Yes. It's so! Jet has a BLOG! *gasp!* Don't worry, this doesn't mean Jet's gone the weary way of the blog user who's so pathetic that they can't go five seconds without posting how they had to pee after downing a bottle of beer and watching some gay porno with his girlfriend. No, this doesn't mean Jet's become some person who goes into the shakes if he doesn't get his blogging down. No, it's not like some drug addiction. That's what deviantART is for. What does it mean? It means this. The high and mighty Jetstreamx has gotten supremely bored one day, and decided to make a wordpress blog just because he could. I hate blogger, you see. Well, I don't hate it, I just don't want to use it again. (Jet obviously must be bored, or else he wouldn't be referring to himself in the third person as though he were some godly god among gods.)

So my dad is wanting to run the place he used to work at for my uncle, right? All in all, he "needs" help to do it, so he's been bugging me and mom about it. So far he's asked me twice, and both times I told him I didn't want to. I really don't want to tell him no, but I can't work with him even short term, so how am I supposed to run a business with him? The two of us get in arguments faster than you can light a match and things tend to go from there.

I mean, I love my Dad, but I know we wouldn't make good business partners. I almost always never say no when either of my parents ask me to help them with something. I don't like saying no unless I absolutely have to. This just bothers me. :\

Somewhat Disgruntled by Sonic Art as of Late

The title pretty much says it all. I've been drawing it for the better of three years, at least, and I'm kind of bored with it. So what does this mean for dear old Jet? Well, it means I'm going to be be doing other things for a bit. Yes, other things. Wonderful isn't it? Now don't think that means I'm never going to draw Sonic again! Far from it. The blue little turd has a spot in my heart, but I'm moving on to an anthro of another sort. Humanoid robots. hell, I'm going to be doing humans too. Heroic is a project that and I have been plotting all year, but we're still nowhere near complete, so you'll be waiting a while yet before you get to see actual comics, but I'm going to be trying to share stuff leading up to the eventual look and layout of the series.

Overall, I'm looking forward to the progress of this series. Hopefully it can do the super hero genre justice. Either way, it's all cool. Either way, I'm looking forward to improving my anatomy, and my bots. Ever since that pic of Jetstream I drew, I've been somewhat invigorated. I miss drawing those little tin soldiers.

I'm going to actually argue with my result now, because this is BS.

1)Enough is enough - and you feel that you've had enough for a while. You don't need any more battles. You just would like to be able to shout 'stop' and experience a little peace and calm - even if it be only for a little while. This doesn't mean that you need to cut yourself off from the rest of the world - it just means that you are seeking some respite, some physical or emotional relaxation that could release some of the the tension and possibly reduce the internal conflict.

1)What battles? I haven't been in any battles. And peace and calm? I can daydream like a pro. Peace and quiet is never beyond my fingertips. I also stay up most the night when everyone's asleep. Also, I don't "cut" myself from the rest of the world. I keep contact with my friends whenever possible. While I may not get out much, I value what little contact I do get. Fortunately for me, my friends are almost as bad as I am about bed times.

2)You dislike playing the field in every sense of the word. When you develop a relationship it needs to be a close fulfilling one, one that has deep meaning for all parties concerned.

2)Define playing the field? And isn't it a phrase and not a word? I never was good at sports. and sure, I like having a close fulfilling relationships with people, but I don't worry about doing so with every person I know. I have several friends that I wouldn't call close friends. I have several friends I don't have a deep friendship with, and I'm happy with that. The fact that they're my friends is good enough for me. I do have several friends that I have "deep meaningful" relationships with. I don't feel the need or desire to go out of my way to make every relationship like that. If it works that way, cool, if not, cool.

3) Who isn't full of hopes and ideals? Who isn't wanting to break away from a mundane existence? My confidence really isn't lacking. Artwise, I'm better than I've ever been. Sure, I know I have a long way to be where I want to be, but I'm happy with myself, but with just enough level headedness to improve. I have the best girlfriend I could ever ask for. Sure, I can't hold her, kiss her, or even sit in the same room as her at the moment, but the ability to speak to her alone is more important to me than all the physicality I've ever had in any relationship. Right now, I have some of the best most loyal friends I've ever had in my life. Even people I don't know don't seem to be so offput by me as they used to be. Sure, my dreams aren't realistic, but I don't care. The more unrealistic, the better. I have many periods where I don't think clearly, but I also have many where I do, at least to my definition of clear. My confidence is higher now than ever.

