I can't tell if I feel inspired, or if it's just desperation to create something that I feel I can attach myself to.
I started college last monday, and I love it. I can stay out passed dark (my parents wouldn't let me!) I finally get to extend my photography skills into the medium of..dundundun, photojournalism! I am on staff at my school newspaper, doing photography.
(Also meaning I get to use the Nikon d1X. (Which I was totally pumped about, I've used film SLRs, but never digital.)

So, I really don't know what to say.
I'll post things (if I feel they're worthy, if not I may still post them..I don't know, it depends on how I feel.) as they come along.
One of the upsides to living in a rural area as opposed to the suburban and urban areas I've been in my entire life, is the chance to explore rural photography.

I'm sorry to inform you, but art's not about being the "best", and it's not always about realism, or pretty things. Perhaps you're familiar with Marcel DuChamp's "The Fountain", if not, I recommend you look it up. Art's about expression, not necessarily about talent.
So what if you're "better" than somebody: At least they're doing it for the right reasons.

For the second time since I've had this dA account, I bring good news.

I won a regional photography contest for high school students (1st place), the one that I inevitably dedicated to my late friend, Phillip Kirkeby. It was a black and white digital photo titled "Isolation", with a girl in a white dress isolated (as the name suggests). I had it posted here on dA not too long ago, but had to remove it because I had a hard time with art theft on that one particular piece. (I had problems with Homophobia Kills I, too. II is doing better.)

I'm working out on how we're going to pay for SVA, but it's in a BEAUTIFUL location. It's only a few minutes away (walking distance) from the famous St. Patrick's' cathedral in NYC. It's down 23rd street, and I'm hoping it's going to work out
