Wrong. Out of the box it didn't work. The programming for it kept telling me I needed to partition it.

Ok. Whatever. I got one of my more computer literate friends () to come over and look at it. After about two hours and a phone call to her father, she had it running. Angel from heaven. Then it started getting funky. It would only appear in My Computer for a short time - if my computer ran too long it went away. I said ok, my computer is ten years old. Shit like this happens. I can handle it.

So then I loaded on all 7 gigabites of my itunes library onto it. Thought we were good. Deleted files from computer.

iTunes freaked out and made me reupload. About three hundred were missing but I figured I could handle it. Next time I checked the computer, all the music was gone off the external hard drive. WTF. Took some pictures off my computer and put them on the external drive. Restarted computer. Files were still there. Ok, I thought, I'll just restart my computer each time this happens. The files I originally put on the drive are still there, I bet this will work.

So I booted up ol' Music Rescue. Plugged in my iPod and set all my music to copy over to the external hard drive. It got maybe 8 albums and some podcasts on when Music Rescue quit. I tried to reopen it. It made horrible thinking noises and told me I didn't have an iPod connected. Disconnected and reconnected iPod. Nothing worked.

Well shit son.

In other news I saw Sweeney Todd : The Demon Barber of Fleet Street tonight. I have been an avid fan of the musical and was excited for the movie. (See , my other account, for STD BFS lol stuff. Yeah, btw, STD BFS. It's a real disease. I've most definitely got it.)

Overall. If you want Sweeney Todd the Tim Burton film, that's what you get. It's a good movie, cut down to the right length, with cool effects and excellent acting (although several times I wondered why Capt Sparrow was saying those things, and where in the hell Harry was). It's slasher at its classiest, and gory to say the least. Those unfamiliar with the plot and story and music will enjoy it.

Those vaguely aware of the plot and music will enjoy it.

Those freakishly obsessed with the musical will be ... amused by it. The producers were very clear that this was a movie, not the musical.

And yet the musical was all I wanted to see. And now I miss it. The acting fell flat for me, the characters (especially Lovett) were the other extreme of their Broadway counterparts. No longer were the ridiculous, dark satirical stage actors, they were professional, soft spoken, film actors who emoted with their facial expressions and eyes (and the lighting, or lack there of) in the scene.

Am I disappointed? Uhm. To some extent. As much as one can be disappointed with something they love. It's not an I'm angry disappointment, it's a I wish I could see what I had seen disappointment. Am I making sense? No? Good.

Antony is the pretty boy. Joanna is Loopy Luna Lovegood. So much older looking its freaking WEIRD.

I have a Secret Santa gift to post tonight, packing to do, and college stuff to send. I leave for Pittsburgh in the morning.

12:17 Back at Coffee Hound. Get Lemon Cookie and 16 oz Crack-in-a-Cup (White Frappe)
1:17 Back at school. Rehearsal.
1:30 Find out I don't rehearse until 2:30. Discuss marketing options with Kyle, my gay boyfriend (his family is sure we're dating. Boy do they have a surprise coming...)
2:30 Rehearse and Paint Set
5:06 Leave school.
5:13 Get home, grab flute.
5:18 Go to flute lesson
6:18 Get to Tori's house to do stupid Physics Lab Report. Die.
7:27 Get home.
7:37 Finally eat.

Omighod it was like the longest day EVAH and was SUPER STRESSFUL AND I DIDN'T EVEN HAVE SCHOOL. UGH. And I've got so much homework still to get done. I have to read some of the Aeneid tonight... yuck. Not to mention I have over 1000 deviations i have to view...sometime !

In other news I'm going to NYC and SPAIN in the spring and totally totally psyched! Espana estare mi viaje primero que no esta en los EEUU. I got my passport the other day. SO EXCITED. Chicago, the fall musical, is going VERY WELL and if you're in the area, NOVEMBER 1-3 7PM PVHS THEATRE.

Well, it's 54 minutes til midnight, here in sunny Bettendorf, IA. And I'm bored. I have a program to do for the Battle of the Bands tomorrow night (btw, if you live the the quad-cities, attend the Battle of the Bands tomorrow evening, 7 pm at the PVHS Theatre - contrary to popular belief, there will be some bands with a semblance of music talent) but I can't start it til i get an email with all the bands and their respective members from the organizer of the event. LAME. I'm dying here.

And I don't really want to do homework. I've got physics, and some prob stats (which is a class I thought I'd sail through but the seas have been rough). which is like whatev~

I need to finish a drawing for 's contest thing. SHAME ON ME. I wonder when that runs out. Shit shit shit. (Well, I guess that ends Tuesday, so I'll probably draw it tomorrow at like midnight. Sounds good).

I guess that's all.

OH! And just to try to contend with the drama-queen-ness that's been all over 's journal, I will be attending Homecoming with my gbf (that's gay boyfriend) Kyle Woollums~~ We like to watch Bravo and eat ice cream together. He asked me last week, which apparently ALL of my friends knew he was gonna but wouldn't tell me XP. It was intense.

