That's right, I'm taking requests. To make a folio, you see.

I'll create anything as long as I've done something similar before. Colorings and recolorings are what I consider myself best at, but will by no means restrict myself to such simple things. Full-body drawings from scratch are what I consider myself worst at, of what I've done before, but don't be cautious of requesting that if that's what you want.

My only condition (which I can think of at the moment) is that you must give me a time-limit. I spent half a year on ~Ciroton's piece largely because he didn't set a time to finish by.

EDIT: Blargh. No responses after a week. Oh well; I'll still be accepting requests until I say otherwise. :/

Gratuitously copied from the journal of , here is a message I think everyone should read. No, I don't think everyone should copy it and make it a devmeme. Devmemes suck.

Anyways...

Communication is - get ready, I'm going to surprise you - two sided. Too often someone says something for the purpose of making a statement instead of delivering one. That is, you might say whatever makes the most sense to you and then lean back and nod to yourself, pleased with how you explained things, while the other person still doesn't know what a kappa is and why you are pulling out his intestines through his anus.

Although I've just claimed that there are two sides, it still remains that you are only in control of your own. What I am saying is that your responsibility in a conversation is to try to communicate your thoughts in a manner that makes sense to the other party, without relying too heavily on their ability to magically understand where you're coming from. Don't just sit there and repeat the same things over and over again and wonder why your listener doesn't get it. Try something else, for goodness' sake! Simply spamming a person with the same words is as smart as typing "DO SOMETHING" onto your computer console a hundred times and then giving up in frustration and blaming your OS.

There are several things that can be stopping your words from making sense to the other person. First thing to check is: are you speaking the same language? I'm serious. If you're going to speak to someone in a language that isn't their native tongue, consider the fact that there will be gaps in vocabulary and misunderstandings may occur when words are being internally translated, if at all. If necessary, dumb it down.

Also be aware that your listener may be using a different definition of a word than you are, and with it, different implications. This can also be the source of a lot of arguments (many times people do not realize that they agree and are actually fighting about two different things). Be sure the both of you know what you're talking about. If the same issues keep getting brought up, it's likely the two of you are not talking about the same thing.

Oh yeah, you can also help a conversation (or argument) move along by actually addressing the points the other person brings up. If you keep downplaying them or pushing it aside in favor of your own more important point, the person you're talking to will feel you aren't listening and will keep bringing it up until both of you are annoyed. Deal with the matter. You don't even have to agree - just acknowledge that you've heard and understood what someone has been trying to tell you. So much of a fight is just two people trying to be heard over each other.

This is getting quite lengthy, so I think I'll cut it off here. What I'm basically suggesting is that you cater to your listener - talk so that they understand, and digest what they say. Don't speak just to hear your own voice, unless you are a beautiful singer.

Also... noting down the things I want to get done soon.

*Dev ID
*New avatar
*the picture I wanted to get done before Cadenza, but didn't finish yet.
*Tatek

So many people use "Xmas" as a secular version of "Christmas" it's not funny. I would like to start by saying one reason why this idea is stupid: The word "christ" in Greek starts with Χχ (chi), and this has been moved into the English language as Xx (ecks).

ie. Christmas and Xmas MEAN EXACTLY THE SAME THING.

Next: The commercialisation of Christmas and why this is not necessarily a bad thing.

As I see it, Christmas - December 25th - is two holidays rolled into one. The one which most people celebrate is the older, and more interesting one. It is what I deem "the secular Christmas". This Christmas is everything you know about Christmas except for what the other holiday pertains to. This other half is "the Christian Christmas", and is, in its entirety, going to church to celebrate the birth of Jesus (which, mind you, was not really in winter anyway. Try spring.). Yes, even the spending time with your family for a day thing is part of the secular Christmas.

Related to this, I always see decorating anything with the scene of Jesus' birth very trite except when in or in front of a church, as odds are the scene was bought - a tradition of secular Christmas.

...Gah; I've got more I could say, but I'll leave it 'til later. I've got stuff I need to do now.

EDIT - My more stuff to say (Or at least some of it):

If you celebrate the secular Christmas (ie. the one with all the presents and family togetherness), then please, PLEASE don't confuse it with the Christian Christmas. The reason you celebrate the secular Christmas is _completely_ different from why you celebrate the Christian one. I mean, sure you may celebrate them because that's just what you've done all your life, but really, when you get down to it, the Christian one celebrates the anniversary of someone's birth (who, as I see it, may or may not have existed in the first place anyway) 2000+ years ago, while the other is even older, and has distinctly pagan ritualism at its origin (which later, before Christianity stole the day, evolved into a day of family togetherness as well).

Ah yes, and my next point: "Happy Holidays"

Average Christians don't think it gives enough due credit to Christmas

Most Non-Christians do not find offence at being wished "Merry Christmas", atheists and theists alike.

The politically correct are being asses thinking that the above is not true.

.'. Call it Christmas, Xmas, or whatever particular holiday you personally celebrate, or don't call it anything at all, but if you say Happy Holidays purely because you don't want to offend anybody or leave anybody out, you're an idiot.

That is all. </rant>