Something of a new Journal Layout/Watchmen Rant

In my all mighty refusal to use anyone else's CSS, and my growing bordom with how it's already looked for the past, I don't care how long, I've decided to add a touch of CSS. Gonna redo the header image, so that it works better when expanded without having to repeat. Anyway, blah, I'm a no0b to CSS, but aside from that it's pretty easy. Oh well. I might try to do something a bit more awesome in the future. Right now I has things to do.

but before I do what I'm supposed to do, I'm going to make a quick rant on the oh so glorious 2-disk Special Edition Watchmen Director's Cut. In simple, two words say everything. "RIP OFF." But I'm not going to let it stay at simple. In terms of Director's Cuts, this is overall lacking. It comes with 24 extra minutes worth of footage that you don't get in the other DVDs. not sure if that means that footage was cut out from the theatrical release, as I notice no difference, or they went out of their way to remove something that was so utterly unimportant that it's hardly noticeable despite being nearly half an hour longer.

Moving on, it's mind blowing special features, which are hardly mind blowing and hardly special. We got a short documentary on how Watchmen, as WONDERFUL as it is, changed comics. There is no sarcasm here. I love the Watchmen, but the change it brought to comics, while an interesting change in pace sometimes seems to be more of a festering disease that has changed comics from preposterous to dull. Granted, it's a nice documentary that sums up everything you could easily read on Wikipedia. After that, we get 11 BS video journals that tell us how the movie was made,.... kinda. it's only bits and pieces, but overall nothing worth interest.

That leaves us with one crappy music video by My Chemical Romance. Sorry MCR fans, but I have an everlasting hatred of My Chemical Romance. Oh wait, I forgot ONE more thing. A digital copy! Oh great. I can download the movie and watch it without the DVD! Hooray. So, I get a crappy depraved version of what I want, a DVD that has some self righteous BS about how the director's got the sweetest tasting urine in the world complete with vitamin c, how the movie was made with never before scene technology that will revolutionize the movie industry, how the actors never read a comic in their lives, but loved watchmen since it came out in the 80s, and all the other garbage associated with special features DVD. Heck, even Daredevil came with better special features. I mean, we got SOME of this, but not enough to make me happy. (I'm now downloading the theatrical release from my special features.....yaaaaaaaaaaaawn)

Okay, so, not only that, I get something that absolutely infuriates me when I open it. A tiny slip of paper asking me to buy the "Watchmen Ultimate Collector's Edition" in December. A 5 disk DVD set with an addition of Tales of the Black Freighter" added to the directors cut, director commentary, and lord knows what else. Mind you, THERE IS NO COMMENTARY IN THE DIRECTORS CUT VERSION, DESPITE BEING SPECIAL EDITION. So overall, I wasted my money on a BS special edition that doesn't have anything of real value, when I could have waited for the amazing ultimate collectors edition.

Remember when movies like the Lord of the Rings Trilogy and Hellboy pulled this stunt? Know what makes them better than this sham? Their special edition disks actually had GREAT coverage of how the movie was made with wonderful documentaries, and practically EVERY boring thing you can think of that I find so wonderful. So back to my simple phrasing from earlier, this is a rip off.

Commissions Price Bump

Yep. I'm afraid I'm going to have to do this guys. Starting August the first, my commissions prices are going to increase, and I'm going to set some new stipulations. With that said, on August the First, I'm going to update my commissions journal, so that everyone will be up to date on the prices. Various reasons for increase, mainly to compensate for the price of art supplies, and I have to find a new print supplier now that I'm home again, and if I find a Kinkos, well, Kinkos isn't as costly as I wish it were. In any case, I've been really busy and such, which is why my art updates haven't been at all that much, but don't worry, I plan to flood the site gallery with all kinds of stuff when the projects are ready to be seen. In any case, catch you guys later. May the force be with you.

So, I'm done with the semester, and maybe school in general. Might go to another college some time in the future, but yeah. Tried MCA, didn't work out for me. So I'm off to do other things. Got some stuff I'm going to be working on over the summer, so I'm going to be uber busy.

