I have worked on a few things for the event. Hopefully I'll be posting soon so more can at least think about the day. Which I must smile and say I will not be alone in celebrating. The Edgar Allan Poe Society of Baltimore will be having a bicentennial on the 17th and 18th, not to mention throughout the entire year also.

But others around the world/country will celebrate as well. Though, the most creative celebration I have learned of yet is receiving a tattoo of a raven on the day.

I of course will be celebrating in a less painful way with my beautiful glasses and drink, along with my copy of complete Poe Works. I really wish I had the leather version, it would seem more fitting at this time. But I'll be made up all prettily like a doll. (maybe a bit of Goth Lolli)

All pointing to the 31st. Though, October also brings memories of things that have once was but now have passed. Poe, Chopin, and Price are my thoughts. As I realized while reading Chopin's bio, he died ten days after Poe.....weird. Perhaps he was part of the threes curse, that celebrities and famous people follow. Enough of that already. We're in the middle of the month now and school is still going slow! It always takes over, I'm telling you. But fortunately I graduate in May. Yeah! Not to mention a few birthdays are coming up now. Maybe I'll see one of them, but I highly doubt they'll leave the Promise Land to come back to our little country circle. I can imagine, but not hoping.

Also with February came the new Coffee Shop and Bakery a couple of blocks from me. Which Alex, Luna and Ruka should come with me to when they open up if not already. Hard to read the damn sign. grrr.... I hope they have ham and cheese stuffed croissants there. Oh my gosh those are soooo good!

Well now I can have more me time. To the best of my ability anyway. All this intense crap floatin around here. I swear. Like to stick my sperm donor in the nearest hole, so he'll stop irritating people. Bloody Hell! I need to find a job or join that program and go to Japan. Sweet escape. Even if only for a year. But I wouldn't mind being a teacher's assistant. Helping teach kids English. So cute!!! But watch me get middle schoolers if I can ever do it. But I do like the concept. Though, I'm shy as hell. Bwaom! Sucks like freakin hell. I don't want to be on my own, but it may turn out that way. But i like little kids, so I think I'd do better with them.

Hey, maybe I should become a history or art teacher for primary kids.

Also with October comes the anniversary of Vincent Price (October 25) and Edgar Allan Poe's (October 7) deaths. I am not morbid, but perhaps a memorial and a reading/viewing of their works. Happily, I managed to download several of his movies on the computer. Yeah!

I had almost forgotten that tomorrow is the aniversary of his death. So sad, to have died young and with out much credit to his name. Well, this is my memorial for him.



He may have led a tragic life and seem to be from another planet, but he was one of the best writers known to man. Poet, storyteller. Beautiful either way. He made one of the best known genres, The Detective Story. Which is still popular. The man had talent. A pity that he didn't seem to believe so. Like Frederic' Chopin. Perhaps great minds have more in common then we think.

I fell in love with his works when I read his most well known poem, "The Raven." I was about 9-10. I knew I was reading some good stuff. As it got even better when my favorite actor, Vincent Price, did pretty much all movies based of his works. (Or titled)

Speaking of which Vincent Price also died in October. October 25, 1993 to be exact. He gets a memorial too, but I go off topic.

Even with all the mysteries behind his death, Poe still died tragically as well. Sadly, his works were enjoyed after his death.

We are slowly ending out poetry section of Creative Writing class. Now we're headed towards proses. Another of my favorites and specialties.

I was reading today that the first book of "the Cain saga" is on sale. I have to get it when I get money. I just don't know why they didn't release it first to start with. I mean God Child is the second half. However it works. I've been waiting like five freakin years for it to be able to have it translated, I'm not complaining loudly.

I wonder if they'll bring over some more of her tales. I did like Kaine. I thought that was so cool. Switching places with his rockstar brother. Well, it's not like the company gave him any choice really.

I really should thank Sakura-crisis for introducing me to the unknown works of Japan. I mean I had found Cain on accident on this anime mp3 page. He was a winamp skin. I looked at him in all his dark beauty and I was in awe. It was love at first sight. I WAS a little hesitant to read it when they said their was a faint hint of yaoi, but you wouldn't notice it.

I read the first book and I knew it was meant to be.

Damn. Why can't real guys be hot, dark, sexy, and mysterious? Makes us sane anime girls look crazy for being in love with paper and ink. It's presence damit! It's what we're looking for in the flesh and blood. Obviously with a few tweaks here and there since no one's perfect.

My poem got another award. I got the letter yesterday. They want to put it on one of their cd anthalogies. It's also international. I have goosebumps. It almost seems too good to be true, that it's that well liked. I hope it's real. I think I might start crying if theyjust do this for everyone. But they said they don't. I have to be positive. This is a good start. It'll be fine.

I've found a few sketches to put up here. It's a bit sad though. Since I graduated I haven't really been drawing much. I mostly spend my days writing. And with my brother's words of discouragment I'm starting to second guess my ability I guess.

To me drawing isn't about how much better one thing is to another. It's about how it makes you feel, what you see. I mean to me, the Hellsing manga is horrid. Total not my thing. Yet millions love it. Okay, perhaps I'm stretching it, but still.

I come from a family where only men can draw. I am the "ONLY" girl who can do so. I mean I've had no encouragement from my family to persue a career in art of any kind. Yet I recall my father paying for my brother to take an art class by mail. And to top it off, that was about 15 years ago. He has yet to complete it!

Yeah, where's the love there? (No I'm not hatein/jealous/green)

But I'm still hot about this one comment my brother mad to me in the past six months. I was talking about how I wasn't going to jump on the web comic band wagon. And he says good, there's already enough bad art work out there.

So what? Are you good? And by who's standards? Yours or their's.

Me? No commento.

Egh, I don't want this to become so kind of rant. In short, with all this negative atmosphere. I've seemed to have stopped drawing because I doubt myself.

Sometimes when I'm drawing something. I say it's bad and I want to cry. Great, now I'm going to become a hysterical mess.

Gosh, why am I dumping my troubles on you innocent people?
