It is always most ideal to take a cat to the veterinarian, and if there is any chance of this, please do it. However, considering how common cat bites are, if you don't have enough money to treat their wound, if the wound is squeezed out, and gently disinfected by flushing it out, it will heal just fine. If you do choose to do this, wear gloves, as the infection may be human-transmittable. If nothing is done, the infection by anaerobic bacteria will spread and possibly kill the cat. Anaerobic bacteria are bacteria that survive without air, and they are some of the most dangerous bacteria to possibly infect an animal.

I would also like to note that engraving your phone number or name on dog tags is one of the most useful things you can do for identifying your dog, since it allows easy return of the animal, especially a cell-phone number.

Keep your dog's nails clipped. It prevents them from becoming ingrown. Also, please either clean their teeth, or take them to get dentals regularly, since dogs get terrible tartar and tooth decay from eating dogfood, causing tooth loss or infection.

If you have cats, please please keep them indoors. I have been working at a clinic, and a lot of the cats that come in have horrible injuries from animals like dogs or coyotes, or are infected with the viruses Feline Leukemia and FIV(similar to aids in humans), which are usually passed through cat fights. Even vaccinated animals are not immune to getting these viruses, and they are much safer than they are in outdoor environments.

Lastly, if you are going to buy an animal, set aside the money to take care of it. The price of owning an animal is massively more than the price you will pay initially buy it, as no matter how careful you are, something will happen to your pet.

Anyways...I really am hoping I can finish a good 2d piece soon.

I went crazy and sewed a white anthro wolf in a day and two hours. I'd feel proud of myself if I didn't cut my finger with thread in the process, but I did. So I'll have to put off sewing other things for now. I need to finish my commissions, and then stop sewing. The end.

I also watched Cool World, and it didn't assault my mind, and enrage me as much as I thought it would. I should get back to working on my thesis now.

I'm kind of sad really, Hellsing was a great fandom, and I was never seriously into it enough to become disappointed when things were somewhat predictable(it wasn't cheesy though, I was quite happy). And I called the ending somewhere in Vol. 8, I think.

But, there are a few really good series I have been exposed to for the last few years. My recommendations are as follows:

-First: Noein. It is not the best series ever, but as an original production, a lot of thought went into the story and characters, and though they ran out of money in several places during the series, it started, moved and ended very nicely, with a very unique style. And it's probably the most interesting particle physics series ever.

-Second: Le Chevalier D'Eon. Because of zombie frenchmen, and a guy who turns into his badass sister when he's in trouble. And all of the interesting twists and conspiracy.

-Third: Kurau, Phantom Memory: It actually has an interesting story behind it's two female main characters and the alien race in the story, and weaves everything together with a good balance of action, character development, backstory, and a very strong story with no fillers.

-Fourth: Tsukikage Ran. A very unusual little series that was mostly comedy, but has a few serious episodes, it weaves everything about it's two female main characters together with charm and an amusing story.

On my roadtrip, I saw two really awesome animals, which would be a bobcat and cub, and what my brother and I believe was a wild mexican wolf. We thought it was a wolf because it was the size of a largish dog, and had a more orange-looking coloration, longer fur around the neck, and a tail that was black until about half-way up, rather than the normal tanish color that coyotes have in that neck of the woods, and the usual small size of the animals, but we can't be sure.

I'll be working on those request pictures whole-heartedly, and put up some of my original art which I've been drawing recently.

Working on a project relating insect diversity to treefall gaps. Broke someone's brain trying to explain what "insect traplines" were.

-Saw two toucans
-found out that small birds can make really loud noises
-spotted and flung a medium-sized scorpion off of someone.

My week has been long and I lost some thumb-flesh to my bulb-cutter. Looking forward to my thursday off.

-Still have darkstalker and the grey wolf to do. All other recent requests are finished in sketch form.

-Also drew some of the Elders and Shark people.

-Will try to do more story development.

-Am seriously thinking about doing some short comics relating to my trip to Panama.

We're radio-tracking bats and katydids, so I'm up during the night really late. We work in shifts monitoring the spacial distribution of the different critters we're studying, and I have a shift from 3-5 am.

I'm also almost done with Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, which is a great game, and very addictive. A little short though. I was surprised.

My birthday is in a little more than a week. Holy crap, I'm turning 21 next Friday.

Howl's Moving Castle- I think we've all heard of that one, but great movie. Has an interesting cast, and good animation.

Lady Hawke- 1985 fantasy movie, apart from the 80's tastic music, it's a great movie about a man and a woman seperated because the man is a wolf by night, and the woman is a hawk by day. I have to say, seeing a wolftrapper getting his head caught in a wolftrap was well worth watching the whole movie.

Evil Dead 2- You can't NOT love this movie. It's awesome and features a disembodied hand flicking it's owner off.

Rosiana: A neat anime-artist who draws very nice faces and outfits. Damn, I need her fashion sense for my pictures.




Svsitis: A stranger surreal artist I have not known, but her creativity is great. She does not rely on enormous amounts of blood and gore to make her pictures have an edgy feel to them. She's a talented painter as well.




And that was it for the people asking for a feature.

