Oh, and here's a tip for all you aspiring voice actors.. prank phone calls. Seriously, it's been the best practice for me when it comes to improv and testing out some new voices. Just make sure you *67 before you go about doing it... It may seem juvenile, but believe it or not it really helps when you're trying to discover how a voice/character reacts in a real situation.

But yeah, on the art front... sorry for posting ONE thing this whole summer, but I've just been busy with everything else. Not to mention my limited workspace at home is not ideal when compared to my options when at school.

Also, i need some good space drifting music. Been listening to a lot of Blur for inspiration, as well as The Shins, She & Him, Phoenix, The Postal Service and others... though I won't say the latter groups have helped, but it's just what I've been listening to is all. Saw Moon, that was pretty inspiring, and I watched 2001: A Space Odyssey, and saw Star Trek (the new one) a few more times, as well as watched TOS (but thats nothing new for me). In short, music, book, or film wise, if you know of anything "spacey" that could work as inspiration I'd like to know. I'll continue to look at telescope photos and drown in them.

And while I, and I believe others, found the frames to clearly show who it was I was talking about, it seemed to fly over the heads of people who were ACTUALLY DRAWN INTO THE SCENE! So, uh... I learned today that I have the ability to think I'm offending someone while they end up just laughing it off... woo hoo?

Now it's just about... 4 months? (May, June, July, August..) yeah, about 4 months until I start again here at SVA. And chances are I won't do any drawing over the summer and I'll feel the consequences of my actions come September, awesome.

Also, I went to Post Factory today (and I'll be going again this Friday), which is where they do post production for Xavier: Renegade Angel. So i got to see the upcoming episode "Damnesia You" a follow to the recent episode "Damnesia Vu" will will compile Xavier footage with fan-made submissions; it was still be edited, but none the less i was able to view most of the footage, minus audio.

So yea, that was cool. Though after seeing some of those submissions, I kind of regret not submitting anything, as I think I probably could have topped a few of them.

Yea, if you plan on watching the episode, just remember, I WAS THERE! BWAAHAHAHAHA Also got to see some work being done for a future Xavier DVD

I'd like to think I'm raising the bar above my first film in that I'm going for multimedia, in that it will incorporate traditional 2d, stop motion, and digital 2d work and may end up surpassing 5 minutes, where as my first film clocked in at 1 min and 33 seconds. Other than that.. i have about 40 pages or so of my sketchbook that need filling .. doubt any of it will end up here though

Also I finished reading The Complete Metal Gear Solid: Sons of Liberty and Watchmen. MGS was ok, if only just to see more of Ashley Wood's amazing style. UPDATE:

I'm all settled in now. Got my iTunes and Ipod hooked up. The audio is pretty good for a laptop. And the interface on the iPod is really nice, and since i got my wifi hooked u with it i can go onto the internet seamlessly. I also found some neat stuff with Google Maps, like Cartoon Network Studios .

And i finally got AIM and GameTap installed n the mac. Aim is.... ok, but its not like what i was using on PC. And gameta is performing much better here because of the better video card and processr. Though the keyboard is not optimal for Street Fighter, thats a fact!

so yeah, all is good.

The knew one, in my opinion, is much better, but it does take on a similar style, but also uses benefits of the medium, its hard to explain but w/e. i still cant name it :/ i'm thinking "ROBO - Untitled" .. but idk, it a part of what i'd like to be a set.

i currently have 2 things i have to do for school. One is redesigning a wooden puzzle, of which i have and idea for. And my block, which is a program tradition that seniors who have been in the art program from the start or w/e, we have our own block of the wall to paint.. so when i finish that i'll photograph it. yup.. hows it going with you folks? no one talks her anymore.

and i need a job, but im too forgetful to hand in my app.

also, my father bought a Mac today, our first. I'm gonna be gettinga MacBook Pro eventually for SVA this fall, but we got the iMac because 1. my dads computer he's been using is about... 8 years old, and 2. to get me used to a mac before i enter SVA in the Fall. And in the deal we gota new HP Printer/Scanner. I've been using an HP scanner for the last uh.. 4 years? its been great, so maybe eventually ill get to try out the new one and see if its any different...

should be fun ^_^

The slides came out great, but i guess thats just one of the hassles of trying to get up to $10,000 a year for college... but i dropped off everything to SVA the other day , so i can finally catch up on stuff.

For instance, i bought Ashley Wood's Zombies vs Robots about mid-December... and still havent had the chance to read it.. so im getting on that ASAP.... also, anyone know where i can find Pikmin 1 and 2, and a Wavebird? either instore, or online, but nothing expensive, or eBay.

uh what else... got some supplies yesterday. finally started to ink my comic book, its amazing how much it pops with justa little bit of ink, its great. and just black too. i'm doing it by brush though, as im more comfortable with it, so its taking up some time. But either way, dont plan to see it here until i get like a copyright or something

what else... uh, doing a little animation history "research". I got me the Walt Disney Treasures DVD of Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, its pretty interesting to see wheree Disney was at before Mickey... and anti-semitism >_>

And i also got this neat Hanna Barbera Treasury book, whats cool is that not only is it filled with history, sketches, artwork, and stuff. But within the book are envelopes and stuff, of which will contain booklets, mini comic books, cards, cels, stamps, and even masks! Its a really neat book, but it only covers like classic Hanna Barbera, Tom and Jerry to Space Ghost, but theres timeline in the book that makes mention of other works all the way up to 2007. But sadly no Adult Swim mention, so like, no Harvey Birdman.

hell thats alot of writing guess i got carried away.

Also, do your self a favor and get disc 2 of In Rainbows, its so addicting.

as to what 2008'll bring? well in the Fall i'll be in SVA, in Feb. we get Brawl! uh, MGS4, so hopefully i get a job and enough money for it and a PS3.

oh and i got my hands on disc 2 of in rainbows, so im finally busting out some Bangers N Mash.. or Bangers + Mash as they call it now...

still working on art stuff.

i got alot of stuff done in my "book" this week, as well as all of my slides are ready for the SVA scholarship..

whats with you folks? whats 2008 bringing you?

I recieved my acceptance letter from SVA (The School of Visual Arts) today for enrolling in the Animation program next fall! So look out New York!

I'm pretty psyced, being as this was the only application i actually sent out and i really wasnt impressed with MassArt or AIB 's animation programs, in fact, those schools should be damn ashamed of their programs compared to SVA.

And i've already sent out my reply w/ the $$$, so i get first dibs on housing. Now i just need to work on getting slides together and apply for their scholarship, as i can recieve up to $10,000 a year and that would greatly aid my parents.

but SVA was my top choice, and the guy was really enthusiastic about all of my work, so that made me really happy.

and in other news, just got an e-mail from Cartoon Network, turns out i won second prize in a Boondocks contest i entered last month, so i get the 40$ boxset, free! so happy

but you get 18 songs, 2 CDs, 2 Vinyl... but still i LOVE radiohead, but im not sure im willing to pay 80$ for an album.

gah! why cant they just releas all 18 songs, on a CD!!! consider the song i was pushing for the most , Bangers N Mash, is on the bonus disc............. grr!! anyone got $81 for me?