Nah, just playin. Well, I have to say, that four-day weekend last week really spoilt me. I wish there was more time to this weekend :-/

If you haven't seen the DDs for today, is one of the artists, and (s)he is freaking awesome. Their style is so original and yet gorgeous. I love it, it's really inspiring. They make me think I could do a comic in Spanish (ahaha, yeah right).

I've been so grossly busy with school and other stuff, I feel like I'm always behind. I wish I had more time to dedicate to art, but I don't feel like I'm overly compelled to draw/paint/whatev anything.

That's probably my problem, I'm just not passionate enough~ oh well :-$

I wish I knew what that emoticon meant...I use it a lot... a lot a lot....

I uber cleaned my room (sort of a deranged form of catharsis). I found a brand new pair of shoes i bought in JULY. Fortunately, they're winter shoes and I can still wear them. Sweet. I also found my cell phone charger. Also a good thing.

I do makeup for my highschool theatre. I'm nothing great, but I like to think that I can handle the job. I've read Corson's Stage Makeup, I've got experience. So today, I wanted to do some to put into a college portfolio.

It was working fine, until the girl supposed to be photographing it started telling me what to do.

She doesn't do makeup. She took the Stagecraft class and suddenly thinks she's all that. Textbooks are barely half the battle hon.

So Dani - Next time you're in my department, and feel the urge to open your mouth and tell me what to do, don't. I've got two years behind me. And, I'll be co-heading the department for all the shows next year. You may be assistant directing, but that doesn't mean I'll listen to you when it comes to things I know. Today you made me question myself, and what I was doing. Steph is the only one allowed to do that, mainly because she's older, and has the experience to call me on my faults. Don't ever do it again.

Monday - Sprained ankles @ rehearsal.

So earlier today while sitting around, I heard a dark/gossipy discussion occuring between 2 people (upperclassman) I knew behind me. One of them I believed myself very close to. I listened as I drew, half paying attention, because what they were saying was interesting. Another girl in my grade has pulled up and sat by them listening, but not talking.

Later, I put down my sketchbook and went over, and I was followed by some people I had been with. As I sat down, one of the two original, the one I thought myself close with, said something like "This is a private conversation that has become too public, I think we should change the subject". WTH. I promptly told her I'd been listening the ENTIRE time, so get over it. And stomped off. I was really, really mad.

All my life I've felt like I'm the person who's always told "Nevermind". Who's not explained the in-jokes. I feel like I have to beg to get the time of day from my own FRIENDS. (Might be why I always wear a watch).

Over spring break, a group of people that I've always known, yet haven't really hung with lately invited me places. I had fun hanging with them. My current group of friends NEVER goes out, or over to others houses, it seems like it's always at my house, or I have to initiate contact. One of my dearest friends has been over to spend the night here like a million times lately, but never invites me over to her house. Ever. When they do all get together, I'm not invited.

I'm sick of not being respected, or even being granted basic friendship. Maybe I'll start hanging out with my other friends more.

Ya’know, the kind where you know something bad should happen, and you’re surprised it hasn’t yet?

And then it does. And you’re crushed?

Yeah. That day.

During English class today the teacher told us to go off and write thank you notes (type ‘em). I moved over to the class next door – it was the teacher’s, Mr. Fry’s, prep period so a group of us were in there on his computers.

Big mistake.

The one I sat down at was off, so I pressed a few buttons on the tower and it popped on and started loading. It was all going normal, and almost done with on the black screen white words appeared that said “I’m still here.”!! Freakiest thing EVER!!! Then, once the desktop loaded the background had THE MATRIX falling green symbols design! Mr. Fry came in and asked, “How’d you get that moniter to work? It’s been broken for two weeks…”

So I was, none the less, freaked out.

Then later today I found out a trip I payed $100 already for I wasn’t signed up to go on. WTF?! Pretty much pissed/depressed. I almost cried. Almost.

Oh the DRAMA! I am almost afraid for tomorrow- the whole Ides of March thing. Ah well!

The last thing I want this to become is a xanga-like-thing, but I'm gonna rant a little here.

This weekend me an' meh crew will be taking off to Des Moines, Iowa, for our one con a year. Anime Iowa.

It'll be great. All five of us are staying in one room.

Fun right? Well, three of us are going up early-that very morning, while me and a friend go to school and leave after.

The girl who reserved the room said it will be $50 a person for the room. Even though it's 5 of us for a $200 dollar room, she say's her fifty dollars is going towards gas for their car.

Notice I said their.

So basically, I'm paying extra money because we're not all going in the same car. Her gas money is worthless to me. It's not helping me get there! The plan is totally flawed and those riding in that car should be the ones paying! Why the hell am I contributing extra !?!

It pisses me off. But not super-pissed off. Just kinda ticked. Annoyed, really. A little irate.

I have this one guy friend. We've been friends for, like, two years now, and during one point even went out. (It wasn't really real....) When him and me are hanging out, or just talking on the phone we get along great. We actually seem like friends. When we're at school, he practically ignores me tho! I don't get it whatsoever. I'm kind of starting to hate him for this, but don't want to because we've been friends for years now.
