So, I haven't felt like I've had a real winter since I moved to Texas (I was born during a blizzard, for goodness sake). Today...for the first time in -- like -- three years, I saw snow that actually stuck to the ground. And this is the Houston area o.o

Personally, I'm really happy for all my friends (and other kids!) who've never seen snow their entire lives. It was really nice, for lack of better words, to see everyone getting so excited and going outside and playing during lunch. I even heard that someone cried when they saw it snowing. I'm so happy everyone got to experience the snow!

It started off as sleet in the early morning, and it gradually got more and more snow-like, but I didn't believe it until it started to snow for real. I've missed it so much DX

Once I got home, I took pics in my three cosplays, of course!! hahaha So I'll be posting some of those soon

Hope you guys are enjoying your December so far~! I love the fall/winter time... X3

So ~Apkinesis and I went to Oni-Con yesterday for a few hours (we hardly ever stay very long at cons, lol). I went as Canada (military uniform) from Axis Powers Hetalia! I knew the risks of dressing as a Hetalia character, and I ended up being right... hahaha XD

It was soo much fun cosplaying as him~! I ended up having to ditch ~Apkinesis in the registration line because I got kidnapped by other APH cosplayers, and I spent most of my time with them and at the cosplay meet up/photo shoot, which was my first one. It was the first time I cosplayed as a popular series, too. I loved when Russia cosplayers would walk up to me and turn to a nearby Belarus and say "Look, it's the comfy chair!" So awesome.

I didn't take any pics, but there were a lot of photographers, so they should be coming up at any time.

But I did end up buying a few things! I got one of those boxes of Fullmetal Alchemist figurines (where you don't know what's inside till you open it), and I got Winry, but ~Apkinesis gave me an Alphonse one because he got two of the same one...lol. He also gave me a Kamina (Gurren Lagann) keychain, and I also bought three pins/buttons from the artist alley: Phoenix (Ace Attorney), Vincent (Final Fantasy VII), and America (APH)! All of which I attached to my school bag along with my Alphonse keychain that I've had for a while...lol ^.^

So how are you guys doing?? I've been kind of neglectful on actually being on DA lately...

I blame school!! ...seriously.... lol

So, yeah. I'm a senior in high school this year. Yep. ..... >.>

Lol, actually I'm somehow finding school enjoyable so far! Probably because of no math or science classes, having two art classes/periods, having an awesome English teacher, and actually living here long enough to know people in all my classes

Sadly, in my sports and entertainment management class, the teacher is a coach and it's dominated by guy athletes o.o I might end up being the only girl in the class if the other girl ends up having her schedule changed... (awkwarrrd) x.x I know nothing about sports!!! But it's an easy class, so I guess I'm good... lol XD

Anyway! I'm planning on opening for commissions very soon because I'm really tight on money and am in much need for some this fall. I dropped the prices a little bit from what I mentioned in earlier posts, though. I just need to figure out how I should make my PayPal account, but I want to ask my parents first...

I really don't have much else to say...

Oh!! I have a question... Does anyone know how England celebrates Christmas? I'm wondering if it's really weird/creepy because they didn't say in this video, lol

No, I didn't kill any Jedi. Or... not recently since I haven't played any Star Wars video games in a while

Republic Commando
Anyway! So I finally sat down and finished reading Order 66. Ends up I actually only had a few chapters left, so once I got back into remembering "Oh, so they were doing this. And this happened. And he's doing this..." And I was getting all into it again and...then I finished o.o Lol, I guess that's what I get for not reading it all right away

But as I was reading there was a more serious scene that kinda jumped out at me in a way that made me want to draw it in comic form. A simple scene, but I kinda liked it. Maybe I should redo that four page comic I did waayy back from a scene in True Colors, I think it was (I really don't remember), to balance it out, lol

That might actually be fun, I'll have to look for that later... >_>

I sometimes have people telling me how they like my RepCom art, both here and on YouTube. It always makes me happy to hear that, but I do feel kinda bad that I haven't been doing much of those lately, so hopefully I can get some more of those out soon

More Art
So I've slowly been working away to finish coloring another Metal Gear Solid comic...lol. I'll be posting another newer comic strip without colors (because I don't think it needs color) with that one to compensate for the wait, haha. But I'm thinking I might just do future comics in black and white to hopefully speed up the process...problem is that the part that takes the longest is cleaning up the lines to make it fit for computer coloring x.x Too bad I don't have Photoshop, that would make things so much easier lol

Commissions...maybe...perhaps....
I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do for doing commissions, but I really would like to open for some after I learn more about doing them and get some quality examples ready. But I do have one request art that I'm still needing to finish, too, lol

So do any of you guys have opinions on different price ranges, or...?

Music
You probably noticed that I didn't include my uber long list of music stuff; this journal was too long so I fugired I can just update it in my previous journal ([link]) Plus I'll need the space for when I eventually post commission info! lol

Cosplay
So my Ocelot Unit cosplay is still nearing completion. I decided I need to add more black dye onto the jacket, so now I just need to do that and find some gloves (why is it so hard to find gloves in Texas??? Ugh, this state is so weird... lol jk jk...or am I?)

I also decided that I'd like to buy/make a non-mask cosplay for places where dark, military, masked outfits are not common (I don't want people to think I'm some sort of Russian robber from the '60s), so I've decided to also have a second cosplay as-- *drumroll* CANADA~~!! ... *cough cough* Canada from Hetalia Axis Powers? ... *who are you?* ... I think I just saw some ghost-like country float by.... >.>;; (refering to this, starting at 1:40, for those who don't know-- [link] ) It's just like me to be the one sitting off to the side that no one notices, lol

I'm debating whether I should buy a wig or just find some colored hair spray... o.o I'm thinking the hair spray might be cheaper so... lol

Well, I feel asleep. So I'm gonna go...do that now... .....Metal Gear quotes are awesome. Or should I say... they're PRETTY GOOD?? *ba dum tshh* Yeah...I don't remember my humor being so flat, so I can tell I need sleep. Maybe I shouldn't watch so many Japanese animes

So...

Yeah...I haven't posted a journal in a long while, it feels like. Can't really think of much to say. I guess MGS4 made my brain explode, or something, lol.

