got my new laptop, got my scanner to work and now i just need to find where i stashed my copy of photoshop and i'm back in business...

okay, so here is the dealio
came home today(friday) from work ready to upload all my new art work and work on some new stuff and YAY! my laptop died taking all of my files and drawins and musice and EVERYTHING with it

so with no other choice i went out tonight and got a new hp laptop with the dreaded windows vista (i was planning for a new computer anyways but not for anothercouple of months) O_o
don't know if any of my stuff will work on this new computer, which means i may be without a scanner tablet printer etc.... well not a printer at least, i lucked out with the back to school sales and got one free with the purchase of my laptop.....
however this comes at a most inopportune time as i just joined kung -fu to get healthy and have VERY little cash flow....
i can't even open commisions for drawings and sketches because all my samples were on my other laptop waiting to be up-loaded...
so yeah i've lost about 5 years worth of work if it can't be retreved... *sighs*
worst of all i can't afford to go to fanexpo in to anymore and i was soooo looking forward to visiting in the AA, sooo sorry sweety! we'll just have to get together ourselves sometime, i soo had some awsome pics done to show you!

GOOD EVENING LADIES AND GENTS!

Anime North 2008 was a BLAST!
awsome time with friends got to meet ppl from DA my booth in the AA did better than expected for my first time and my table mates were awsome!
and were beside me you should check them out, awsome artists and soooo nice!

As of this week i will also be opening my Etsy shop [link] so spread the word and check it out yourself for goodies!

if you see something you like or would maybe like it custom made let me know feel free to drop me a note!

i will also be opening commissions a journal with prices etc will follow in the next couple of weeks, if you would like something sooner again feel free to drop me a note.

hello all!

yes i know dropped off the face of the planet you can kick me later!

right now i need some help!
calling out to all deviant photographers (and non really)
if any of you reside in the wonderful New York City i am looking for photos of the city for a web comic that i will be basing there!

the type of stuff i'm looking for are everyday street shots of different parts of the city,
and some panoramic stuff like the skyline at night, sunset that sort of stuff.
a big one would probly be central park during the day a ther are some rather crucial sceens that willl take place there.

i really do need the refernce photos so i'm hoping you guys can help me out as i won't be able to visit New York for another couple of months and want to get this project under way, before i decide i'm not good enoughto do it!

Good day all!
Sorry for the long absense. been getting a custome to my new life as i am now a graduate of my program and working full-time in my chosen field. life is very different now working 7:30-5pm mon-fri unfortunately my drawing has been set on the back burner which i'll be changing as of now. i've been catching up on some personal projects and commissions for ppl and i think i'm finally caught up enough to start dedicating more time to DA. starting with this next challenge!

Well THIS will take me forever, but then again it just might be the motivation and challenge that i need!

The Rules:

1. Make 100 pics each pic having a theme listed below. Each pic should have ONE and only ONE theme to it, for it to count.

it's finally here, the end of my student career *does vigorous happy dance*
soooooo happy!
getting used to the new journal format (I'm subscribed now thanks LC )
hopefully i'll get the hang of it soon, but me likey!.......

i graduate this year (hopefully that doesn't jinx things )
no full time employement in my field as of yet, but i'm not bothered by it too much, i'm still looking and in the meantime i have a job that will be giving me full timeish hours and some flexibility.....

next goals to check off my list:

<+> MORE drawing much much more, getting a little rusty

anyhoo, little update on life:
less than 6 weeks left until graduation, working hard to pass everything and still stay sane
looking for that full time job I'll need come may
didn't get the artist alley booth at anime north due to technical difficulties! (grrrr)
therefore, entering a few contests to try get one, but really happy to go have a fun weekend, dressed up n' stuff.

deadlines for this year, there are a couple projects that I started that I will finish by the end of the year.
also I WILL draw a graphic novel by the end of this year, the story is almost finished writing and soon I'll start on scenery sketches and characters, don't necessarily need to publish this one by the end of the year, simply want to have one drawn give myself a sense of achievement and good learning experience.
also once my job situation is more secure I will become a deviant subscriber and do some funky custom stuff for my page.


