It's been a while. Also known as a year. I've been checking my messages regularly, but beyond that I haven't particularly made time for art of my own doing beyond classes and assignments and whatnot.

I'm in Chicago now. Applied only to one school, the Illinois Institute of Technology, and was accepted. So I'm attending as an architecture student.

My greatest accomplishment, however, is that I met someone last September. We officially became a couple after about a month, so our one year anniversary is in November. Long story short, I love him and we'll be spending the rest of our lives together. <3

I'm procrastinating like a pro at this point, but I don't plan on taking much longer on here. Assignments to do... Sleep to enjoy...

I have a new camera now... My own, technically, even if it was parent-paid. There will be photography to show for it when I find myself downtown with time on my hands instead of shit tons of work. But work is good. School work means I'm in college. Finally... Out of the house, in a dorm room with a thankfully good roommate (lucked out on that one I did!) experiencing the ups, downs, and turn-arounds of life 800 miles from "home"... But if home is where the heart is, then it's only 700 miles... because my love lives outside Atlanta, not Opelika... As much as I've.. we've been through recently, I don't think I could be happier. ^^

Is anyone actually reading this?

Among other news and such, there's a chance I'll be heading that way (Portland, Oregon) this time next year for a few days of much deserved vacation and possibly a visit to a certain deviant--I don't even know if he watches me...

In any case, there's more going on in my life than a non-definite trip across the country in a year.

For instance!
-New car
-New cell phone
-Quit job
-New printer/scanner/copier (it's very pretty)
-New desk
-Brother moved out
-New kitchen counter tops
-New front porch (pending)
-New school year

That's the bulk of it. I'll give details. Ask if you want to know more about anything. In the same order as above:

-2000 Honda CR-V. Very nice. My choice. I <3 it and have thanked the 'rents for it many, many times.
-My purchase. It's nice. Twas cheap, and kind of shows. I'm paying for it entirely--the plan and all. I don't care at this point. It works.
-Had to quit because of band/school. I still go back and visit them at the pharmacy. ..Mostly just Beth.
-HP PSC 1510. Refurbished, great price. Had an issue with the provided color ink cartridge. Replaced. Works great. Will take off to college and charge people for copies/scanning/etc.
-Gave brother the old one when he moved out. Display model, discounted price. Too big for room. Can make modifications to make better.
-Nik's in an apartment with his best friend and said friend's girlfriend. And said friend's girlfriend's daughter. (Side note: Said brother is now engaged to his girlfriend. Wedding is far off. Years, at least.)
-Laminate. Light brown is the primary color. Stone-type pattern with hints of blue. Will eventually get back splash with blue tile to compliment--my choice. ^^
-Porch has not been started yet. Pictures will arrive when it has. Waiting on contractor to finish a job or two first. Good price. Adds massive value to the house. Said house is looking better and better.
-Senior year. Finally. Will apply to colleges in next month or two.

ACT score, first try, no preparation: 30.

SAT score, same circumstances: 1810 (I think.)
Math score: 590. Needs to go up 110 points or more to get into college I want to get into: Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art.

It has been ranked number one and I don't want to think too much about it. My heart isn't completely set on it. There are other options. I have backups. Cooper pays for itself, though. Literally. There are no tuition costs--it's that good of a school.

But Pratt has been ranked highly. That's the first backup. There are others, but I don't know their credentials. I'll check before applying.

Upcoming plans:
-Retake SAT up to three times to increase math score.
-Attend wedding of cousin in Chicago; Nov. 8th.
-Finish reorganizing room/life.
-Stop staying up quite so late.

On that note, I say bonne nuit! (That's "Good night." ..I think..)

PS: Yes. I'm happy. Very much so. It's an odd feeling, to be really happy with just about everything after so long. It's a tad scary, but worth it. I hope this is good karma from all the bad I've been through over the past however-long, rather than good karma that will even out with uber-uber bad stuff that is soon to come.

Must be optimistic!

New catch phrase! "Oh well."

I've finally managed to stick with something that I wanted to. Namely, a new way of living. ...Even more... namely: I'm being very... "whatever". Life is life. Things happen. But you can't change the past, so get over it.

To sum it up, learn to say "Oh well" a bit more. It happened, it's over, end of discussion.

I still care about the important things, but life's a little easier when you don't worry about every itty bitty issue.

In other news? ...Not a whole lot. School's school. Band's band. Nothing really amazing is going on at the moment. Marching band contest on the 13th. Hopefully it'll go well. Mock trial competition for Gov't Club in November...

Um. That's as exciting as it gets, really. Few weeks ago I sped around a curve, lost control, and spun out. My fault, but someone that saw it says the truck I swerved to avoid was coming into my lane. I ended up in the opposite lane, faced the correct way (not the way I was going, though) with the right front tire on the curb. Any farther and I'd have been in the ditch. The tire popped, but reset itself and only had to be refilled. That was basically it, really. Popped the tire. I think it pulls to the left when I drive now, but that might have happened before so and I didn't notice.

It's all good, though. No ticket, no insurance claim, no ..getting grounded. Just a harsh talking to and a long school day.

Um... I can't think of anything else amazing that's happened...

ART. Right. The reason I'm on this website...!

I haven't stopped doing art, honest. I'm in an art class this semester and we're doing found object sculpture based on five definitions of a single word.

My word? Attraction.

...Oh yes. It's almost done. Mostly the assembly is needed now. I'll get you pictures when it's done.. which is hopefully soon.

...That's all! I think. Probably. I'm not re-reading this for a typo check. I don't feel like it today.

With nothing in particular, mind you. Single and mostly enjoying it, as usual.

Well, band's started, so that means school's around the corner. Junior year, high school, new and annoying dress code.