Although I was thinking that I might open for commissions, if anyone's interested. I haven't really worked out all the details on pricing and such yet, but so far I've been thinking $5 per sketch (what I consider my sketches are step three in this process: [link] ), then the cost would go up depending on things like number of characters, background, etc. Can't say whether or not I can do colors very efficiently due to the program I use to color, so nothing on that yet...

If you guys have any thoughts, like pricing ideas, questions, etc, let me know!

Current Project
So I probably would've had, like, two or three new things posted/almost ready to be posted, but I've been working on something special for June 6 since last week. It's going to be a music video/slide show tribute type thing, but what's taking me so long is that I'm also doing a few short "animations" to put in it. Not really "animation" per se, but strings of drawings that I'll put together once I start editing the video. What's so special about June 6? If you don't know, I'm not going to tell. If you think you know, based on my interests, please don't say anything yet and find out if you're right when I post it!

So I've slowly been working on coloring this [link] (I don't know why, but some of the TV show's colors look weird on my lines

Free Comic Book Day! (Wolverine and Comicpalooza)
So it's Free Comic Book Day today! I went to go see X-Men Origins: Wolverine with my dad while a lot of my fellow high schoolers were taking the SAT this morning (I hate watching movies with talkers everywhere...). Though I have to wonder why some parents bring their younger young children to PG-13 movies like this...

Anyway, I also went to Comicpalooza with one of my friends and got to look around a bit. It was a lot smaller than I thought it was going to be, but I still got a free [autographed] graphic novel called "Eye Witness" by Robert James Luedki, which I've read a little bit of and it looks pretty good so far

I also went to see Tom Hodges ~Hodges-Art and bought a print from him and took a picture with him, since he's probably one of my favorite artists

I also got something else, but that shall remain secret for now...

Then we stopped by my local comic shop, which was across the street from the Comicpalooza venue, and picked up a couple of the free comics they had provided and bought another issue of KotOR

Tomorrow I'll probably go to see the movie Battle for Terra

John Adams
I watched the HBO John Adams series last week... SO. GOOD. Definitely not the sugar-coated stuff you normally see about history. And I think I've turned into a Thomas Jefferson fangirl. I blame this...and Lora Innes (*comic-chic), lol

But seriously, this is an amazing series!

Total Drama Action
So I finally decided to watch TDA as it airs in Canada on Sundays via YouTube uploads on Monday. It'll probably be censored for no reason again when it airs in the US anyway *rolls eyes*. It has a different feel to it than TDI (other than season one's camping theme vs. season two's movie theme), but I still love watching it

I'm still waiting for Courtney to sue the show so she can get back on though

Republic Commando
So since we've been testing this week (minus the day that was canceled because of flooding) plus Monday, I've been reading some more of Order 66. Finally. Good stuff! Still only on Chapter 14-ish, I think? I don't remember >.> Hopefully I'll be able to get some ideas for more fan art

Cosplay
So I've got pretty much everything ready for my Ocelot Unit cosplay, save for the pants, boots, and one ammo pouch that's on backorder till mid-May

So I actually got my laptop charger in the mail on Monday.... Between then and when my original charger stopped working, which was a little over a week I think, I only went on the Internet about twice, I think. Then obviously, I haven't been all that productive online between Monday and today. Basically what I'm saying is that if you left a comment or reply while my charger was out, I probably won't reply since 1) I haven't really felt compelled to use the Internet lately despite all the sites I needed/need to catch up on 2) The comments are probably out of date anyway, as in you probably don't care about what I have to say about two weeks after you sent them.

Sorry if I sound mean!! I'm not trying to be!

Honestly I've barely even used my iPod since the charger went out

Anywho~ I hope you guys've all been doing well since I've been gone!! You better not have blown up anything important, like, say, the White House...

So it's good bye to Spring Break, which for me was this week. In short, I spent it playing some Lost Oddessey (on the last disc now) and Fable II, watching =Apkinesis play some Half Life 2, he and I getting our dad interested in watching Death Note (he's never been that into watching anime before!!

), watching the ending episodes of Clannad: The After Story (which was sooo good by the way), listen to the audio recording of "The Grapes of Wrath" for English (don't expect me to read a novel I'm not interested in and remember everything, I get distracted enough when reading books I am interested in

), and some other random stuff...

I still need to watch the Wizard of Oz, though, and I want to see the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy again (love it!) now that I'm more into history, even if it is awesome-- I mean fantasy

I'll also probably start watching Cowboy Bebop, too. Then after that I can see the live action movie with Keanu Reeves!! *Eeeeee!!!* lol, I kid, I kid

But seriously, I've been kind of eying that series wondering if I should watch it for a while now. I've already seen the movie. And KJ-52 and =Apkinesis liked it, so... lol

Oh yeah, and I probably will go see that movie with Keanu Reeves as Spike when it comes out... *coughcough*

Lol, really, I'm so creative with these journal titles lately

As =Apkinesis already said, my uncle's stage-four colon cancer went away not too long ago, and even the doctors say it was a miracle. I really do thank God for that! So awesome!!

My laptop battery charger broke or something last week... So sad, I have to use the old family computer with the keyboard I don't like typing with because you have to type so hard... lol

Hopefully the replacement my dad ordered will come in soon!

The art I've been working on has been that Easter comic I talked about earlier, and also some mini-comics/comic strips about Nathan Hale, wheather it be inspired by my observations and crazy imagination while reading his biography (which I finally finished a couple weeks ago!), actual events during his life (even if I might exaggerate a few things...

), inside jokes about him with friends, or other little ideas with other characters from The Dreamer. Lol, I had fun with those

I'm on disc 3 of Lost Oddessey now. The plot thickens.... lol. I wouldn't say it's been a super-duper amazing game so far, but it's been really enjoyable, both in gameplay and story, which is something I've felt's been lacking in a lot of newer games.

Oh yeah, and it ends up a lot of my concerts aren't working out like I'd hoped, so now the only two I've got confirmed are the Nintendo one and the Pillar concert. I can live with that though! Can't wait to see the Pillar guys again

And in Pillar news, apparently the official announcement has been made by Rob: A lot of us knew that Rich Gilliland would become the new bassist, but I was kinda surprised to see, instead of Chase Lovelace, that Taylor Carroll is the new drummer!