Going to be rethinking my commission's prices a bit, at least for the colored ones. I'll keep you updated on that when I come up with something. I no longer have access to one of them there fancy printers, so I may have to go with more expensive alternatives, so that's the reasoning. Anyway, I am pooped. I'm off to do stuff now. Yay. I need money to live on.

Well, the great expected event occurred. My dad has lost his job and is in a frenzy to keep the money going. This means if I go home, I'll probably have no internet, and the cheapest apartments are around 400 to 600 dollars. Granted with a roommate, that'll be a bit more managable, but I'm going to need more money until I can find a job, any job. I've already gotten set up with monthly commissions to make up around 400 a month, but I'm going to need about 200 more to make up for things like groceries and phone. That would be round about 7 color commissions a month, or 10 inked commissions. I highly doubt it'll be done, but it's one hope I have, so if anybody wants anything, now's a good time since I'm desperate and motivated.

I'm really sorry to beg, but you know, I've applied to several different places and I've yielded nothing, so this is the only chance I have until I can get a job. I kindly thank anyone in advance who wish to help out. I'll do my best to finish everything ASAP. If you need information, I have a link in my journal for more details.

Well, looks like you've seen some of what I've been busily at work with. All I can can tell you is that I'm very pleased with how it's coming out. Another thing I have to point out is that I'm finally going to give an application to Archie a try. I've been chickening out for a long time now because I never felt my art was up to par, whether it would meet their standard of my own. I still wish my work were better, but that'll come with more time I'm sure.

So I hope to have my portfolio ready by the end of April. I don't know what this'll mean for me as far as school goes, if I get in that is. It'll probably mean that my time for DA will be practically non-existent xD In any case, I'm flipped out and nervous. I really want to make a good impression. After reading through the journals and forum posts of and , I have to say I'm really inspired to go for it.

Between that and school-work, I haven't been able to do much of anything, but I'll tell you now, I'm going to try to have something ready for the gallery and soon. I'm going to remake one of my old artworks that has met with great success. I'm sure some of you may be able to guess what it may be. It's rather old, and I'd rather show what I can do now.

Also, there is a new dig in town. This is THE Emerald Coast Comics presence on deviantART. Be sure to stop on by and check it out. You might be in for a pleasant surprise. We'll have updates on all the newest releases from ECC, providing you with news of what's going on, not to mention previews on our latest comics. Not only that, but be sure to stop by the page every Friday for a deviantART exclusive that we won't be showing anywhere else.

In other news, I've finally seen the Watchmen, and I have to say, it was epic. There were some changes, but I have to say that I think that the changes in no way hurt the story, for the limited amount that were made. About my only problems had to do with the scoring, but even then, it worked pretty well. If you have not watched this movie, GO OUT AND WATCH IT!

Also, I saw the season premier for Transformers Animated, and I have to say, it, too, was epic! Really great way to kick off the season. I can't wait to see more. Not only that, but a great showing of Batman Brave and the Bold. We were finally introduced to The Question. I can't wait to see one of our favorite faceless of Justice return in a hopeful future episode. It would be a crime not to have him.

Amongst other things, I decided to pick up an Issue of Solomon Grundy and Kick Ass. Well, I'm not 100 percent behind Kick Ass, but I did enjoy it. It was issue one that I picked up, so no, I'm not up to date on the story. It was fairly interesting in its attempts to "reinvent" the superhero, but overall, I don't think it's the best thing ever, not by a long shot, but it did a good job of hooking me in. I might pick up more in the future. The real reason I bought it, though, was for the art of one John Romita Jr., who is one of my all time favorite artists. Granted some of my more recent lessons in my life drawing class, I saw things in his technique related to planer development, sideslant, and cross contour, which was an extra kick for me.

Solomon Grundy was pretty nice too. After all, who doesn't love Grundy? He's one of my favorite DC Villains. Sure, he may basically be the Undead Hulk of DC, but he's in no way less awesome to me. The art was pretty good, the story wasn't that bad, and it fed me with a pretty nice story. I can't WAIT to see how the second issue's going to turn out. It looks like it's going to be awesome. Yes, Jet is very excited.

So yeah, I covered on some things. check it out! AND WATCH THE WATCHMEN!

Another thing, I'm still open for commissions. I will have to apologize in advance though, since I hardly have any free time sometimes due to school (I should be working in my Sketchbook as we speak) but I'm definitely up for it. Anyway, enough of that, I'll catch you guys on the flipside!

