LOL sorry for the random journal title...just popped into my head so I had to write it of course.

So, since everyone else is doing it...or quite a few people who I watch anyway, I'm gonna post my wishlist. x)

- Gift art is LOVED And it doesn't have to be just a drawing, I like avatars and other stuff too.
- A subscription would be cool
- For everyone in my family or who I know to get better! If you're a praying sort of person, I'd really appreciate if you would pray. Here's a sort of summary:
My dad's knee - he had surgery but it still hurts him and now he might need new hips, eventually.
My aunt has 3 different kinds of blood cancer - she's not old either, only about 45 or so.
My mom has really bad arthritis and has for the past 3 years and it hurts me to see her hobbling around now.

- Converse I've been meaning to get myself a pair but I just haven't gotten around to it. *pokes parents*
- More snow. Can't have too much of it.
- To spread the LURVE You guys deserve it!

So, there you have it. x) And as far as art goes, I really apologize about not having page 4 of my comic done. Really. I just forget and forget and put it off and ugh. It'll either be here by New Years or during Thanksgiving, I promise.
Other than that the only art I know that I'll upload for sure between now and Christmas is my ESS gift and...*drumroll* a surprise! So stay tuned.

EDIT: It's over, we're all fine here...how are you? Sorry it took me so long to update this journal. So. Now. ON TO THE ARTZ

There's a major storm warning for where I live...they're talking about evacuation for people who live on lower ground. Our town is basically on a little spit between the ocean on one side and a river on the other, so any high water means someone gets hit.

I'm not worried about my family really - we live on the second floor of our building and on the higher end of town so we'll be safe from the water. Just if the power goes out, we could get a little cold if it stays out for long. The thing I'm most worried about is my birdies, because they're so little and fragile and I don't want them to get hurt.

But anyway, I mainly wanted to let you all know that if I do disappear for a little while, that's why - the power went out. So yup.
See you on the other end of things.

So, I think it's cool that everyone on the site gets to use the journal skins...but I'm glad it's only for a limited time too. After all, people who paid for their subs should have more special priviledges than us lowly users, right?

That's not really what I was going to write about though. Just thought I'd share my opinion.

But guess what? IT'S SNOWING FINALLY I'm super duper excited because it's been so bland and clear and sunny and brown here and it looks so pretty now with everything white.

And so. I am officially in the holiday jolly mood and I really need to get my lazy butt going because guess what? Jadey's going on vacation for Christmas for the first time EVAR! Yup. My family's leaving on December 12th and we won't be back until the 28th, so I just realized last night that if I want to be able to submit Christmas gifts for people on here, I'd better get a move on because before I know it, it'll be the new year and then I'll be in deep yogurt.

So...I'd better post this before I yak your ears off, erm...eyes off...or...whatever.

It's that time of year again!

For those of you who don't know National Novel Writing Month is a thing where for the month of November, you try to write a 50,000 word story. Or novel. Whichever word you prefer. They have a website here - [link] and you can sign up and record your word count to see your progress and the progress of others. It's pretty fun!

Last year I tried on an impulse and failed majorly, mainly because I had no planning ahead of time and whatnot. But! This year I am going to do my best to FINISH WHAT I STARTED. So there. Ha. Anyway, my username on the side is Sleepwalking, if anyone wants to add me as a buddy. I had a different account last year but I can't even remember my old username...how lame is that? Yeah. Pretty lame with a capital 'L'...
As far as my novel goes, I have 800 words written so far tonight and I'll probably be staying up until I finish my daily quota...I hate getting behind because I never catch up. *headdesk*

If you wish to request a breeding with us, please note ~JediSword with the subject "Breeding Request". In the note include which of our stallions you wish to breed with and a link to your mare. 'Ello, 'ello, 'ello! Seems like forever since I wrote a journal entry...it's only been a few weeks though lol.
Anyway, I'm thinking about opening some trades...would anyone be interested? If so, cool. If not, too bad. x)

Oh, and my eye's better! They decided it was an infection and gave me different drops to put in for a week, and it's all better now. That makes me happy because I hate not being able to see right. I couldn't stand it if I was blind. x)

Wull...I like my eyes They're kind of a creepy goldish green. =x

That I can't talk to people like a normal person. I mean, I can, but when someone starts talking to me I generally just nod and go "yup...cool...yup" and that kind of thing. *headdesk*

A few years ago I was in a hotel and some random lady came up and said I was pretty.

Oh, heck, when you have a little brother the list is endless. I can't remember the very worst thing, but I get called a midget on a daily basis.

Placing 5th in the Regional xc running race and going to State. That's the most recent thing anyway. I'm also proud of how my art has improved since I joined dA and that I'm a decent skiier.

6. #1 thing your most ashamed of?
Being different. It's complicated, but my town isn't so accepting of people who don't fit the right mold and it annoys me that I can't be accepted. I don't know if that really counts as being ashamed, but it's the closest thing I can thing of.

7. #1 best thing you've done with your life so far?
Given my life to Jesus.

8. #1 Biggest mistake you've made with your life so far?
Um. I dunno if I have time to write them all down. XD
Well...the most recent one was probably eating too much pizza. And yelling at my brother.

9. Worst time or your life?
A few summers ago, right before I moved here and I was being dumb and bratty because I didn't want to move. I just kinda dug myself into a hole of self-pity. x)

10. Best time of your life?
RACING and being with people I love. It's so much fun when you only see them in person a couple times during the year. Well, it would be more fun if I could see all of them every day, but it's so special when we're together only a few times. Because. You know.

11. If you were born into a different life, what kind of life would it be?
Something like the girl in Princess Diaries - the movies, not the books. The books suck. But yeah. Only I wouldn't be so clumsy or fall in love with so many dumb guys.