If only I had my laptop and I'd get onto the UnderGround Army boards for discussion, but.... >.< I'd bet he's a great guy (and drummer) though! I trust Rob and Noah

Current Project
So I've actually been doing lots of drawing lately for a seven page comic, I think it'll be. Still trying to figure out the layout for the last page, but I've got most of the other six pages on thumbnails and rough sketches. After I finish those, I'll also do some related sketches for when I put them together into a video, which I've already made the intro, outro, and credits to.
What's the comic about you ask? Well.... Basically the dialogue/script is meant to match up to this song, but I've also taken inspiration from a few other resources:

I've felt an obligation to draw something like this since I was a little kid, so when I kept feeling a certain "connection" to this song for a couple of months, I kept getting images of a comic version of this song, and it was just so crystal clear, playing like a movie in my head in this past week that I started working on it. So yeah. Hoping all goes well

VASE Art Competition
So it ends up I didn't make it to state for VASE, but that's all right, I actually wasn't even expecting to get into the finals, so I'm happy!

Rap
Dude, I'm so surprised about how much I'm listening to rap/hip hop stuff now. I mean it's Christian, of course, since I guess I've always realized how lyrics influence what I listen to, which is why it's hard for me to listen to some secular music. But seriously! After getting into KJ-52 last November, then B.Reith, and tobyMac WAY before that, I recently bought the CD called Hip Hope Hits 2009 since those three are on it and now I might start listening to Grits, too

So I found that kind of amusing... lol

VASE Art Competition
So earlier this morning I went to my school to meet up with the other students and teachers who were going to the VASE art competition and pick up my artwork and such and get on the bus. After we finally got there and waited, and waited, and waited, and waited, and waited, and waited.... Seriously, we got there at about 9:00, but most of us weren't going to have our art qualified until about 11-11:50, THEN we'd have to find the rooms we'd each been assigned to so that we can be judged. Mine was supposed to be at around 11:40, I got there a bit early, though, but I didn't get in until 12:40 since everything was running late. Though I'd heard that the lines to rooms downstairs were moving a lot slower plus it was darker since there were no windows so it was dungeon-like Blargg -_____-;;;

But when I finally got in to be judged, she was actually really nice, though I was still pretty nervous; my first art competition!!

But as I answered all the questions about my artwork and such, the judge said that she really liked mine and how I did some of the things in it, which really made me glad.... but I was still nervous...lol

But after I left and was just hanging out with one of my friends, one of the other girls in my art class who was in the same line told me she saw my picture up, which meant that it's qualified for... nationals, I think? lol We won't know whose art pieces will end up in the finals until tonight if we text our art teacher (I'm just gonna wait till Monday, lol) Blehh, so that was that... lol

Lost Dog!
Then when my parents took me home, my mom saw a little lost dog looking in from the back door. I went outside to go pick it up, but it was all scared and ran away to hide with its tail between its legs. So my mom and I went and got it and took it inside, which made my dog go crazy and THAT scared this other dog. Eventually my dad found the owner while he was asking people if he'd seen his dog. Happy reunion!! Yay!! lol

Oh, and did I mention that yesterday I accidentally won a sketchbook from *comic-chic, aka my fav artist who also writes and draws The Dreamer? It was crazy!! I'd accidentally guessed the actual caption in her caption contest

Lost Odessey
Anyone else played this?? I started playing it... sometime last week... Saturday, I think... And I really like it so far!! I was surprised that with the fighting and exploration similar to Final Fantasy X (which for some reason, I hated, never really figured out why >.> ) that I really enjoy the gameplay! Early on the story was all right, and the graphics were good too, though not as good as I expected, which I blame Square Enix for brainwashing me with their insanely awesome graphics. After a little while the story got better (not to say I didn't find the earlier scenes interesting). I got to a real tear-jerker scene, which I won't mention because of spoilers, and from there and the following scene I could really see that the story would just go deeper, so I can't wait to see how that'll all go! Apparently, according to a walkthrough I had to look at once or twice, I'm almost at the end of the first disc out of... four or five? I don't remember. I think so far I've got 11-12 hours on this game. o.o

Blarg, enough of my not-so-little ramblings!

So I just turned 16. Usually when people have a birthday they say how they feel so much older, but I feel like I'm younger than I'm supposed to be?? lol

I had an awesome birthday weekend though, hanging out with family and =Apkinesis came home for the weekend... lol

I've felt like I've been wanting to post something here for a while but I keep forgetting what it was...

But I guess I could mention some random things that I do remember

- I'm hoping I'll eventually be able to buy a piece of artwork from a dude named Josh Brown, who I guess is more well known as the lead singer of Day of Fire ([link])

- If anyone has any tips on buying art, please let me know! I've got a general idea but I'm still new at it so... yeah... lol. Here's where you can see some of his art: [link] [link]

- One of my other fav bands, Red, has a new album out, but I haven't gotten it yet because the deluxe edition isn't in the store I get my CDs at, so I'll be getting that online I guess... >.>

- Watching Megas XLR makes me hungry... lol

- I started watching Wolverine and the X-Men along with the US releases on TV, and I'm really liking it. My only complaint so far is that the animators make Logan too expressive when Steve Blum's voice acting isn't as... excited... lol

- Posted my fourth tribute to The Dreamer over the weekend, too, if anyone wants to watch that: [link]

- Ohh!! While at Circuit City to buy random stuff from their store closing sales, =Apkinesis and I went to Game Stop, lol, and I got Lost Odyssey there. I haven't heard anything about that, but I guess I'll be trying that out sometime

- Later today I'll be checking out some Game Stops to see if I can find a used Fable since those are on sale this week, apparently

- In late March I'm planning on seeing the band Stars Go Dim, which'll be the first time I actually see them perform/meet most of them since I started doing work for them about a year ago, lol

- In April I'm also planning to see Pillar (with Fireflight and Me In Motion) again! Yay! Hopefully I'll finally meet their new drummer since he wasn't out on their last tour

I've finally started getting in the mood to color the line drawings that have been sitting around on my computer for a while, so hopefully I'll be getting more done later on

Lately, after my whole Stargate drawing phase, I've started practicing to draw some of the Knowlton's Rangers men as they appear in The Dreamer, mainly Lt. Col. Thomas Knowlton, Capt. Nathan Hale, and Alan Warren, and I really need to start learning the designs of Frederick Knowlton and Beatrice Whaley!