Well, I've been gloriously sick ALL WEEK with what probably amounts to a really bad cold. So yeah, no school for me! YAY! except for the fact that this means I've missed a week's worth of classes, which means the all mighty Jet is going to have to crack the all mighty whip! Which means I'm going to be one busy little beaver.

In any case, that's fine. I miss being able to be busy anyway. I just wish it wasn't completely school work. I'm going to send out some applications to some other colleges pretty soon, if I continue with college. Not saying I hate you MCA peoples, indeed some of you are pretty cool when I get to hang out around you, I still don't feel very happy here, but hey, at least this second semester's been much better than the last one.

But yeah, I need to get my comic portfolios together too. I'm probably going to work on that AS SOON AS I GET MY DARN ROOM CLEAN! My God! I can't even walk in here anymore. I was doing soo well at keeping it clean too. Now it's going to take forever. Meh, oh well. TOO HAPPY CLEANING THEN!

Wow! Just, wow! Kinda funny though. This time it's not one of my "This school is the end of the world!" rants, (trying to be more positive, especially after that D, but meh), instead, its a technicality that almost had me leaving home several days early! Good Golly Miss Molly! So, MY schedule says that move in day is on the 8th, and classes are on the 12th! So here I am getting ready to pull an all night drive a few days in advance, which involves sleeping late, and staying up till the wee hours of the morning, when it turns out we have to be in according to THEIR schedule, by the 15th for move in day, with classes starting on the 20th.

To be honest, I'm a bit miffed, yet at the same time relieved. I don't want to go back to hell just yet. However, this gives me one ridiculously long break. I have to admit though, I find it funny that all the cheap colleges go longer while the expensive ones make you pay more for less time. No wonder the teachers have egos sometimes. In any case, I get to give Mom the wonderful news tomorrow. Means I get to see my little bro for a little bit longer. Oh how I love my little brother. Annoying as hell, but he's 4. haha.

In any case, I was worried I was going to have to stop working on commissions out of the blue. Kind of a pain if you ask me. Lord knows what they'll have me doing in the first week. xD Not to mention I seriously need a job. One semester with no spending money (or no supply or tuition money for that matter) isn't not no fun. So at least to keep from pestering my parents xD

I'm hoping I'll like this semester a lot better, though I don't want to stay for 3 more years if I can help it. I'll wind up being overqualified for a BFA by then. lol. Maybe I'll just be a drawing major. Illustration isn't that important, and if I need to work on my story telling skillz, I can always take the classes as electives, not to mention the vast pool of knowledge that is DA.

In other news, I was asked to give some random stranger a ride earlier tonight. First of all, the guy looked highly suspicious, and no, not because he was black. Frankly, it was because he went out of his way, several times, to say that "I'm a good n*****! I ain't no bad n*****!" He went as far as to try to prove that he didn't have any guns or anything. To me, that only made him seem more suspicious. First off, I've met several people that look and act like he does, and I've not trusted a single one of them. Speaking of which, I need to inspect my car tomorrow to make sure he hasn't planted anything. >.> Granted the way he was dressed he could have had something hidden very easily, and intuition just said "Hell no". Normally when I don't listen to intuition I regret it later, or at least as close to regret as I can get.

In any case, after I said no enough times, he left me alone. All I can say is that I hope for whoever picked him up, if anyone did, that I was wrong in my assumption. Jet doesn't like saying no, but I also don't like risking my life for suspicious entities.

Also, I've began a most ungodly task. And that is sorting my external hard drive. You guessed it, I have thousands of files to sort out. Thousands! All of them I need to organize into a sleek sexy machine. This is gonna suck! >.<

On another note, if anyone wants to contribute to the commissions network, please, let me know. I'll toss your name in and hopefully I can help get some people some work. Everybody's been so kind to me about it, I can't exactly pay anyone, but I can darn sure offer my contribution. I actually helped out somebody I didn't know, that being I'm very glad. In any case, I suppose I should end this journal before it becomes endless. xD

Memphis College of Art So Far

So, I suppose that, given it's nearly the end of a semester, I should give a current review on what I think thus far.

Let me then start with the good things.

