Bad news: I was drawing my xmas Kim but run out of motivation -again-. It's been a tough year for me in my personal life but I won't annoy you with the same three-tone blues, just tell you that I'm not in the mood of drawing. I'm just depressed. But I'm not sad!!! I try and fight my depression with a big grin :D

Good news: it's hot summer here in the southern hemisphere and I'm heading to Brazil again, that's gonna bring some joy and fun to my life. How I wish I was working and living there, but that's not easy to accomplish. Life's a beach...

As I've been a good boy all year long Santa brought me a brand new camera: the Canon EOS 50D [link] with a 18-200mm kit. That's not precisely a toy, so I'm playing with it to get used to the new features. Now I'll be able to shoot better quality pics, although that does not mean I'll shoot good pics. There's a big difference between a high-quality pic and a good shot, meaning you don't need a high-tech camera to shoot a good artistic and well composed pic. I'll learn step by step, and maybe I'll take some photograph lessons.

There was KP on TV this morning, on a local channel her in Buenos Aires so I watched it and felt really happy to see her on TV like in the good old times, seems channel 13 bought the fourth season rights to Disney and there she is. Pity I have to work everyday and can't watch the show in the morning, but at least today the day seem to have begun the right way.

I'm, owing a lot of requests, I know and I have not forgotten. I've been promising to have'em done but y'know... just be patient.

Datos que surgen de la mitología popular son sus amantes y noches de copas, el perrito compañero que siempre tenía cuando era chico, su trabajo como lustrabotas en la estación Constitución aquí en Buenos Aires, su inseparable amigo "el ruso", etc.
Un valioso recuerdo de mi niñez es el de un cafetero que vivía allá en Pompeya, que andaba en una bicicleta negra con los termos de café y los vasitos a cuesta y las botamangas por debajo de las medias para que no le molestaran al pedalear. En el barrio todos lo llamábamos "Gatica" o "paragua" -como cariñosamente llamamos a los nacidos en el Paraguay o descendientes de ellos- y a veces pasaba por el almacén de mi viejo a comprar algo y a conversar un rato.
Decía ser Jesús María Gatica, hermano del fallecido boxeador.
Cuenta que una vez lo acompañó a su hermano en ocasión de un combate que tendría lugar en Tucumán, y que se quedaron sin dinero para regresar, por lo que tuvieron que improvisar una pelea entre ellos para recaudar fondos y volver a Buenos Aires. Gatica vs. Gatica, supongo que debe haber sido un encuentro clandestino del que no hay registro oficial que me llegó indirectamente a través de mi padre o que escuché de boca del hermano del "mono", la memoria me falla. Esto sucedió hace más de veinte años y yo era chico, hay cosas que recordamos con mucha nitidez y otras que se vuelven muy difusas con el paso del tiempo.
Hace unos días la interrogué a mi madre, quien aún tiene contacto con gente del barrio donde nací, para saber si ella tenía algún dato nuevo de la vida de este hombre y me contó que hace años que no lo veía, suponiendo que ya ha fallecido. Lo último que sabía es que se había mudado junto con su hermana a otra parte del mismo barrio y que seguía vendiendo café en el cementerio de Chacarita.
Historias de barrio, de gente pobre, de buenos amigos, de trabajadores ignotos, de luchadores de todos los días que caen de bruces en la lona golpeados por el durísimo puño de la vida pero que saben levantarse otra vez para seguir dando pelea.
Quería compartir esta diminuta historia cuya veracidad me es imposible de determinar fehacientemente pero cuyo grato recuerdo atesoro en mi memoria de argentino.

This is it, I'm a year older, I've just turned 33. And know what? It feels great!!!

It's a double birthday, cause it's been a year since I joined deviantart, on june 16th. If I'd had put a journal 4 days after I joined, nobody would have read it then, cause I had no watchers at that time. And look now, I just can't think of thanking everyone of you individually without making a mile long journal!!! Boo-yah!!!