And speaking of Freddy, I'm working on a costume for his continental army uniform as depicted in The Dreamer, too. I'm hoping it'll turn out better than all my previous costumes, though, lol

Mm... other than that, I've got nothin'....

So this last weekend, I went to Oni-Con as Hobo Phoenix from Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney with ~Apkinesis who went as Keiichi from Higurashi. I got an Alphonse hat and an Edward plushie, both from Fullmetal Alchemist, and had the plushie signed by Vic Mignogna ^__^

Oh, and if you guys remember me mentioning how B.Reith got me in his video blog/web show, it's already up

I look like a freak, though, but it's fine 'cause it's funny to me, especially considering I was a lot worse in my first Pillar podcast lol

See, House of Heroes' latest CD actually has a lot of songs inspired by events from World War I (not just American stories either), and the director of the music video kinda ran with that and made this video. Personally, it's one of, if not, my favorite music video ever. And I wanted to share it (again) on this day where we Americans celebrate our veterans from past wars and the men and women who are overseas right now. I don't care whether you support or hate this war, but the people serving really deserve our thanks and appreciation for what they're doing.

There are actually a lot of programs out there that let you write letters or send cards to our troops. Right now I've got three guys I've never met that I'll be writing letters and Christmas cards to, maybe more... lol

Ah, it was actually kinda cool because today for our US history class, my teacher actually was able to get a hold of three veterans from the Vietnam War and World War II to speak to all the history classes. Even though most of the kids probably thought it was boring, I thought their stories were actually really interesting. Like, a student asked the one who was in the Air Force during WWII if he ever saw any concentration camps, so he actually told us about how he found one and I was like "Whoa!" except not really... But I was on the inside, lol XD

Arg, I'm ranting again, lol. Sorry about that ^_^;; Well I'll finish up quick then! Happy Veteran's Day!

Hey guys!

Arg, I'm sorry about the super lack of updates... I haven't had a whole lot of free time to work on fan art and such. Most of my drawing time goes to my school art projects now. Though I still have some things I might need to get around to scanning, or touching up and I'll get to those probably on either a weekend or a long weekend >.>;; Again sorry! I haven't even gotten past the first page of chapter 10 of Order 66 yet!! Arg... Though last week's episode of The Clone Wars made me tear up at the end... also... Rex pwns. 'Nuff said.

Tomorrow is Halloween and I'll be trick-or-treating with some friends and while they get candy, I shall be taking people's money... for donations to UNICEF. lol I'm going as Phoenix Wright, and I even have an Objection sign ^^ Right now I'm waiting for my Phoenix pants to finish in the washing machine with the color remover D: lol

Anyone playing Fable II? I started last Saturday and have been trying to squeeze it in from time to time... it's so fun and addicting lol XD

Ahh! One of my favorite bands has a music video for one of their latest songs, which happens to be the song that inspired me to start working on an original comic (has nothing to do with the video, btw). First, I have a couple questions for my fellow RepCom peoples:
If I were to post a four page Order 66 based comic (chapter 5, hint hint, ~Erevanur), kinda like my comic strips only in pages, would you prefer me to post two pages per deviation (like page 1 and 2 together, then 3 and 4 together), or to post them all separately?
If I were to post two per deviation, I'll have it available for download so you can see them at the same size as if they were posted separately.
And actually, I have this strong urge to color it, lol, so if you guys want, I could post the lines before posting the colors since that'll take a while.
So tell me what you think....

Okay, who all saw the premier episodes of The Clone Wars on Friday?? Dude! I so loved it!! I thought it was better than I expected it to be. Of course, that could've also been caused by the fact that the episodes gave the clones a much bigger spotlight, which, by the way, I thought they did an awesome job with the clones having separate personality traits. Dee Bradly Baker is now officially cool for doing different thicknesses in their accents and the pitches when he did their voices. And here I thought he was already cool for playing Momo and Appa in Avatar (among other good roles)

Also, while I mention Avatar, I think they made a great choice to have Dave Filoni as the director since he used to be one of the directors on Avatar. He does a really good job putting together an epic storyline in short 30-minute intervals. Plus now he made me think Plo Koon actually is kinda "Plo Kool"

Ahh, I'm so excited to see that Grievous-centered episode Matthew Wood mentioned in his interview on Cartoon Network. It was so weird, though, I had a dream last night that was like a cross between a Star Wars convention and birthday party, then Matthew Wood was like a biology teacher by day, Star Wars sound guy/voice actor by night and I couldn't get his autograph because class kept starting... even though I already saw him at CIV... It was so weird...

But dude, the preview they showed of what season one is going to be about looks so good!! From the look of it, I'm guessing they're going to show the Battle on Kamino, I think?

I actually have a couple things coming in the mail soon, and one of them is that new biography of Nathan that I ranted a little bit about in my last journal; "Nathan Hale: The Life and Death of America's First Spy" by M. William Phelps. Original title, huh? lol Arg, soon I'll be juggling three books! This one, Order 66, and Comic Making by Scott McCloud (which has some really good tips in it)

O_o ).

