01. The first original character I fell in love with:
*egriz's Bidwell, back during the TLOZ when he was still pretty much a OC version of Marth. You really couldn't help but love him. Poor guy's a single father to a hellion whose family pretty much all died and he's busy trying to fix everything. :C /me hugs Bidwell

02. The original character I never expected to love as much as I do now:
... Oddly enough, probably my own Riley. When I invented him he really was kind of a shallow character, you know, not really a PERSON so much as just a plug-in BAD GUY. He kind of purposefully wasn't SUPPOSED to be likeable, but he developed into this really interesting and (in some very, very twisted lights) sympathetic character. I really love him a lot now, and I'm enjoying giving him a larger part in my story rewrite.

I will not be excessively online for a few days because, genius that I am, I remembered to pack everything EXCEPT the charger for my laptop. Which only has a 2 hour battery life. And which I actually need to use for my program music & creative writing classes. FMLLLLLLL.

SO, those of you that have the number, text my cellphone if you want to talk (or better yet, CALL ME), and those of you that don't, I'll talk to you once I have more of an accessible internet life.

The school DOES still have computer labs _{that I will be living in} so I can still check email at least once a day, but they are PUBLIC, ie OTHER PEOPLE USE THEM AND THERE ARE ONLY SO MANY COMPUTERS (read: NOT MACS), so I don't guarantee I'll check email or DA messages more than that.


In other news, moved into the dorm, school is shaping up to be FUCK YEAH!, the sun is shining, and classes start tomorrow, which, for some reason, I'm actually excited about.

Okay, so 8 things about me, well here goes:
1. I know kung fu. _{Well technically it's tae kwon do which is completely different, but there's no cheesy, overdone internet meme for that.}
2. Because of #1, whenever I watch martial arts movies with my friends I feel the need to comment and then get super jazzed up and try to teach my friends different moves.
3. Lindsey has fallen into trash cans because of this.
4. Lindsey also tipped a canoe we were in over once on an overnight camping/canoeing trip.
5. The canoe was filled with our camping food and about two bags full of dried ice. It looked REALLY cool when it filled up with water, because the dried ice pretty much EXPLODED and covered a whole section of the river in thick fog.
6. The last two weren't really about myself, and neither was this one.
7. I really, really love Frank Sinatra.
8. My heart s full of massive, massive love for all of the Keating Crew. You have no idea how flipping massive. I love you guys.

I have just been so happily overwhelmed with- with everything having to do with the inauguration. I was touched during the candidacy, proud to vote for on election day, ecstatic when the votes were tallied, and having been watching the news as much as I can the past few days, utterly, utterly moved with hope. President Obama has always been a wonderful orator, and of course he aligned most prominently with my own views during campaigning, but I do understand something about the unfortunate reputation for politicians, whether they be well-meaning or not, and with a conservative best friend acting as my somewhat pessimistic reality check (I'm sure she'd say otherwise) I was confident in my decision but still wary that things might not have been as clear-cut and divided as things always seem during an election. But Obama's conduct, as well as that of his staff and associates, has thoroughly impressed me. And then a few minutes ago, he made a comment (paraphrasing of course) in his address to the White House staff about their jobs being "public service... not to push through one set of ideals but to carry out the will of the American people" and I burst into tears because that's so very much what I believe and wanted to hear after what seems like an age of split politics.

My inner politikos is irrevocably in love with this new presidency. Of course, having been in love myself, I know that you risk being hurt that much more, and I know that these first few years will not be easy. There's still a lot of chances for things to go wrong, and I'm just praying with all the hope in my heart that America's needs will really be met.

Dunno if I'll actually get any art up on time, but (besides working on CC) I am drawing something. ~Karma321 and ~egriz and I were kind of having a joke conversation about "sexy Rae"- as in, Rae not necessarily LOOKING but ACTING sexy, and whether such a thing were possible, so I of course cackled with mad glee and decided at once I had to try it. So. It is in the making.