Â° The Students are quite friendly and easy to talk to.
Â° The city itself is an interesting place to be with a lot going on in the community.
Â° Honor Based System for workstudy. I could very well NOT show up to work and still get paid. Fortunately, I'm not that kinda girl.
Â° Some of the teachers and faculty are quite friendly.

Negative Marks.

Let me just say, this will be a dozy. I had to think long and hard before I could even get 2 good points.

Â° While some teachers are friendly, or seem such, their methods of teaching are highly aggravating. They often cite a school quote, "if you're not food deprived or sleep deprived, you're probably not working hard enough." While I can appreciate the value of hard work, I also appreciate the value of food and sleep. Teachers usually treat their class as the ONLY important class, and can normally consider a student to not be serious enough, if they so happen to not have the time to work, or have the capability to work.
Â° One other problem I have with teachers is their over indulging in the use of complex terminology. In layman's terms, they use big words a LOT. My reasoning for this problem is the pure and simple fact that not all of us come from a community where such words are used on a common basis. Its not that I'm an idiot for not knowing what they are, it's that many of the words mentioned are words I've NEVER heard before in my life. By the time I write down one to look up, ten more have already been spoken, and I'm left not understanding exactly what I should be taking notes on. (I will note, however, that one of the teachers that does this is one of my favorite teachers. For those of you who take his class, you may know of whom I speak.)
Â° Generally broken will of the students. I feel this may be more for the freshmen though, since I deal with them a hell of a lot more. At the beginning of the semester, they had a totally different feel to what they think, say, and do. Since then, they have quickly conformed to the views of their teachers. It almost feels as though I had literally witnessed lambs marching to slaughter. Its terrifying. Granted, by now, some of them have started to come out of their shells of conformity, I fear that it has all been done for the wrong reasons.
Â° Distinction between painting and illustration. Granted this is that both the painting and the illustration are both using painting. First off there is actually a distinction between the two which amazes me to no end. Both employ the use of paint, both require skill in painting, and both are meant to tell a story or provoke a certain emotion. The only difference between the two is how quickly it gets to the point, generally meaning that painting is made to be stared at while illustration is a temporary orgasm of sorts. The reason why this amazes me is because, in the end, they can be used to achieve the same result. Also, where I come from, there is NO distinction. If it's painted, its a painting. To me, I find the notion of making a grand distinction to be rather convoluted in nature.
Â° Literally ANYTHING can be good art, if you have enough bullshit to back it up.
Â° The general dislike of commercial art. Yes, dislike of commercial art. A school that offers design arts, with a dislike of commercial arts. Generally it is looked down upon as inferior and unholy by some. Its rather reassuring to know that teachers support the idea of painting out of a cardboard box hoping like hell your work will wind up in a gallery. It all feels hypocritical when you take into notion the fact that many artists also try to sell their art. while its not to the scale of mass production, it's no different in the end. The argument can be made that there is some grand reason why the artist sells his art. Let's be honest, paint doesn't pay for itself, as much as we wish it did. Also, to make the comment that the selling of contemporary art has meaning while the selling of commercial art has none is just flat out wrong. An example is John Romita Jr. Pick up some of his work on Daredevil. What you are doing is essentially picking up a love from his childhood.
Â° Lack of real extra-curricular activities. One thing that jobs look for is your involvement in such activities if you are a student.
Â° lack of REAL social time. Teachers are ALWAYS pushing for students to go out and meet people, and especially go to gallery shows. What's really interesting is the fact that there is NO time to do ANY of this. You're either working or sleeping here, and maybe eating.
Â° No REAL promotion of heath. Seriously, the only reason I'm doing as wel...

I had a moment of pure ownage yesterday. I got 100 writable DVDs for 20 bucks at Krogers. 20 BUCKS! The ones I got were originally supposed to cost me 60, and I was like "dude, you charged me 3 times too much, just to let you know." Took a few minutes, but I got my money back, and I got 100 blank DVDs just waiting to be filled with goodness

Also, I got a drying rack and a second garbage can. Let me say, DRYING RACKS ARE AMAZING! They actually make dish washing bearable! Do you know how many years I've dried by hand?! 4!!!!!!

I just know I'm happy

Naruto is Getting Better

Too bad we don't get any One Piece this week. I wanted to see Luffy deliver pure unbridled win.