Okay, well, pretty much everyone in the US should know about hurricane Ike as it hit land a few hours ago I think it was. We're starting to get some wind and cloudy-ness where we live, so I'll probably be getting off the Internet and stuff soon in case the power goes out. Actually this is my first hurricane, but we should end up okay because we're far enough inland that we won't get the worst of the stuff plus we're getting the clean side of the wind so there shouldn't be as much debris flying around everywhere. My dad said the winds are about 18 miles per hour right now but they should be getting up to around 80 mph. It's only a category 2 hurricane, though, so it shouldn't get too bad. ^__^

Arg, honestly I'd prefer a snow storm over a hurricane any day. I've had more experience with those

EDIT: So the hurricane passed this morning at around noon-ish and we got electricity back about three or four hours ago. So far it seems like the damage around here isn't too much more than broken tree branches and street signs, a bit of flooding in a few neighborhoods (not mine though), and possible messed up tap water from Houston. It was a bit scary when I was trying to sleep last night though, so I ended up sleeping in my parents' walk-in closet with my dog, haha

I do hope that Galveston, and Houston, and all those other cities will be able to rebuild soon though.
Strangely, though, I feel like I'm in a very happy mood right now lol

I promise I'll reply to all the comments and favs I've neglected to reply to these past few weeks once the storms blow over ^.^

BUT -- In art news... lol

I'm still working on those RepCom pics, which is taking longer than I thought because I'm having trouble with some of the poses

I've read though several biographies of him online -- I still want to buy "Nathan Hale: The Life and Death of America's First Spy" by M. William Phelps, though, 'cause that one looks interesting -- and some of them had some interesting things that inspired a few ideas. Some serious, some funny... lol

He was such a cool guy, and I really do think he was a hero. And he WAS a good spy, darn it!! lol

EDIT: Ah, I'm also trying to put together a story for kind of an original comic idea I have, which is actually based on a song called "In the Valley of the Dying Sun" by House of Heroes (which is why I said "kind of original" lol) but I've only got the first five pages' rough scripts written out so far and there's a couple of characters and other things I still have to name, haha. Hey, how is everybody? School going okay so far (for those who're in school)?

Well, this is more of an update for the peoples who originally watched me for my Star Wars: Republic Commando stuff...

I just got an official download from a band called House of Heroes (I also got one for the band Stars Go Dim, but that'll be a different fan art thing *coughKotOR2cough*

) and there's this one song called "By My Side" that -- BANG!! I suddenly got, like, four or five (maybe more) fan art ideas for Republic Commando

So if things go according to plan, I'll try sketching up some stuff soon and post those. Then I'll let you guys check 'em out, give me feedback, then I'll go into finishing them up. Sound good? Yes, no, maybe so... lol (my geometry teacher used to say that all the time O.o)

For those not so into Star Wars, I'm also making a fan art of Zack Fair from Final Fantasy VII!

There's an ant on my laptop... T_T

*ahem* Well, anyway, I'll try to keep this one short...-ish... My first day back in school was today, and I actually feel kind of okay about it so far (just wait till the tests and quizzes roll in o___o ). But of course, it's gonna cut into my time, but I've still got art class, and I like to sketch in between classes (I've already done a few

), so I'll try to update every now an then

Also, translating that Final Fantasy XII manga is soo much fun! I've finished the first 23 pages (minus the sound effects, which I still need to find fonts for) And there's more character interaction and background stories than in the game, so it's really interesting to see that unfold

After I finish the first volume, which will probably take a while, I'll try to find somewhere to post it ^_^

I'm also playing through Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII now. Zack is officially my favorite FFVII character, next to Vincent

I just know I'm gonna cry at the end even though I've watched it several times before... lol

Okay, well, first things first... I'll be on vacation for about a week starting tomorrow, so no updates till then ^_^ Although I do have at least one picture ready to post along with a five page comic, so I'll post that when I get back

I also finally beat Final Fantasy XII today! I've heard that most people either love it, hate it, or just don't care, but I'd say I'm one of those who love it ^_^ In related news, my relatives in Indonesia bought me an FF XII manga, which I've been trying to translate (I only know the basics of the language >.< ) and I really like it so far

M'kay, I has a quick rant about movies and video games...

Movies

Iron Man
'Twas filled with awesome-ness with a chocolate coating... I really thought it was one of the best comic based movies! (*is a DC Comic person*) It's also the first thing since the Teen Titans series that's got me curious to see what the original comics are like. (except that with TT, the two are almost completely different)

Prince Caspian
I haven't seen it yet. Anyone know if it's good? I'm debating whether I should see it in theaters or wait till DVD...

'Ello! How are you all doing?

Well, here's just a quick update on what I've been doing:

-I've sorta put most of my art stuff on halt, so I don't know when I'll be posting new pictures.
-I'm also finally getting around to reading Republic Commando: True Colors!! Finally!! I'm still only in the middle of chapter 10, so yeah... Yays, I'm actually getting in the mood to draw clones and Mandos again =3
Edit: (possible True Colors spoilers): Okay, scratch that.... I've finished True Colors!! Ah! So full of awesome-ness. If I didn't already hear spoilers about Fi, I probably would've cried when -that- happened... but he's still my fav <3 But the part with the "welcoming party" for Venku (or Kad, whichever you prefer to call him XD ), I actually teared up when Dar...you know... But TC still had it's parts that made me smile and laugh and parts that made me kinda wince or go "eww", just like the books before it. I was also surprised that I still remember so much Mando'a despite not practicing it since, like, October? Lol, good times, good times... XD Anywho, I'll probably end up making some clone/Mando fan art soon, perhaps

-I also read volumes 1-10 of Black Cat, having watched the anime first. It's probably better than the anime, but I still love both!
-I recently bought another DVD volume of Mushi-shi, having watched the entire series in Japanese a while back, and this is the first show since Fullmetal Alchemist that I like the English voice acting better than the original Japanese! O.o

Alright, what I'm gonna do here is just post quick news things that I'm wanting to let you guys know

Scanner
Well, the reason I haven't been posting much lately is because the scanner I normally use won't connect to the computer for some reason, and the other scanner we have doesn't scan color very well. So... yeah. Hopefully I can solve that problem soon

But I do have something I'm working on in computer graphics, so that'll be something anyway

Gaming
I'm loving Super Smash Bros. Brawl! Yay! Over spring break, I beat Mass Effect! Yay! Then I played Metal Gear Solid (Twin Snakes version) for the first time and beat it! Yay! Now I'm playing Metal Gear Solid 2 (Substance version)! Yay! MGS is probably one of my new favorite video game series! Yay! Snake is probably one of my favorite video game characters now! Yay! But Raiden's kinda annoying in my opinion. Boo.