On other notes, I can't say I appreciate people who draw or like wolves because they feel it is cool and goth, and different, and that drawing them snarling, growling, fighting or with mouths dripping copious amounts of blood is in any way interesting or original, as it makes up about 95% of art drawn about wolves. It's boring. Read a few books about them, and draw me something that I haven't seen a thousand times before. I'm bored. Tell me a new story.

On the flipside of this, I ask for criticism, and I'm more than happy to have people tell me that I am drawing something cliche and dumb, as long as it has some kind of constructive side to it. I honestly appreciate people pointing out what sucks in my art. It helps me improve.

I'm currently trying to finish the series Blood+, which is weird because I wasn't too interested before, but it drew me in anyways.
It's a pretty entertaining series, and I like it.

Besides that..uh... I've been wasting time. It's actually a fun thing to do.

Sleeping, eating and visiting friends. There isn't too much drawing happening, I'm sure I'll get back to it when I have to work again.

I have done a few fanscribbles, but nothing major. I actually did a decent picture of Nausea, but it's still just a scribble. I think I'm getting it, but she ended up looking a bit like Usagi with megalips.

I only have one day left on my organic chemistry class, then I'm free. I haven't had much free time, so everyone will have to excuse the lack of updates, or rping, or anything else I've not been so sharp on.

Anyways, got the game Darkstalkers 3, haven't played it yet. My ps2 is not only disconnected, but doesn't currently read ps1 games. Oh well.

Got my pupils dialated. I can't see and it's giving me a bit of a headache.

I've gotten addicted to Gunslinger Girl, which is really worthwhile to see, and I bought a Darkstalkers artbook. I heard I missed a Drakengard artbook with human versions of the dragons, so I'm really very bummed about that.

On that same note, I JUST bought Run Ishida's Darkstalkers: Nightwarriors, and it should be shipped to me soon. I'm very excited.

I've been trying to get my hands on it for a long time, since apparently, it's the only non-doujin Darkstalkers comic out there, besides the incomplete Udon version.

Anyways, I'm back to studying, but now I have BETTER reading material.

I'm still doing my requests and stuff. I'll probably finish the Griffonile soon.

I actually have Totenveloren's b-day present done, but I don't have time to pen him in, so I'll do that tomorrow.

School's been out for a while now, but I am taking a summer class in Organic chemistry, so I'm quite busy during the week. I take a few days off, but I usually try and make them "productive" days..which means I'm not at the house. Anyways, that said, I'll try and get everything done asap, but it's hard, because most of my drawings have been done while I'm in class.

I'll get stuff done, don't worry.

First ten people who respond, I pick 3 nice works in their gallery, and say a little bit about them, and what I like about their works.

I have great respect for anyone who can work with digital mediums. She excels at this, and makes wonderfully consistant character design, and works wonders with poses.

The digital medium for this piece is really very facinating. I like the hints of realism.
[link] I think this piece is a very interesting depiction of a kiss. I think it looks like a bite, but I like the forms of the characters in it.
[link] I really like the staff, and pose in this one.

A very talented sculptor, and artist in her own right, I think that the colors and shapes she renders remind me of things from my past, like old christmas orniments, and wooden sculptures I had as a kid. Very professional works, and great poses and characters.

[link] I'm very fond of this piece. The glaze and the colors are a good contrast, I think it looks very professional and well-done. Impressive work.
[link] Simple, but effective, it's a graceful, and somehow touching, perhaps even sentimental, piece.
[link] I've always thought that anyone with a fedora looks cool. But this pose and the expression make it work for me.

is a talented deviant from just about any perspective, whether drawing humans or animals, fanart or not. His work is really impressive, and usually has very detailed anatomy and muscles. The poses are generally very observant of real life, and the artist's level of skill is very impressive.
[link] This picture really grabbed me, I think it might be the shiny skin above all, but the detail in the pose and anatomy really drew me in.
[link] The realism in this picture shocks me, and the lighting is a beautiful and surprising element. I think it captures the artist's versitility well.
[link] There is something downright disturbing about these hellhounds. I find their anatomy both facinating and frightening at the same time.

It was actually very hard to chose which work I was going to feature from this deviant, because all of her works are so detailed, and careful. I always marveled in the smoothness of the color, and the thin, clean black lines that surround her characters. There is always a warm sort of glow about them, and they create a feeling of happiness, or comfort. They are generally very light-hearted and a joy to look at.

Please send a detailed description of the character, and a few reference pictures please. I have a hard time drawing things just from pictures because my brain is stupid and needs to go from a realistic image, to my stylized one, or at least I'd like to think so. Anyways, send me as much info on their personality, who they hang with, what they like to do, and most of all, what they look like, and I'll do it.

Uhh, rememeber I'm better at creatures, animals and monsters than people and mechas. If you really want me to do a picture of a person it will take me a long time, and most likely be kinda crappy. Heh ::Scratch head::

These are photographs of dead animals, some of which were taken of farmed foxes who were killed and skinned for coats, and some of which are coyotes from a coyote killing contest, one of which will take place soon.

Coyotes are often killed as pests for their predation on lifestock, though they themselves rarely pose a threat to humans.