I came here to share my drawings of Kim Possible, although I had some other crap in my hard disk. I traced, and modified the tracings then and I had fun. But then I met the awesome artists here, and felt like improving a little, and as time goes by I feel my drawings are getting a little better. No, they're not awesome, nor perfect: I know all my flaws and get a little sometimes, but I've promised myself to bring you better quality each time and I'll try my best to. After all, I'm just a computers technician so what did you expect??? :lol:

I love you all, I'm really happy to have all of you around, you've been really great friends all this time, providing me with useful feedback, flattering, making good comments and jokes and having a good time. And this is just the first of many more years, I guess... :D

But party is not over... plus, today in Argentina is the "flag's day". No, it's not independence day, that's on another date, but we commemorate the day Manuel Belgrano died being him the creator or designer or main promoter of our flag. I'm not nationalist, but it feels very nice to have been born in this date, I love my flag.

Thanks a lot to each and everyone of you, from the bottom of my heart I really mean what I say.

He's a skater and graffiti artist, and sometimes I see him sketching at work. Bueno, mis 8 cositas:

1. No practico deportes. Nunca fui bueno para ninguno, pero ocasionalmente puedo jugar al paddle, correr en kartings o jugar paintball. Hace mucho que no hago ninguno de los tres, pero disfruto de cualquiera de ellos. Fútbol no, juego peor que las mujeres... :D

2. Me gusta viajar. No solamente salir de vacaciones, disfruto cambiar el paisaje y conocer otros lugares diferentes de donde vivo. Me gustan los viajes largos, los destinos remotos. Hasta ahora lo más lejos que fui fue a Nueva York, pero tengo en mis planes visitar Europa y Asia. Aunque sea solamente una vez en la vida, para darme el gusto.

3. Nunca usé el pelo largo, ni aritos ni tatuajes. Son modas que se van imponiendo en las ciudades y a veces los que se prenden de una moda se terminan arrepintiendo. Cortarse el pelo es fácil, sacarse el arito también, pero arrepentirse de un tatuaje puede salir caro. No tengo problemas con quienes lo usan, pero a mí personalmente no me gustan ninguna de esas cosas.

4. Dejé de fumar! Hace dos años, dejé definitivamente. No fumaba mucho, pero me gustaba. Yo fumaba a los cigarrillos, no me fumaban ellos a mí. La adicción al tabaco es terrible, porque no causa daño inmediato y es realmente placentero. Un pucho después de comer es una de las mejores cosas de la vida... el tema es que después lo pagás con un montón de problemas de salud. Lo extraño mucho al amigo cigarrillo, si llego vivo a los 60 capaz que vuelva a fumar, je je je.

5. Me encanta la década del 80, con la onda flúo y los peinados raros que usaban las chicas. Los dibujitos de He-Man, mi primer walkman, etc. Walkman es un pasacassette portátil. Cassette es una cajita con una cinta magnética con canciones, antes del CD se
usaba eso.... estoy viejo. La música de los 80 tenía sus cosas buenas y otras no tanto, pero hubo muchas canciones que hicieron historia y que todavía suenan en las radios.

6. No me gusta el vino. Puedo tomar cualquier bebida alcohólica, puedo tomar kerosén, agua de cloaca, lo que sea, pero un vaso de vino me mata. No sé, debe ser cuestión de costumbre, pero no lo disfruto y tomar por obligación no es lindo. A veces acepto una
copa, por cortesía, pero si tengo que elegir yo mismo... un buen Fernet con coca.

7. Me gustaría tener un perro, pero vivo en un departamento chiquito y los animales sufren en ambientes reducidos. Además trabajo, y dejarlo solo me daría mucha pena, sobre todo cuando son chiquitos y les gusta jugar y romper todo lo que encuentran a su paso. Los gatos no me gustan mucho. Ahora tengo dos mascotas, un gecko y una lagartija bebé. Los dos en la misma jaula y no se pelean... los reptiles son mascotas prácticas, cuak!

8 Ya tengo las bolas llenas de los tag. Mientras vengan de amigos me los banco, igual, y si fuera posible solamente un tag por mes. O uno sólo por año. Es que se pone difícil encontrar 8 cosas nuevas de uno en cada tag nuevo, vio?