Lol, but really, I'm loving the MGS story! I wish I'd tried playing it sooner. The reason I went back to play them was because I didn't understand of all of Snake's jokes with Otacon, Colonel, and Mei Ling over the codec on Brawl and I wanted to understand them. Then I started to really enjoy the gameplay, characters, and general story. So yays!

Darn flu season... But that doesn't mean I can't still be totally excited! Twenty-two days left till Pillar's For The Love Of The Game comes out!

Now back to the topic of art. Since I'm sick today, and am staying home from school, I'll probably have time to put some color onto the Pillar drawing I've been working on. I've also got a few other of my sketchbook assignments I'll try to post later

I also fixed up TobyMac's hair in that one drawing, but I haven't scanned it yet, either...

Lastly, you know those photos I put up of the Sakura-con 2008 commercial shoot, with Vic Mignogna? Well, they finally put the commercial up! Yay! [link]

As most of you noticed, I've been going pretty crazy with the Pillar. Well, that would be because their latest album is only one month and seven days, and their tour starts around the same time too! w00t

Speaking of Pillar, I'm gonna need all the constructive criticism you guys can offer on the drawing I've been working on, because I want to start inking it sometime tomorrow (Saturday).

On another art related note, I've gotten an idea for a comic/manga from doodling random people on school notes and such, but I still have some loose ends to tie up and I haven't written any scripts yet either, so I don't know how that's going to go. I might try drawing out a short scene and see how it turns out, but I don't know... I think it would be fun to at least try though!

Also, in case you guys don't know already, I'm one of the moderators on the club here called ~animechristians, and I also volunteered to make the music page! Yay! I'm almost done with it, too ^-^

Hi! How are you guys doing? I hope you all had an awesome Christmas! I had a pretty good time ^^-

I don't have much to say, but I wanted to update my journal, so here it goes!

My Pillar poster/fan art is going well! I'll probably post a new work in progress as soon as I get Lester the drummer on there. Special thanks to ~Fanoom for helping me decide on how to draw Lester

Oh, and there's a funny story about what happened when I posted this drawing on the Underground Army forums. I won't tell it here to save room, but I'll probably explain it on my next WIP

Also, for anyone interested, Pillar's going to start touring on February 21!

Haven't made any progress with my Heroes fan art, but I'll try to get that done soon

I've also got one or two other random things, so yeah

Art News!

Pillar! I posted my drawing WIP on the UG Army Forums (Underground Army = Pillar's street team) to try to get some more feedback. Sadly that means that the guys might see it and it won't be a surprise anymore, but I have no clue when they'll be coming to my area on tour anyway, so... I guess it's an early Christmas present? Heh heh... eh... whatever.

Speaking of Pillar, it's so awesome that Rob and Kalel sometimes post on the UG forums every now and then, they're so funny

Heroes! I just finished inking all three of the guys I'm featuring; Hiro Nakamura, Takezo Kensei (don't say his other name! I don't want spoilers going around), and Peter "Pizza" Petrelli, who are also my top three favorite characters

Anywho, I'll try to get that done soon.

Other art stuff! I'm also working on a two-pannel mini-manga-styled-comic which I will dedicate to Vic Mignogna! I'll probably try to get it up on the Risembool Ranger forums sometime, most likely in January, so he has more of a chance to see it.

'Ello peoples!

Well, as most of you might've figured out, I haven't really been on DA very much for the past couple weeks. Reason being that I'm on hiatus, tryin' to give myself more time on school work and stuff. I probably will continue being away for just a little while longer, maybe just till this weekend, maybe later, but finals are coming up, and I've got literally three regular tests and one quiz tomorrow plus my art project is due soon, and so yeah...

Anywho, I have been working on some drawings, namely a Heroes fan art which I divided into three pictures; Hiro, Peter, and Kensei (Don't say his other name! I don't want any spoilers for people who haven't seen it yet!), who are probably my three favorite characters.

I've also been working on uh... kind of a poster/fan art thing for my favorite band ever: PILLAR! I'm eventually going to give it to them as a gift, so yay!

Oh, and did you know that they got nominated for a Grammy? Yays! *cough* Uh, artwise, I still need a reference picture of Lester, the drummer. Other than that, I've got Rob, Noah, and Kalel drawn, so that's good... So if anyone knows anyone who has a good clear picture of Lester with the drums, let me know. If not, I'll just ask Kalel or someone later on

Okay, I've got lotsa things I want to rant about in this journal, despite the music implying title... So I'll be nice and bold and italicize a topic for each thing I talk about. 'Kay? Good.

To anyone who listens to mainstream US bands, like, at all, you might get a kick out of this video from Pillar's bass player Kalel who answers the fan question "Were you friends with anyone who later became famous?" To which he answers "Yes" but you'd be surprised at who it is. And no, you don't have to know who Pillar is.

TobyMac's Portable Sounds Concert
Totally and completely awesome! Probably the best concert I've ever been to! (and this was last Saturday, by the way) Before I went in, I got a Thousand Foot Krutch t-shirt and a TobyMac t-shirt that on the back says "CATCHAFIRE Let it burn within". No Barlowgirl shirt, though. TFK rocked, even though they played first. And I loved their outfits for some reason

Toby was awesome, he and the Diverse City band not only played their music and sang, but they also performed and the message that Toby gave was pretty good ^^- I thought it was funny when one of the Diverse City members started break dancing and the others were singing from TruDog's song... "Sake it! Don't break it! It took your mama nine months to make it!"

And that was cool, 'cause we got Toby to do, like, two encores. The first seemed like it was planned, but the last one seemed like it was actually being improvised a little bit because Toby said that he wanted to end the concert with Jesus Freak, which he did on the last one, but they all rocked! And we were happy

Afterwards it was really cool 'cause Toby crowd surfed... Twice! And at the very end of the concert, he was like "God bless you all! ...And thanks for catching me, by the way."

Oh, and look out for the Portable Sounds DVD, 'cause that's the actual concert I went to

Pillar - "For The Love Of The Game"
This is why I didn't already report the happenings of the Portable Sounds concert: I went to check out Pillar's site ([link]), and what d'y'know, they had their latest song posted on there... FOR THE LOVE OF THE GAME!! I was so excited I completely fell in love with the band again

In a non creepy-stalker way... of course...

