I need some feedback please.

My book, The Exotics, is being revised. The new addition will have some new images that follow the theme of the book, but were taken after the first publication. I will be including one of these Emperor scorpion images, but I need help deciding which one.

All feedback and suggestions will be appreciated.

Is anybody else having problems with journals?

When I read somebody else's journal, the journal history and poll boxes overlap the journal page covering some of the text. It has only happened the last few days, but it is really annoying. Anybody else find this? Any solutions?

After 9 long years Jenson Button was yesterday crowned the FIA Formula One World Champion.

I just wanted to post a journal to say congratulations. You deserve it, and a fighting drive with lots of overtaking maneuvres is just the job to silence the critics.

I finally got round to editing some more images of the Bournemouth Airshow today. I must say I am REALLY pleased with some of the shots I got, the Royal Navy Black Cats in particular. The Red Arrows are next up on the editing list, followed by the Spitfire and P51 Mustang, and then the Vulcan bomber. Enjoy the images, your feedback is welcomed and valued as always.

Hopefully doing some new portraiture soon, which should be up here, also going to Bournemouth Airshow later this month, fingers crossed for some decent shots of the spitfire.

Danni and I have also inherited a few more exotics over the last few days. I have picked up two new tarantulas, a Velvet Mountain Beauty (Euathlus sp.), which is absolutely gorgeous, and a Mexican Red-leg (Brachypelma emilia). I will hopefully get some pictures of these when they settle in a little. Today, we also adopted a new bearded dragon (Pogona vitticeps), it is only around 6 months old, and he is quite a lovely little character (if a little jumpy at the moment) with some lovely markings.

A great day's powerboat racing. I took 1250 images and am slowly filtering out the duds, and picking my favourites. I have put a few up from the 150hp class for now. More will undoubtedly be going up shortly.

I also have a shoot of my adult female ghost mantid to edit, and a shoot from Chester Zoo. So I will be busy the next few weeks.

Everybody look at this image please. This is a Sand Cat, it is a wild cat and they are not kept domestically. So.... the interfering smartass that reported it as a miscat and had it moved to Domestic Animals (this is the second time now) actually doesn't know what he/she is on about. Trying to be smart only works if you don't make yourself look like an unknowledgable tit in the process.

I have applied to dA to have this moved back AGAIN.

Just a little word on dA though, this has been moved before and after an appeal it was moved back to Wild Animals, so dA obviously decided that it is a wild animal last time, so why oh why did it even get moved this time? I understand that dA staff probably get a lot of reports of miscats but surely it would be beneficial to look at the deviation in question first, and then decide if its a miscat, rather than moving it automatically, and then if the report was invalid having to move it back again.

If anybody thinks my deviations are miscats then note me and I will discuss the matter.

Sorry for the rant but this pissed me off the first time, so you can imagine how fed up I am now it has been moved AGAIN.

To the person who reported it (who probably doesn't even watch me, but just in case), do you feel a little silly now? Do you feel a little less intelligent? Do your research first next time. This is a WILD animal.

I picked up my new Checkered Garter Snakes yesterday and I am completely in love. I'm pretty sure one is male, and one is female, but I haven't had chance to have a proper look at the third yet, I'm guessing female from what I've seen. Maybe I might have some luck with breeding (Danni and I are already breeding two of our Corn Snakes).

I should hopefully have some images up soon.

Banda, Paignton's female Sumatran tiger has given birth to 4 cubs! They should be on show in about 4 to 6 weeks so expect lots of photos. I can't wait.

Well we now have the internet up and running, so I may have to sort through some of my images from the last month and get them up. Quite a few of my herps, and also a theatre promo shoot that was quite interesting.

Lots of exciting things going on at the moment (at least I think they're exciting). I have started a new enterprise photographing pet herps for owners. Lots of photographers and studios photograph dogs and cats and 'fluffy' pets, but I don't know of any that offer herp portraiture. I also figure that herp owners that would be interested would prefer if the photographer had experience with handling herps, so I should be a good choice. Some positive interest so far so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Danni is volunteering at the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth and they seem keen to have some of my prints in their gift shop, especially images of the well known and loved characters such as Snorkel (Loggerhead Turtle) and Rocky (Giant Pacific Octopus). So that's a good chance to do some more photography that I will enjoy and get paid for it.

Hope everybody's okay, there's some great work knocking about on dA at the moment, I'm hoping to see much more from you all. Take care.

Danni and I moved into our new flat last week, which is why we haven't been online much. We're hoping to get online this week, and then we should be up to full activity again (I already have hundreds of messages to wade through!).

I bought Danni a Carolina Corn Snake, he is called Boon, after a Brian Froud creature.

I have a new Leucistic Texan Rat Snake. Leucism is a condition characterized by reduced pigmentation in animals. Unlike albinism, it is caused by a reduction in all types of skin pigment, not just melanin. He has been called Indra, after an Indian serpent god.

And of course we still have Tilly, our Veiled Chameleon. All three are around 6 months, so still fairly small.

I have some more wildlife images to go up over the next few days. Some nice new primate images, as well as some UK wildlife. I must say it was a nice change to be out of the zoos and photographing in the wild. Seeing your native species is something that I don't think a lot of us do in the UK, I think a lot of people find the biodiversity in this country dull compared to the more exotic species found in zoos. I am the opposite. I saw Treecreepers for the first time ever at the end of last week, and I got some good images, and I found it more thrilling than most of the trips to the zoo that I have. I wish I had more time to get out into the wild, but maybe after my uni course is finished I may get the chance to do more. Until then I will be visiting the zoos as usual, and striving to get better and better images of the species I regularly photograph.