12. if you died tomorrow what would you do with you last day on earth?
Probably...eat chocolate and ice cream and just have lots of fun with my family. Even just looking at old photos and remembering and telling stories.

I can!

Secondly, my mom had a stroke. Not a big one, because she didn't even know it was a stroke until she went to the ER and they told her what happened. But it turns out she has some kind of genetic disorder that runs in her family, so we've spent the last week in doctors offices and labs and stuff. Real fun. But now we're home and she doesn't need a doctor here. So it's all good.

As far as art...I lost my old digital camera so I got a new one, a Canon PowerShot A480 and it's red and I love it. I took some neat flower pictures that I'll try to put up here. I've been drawing, sketching mostly but now that I'm home I'll start up with digital art again. Yay!

So yup...that's my summer in a nutshell. Hope you all had a good one, and are still having a good one

_{So, I thought I'd open up some breeding spots for whoever might be interested. So...yup. Here's how it goes -

- Comment on this journal with which one of my characters you want to breed with and what character of yours you want to use
- I need to see a ref of your charrie, preferably one that shows both sides
- Once I okay the breeding, you must draw a breedpic that has both of our characters in it. No using lineart please, it has to be your own doing. And no headshots either, I'd like to see the whole thing.
- When you show me the breedpic, I'll post the drawing of your foal, but no sooner than that.
- Please, please do not abandon/ignore the foal! It would be awesome if you could post a ref for them and show me it as soon as you can, but I do understand if you're not the kind of person who likes to make refs and would just rather draw the foal in regular pictures. That's fine, I just want to make sure you're actually giving the poor little thing some attention.

So...lately, I've been pretty busy with school and so when I have free time, I just want to kinda you know...veg. Chill out. Not stress myself over working on a project or something. But it's frustrating me, because I haven't completed any drawings in a while. And I love drawing, otherwise I wouldn't be on this site. x) But the good news is, there's a retired teacher here who's giving another girl art lessons and he wants me to join them. So I said yeah. It'll be traditional art I'm sure, hopefully painting (the guy's a great wildlife artist) and I think I'll learn a lot. I want to expand, and this is a good opportunity.

One other frustrating thing lol - the weather. Blast it all, the weather here this winter has been so awful it's not even funny.
Last week: windy, moderate temperatures, light snow
This week: -40 degrees for 2 days, blizzard the next day and today finally up to +30 degrees.
I mean, seriously...I would /hate/ to be the weatherman. I can't imagine how hard it would be to predict what's coming tomorrow lol.
So, needless to say, I haven't been skiing that much. -sigh- Such is life.

_{So today's the last day of 2008, and it's a huge reminder of all the things I wanted to do this week but didn't and that I REALLY really really need to do today. So help me. And, it's also a reminder of how fast school is coming back, and all the stuff I'm doing in this next semester. Bleh.
But, it's a good thing too. Time for new beginnings and hey, next year when I look and see what my art was like at the beginning of 2009 it will be way better at the beginning of 2010 At least, I want it to be. So, here we go.

_{Last night I had a dream that some weird guy threw a knife at me...it was a weird knife, like the kind they find with mummies or skeletons in Indiana Jones or something. You know, like the kind where the blade is rock or something. ANyway, it like stuck in the side of my neck and I woke up before I got to the hospital. I've been having really weird dreams lately...it's been hard to sleep for some reason. All my dreams make me wake up upset, either feeling like I want to cry or that I'm not working hard enough and I need to get up and get going but I can't because it's 4 in the morning. x) Yeah.

Anyway, I've been thinking about doing a comic of my charrie White Alice. I'm just wondering if people will actually read it though, and if my doing one will make me seem well...like a copy cat. I don't want to do one just because everyone else is doing one, though that has inspired me to do something like that. I'm already kinda started, so even if you think it's a terrible idea...too bad. Unless everyone hates it, then I'll get the hint and stop.}

So. I think I'm finally getting it. So before, I couldn't use pictures of horses as refs. Ever. All I could really use were other drawings of horses and that's probably not the best way to go. But now, I can use real pictures! I don't know why it was so hard for me before, but now I feel like I can really get the anatomy down and start on harder stuff.

And...*drumroll* I got Adobe Photoshop CS! *happydance* It's pretty similar to GIMP it seems, so I haven't had much trouble getting started but I know I still have a lot to learn. So expect ART

_{EDIT: My dad said if I can't get GIMP to work again, he'll have the tech guys put Adobe Photoshop CS on there. x) So...yeah.
Not that it matters a whole lot...

So my dad got my computer system updated to Leopard today and thankfully nothing went poof.

EXCEPT almost the most important thing. Guess what doesn't work now?

Yup. GIMP.

Am I just overlooking something obvious or do I need to try and re download it and then it will work? If anyone knows, please tell me. D= For now, I'm just googling and trying to find free paint programs that work well...again, if you know of one, tell me please.

Also, YIM still won't download properly. Gah. Oh well...it isn't life or death I suppose}

I am not including Eclipse or Bella, because they aren't really regular charries of mine.

Rules

1. No premade lineart. Use your own work.
2. Even if you are, say, drawing Jax as a dog, you have to have the same coloring. You can't make the dog brown or whatever, and just make it look like it has Jax's attitude.
3. Don't copy other people's entries. There's thousands of creatures for you to choose from, it shouldn't be too hard. But it is okay to do the same animal as another person, even the same character, just as long as it's obvious the drawing was completely inspired by you and you alone, and not influenced by someone else's.
4. No fantasy, sci-fi, equine or humans.

I will judge on effort and creativity, so don't be afraid to do something totally weird if you feel like it. As long as I can recognize that what you drew is my charrie, I'm good.