No tagueo a nadie, disculpen porque no sigo esta regla.

I'll spit seven more things about me.... let me think...

1. I am the proud owner of a jeep, I feel it's my son. No, I feel my jeep soul fell into this crap I call a human body, and my real all terrain metal body met me in this life. Weird, of course!!! Don't you believe in re-enjeepation? I do believe in life after jeeps.

2. I love to learn words in foreign languages. In fact, I love to learn languages. Speak Spanish, my mother tongue, this poor English, Portuguese for tourists (still learning), a little of greek, and some words in russian.

3. I have a little gecko for a pet, I brought it from Brazil, hunted it myself. I love it, but eats a lot of spiders and I'm having trouble in getting them. Anyone has one or two spiders at home, but this little reptile needs to eat everyday. And you don't get spiders in the grocery or mart, he he he...

4. I hate cooking. Do it if in extreme need, but hate it. Living in a big city like Buenos Aires makes it easier: a phone call and I have hot food in half an hour. So, almost no need to cook, booyah! I do the laundry and iron myself and don't complain at that.

5. I am a geek. I have a reasonable knowledge about electronics, so I understand many an electric device. I love electronics, in fact, I work as an electronics technician, trying to fix computers and other consumer devices. Self teaching, no university, my high IQ helps me. I know it's above 130, I'll give MENSA [link] a try someday... just curiosity.

6. I am funny, sometimes. I have weird ideas and thougts and they are very funny. Most of the time I'm joking at work and making my mates laugh. But I do not laugh at everything. In fact, it's really hard to make me laugh, jokes must be very original and clever to get a good laughter of the jeep dude. Smiles are for free, of course.

7. I don't go to the movies, but I rather prefer to see a play at the theater. I think it has something to do with the live performance of a show. Now the season is opening here in Buenos Aires, last night I went to see a friend of mine who makes stand up. It was good, not a high profile show, but good enough to make me laugh twice or three times. That's good. And live shows with real people walking on the stage is priceless for me, and don't care if it's a big Broadway show or a cheap underground exercise, those where only the relatives and good friends of the artists come to see, I like both.

I've walked, swimmed, slept, drank, etc., it's been a real good time at the beach. I've managed to tan my skin, drink without getting drunk, met a couple of girls without getting married nor arrested, ha! That's doing alright, I guess. Can't tell you how I love those beaches, damn they're sooooooo beautiful. I drank lots of coconut water [link] ate tapioca [link] stuffed with banana and coconut and, of course, drank caipirinha [link] (brazilian's national drink, containing highly flammable cachaça [link] [link] ) among all other rare juices and foods.

I've walked over 7 miles to get to a peak named "Papagaio" (parrot) with almost 3000 feet high [link] and walked over 12 miles the following day to get to another awesome beach in the island I was spending my last vacation week. Damn I've never walked so much in my whole life. And I do not consider myself a trekker, in fact I was wearing only beach shorts when I made those journeys. Yeah, barefoot and hanging from lianas like Tarzan, no kidding. The path was slippy due to a persistent rain, and I slipped almost falling when waved my hand towards what I thought it was a slim tree... to discover it was a liana. I hold myself to it, and it prevented me from falling and getting my ass dirt with mud and my pride of Indiana Jones hurt.
I got lost in the middle of one dense forest, between bamboo canes 30 feet high, lost the path and could not find it back for half an hour. And I was all by myself... should have brought a map and a compass, he hehe. It was quite an experience, believe me.

I took a trip on a small boat wich guided us thru a couple of islands nearby and some wonderful virgin beaches with blue water where I swimmed. At the end of the day the boat took us to a floating restaurant, and I finished that day eating osters [link] and drinking beer on the boat cause there was no time to eat in the restaurant, it was really awesome. Osters really rock.

I've bought some brazilian folk music CDs, bought half a dozen of colorful shirts (I love buying shirts overseas to bring them home and being asked "where did you get that shirt???") and succesfully trapped a small home gecko [link] bringing it inside an empty bottle of water. Yeah, on the plane and thru the X-ray machine... poor little reptile. I used to have one a couple of years ago, but the devil ran away, I'll try to be more careful this time.

