So I woke up at 12:40pm today to the sound of people walking back to our accomodation talking excitedly, before I realised that our results had been published 10 minutes earlier. Its a wonder I remembered at all.

Dispite this less-than-committed start to the day, it appears I have achieved a distinction. This is also a small wonder, considering, like most work I do, the project was completed pretty much as last minuite as you can get. I started it two weeks before the deadline when most people had been working for nearly 3 months already....

I don't reccomend this as a healthy lifestyle, those two weeks were spent with the minimum of sleep and surviving on pizzas and coffee. When we hit the deadline, I went straight to bed at lunch time and slept for 18 hours solid.

Well, its been nearly a year since I updated this journal at the beginning of my course. I thought it would be appropriate to finally add an entry now that I have just finished the Art Foundation Course at Falmouth.

For anyone who wants to know, I have an unconditional offer to study graphic design at Falmouth next year and I am now waiting on my final mark for foundation.

This year has been pretty insane, I have learnt so much about art and more importantly about myself.

I think its funny how both the culmination of my art and my thoughts can be summed up in this outcome :



It seems a pointless statement but, for me, its a step forward. Philosophy is defintly something you have a love/hate relationship with.

Exciting stuff people; you can now get prints of your favorite pieces!

Most notably, you can get a 12" x 18" print of the abstract + birds: optimized (get it here: [link] ! ) for under 12 pounds ($18), I have a print myself and it looks amazing. Its going to bring my uni wall to life methinks.

I am also uploading my other images as well. So far 'A little Red' and 'Three' are up there. I tried uploading redemption but it rejected it so I will have to figure out what went wrong before I try that again.

If anyone has any specific requests of images they want printed out then send me a note and I will prioritise uploading it.

Don't you just love being an artist? I am so excited about the rest of my life right now; a week to go before I go off to Falmouth art college where I am going to have such a brilliant time. Art is now the central figure head of my life....it, well, is my life.....how sad is that??

Just one featured artist this time since my fingers are itching to 'alt-tab' back into photoshop right now.

This guy had a DD last week which is how I picked him up. Everytime I look at his page I am absolutly blown away by his work. I love colour; almost all my art works toward including as many different tone/shades/hues as possible. However I cannot get close to the skill of '~LimKis'. As far as I am concerned he is a master of colour and my new God

So, this is going to be a plce for looking at artists around dA and identifying the really talented ones out there for everyone to see! I will of course be looking at people who have influenced me and whose art *I* really like (so sorry anime buffs....probably not going to happen here).

So without further delay, here are some of the artist I have been looking at recently:

So lets start this off with 'ketchup-Suicide'.

This artist has a really varied gallery with plenty of exciting tihngs to look at. The work I relaly like are those in the style of 'Going down?' [link] which is very atmospherec and highly expressive. Great stuff!

Next lets look at ~Karamula,

I really like her style, it is very different and extremely interesting to look at.

One of my favorites of hers is 'Rain' [link] a very subtle yet quite dramatic image. She has used great colour and tone for a beautiful effect

Onto my art, I completed another abstract painting last night which was quite a marathon. I really need to learn to think things through before I start rather than just diving in and getting in a mess. My next image (which I will be starting in a few mins) I think I will spend a bit of time planning out what I want to do and I what I want to achieve.

I also just got my A-level results. 2 As and a B. (A in art, A in economics and B in maths). I also managed to get 100% in art so thats a pretty damn good result!
