but without the overwelming power... He will certainly apologize for his behaviour but i'm pretty sure he'll never really mean to.
So... the less i can do is to apologize to the world for being of the same nationality than this prick. And also assure you that french people are, for the most of them, kind and polite people

Merry Xmas to all deviants here ^^ . I use to be a pure atheist but since i'm with a catholic (and wonderful) girl, i'm more and more interested by religion... Of course , since i am an art teacher, i know the bible, and even other books like Coran. But i was born and raised in the idea that religion is bullshit (my grand father was a communist)

So ... happy birthday Jesus. i really love the idea that god choose to be a man to bring his message to us. To live our lives, maybe to experience what it's like to be mortal, weak and easily tempted (wich happens to jesus a couple of times). I also agree with the non violent and peacefull message of the guy...

but i still have some difficulties to accept the idea of an overmighty an loving God that keep on closing his eyes when kids are beaten or even raped by adults (it's only an example)....i mean .... isn't it SMITING time when this kind of horrible things happens? I know that god want's to keep us free to be and act as evil as we want .... But what about the kid in the story above ? what about HIS choice?...

Since last wednesday, there's a railway strike in france, especially in the suburbs of Paris where I live. I'm traditionaly as supportive as it can be with it, since it's very common in my country as Stephen Clarkes said it in his books, and also because i'm a firm socialist.

But I begin to be a litle annoyed and simply exhausted by the whole thing. yesterday, It took me 3 hours an a half to rich my house... To explain why people are striking is hard....because it's a typically french problem.

Some workers , especially in the railways, have a different and very attactive system of retirement, since SNCF (national company of railway) has been a national business. They want to keep it; government wants to equalize all the systems.

This is only a part of a larger question: How long people have to work to have a suitable retirement ?

I've just finished the main quest of ES 4 Oblivion, I like to take my time when I play. Now , I'm turning the game into a Sims-like thing, re-decorating my house with trophys and stuff ^^. The Elder Scrolls series are definitely what's closest to paper role playing! By the way, If there are some DnD fans, I am too. My next victim shall be Overlord or Two worlds (If the damn thing finally comes to our old continent).

My favorite oldies games are the following:

Wonderboy 2 (on sega's master system)
Populous (the first....simple and creative)
Baldur's gate (OMG can't tell how many Characters I've created on this)
ES 3 Morrowind ( I spent about 300 hours on it)
SuperMario world on SNES (one true masterpiece)

In France, this is the end of school... And as usual, lots and lots of bad students will continue to fail every day of next year instead of being re-oriented. The french system forces almost every children to keep school 'til they are 18, even if they don't have the level or the potential, or the will.
The idea seems to be good: give access to culture to every one...But the results are catastrophic. Because when you have 9 or 10 kids in a class who don't want to work or learn their lessons , you have to keep every one at a low level, and so, every one is learning too slow. Most of these bad students can't work in the actual system, and it would be a good thing to create other structures, adapted to them.
But the french mentality tends to believe the illusion that every one is equal, wich is not true. So, teachers and students are in the same old and rusty boat, but the boat is sinking....

My life has recently changed in a lovely but violent maner. I was asleep a year ago and now I feel like if someone woke me up with a bucket of water in the face^^ The feeling is quite cool but sometimes hard to take...

This someone is a very important person to me, a creative, clever and sweet woman. I hope I love her the way she deserves. Now i'm awake, I begin to see all the things I Have missed during my sleep. And the most important of these things is art, wich has been my passion for a long time.

I'll post here all the things I'll draw or paint :illustrations, cartoons, roughs or sketches. Some of them will be fan art, others original works, others ...well you'll see...