So, it was quite a good vacation, the best of my life so far, and now I'm pretty relaxed to face another working year. And drawing, of course. You'll see some of my pitiful craps soon, I'm plenty of ideas and some works I owe for my friends. No rush, life's really long, life's a beach!!! :D

That might be a sign of stress, although I refuse to use that word and feel more likely to say I'm lazy and that's all.
I still have lots of ideas waiting to be drawn, some of my own, some other for my friends, but I can't find the strength I need to draw right now. I've found out it's not even a matter of time, cause I have all the time I need to draw.
But don't you get me wrong, I'm still happy and can't wait to unplug my burnt brain and wash it down in cachaça [link]

A trestiros is a small carton tube, meant to be held upright, therefore shooting the three balls and making three small blasts in the air.
The ceiling of Cromañón was covered by some kind of cloth, perhaps to reduce the noise of the night club, where lots of underground rock bands used to perform.
Now, let's do the math: trestiros + cloth on ceiling = big fire.
Lights went down, teens fell in panic, run for your life, thick smoke... darkness, confusion.

194 people died that night and during the following few days
[link] . most of them teenagers. Some of the survivors commited suicide months after the fact, and a few survivor's relatives suffered heart attacks.

Therapy, pills, religious help, an endless trial.
I was not there that night, by chance, just because I did not follow that band. I follow another rock band, "La Renga" since 1994, and I was very used to indoors fireworks. That does not mean I agreed nor I aproved that behaviour, since several years before this fact. I've seen the red thick smoke of nautical flares
[link] inside a place meant to hold just 250 people, making the air spicy with the smell of the burnt chemicals. Yes, the smoke mixed with lights, a heavy rock and a pot make quite an experience...
I have never smoked pots, nor lit a flare, and had quite happy experiences just the same.

Look at Kim's sneakers in my latest pic [link] . Those are the kind of street footwear for low-to-mid income teenagers, they're a symbol of the argentinean cult to the Rolling Stones and to many other stones-sound like bands. Callejeros was not exactly a "stone" band, they had a different sound, but was followed by many a teen wearing that kind of sneakers [link] [link] I could not help thinking of those kids when I drew those sneakers [link] for Kim. It was not my intention to make a tribute pic, but there is many a coincidence between the pic and the facts of exactly four years back in time.

This is a very special moment of the year, and in most western countries, everyone's celebrating the coming of a new year with hope. Fireworks are lit everywhere in the city, turning the dark sky of the night into a colorful background of lights and sparks. But the survivors of that fire, their friends, their relatives, the victims' relatives and friends will always have a sad ending for their years.

I don't blame on anybody in particular, cause there is many a person to be pointed at. This is just a journal, I don't want to open a discussion forum below, we have tons of blogs written about those facts already. I just wanted to remember the souls of those who did not fall in a war, but in a live rock show.

It was my first time in life to see live boxing, believe it or not. And it was in the argentinean temple of boxing, the legendary Luna Park. It´s the equivalent in Buenos Aires of the Madison Square Garden in Manhattan, having held countless professional boxers of all the times, along with artists of all around the world.
The main event was Marcela "tigresa" Acuña vs Alejandra "locomotora" Olivera, being favourite the first one. Talking to my mates at work I predicted: Acuña, points, 10. And that was it, she made Olivera bite the dust once, in the fifth round, and overall had better technique, lot of style though Olivera had more strength and hammered hard on Acuña. But the tigeress roared, and showed her claws like always. Two professional boxers, one winner: Acuña now holds two crowns, the WBA and the WBC. But boxing always gives another chance, and they agreed to hold another fight at Córdoba, but it's far from here and I'll watch it on TV.
And for my surprise, because I did not know who was fighting before, I also had the chance to see Yessica Bopp, a tiny blonde who fights like a scorpion. She received a girl from Venezuela, Ana Fernandez, who also made an excellent rival. But not enough to defeat the local. Bopp, my favourite female boxer, won by unanimous decision holding now the WBA title.
There was male boxing, also, I could see cruiserweight boxers, one throw the tower in the second round but the referee gave TKO. Those were punches!!!
And, of course a couple of minor amateur fighters, one of them hit his head against his rival's opening a deep cut, ending the fight being disqualified.
So, I'm really happy to have been one of the 9000 people there, shouting and getting excited with every punch of every man or woman practising this beautiful sport.
So, I raise my glass of Fernet to the winners, specially the ladies I have mentiones, cause they showed they have what it takes to be the number one!!!

