(first of all sorry for my silly english, it's not my language, but i'll try to be at least understandable)

This is the entry for the *Thumbshare Halloween spooky contest!

I wrote it with the aim to make it as similar as possible to the old spooky tales the grandma told to little nephews... you know... don't go play in the woods or the boogeymanblahblah

*cough*

Let's start




"There is a time in the night,
when the wind growls
and the moon is bright,

the moon-chanting owls,
gem-eyes they dight,
sing about two girls in cowls

sisters and twins, for birth right
their home was the meadow,
a prairie, surrounded by shadow
so dark, never a gleam of light.

Old tales whispered of a path,
deep in the dark forest
sealed with a forgotten oath

that leads to a treasure finest,
belonged once to the King of Jath,
buried in a cave deepest.

Their childish spirit so caught
hand in hand they walked
deeper and deeper, light slowly faded,
but still wasn't any sign of the path.

But at once, with their tiny feet
they stepped on a sparkly road
white like ivory, still incomplete

"Here and there!" croaked a toad,
"too many holes for a paving so neat!"
"Look better at this slate" said a frog.

The twins sighed a rantling tweet,
The slate was a thumb nail!
All of a sudden the legs became frail,
they tried to run, but the evil was fleet.

The darkness embraced their souls
while a deep, roaring voice
"Finally i'll fill four more holes"

Their thumb were ripped off
and their souls were doff
the ThumbSawer said "don't make a fuss...
come and share your thumb nails with us"