I read the journals they had up that I missed 'cause they're always soo funny ('specially when Noah's all hyper

) That was also cool when I read their post about their trip to Australia, and there was a picture of Noah with a python and Rob with a camel at a zoo, but according to Kalel, he and Lester were too lazy to go

And when I saw Rob with the camel, I was like, "Aaww! Lookie! It's so kyooot! <3 ... It would be funny if it'd spit in his face."

Daw! I'm sorry, Rob! Hugs!

First off, I'm sorry about the lack of updates recently! I know the excuse is old, but school's been keeping me busy with pretty much nonstop tests, quizzes, and projects for the past two weeks

Truth be told, I actually have a Mushi-Shi fan art ready to scan, but I want to buy that spray that keeps charcoal from smearing to use on it first because I'm actually pretty happy with the turn out, and I don't want black stuff all over Ginko's white hair or something >.<

Also, I have one other that's inked that I'll color soon since these are both for my school assignment (which is a Star Wars one, finally

), plus some more stuff I still need to finish that I have that isn't for school...so, you can probably expect more updates around Thanksgiving when I actually have time off from school O.o

On another note, I'm going to the TobyMac concert (my third favorite singer), which also has Thousand Foot Krutch (my second favorite band)! Yay!

I've only read about ten pages so far, but WOW!!! Oh my gosh! I've fallen in love with Omega Squad (and Delta) all over again! Oh, I just want to give them all a hug, 'specially Fi ^-^ I thought the part with Niner tightening the straps that Fi had on was funny, poor Fi...

I won't say anything else even though it's not a spoiler, really

Actually, I was planning on finishing "Mhi An Vode", which is kind of a simple drawing, in honor of the release, but I only had time to ink the line art so far... I'll try to finish with the coloring tomorrow!, though! ^-^

Oni-Con = Awesome-ness...

I shall post more about it, and probably a picture or two, tomorrow! Right now... too tired... and my knees are killing me... Nonetheless! Oni-Con was still oh so sweet today ^-^

Oh, and special shout out to Aaron Dismuke for his birthday on the 13th!

He turned 15! That's one year older than me O.o

I just found that out about that today or else I would've done a special artwork.... maybe I still will... after I get some sleep, that is...

Edit: Okay... Gonna go more in depth now...

When my brother and I went, we watched some of the panels there. Some of those were really awesome! I liked the one with the Fullmetal Alchemist cast (Aaron wants to be an assassinating, ranch owning president living in Mexico when he grows up?

), and I especially liked the panel with just Aaron Dismuke (voice of Alphonse) and Vic Mignogna (voice of Edward). Why? It was soo awesomely funny! Those guys rock out loud!

Then I went to go to the Mushi Shi panel with Travis Willingham (Roy Mustang in FMA, Ginko in Mushi Shi) and Mike McFarland (voice director and voice of Jean Havoc in FMA), I think, and just the first few minutes were already cool, but then I had to leave because I would do the Hare Hare Yukai dance ([link]), but I messed up every time we did it and there were half a dozen or so people recording it

Oh well, I had fun! ^^

We also went to the store there! I got a Fullmetal Alchemist poster with Ed, Al, and Roy on it, a Sven, from Black Cat, patch, a Vincent Valentine plushie, and a Fullmetal manga for my friend in Kansas! ^-^

After that I went in for autographs! (no, I never went back for Travis' Mushi Shi panel... I'M SORRY TRAVIS!!) The one I got was from Aaron! And oh my gosh he had a King Bradley action figure! How come I don't have any FMA action figures?

Haha, I'm just kidding, it's cool ^-^ Anyway, I asked him to sign my poster, then I got a picture with him! Yay! He's such a cool guy, but I don't mean that in a fan-girly way (I found those crazy fan girls to be pretty scary O.o ), I meant it in a "He'd be an awesome guy to hang out with" kind of way...

But anywho... We later came back to get Vic and Travis' autographs but the line was taking forever for some reason...Seriously! After waiting in line for almost two hours, their one hour session was already finished... That sucked... And I was going to ask Vic to sign that manga for my friend, too... Oh well... I'll try to get them next year if they come back ^-^

And that's pretty much what happened... Oh! But I was in my Ayu cosplay! Only two or three people actually recognized me from Kanon (2006), but that's okay! ^-^ Though I found it slightly strange that someone actually wanted to take a picture of me O.o I let them take it, of course, but still... Oh well.

Speaking of birthday fan art! I found out a couple days ago that it's Vincent Valentine's birthday on the 13th, so I'll try to finish up the drawing I have for him pretty soon ^-^ (wow, I'm such a geek!

) Oh, and speaking on Vincent, I've almost beat Dirge of Cerberus! After that I'll probably look for Final Fantasy X and play that

In other news... Yays for Republic Commando: True Colors! After all that waiting, it comes out the 30th, which is exactly 20 days away! Yay~!

I'm curious to see what the new character Rav Bralor is gonna be like... I think she's the first female Mandalorian I'm going to "meet." For some reason I keep thinking she's going to be like Izumi (Edward's teacher) from Fullmetal Alchemist, I guess since she's from the Cuy'val Dar

*cough* And now my final announcement is that Oni-Con, which is an anime convention, is coming up in exactly 10 days O.o I'm almost finished with my Ayu cosplay, and I've got the Hare Hare Yukai dance all memorized (just gotta work on not stumbling on the spin...). Mouse at home, which is most of the time (and all my posted CG pics), Wacom tablet in computer graphics class

I don't pay attention to that... I just use it...

The line art! It's probably my favorite part. I sometimes mess up the coloring

But of course, I still try to put effort into the colors

Depends...

Yeah.

For dialogue Comic San MS, for other stuff, it just depends on what fits with the image.

Going to Oni-Con this year with the cool peoples at my school's anime club and also

! I'm gonna cosplay as Ayu Tsukimiya from Kanon 2006

(don't look up who it is! Any spoilers at all, even minor ones, is a huge no no for is series O_o) I also would've liked to go to the Star Wars convention in Dallas, but I couldn't because both these cons are on the same weekend, so I figured to go to Oni-Con with my friends since I also already went to Celebration IV

Now... AVATAR! Don't worry, I won't tell any big spoilers, but if you don't like spoilers, then I suggest not reading the rest of my journal here.