I was having lot of fun at the annual party of my portuguese academy, and from time to time talked to a girl. Talked to many girls, but there was one special girl.

She said "posso perder meu emprego", it means "I might lose my job".

That was the epitaph of a wannabe relationship between me and a teacher (a sunshine smile girl, long fair bright brown hair) who works at the portuguese academy I'm studying at.

But before that she flirted, held my hand, danced with me, drank beer from my glass, pinched me while I was distracted, posed her chin on my shoulder, held my between her arms...

Then she said "stop it, I might lose my job" and I replied "it's ok".

That was all, I went out of the night club, and took a cab back home.

Playing visitor is hard, and the bitter taste of the defeat is only softened by knowin one's visitor. Mean, one's losing there, far away from home, speaking a foreign language, trying to fit another culture. It's hard to win with such a disadvantace. As I always use to say, "at least I gave it a try".

So, "loser"? Nah, a loser is a person who never tries.

32 years, single. This is just another war injury. I just got used to this.

Its power supply seemed to work but screen was completely blank, a clear sign of "brain death". Ironic, had to sign my own computer's death certificate! Ha!
So, I'll buy a brand new one soon, I was in need of it anyway.

By the way: don't go spreading the rumour I am ill or dead, dudes! I've been asked so many times "are you okay?" I wasn't sure if I was even alive! :D But thanks for caring, I really appreciate your support.

By the way 2: still closed for commissions, trades, requests, ideas, suggestions, etc. I wish I had more time, believe me I would please every one of you. I'm still owing works, I know, you'll see them someday, there's no hurry and life is way long! And to make things even more difficult I have plenty ideas on my own...
I love coloring, and barely find time to color KimPossiblelove's drawings, I really enjoy it. Wish had more time to color many other works I've seen around...

Stuff about me and my life:

My jeep still is broken. The lazy ass of the guy who calls himself a mechanic has all my parts to assemble its tranny and refuses to do it for free. I mean, not for free: I had paid for his work way long ago, he had the job done but broke again five moths later. Went to him, and had an argument, even though I'm a very pacific dude, and he agreed to have it fixed again under the condition I bought all the broken parts. I did so, and now he always tells me things like "yeah, come next week and we'll have it done" or "sure, was a little busy at the moment but I'll have it assembled in these days". Of course, I don't believe him but the fact is I had already paid for the work, and the idea of getting all that stuff to another mechanic and having to pay for the job again just sucks... If I had enough room in my small flat, I'd assemble it myself.

I'm still taking lessons on portuguese, I really love it. It's very easy for me, cause it has many things in common with spanish. Portuguese sounds beautifully, not in my mouth, of course, although many of my brazilian friends at the place where I study tell me I'm doing fine. Maybe I'll visit Brazil these holidays...

There's a brazilian girl I'm bound to be dating. She's cute, laughs at my jokes, and tells me "você é muito engraçado" wich means "you're so funny", so, under the pretext of learning languages...

Takes time, and with the help of my mechanic (I'm not alone at this) my little jeep (a.k.a. Tenny, but not after Tennessee) will hit the roads again soon.

But there's no switch to turn it on whenever you want. Someone else has the switch, and decides to turn it on or off oddly. But when it's on, it really feels great!!!
That's the reason my artworks are oddly, too. Two or three of them are superhits, the other are crap. But I really love Kim and enjoy drawin her many ways, so I don't regret even of my worst pic, cause each pic is a tribute to that redhaired gal I love...
