I'm back from Iraq. Actually I have been for about a month, but it has been an extremely busy month and I have been traveling around and not updating my journals or blogs.

Thank you all for your support while I was over there.

Hopefully I will be posting some more pictures soon. We will see.

I am back at home from my mission and have a whole 6 days to prepare for my next set that should take about three months to complete. I took a few pictures while I was away, but they are all just quick snapshots of what was happening at the time; nothing of quality. This month away from home has again taught me to value the little time that I get to relax and enjoy normal activities for a change. I think that I am going to eat some popcorn, watch some movies, and sleep... a lot. I worked a lot of 22 hour days in a row (about two weeks worth) while I was away and am really starting to enjoy sleeping in. Well, I will be checking my account until the 10th, and other than the time I will be spending trying to earn a little spending money before I leave I will be checking up on this account and trying to find some models.

My leave got cut short because of stuff going on in Iraq. As you may know I am in the military and my life is very dependent on the war. I had 16 days of leave and after the third day (today) it was changed to 4 days of leave with an immediate return order.

Tomorrow I was going to drive from Salt Lake City to California and meet up with where I had all of my new studio gear shipped to and have a great photoshoot with the 7 (or possibly 11) models that I had lined up to shoot. At least none of them had to fly in or anything.

If you are one of the models that I met on DA I will be sending you a personnal note also.

I am going to be setting up a studio in Southern CA in or near Fullerton and need some models. I have three lined up already with a few more in mind, but I would like as many as possible. I need all the practice that I can get. Come to think of it I should probably send out the pics to my last models now that I am more financially stable. I kind of put that on the back burner for the past... 6 months, wow, I'm an ass.

If you want to model it is easy and fun. I would like to do nudes, but there is no pressure there. Just cruise magazines and DA model pictures that you like and save them and we can modify them to fit your strengths and my style. Model sheets help make the process a lot more productive and more fun. I will also throw a big model party, like always, after the shoot. We had a blast last time; pretty much set a new standard for parties in the area. I would say bring an overnight bag and a change of clothes but if you are modeling you will have that and more, I'm sure.

I will be in Southern CA the first two weeks of July and will probably set up the shoots all in one day. You will have privacy, so don't worry about that. I am going to set it up around as many peoples' schedules as possible.

If you do want to do it just respond to this and we will arrange from there.

I finally got my computer sut up and was able to edit and submit some of my new shots. I am happy about the responce to my work. I was starting to think that my skills would just dissappear in the time that it took me to move from one place to another.

I am happy to say that I am finally settled and living in my new house. I have all of the essentials up and running, and am unpacking more boxes every weekend. The only problem that I am having is that I don't have a dollar to my name, but I guess that is the life of many people right now and that I shouldn't complain. Oh well, I guess that money will come in time. I will just have to wait.

Well, I am working many early and late hours to be able to afford the house and food so I am going to bed to try to shake this illness that has me in its icy grasp so that I can work my 18 hour days without coughing my lungs to pieces.

OK, ok... I'm done complaining. Enjoy the new shots and I hope to be able to have time to take some more soon.

I have arived in Texas a few weeks ago and am finally out of the hotels. I have found some barracks space to hide in while I am making the final arrangements on the purchase of my first house. I am going to be in and out of the field over the next couple of weeks, but hopefully by the 15th of next month I will be living in my house and have my furniture and computer with me.

I am looking forward to having my computer set up so that I can use the advice that I have received for ordering prints and get them sent out ASAP. There is also a custom framing shop here on base, so I am going to plaster my walls with my favorite prints. Yay!

I have taken a lot of pictures over this little "vacation" that I am very eager to post, but my laptop can't handle photoshopping images that large.

Well, I'm off to bed because I'm up bright and early tomorrow for another very long day. I'll post again if anything interesting happens.

OK, so I have promised my models prints of the pictures that came out well and am in need of help. I have spent about a hundred dollars on multiple sets of prints that have been messed up by bad photolabs and my inexperience and the models have been more than patient with me, but I am starting to feel guilty.

How do I get good prints of oddly proportioned shots?

All of the prints have come back sized to the smaller proportion and have the larger proportion cut off. I have found that costco gives me the best print for the buck, but they are cropping my pictures off in crazy ways. Does anyone know how to solve this?




Also, I move on the 22nd, and will be taking a lot of pictures, but being without my computer I will probably not post any until I am moved in on or about the 10th of March. I am taking a little break en-route, so hopefully I will get tons of good pics.

I am moving, yet again. I will be very busy over the next couple of months until I get settled in El Paso. On the bright site (really) there will be much more sun in El Paso than up here in Northern California, so that means more shooting days and more nature photography. I love the desert, so hopefully you will be able to see that in the pictures that will come from there.

I am still spending my nights filtering through photos and photoshopping the ocasional one that stands out. I have pretty much given up on keeping my gallery in order at this point. I am going to recommend to DA to let us change the order of pictures. We'll see if they work on that.

I am still shooting my first nude model in SoCal on Feb 4th, and there is a chance that I have another that may come, but that all depends on if my gallery impresses her or not. I will keep you updated.

OK, some of you that have posed for me will be happy to know that I am going to spend this weekend doing nothing but working on your pictures, and those of you that are just enjoying watching me will be happy to know that I will be posting some of the pictures this weekend.

I have been so busy since I got back to my house up north and the only photoshop work that I have done was on my laptop late at night during a 24 hour shift, and my laptop reeally wasn't agreeing with photoshop. Thankfully, though, I have absolutely no plans this weekend and am very motivated to work on the pictures. I have pretty much filtered them down to the last few that I am actually going to use.

Hopefully they come out OK. This was my first time actually shooting models and feel like there is a lot more at stake.

On the bright side, though, an experienced model contacted me recently and asked me to shoot her. How cool is that? People are actually starting to know me. Anyways, I told her that I wanted to shoot artistic nudes, since I have wanted to do that for a while now, and she agreed. This is going to be so much fun. Her shoot will be on the weekend of Feb 4th, and I will immediately photoshop her pictures and get them up as soon as possible.

I have a lot of work to finish up before I rush home to play with photoshop, so I will take off. Wish me luck!

I am finally back up north, to this place that I, for some weird reason, call home. On the 22nd of Dec I will be home! Yeah! Get to see my wife and family and play with my friends and snowboard and eat real food and get fat and get drunk off my ass for new-years. So much to do and I haven't even packed yet. I CAN'T WAIT! I will return with (hopefully) great pictures of the wornderful and beautiful models that volunteered for me to shoot, and of my other random activities that I will be doing. Yay!

I am also planning to take my camera with me snowboarding at least once, so I will have a sob story about how I broke it and how I won't be posting for a while because I need to save up for another.

Well, my piece on racism got over 1000 pageviews so DA sent me a coupon to get a print account for half price. I figure that it can't hurt. I will post some of my favorites as prints and see if anyone actually buys any. It would be nice, but I'm not expecting much. I think that I will buy a couple just to have good quality prints of my favorites around the house. Wish me luck.