Note: Please forgive my fangirlishness, for Avatar is one of the few things I'm a fangirl for O.o

**Avatar Spoilers Start**

Omigosh! <3333!!

I won't lie; the premier could've been better... but hey I still liked it, and it's a start! But there were a few cheesy parts in it that kinda bugged me. Next episode looks both interesting and hilarious, though, and I can't wait to see it!

Aang seems less serious/Zuko-like and more kid-like in that one, too

Now, back to the actual premier. I though it was cool how they showed some of the very minor characters in the Fire Nation twin ladies' speech thing at the beginning of the episode.

Me likey Zuko, and I also liked the reference to the turtle duck pond from his childhood. I didn't like the part with Mai and Zuko on the ship though. I mean it was kid of funny but wow, that was reason enough why I don't ship them O.o Zuko needs comforting, not sarcasm! Then she kisses him after that?! I also didn't think I'd see fan service in Avatar (when Zuko talks to Azula in her room) O.o Plus why was she walking around so much just to go back in her original position during that scene?

I also thought it was funny because I hadn't realized that Hakota seemed so short in comparison to Bato

And dude, was that Fire Nation ship's captain or whatever voiced by Mark Hamill, too?! =O

Ooh, Ozai... I've always liked him for being voiced by Mark Hamill (my favorite voice actor), but duuude, now I know where Zuko gets his looks

I'm sorry, I'll try to be less fangirl-y. :carefully hides sketch book: I'm not drawing fan art of Ozai...

... Don't judge me!

Hmm... maybe I should draw some more Zuko or Zutara to redeem myself...

But, y'know, to be honest, I was a bit disappointed that that was what they were building up to over the first two seasons...

Surprise! I found a scanner! That's the good news. The bad news is that it can't scan color very well. Then the semi-good news is that maybe I can ask my computer graphics teacher if I can use that scanner (no guarantees with that, though O.o). And the last one, the semi-bad news is that I can't post the ones I have till tomorrow or later because I have to do homework.

Well, I just wanted to try re-arranging my schedule to see if it would help me with my school work, 'cause I got tons of homework last week (one night I had to stay up till past midnight working on homework), plus I've gotta finish reading the "Into Thin Air" (not even half way done) novel and about half of "Cold Mountain" in, like, one and a half weeks during my own time? O.o

So what I'm gonna do is not go on DA except for the few minutes before I leave for school, and after I finish all my homework just to see if that'll help me out any, so sorry if I don't post comments or reply to comments during the weekdays...

Nope, but I've got a Shipuden Sakura outfit going, but first I've got two other costumes to finish

A Kakashi wall scroll that also features his nin-dogs, two DVDs, two Shipuden figurines (Naruto and Sakura), an Itachi plush toy, a doggie-Kakashi plush toy (^.^), and I think that's it...

No...

No, I skipped the fillers. I'm just gonna watch 'em in English even though it's... blah... But I love Shipuden!

Nope, I've only started reading with Shipuden after episode 26 to keep from finding more spoilers in the future

No way; he may seem like that sometimes, he's completely driven toward his goals. "I'M GONNA BE HOKAGE!!!" and even smaller ones like "I'M GONNA FIND OUT WHAT'S UNDER KAKASHI-SENSEI'S MASK NO MATTER WHAT!!!"

Sub, for sure.

Pro, but mostly only after the Chunin (sp?) Exam thing with cutting her hair

I don't know about him officially, since I've only seen him at the end of one chapter, but he seemed pretty funny...

Well, as you might've guessed from the title of this journal, I'm gonna be going back to school tomorrow... and I still haven't found the scanner

my drawings to-do list is piling up at twelve drawings that I've finished, am still working on, or need the computer to finish it O.o

Anyway... So starting tomorrow, I'm gonna be a bit busy, 'specially since this is a new school for me and all, plus I still gotta finish reading "Into Thin Air" for my Advanced English class (dude! I hate cussing in novels for some reason! (more so than on TV/movies and comics for some odd reason)).

Though, despite the move, summer was awesome! Here's some of the highlights:

-Driving to Star Wars Celebration IV right after school finished... Everything that happened at CIV was sooo amazing! Too much awesome-ness to list, but just one thing was when I gave Temuera Morrison a drawing and he gave me a free autograph!!!

I was so happy

-Then on our way back, we stopped at the Grand Canyon, where I got some pics of some ravens, which is where my icon comes from, and I also got a stuffed one!

-And we also stopped by Roswell, New Mexico (got some alien suvoniers there, of course

)
-Then we got home and some movies we watched were Spiderman 3, Transformers, and Live Free or Die Hard. All awesome movies!

But after that not much went on besides moving... -____-

Well, enough ranting. I just wanted ya'll to know that I'll be busy on weekdays from now on

Before I get to the quiz, I wanted to say that I might be posting soon because one of our scanners were found! EDIT:Err...scratch that...this scanner stinks; it makes the images waaay too small, so I will not be using it.

So...Yeah. *sigh* I just can't wait till this is all over, but by then school'll be starting up again... I don't wanna move out of state again! T.T

**EDIT: Well, some of these new movers aren't so bad now.

Anyway, I just wanted to say that starting today my Internet usage will depend on the hotels and when we have it installed at the new house (because our Internet got packed yesterday

) so I just wanted to give everyone a heads up.

But, still, don't expect updates for a while; I still have to unpack, eventually find the scanner, *then* color my new drawings on the computer. In other news...Texas is pretty nice, though I've only been here for a few days now

***EDIT*: Still no scanner, but I'd just like to throw this out there. See, my brother and I have an inside joke about the high school I'm going to be attending because of the mascot, and it's, "THIS IS SPARTAAAAAA!!!" Yeah, my mascot's gonna change from the Cougars to the Spartans

Other than that the school seems cool since I went in it for the enrollment a few days ago, but it's HUGE and I predict that I shall get lost in it

Anyway, hopefully I find the scanner soon...