Shirts must be tucked in at all times, and if your pants/shirts/skirts have belt loops, you have to have a belt on... Crap like that that caused five students, all of which were arrested, to vandalize the school with graffiti that made sexual and racist comments, as well as "ya fag", "hail Satan", and a drawing of an ass with an arrow that said "insert he". Yes, it lacked the "re". We're guessing they ran out of paint. There was also "Fuck the dress code" at the entrance of the school. They got the science building, library, greenhouses, concession stand, dugouts, baseball building, and the band's pit trailer.

According to the principal, the damages add up to $15,000, and the students aren't coming back to school (I believe.)

According to a less than reliable source, we'll be in uniforms by January. I don't doubt it.

Otherwise?

I can drive stick shift. Yay.

I have an almost job--helping an old woman around the house, (cleaning, walking the dog, etc). Seven bucks an hour, and my own hours, so it's useful. Once school starts, I don't think I'll have much time to work for her, except on weekends. We'll see.

I need clothes. Bad. Like, I've had the same wardrobe for the past... since I've lived here. I'm running out of shirts--most, if not all of the tee shirts I have were school-gotten. Band shirts, mostly, which I've seen enough of for one lifetime. Since I have a job, I could buy stuff, but I doubt I'll find anything useful. I'm semi-planning to just start making my own clothes--mostly just pants and stuff. Especially if they make us wear uniforms. I can never find exactly what I want in stores.. At least nothing I can afford, anyway. Besides, I can probably make a new wardrobe for a fraction of the cost of buying it all. The time is the only issue, but I'll figure it out.

Other than all of that, there isn't much else going on. So there.

Is it possible?

Well, not entirely, but it might solve the migraine issue. Everything in the world seems to trigger them at this point, so giving up food seems the likely course of action.

...Or, at the very least, give up everything that isn't natural. Or organic. Or that I haven't eaten before and am SURE it won't give me a migraine, which... leaves me with anything organic or otherwise natural.

Eh, other than that? Life's okay. I need a job if I want to get back to New York sometime this summer. Likewise if I'm hitting England after graduation (two years away).

Also in need of a job if we're going to get a new car sooner or later. And since Dad's going in for shoulder surgery next month and will be out of work for two months...

Remember my list of car accidents and such that we've had over the years?

Add one more, of course! Nik and I were rear-ended Friday on school grounds. The girl behind us looked down to answer her cell phone and CLUNK.

Both cars drove away with scratches and otherwise unnoticeable off-set.. ness.

Me? Stiff neck and unhappy elbow. But a trip to the chiropractor right afterward settled all that right quick.
...Weeee. My first accident. >.>;
Let's hope it's my last.

The song.

Stupid Boy.

Keith Urban?

Been listening to it over and over for about an hour now. Because I'm that ..stupid. And I like it. And I can actually sing it, too, so... *shrug*

It's a good song. Yes...

Sorry, I've been a bit Keith crazy lately. Dunno why. It'll pass. And sorry for so many journals. I'm.. ..just.. crazy..

It has been brought to my attention that my family has bad luck with cars.

...Yes.

Seriously.

Wrecks galore.

My mom's old Nissan Stanza Wagon was rear-ended.. and then run into by a stupid kid whose mother went "SHE RAN OVER HIS LEGS!" ..Turned out that the kid and mother were both dumbasses.

That's two wrecks.

3: The Nissan Quest was rear-ended.

4: Shawn hit some dumbass (pregnant woman) that pulled out in front of him. ..In her car of course.

5: VW beetle was rear-ended.

6: VW's fender was dented and bumper ruined by a dumbass that swung out too far when backing out of the parking spot beside ours.

7: Nik killed the truck.

8: Nik hit a pothole in his Saturn and broke a few somewhat meaningless pieces off from under his front bumper. Nothing serious, but it still counts.

9: Shawn's car rolled down his driveway and tried to climb a fence post.

10: Nik was rear-ended in Mom's car with her in the passenger's seat.

..Half of those were Nik-oriented, only two his fault. ..Directly, anyway.

Yes. That's all in the past.. oh six years..

Maybe a little larger of a timeframe since we haven't had the Stanza for quite some time.

STILL.

Bad luck. And I don't have my license yet. ;.;

See how I did that? With the titles? The last one was "Fat", and now "Skinny"?.. See?

Okay, you don't get it. S'alright. I don't either.

So.. news this month!

Marching band is over. Oh. Joy.

We lost the semi final game. *nod* And there was a fight in the bandroom. And some dumbass said to one of the directors as he was walking by, "The band doesn't do anything for the football team."

Dumbass, neh? Mr. Pruitt and two chaperones almost attacked him. So fun...

In other news... Nik got rear-ended in Mum's car, mum in the passenger's seat. According to them, it was a Buick Rendezvous. One of those big SUV's. At 50 mph! There wasn't a great deal of visible damage because Mum's car is well built and stuff.. Toyota Matrix, in case you forgot. Two and a half weeks after the accident, it's now in the shop. And Mom's rental? A 2007 Chevy Aveo. Basically the same thing as the Matrix. (Five door hatchback)... So yes. So pretty...

It's been over two weeks and a claims adjuster hasn't looked at the car yet.

Remember when Nik totalled the truck? Three days later we had our insurance check.

Oi.

Otherwise... I'm bored. And am looking forward to a possible trip to New York to see fiftyfivetries for spring break. *dances*

Yes, folks. The latest diagnosis on my wrist problem is that I'm too damn flexible! Crazy, ain't it?

I'm believing it, though, so.. Goody. Diagnosis.

I suppose I could use MoeGoofie as a role model and work out my mid section at least. He's toned up quite a bit from what I've read. I'm happy for him.

And that's about all the news I want to give. I'm still alive, so deal with it..?

Yes, I deleted the rest of my journals. Just a bunch of angst. And a few good stories.
