Hello!

Not updated this in a long time so its well overdue. I am now attending Cleveland College Of Art & Design, studying Interactive Media and A level Photography. I'm enjoying it so far - great atmosphere and friendly people.

I've been doing lots of alternative "photography" so far in my Photography Class, We have done photograms, sun drawing and we're doing Pinhole photography on monday! Also we are going on a trip to York on friday and I should be able to get some nice shots then.

I got a new lens a few weeks ago, the cheap and cheerful Canon 50mm f/1.8. Its a nice lens for portraits but I'm not having as much fun with it as I thought i would be having - although thats mostly down to the fact i've not been out taking photo's in a few weeks either. I am doing a job for the local coffee bar Camfields and once the website is up you will be able to see the pictures. Its still under construction but here's the link for future.

I've decided to get into the holiday spirit with a special event over the week. Since i'm off for two weeks and don't have much to do, i've decided that I'm going to submit a new deviation every day of the week, on the subject of nature. This will probably all be macro shots of flowers, unless I see something better to shoot. Please support me in this! I can tell you now i'll try to give up in a few days so you better be bugging me for a new deviation every day.

I got the full Cokin adapter set and a P120 Graduated Grey filter.

Its brilliant! I really suggest you have a look at them, I wasn't too keen on them to begin with, but they're great.

Sadly, the Polarizing filters weren't in stock - so I put my name down for one. Can't wait!

Hello!

New Journal here, quite an unusual one for me too.

I dusted off my old Graphics Tablet today, thought I'd give it a go. I've always looked at people's Lineart/colourings and thought - wow. I never really thought i'd be able to do anything like that. But, to my amazement, I can do it!

Yeah yeah, not very well. BUT, for my first, I don't think its half bad.

So, from here i'm going to keep a track of my graphics work, like a mini portfolio. I guess it will get me a bit more active around here anyway! I'm gonna try to stick to 1 colouring per day/2 days. So i'll get some good practice.

Well, my time has come to take the plunge into being famous.






Not!

I'm off to the regional new program "Look North" to do an interview/section on my photography. Each month they hold a photography competition and i was invited to judge this month. So now I have to go and sort through hundreds of pictures!

I know I know it sounds like a dream opportunity - but i'm really sh**ting myself!

Wish me luck! I'll post the video on here in the coming days (if i ever make it there!)

I've recently being experimenting with High Dynamic Range(HDR) photography. I've seen some people's photo's using this technique and I've been Stunned at all of them. So, i've been trying it out!

I'm looking for a new camera. I want something that takes good quality shots, at a high resolution.

about 3500x3000 (not exact) would be about perfect.

I've been looking at the Fuji Finepix S9500 Zoom. Looks like a very good camera - pretty cheap too. I can get one for around £220 inc. postage. Which, is pretty cheap. The £200 mark is around the top end of my budget, but i'd easily add £20 for an S9500.

Anyone know any other camera's in that price range that would do justice?

My macro shot of the catterpiller was shown on Look North tonight. Unfortunatly, only people in the north-east region of England will have seen the picture. But, it was mine.