I think that is all for now, until the next transmission, I'll try posting some new stuff.

but the list just keeps getting bigger too! i don't know what it is, maybe the weather, all that snow is making my creative juices gush! ...(maaaaaan i'm gonna need a mop soon! argh)

i'm not about to say i'm immune to the thoughts of "wow i'm really a bad artist compared to.." or "they're so much more talented than i am.."
but i will say that i have come to a point in my "creative carreer" where i draw for myself rather than the compliments of other, if i hadn't made this choice i may have never taken up pencil and pad again after a couple of rather brutal regections from art colleges/studios. i actually refused to draw for more than 2 years, ironically enough they were the worst 2 years of my life. once realized that the drawings i drew only need to make me happy for the sake of making me happy, life became far more enjoyable artistically. not that i am saying i don't appreciate the complements from others, but i far more appreciate the kinds of comment stating improvement in my work, because this means i'm acchieving my goal of improving, rather than the"oh i'll just say it's cute cause she posted it".
i know this is gonna sound sappy or down right stupid to some but i put my emotions into what i draw and i know i'm pleased with a piece when i am excited to finish and share it because if it can egnite the same emotion in the viewer i've learned something. for these above reasons that my be confusing to you i whole heartedly thank you and commend your courage in your statements of honesty. NEVER appologize for the thruth of yourself, people that alienate you because of your views..... well i don't understand that, but that's just me, views are ment to be heard and accepted and rejected without alienation or spite.
well that turned into something alot longer than i planned! lol
anyways LC in my eyes you are an artist whether you think so or not and for that and many other reasons, i luv you to pieces!

veeeeeeeery exciting......... and terrifying all at once.
been doing alot of little doodle type drawing over the last little while, though school has proven to take of more of my life than expected. my social life has been near negative numbers and my "me" time has been next to zero, but it will be over soon.

i'm hoping to remember to scan in some of the little things i have drawn over the past couple months today to get them up on hte site so you can tell me how horrible they are!

really i'm looking forward to getting some of the stuff i want to bring to anime north 2007 with me done and get a few other projects on the go.......

last 9 days of mayham at the college, between due dates and exams i don't know if i'm gonna be totally sane at the end of it all.......

mostly drawing although i must admit i've taken a liking to loom beading as well, i'll have to post some pics of the beadwork when it's done......
anyway, slowly getting off topic.
over this week end i hope to not only catch up on school work but also upload some stuff i've been working on to keep me from going crazy at school: one is a genie drawing i colour with my eautiful markers the othe the first episoide in a series of comical one page manga-style skits i like to call "Life as a College Student" i've already got the first skit penciled so all that's left is inking and colouring aaaaaaaannnd VOILA` posted for you're viewing pleasure
topics of this comic strip if you so choose to call it thus will be things i've done, would like to some days do and things that just seem to happen to me in my everyday excursions throughout the college campus.
i figure it's a good way to vent and also improve my comic/manga drawing skills, a win win situation if ya ask me lol!

one last thought on this is yes what i decide to draw may offend some of the people i am in class or hang out with due to the nature of the situations presented in the comic strip however i do NOT appologize your name will not be used and if a character resembles you we'll that's because i take reference from my everyday life to create stuff so deal with it if you wanna bitch at me feel free to do it in person on the phone via e-mail or whatever you want i am not lashing out at anyone in particulal but simply putting a slap-stick spin on every day life.

1. totally and helplessly addicted to DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) kinda lame, yeah i know....

2. i am absolutly and utterly terrified of the opposite sex for reasons beyond my comprehention it's almost like a clostrofobia in reverse, as long as we're in large groups like at school i'm fine little ansi but that's it, if it's one on one things get to the point where i can't breath and almost pass out, it's quite frustrating stupid phobias...........

3.some days i'm so rapped up in the comics i read and write that i don't know which life is the real one

4.i'm an organizational freak to the point of compultion.... yet my room looks like the closets threw up! lol

5. the ability to carry on a arguemnt on how a stick figure can develop the best defensive super powers on a sticky note ........ all i can say was it wasn't that great of a lecture that day!

6. i keep a roll of duct tape in my car at all times just in case i need to "take care" of somebody ( apparently i have many godfather moments, so i'm told..... fogetabaoutit)
