End of the semester for me, coupled with Quaylak returning to her full time job, has caused us to get a little bit backlogged with commissions. I have a full month before Spring term starts up, so I should be able to work through most of it, but just to be safe, we're closing things down to avoid getting too backed up. Commissions for smaller items are still open, though, so if you need a tail, handpaws, ears, or feet, feel free to contact us for a quote.

It's not a necessary item, like food or housing, but it's something we've been trying to get together enough funds for for a while now. I guess my being an unemployed college student and her being laid off just doesn't help with our goals. So we decided to ask some generous people to consider donating just a couple'a bucks to the Cintiq Fund. Every penny will help, larger donations will get a lot of appreciation (*possibly even something tangible, hint*), and it will all be put into a savings account to go towards getting Quay-Quay a (probably used, so it's cheaper) Cintiq.

We are also considering, and somewhat planning, holding a raffle for a partial (with runners-up getting smaller items) from us, the proceeds of which will go to the Cintiq as well, so keep an eye out for that--it'll likely be announced in various places if/when it happens.

If you have any other ideas about how we can make some money for this, we'd certainly be willing to give it a try, so let us know.

After Friday, things should be cleared just enough that I can get a couple of things done (the two remaining items on my list), but then I have many projects that shall be due in the next few weeks that must be worked on, so it may be slow going afterwards. We'll see how time-consuming everything is.

In other news, we found out not long before FWA that due to the economy, Quaylak will be losing her job on May 1st (at the latest--it could be sooner). I lost my job in February, and since then she has been supporting us completely, with only small contributions from what I made selling fursuit pieces. Obviously, this spells bad news for us, because her school loans are in repayment and, well... we have bills. Rent, school loans, and car payments alone add up to 1650 a month. She'll be getting unemployment, which will help, but it won't cover everything (obviously). So right now, we're just kind of... unsure about what's going to happen. We really have no idea.

But hey, we'll keep on keepin' on.

Where are you staying?

In the dealer's den, table 17, with *Quaylak. Savage Turtle Studios. We'll be all the way on the end, next to *ahkahna.

My woman *Quaylak, and *ahkahna and her man ~undeadAmnos. And anyone else we happen to pick up along the way. Apparently there are a few people who want to meet up with quay-quay at the con. :3

Only take-homes this year. Lugging all of my fursuit supplies up to Atlanta is not fun. *Quaylak will definitely be taking art commissions, though.

It's recommended that you use this form for contacting us about a commission, because it lets you in on all of the info we need to know in order to complete your commission. Makes it easier for both parties.

Anyway, two of the commissioners on this list who have not kept in contact/paid for their commissions have been put on hold to make room for others. Once payment is received, you'll go back up on the list. Everyone else: first come, first served.

I've really been wanting to do some volunteer work. Either with the local humane society, the save-a-life foundation, or the dolphin project, where you go out on a boat and study dolphins. I'd also be interested in volunteering with the oatland wildlife center, but they want like 20 hours a week from you, and I just can't do that. I honestly don't know if I can do any volunteer work, with the way my schedule is. I really want to, though. Not only would it look good on a resume, but I just really like animals, and there aren't enough people out there who work to make their lives better, you know?

School's started up. Looks like it'll be cool. Geography professor is probably going to be someone I'm not too fond of, but whatever. I also don't know if I'll actually be able to continue going, because I STILL don't know if I got any school loans. Financial aid is just... I hate it. I turned everything in to them on April 4th. It's now over four months later, and I still don't have a definitive answer from them. I also only recently bought my books because I had no mon-ay to pay for them. :<

Will still be working hard, I promise.

*Quaylak and I roomed with *joecifur, Gretchen (art slave), Alyssa (mirabem), and @youthculture. It was really fun, for the most part, but very tiring. There were always people coming and going from the room, and one night we sat down and made our own murfles jackson suit--some random head made out of foamies, googly eyes, a toilet paper roll, card stock, and three completely random scraps of fur. It was a sun bear. D: Jill0r ran around the con in the head, dancing like a complete friggin' lunatic. What's funny is that some people joined in, dancing the same way, and were actually taking it seriously.

But yeah, that was pretty much the highlight of the con. The rest of the time was spent starving to death because we couldn't leave the table in the dealer's den (we literally survived on wheat thins and cheez-its the whole con). But we made a lot of money, got a lot of commissions, and I actually had someone come to our table and say "I love your stuff," as in my fursuit pieces and such. A lot of others recognized us, or said they had our website on their favorites and whatnot. That was cool.

Jynx made his first ever appearance at a con, as did full suit Quaylak, and I plan to pose pictures of it all soon, after work this evening. The body suit wasn't 100% finished, but I really didn't have any time to work on it while I was there, so I just ignored it. D:

But anyway, yeah. Time for me to run off to work, back to the real world.

Anyway, commissions are open, of course, but on a limited basis. We're getting ready for AC in June, so I'm working hard on getting together a lot of stuff to sell at the convention, and hopefully two partials to sell to help get us to the convention. Currently in the works are a snow leopard partial and... some kind of canine. Haven't decided yet. They'll be sold on Furbid, and we'll also have a couple of partials to sell at the convention, as well as other random bits (lots of tails and handpaws, mostly).

He requested that I come on here and let you guys know that he's currently stranded in Florida this weekend and unable to work on commissions. What should have been a nice visit to see his family turned into his car dying and leaving and him with no way to get back home. At the moment, he also does not have net access, hence my posting in his place. He won't be back in action until Tuesday, latest of Wednesday, which means work will be put on hold. We are still on schedule for the most part and will have these pieces done by May 30th, he will just be out of contact for the next few days. And don't worry, he made it to his parents' house, so the car is sitting out in their yard waiting to be fixed. :3

Then I wore my girlfriend's cutesy Quaylak suit, and felt surprisingly more comfrotable in it. I had more fun, at least. I mean, the convention wasn't all that, but it was my first experience and it was a positive one.

On the way home, I settled on the fact that we will be attending AC this year. We've already got a full table and we're staying with Joecifur at the hotel. Yay. I'll be making a ton of fursuity stuff to sell at the table, seeing as how the wolf tail sold late on the last day of the convention, not long after I brought it out (almost completely forgot about it). I really didn't expect fursuit pieces to sell at a con (thought most people came prepared), but I guess I was wrong. Pleasantly surprised.

Anyway... yeah. Fun times.