In other news, I finally FINALLY got to watch ALL of GaoGaiGar. To be honest, I haven't finished cumming buckets it was so amazing. I actually shed a tear. A SINGLE TEAR! Normally I feel compelled to feel like shedding a tear, but to actually shed one, that says as much as a Victorian man seeing a woman's shoulder.

So far this year is getting easier to manage, despite that bullshit IPC class. God I hate it. Anyways, yeah, ROAR!

Kick Reason To the Curb

And no, this isn't because I've been watching too much Gurren Lagann for once. I've been watching Evangelion though. Trippy series. Shinji needs to be punched more often.

So yeah, I've been to art school for a month and a day, and I've decided.... I don't like it much. Ever heard of the idea of "thinking outside the box"? Well, in art school, you don't think outside the box. You crawl out of your box, and into a new box to think inside of. Suddenly you see a world where your art becomes so incredibly limited from what you want out of life.

You no longer become the creator, but instead you become society's bastard scribe. That's a cold logical way to look at your own work. It no longer becomes something of interest or something that represents who you are as a person, but who people are as a society.

Suddenly, you can't live with a notion of art as childish as mine. Then you have to "grow up" to a world that is more black and white then when you were a child, and everything was in color. You have spent your life looking for something enjoyable and self gratifying, and in the end you find this empty shell that represents the world around you. Something that tells you that everything you are, everything you believe in is wrong.

Then you see a world that preaches resistance and nonconformity is really a world that is already conformed and lost in that conformity. To a degree, you find joy in the sense that you have found some kindred spirits, but then you realize the harshness of your current reality. You do your art for some form of gratification that is not entirely material, to obtain a sheet of paper that offers you nothing but material, and a deep well of emptiness, and you wonder "why am I here, and what do I see for my future?"

In the logical sense, you see the possibility of financial success. You now have the means to get what you want, what everyone wants. Power, yet you see that you may not have power at all. The logic completely negates the illogical needs that the mind needs. In the end, you see a sad unfulfilled life waiting at the end of your tunnel, where who you are is lost to the societies around you.

That's one view. To others this may be what you want, but all I see is my life being taken out of my hands, and to be honest, that ceiling of conformity pisses me off. Who the hell can I be if not myself? No one at all.

I don't care about a degree. I don't care to be societies bastard scribe. I don't look that deep into the meaning of my art. I don't care to do years of research to do a single drawing. I don't care to have years of education for something that requires nothing more than imagination. Is it for the myself that I'm here, or for other people around me?

I have found the truth of that question long ago. I am NOT here for myself, and I never will be. I'm living someone else's dream, and it burns my heart to no end. So what am I doing? I'm letting cold reason rule my life, and I am starting to see just how wrong this feels to me.

Why am I in college, why am I living a life that doesn't feel like mine, and why do I not regret? I don't regret because to regret is to never learn. I live a life I don't like because I, like many, fear rejection, and I am in college for that same reason.

So then, this may seem like this is going to be me saying screw college. I'm quitting. If you thought that, you're wrong. I'm keeping my ass planted. Not because I want to be accepted, not because I want what material wealth it can grant me, not because one can't move without it anymore, but because this was a goal that I had already set out to accomplish.

However, I'm not going to take my life BACK into my own hands, for once, I'm going to truly going to take it completely into my hands for the first time. I'm going to make my own impact on the world however large or small it may be. I'm going to show everyone exactly who and what I am and I don't care whether I fit with the puzzle or don't belong at all. I don't care if who I am brings me into being known as the village idiot!

I refuse to be a rock that eroded by the sea. I refuse to be washed away. I refuse to be incorporated. I refuse to be the focal point of all society. I am NOT society. I am me. I need no boundaries, bubbles, or boxes. My artwork may still always reflect a society in some sense, but I do not have to see it that way. All I have is to see it as I please. In the end, that is what matters. The world that I create will be as I see it and how I want it to be.

I am going to be me, even if it kills me.

Alright, so I've been a busy little beaver tonight. I've been working on revamping the webpage for M.E. Chronicles, which would be [link]

So far I'm thrilled. Never have I actually wanted to update the site until I got blogger up and running for it. To be honest, updating through dreamweaver's a bit of a pain. So here we have nice, simple, and convenient. This is the setup it will have for now. I'm going to be changing it hopefully after Christmas.

