as i walked from the manor that eve, the birds of night seemed to head south with haste.the cool breeze against my cheeks reminded me of her winter hands upon my face.no rush in my steps as i came across the old cemetary at the bottom of the hill. i never minded passing there when i would walk.death was somethng too mysterious and pain filled for me to ever understand.a hint of mist collected over me from the moist night air like the gentle kiss of a loving mother.i could hear the creaking of that gate no one ever seems to shut.i dont think i have ever seen it shut.while i thought,it occurred to me that nobody comes here.i guess by being in the tiny dark valley people choose to forget it.overgrown with vegetation, thorned and dank.im suprised that old gate still swings at all.by the time i looked away it had passed me into memory.
some shimmer remained in the iron bars surrounding it when it rained.
my feet echoed thier scrapes into the air dragging.the musty smell of brimstone and metal passed through my nostrils turning into my own breath.
the ascending hill in front of me was always darker than the way down.an oddity with every step i'd close in on the sky.i had always figured it would get brighter.immense fields of nothing on all sides made the cemetary glow.that old cemetary no one ever comes to,for a moment, was the centerpiece.i turned away again and came to the top of the hill with heavy knees.the sky gave mercy to silhouettes of distant treelines.mist grew to raindrops and i exhaled aloud.the second valley was always harder than the first.wiping my nose with my sleeve i started my descent again.as i turned away i was taken into the dark swifty.turned again to catch from the corner of my senses a strange light emmiting below, there and gone just as quickly.alien to my mind and vision my pace increased and sweat overcame beading upon my body.every step brang my heart to pump faster and furociously.adrenaline rushed my viens thick and clotty.....