Right now, I have the look of the site finished, but I'm still working on some stuff to make it "perfect" But anyways, feel free to check it out. I'm going to add a submissions page and force myself to hit the sack.

Aid M.E.Chronicles! You Too Can Be a Member

Alright. So I'm trying to build up a core M.E. Chronicles staff to help out the guys at ECC. If anyone is interested in joining in, there are guidelines attached to the footer of this journal. If you know anyone that would be interested ask them about it. Any aid would be appreciated.

Also, thanks for the show of support everyone with the commissions. It really means a lot. I'll do my best to make sure that they all live up to expectation!

Guidelines

Mission:
We are out to produce a quality fan-comic for fellow fans of the Knuckles the Echidna(KtE) comic series from the 90s. However, we need YOUR help. We are looking for any able-bodied artists to help us produce more comics. We are not asking for much. Anywhere from four pages to a whole issue, if desired. There is nothing longstanding about this.

Admission:
To be considered for working on a future issue, all you need to do is email a portfolio of no less than 5 pieces of artwork to mechronicles@gmail.com. After your work is reviewed by the M.E. Chronicles Committee, we will get back to you. Should you decide to withdraw your services, please send us an e-mail to let us know.

Pencils: Just as the title shows, sends us your penciled line-work. It is advisable that you send in at least one submission to show your ability to tell a story.

Inks: Plain and simple. Send in a body of art with your inks.

Colors: If you are interested in coloring, be sure to send in works you have colored.

Letters: If you have any work that you have lettered in the past, then please submit it if you are interested in lettering. If not, make a quick and easy demo piece. Unlike the rest, this can be limited to one page.

Note: You can submit for more than one if you wish.

Agreement:
Please understand that if you should decide to aid, this is completely non-profit. It is a fan project done by fans, for fans.

Brand Spanking New Sub

first, I want to thank the lovely for the sub. I nearly fell out of my chair in disbelief. I've thanked her several times but good lord. Her charity is highly appreciated.

So I have plenty in the works now. I have a few commissions under my belt now, which is great, but I could always use the business. Also, M.E.C. 4 is WAY behind schedule, but we're going to try to finish it as quick as we can, so don't think we've given up on it. The offer is still out there for anyone that wishes to join in on the fun for the art. Our team is slated for the next couple issues, but there will still be issues after that, so feel free to email me, or contact one of my messengers.

Also, I'm collabing on some Transformers: Mosaics with the ever talented ! We're both very enthusiastic on the project, and it'll be the first Mosaic's I've written. Hopefully and the crew at will like what they see, being as they have to approve it for posting xD So yeah, I can't wait to get those out of the way.

Oh, I've got my work study set up. Unfortunately, I don't expect to make much of anything out of that, being as I'm only working 1-3 hours a week. So yeah, I'm going to be looking for a job soon. It'll be good to have some steady income. I may wind up having to get a regular part time job, but to hell with the logic of it all. I'm going to finish my portfolio for Archie and IDW. It'd be great if they tell me yes, but I'm not going to set my hopes too high. Better to not get disappointed if they say no.

Oh, and I seem to be going all over the place, its because I'm very very hyper. xD I just drank a couple of tall glasses of sweet tea. I feel great! Anyway, before I go too nuts, I'm going to work on some projects now.

Oh, and also, if anyone can, I think i'll CSS my journal, sometime. Only problem is, I have no clue what to do. Any help would be nice. finding any good tutorials on DA has been hell for me in the past. Can't find anything here anymore.

Go Go Gurren Lagann! BANKAI

Okay, no, this has nothing to do with Power Rangers or Bleach, but it is related. This week in Gurren Lagann we get to hear an all too familiar voice, Johhny Yong Bosch. Once the Black Ranger and the voice of Kurosaki Ichigo. Now who would the voice of two most awesome characters possibly be in Gurren Lagann?! Someone Awesome! Someone amazing? Nah. He plays a character who's gayness is not measured in homosexuality. For all of you GL vets out there, you know him, you hate him, Rossiu. For those of you who have no clue, well, just wait a few weeks, you will.

What amazes me is the improving quality in the voicework in this dub. I was terrified I'd be expecting Rossiu to scream Bankai at any second. I'm glad to know I was wrong. But its all good. But speaking of terrible voices, lets get to the one that I've terribly chastised since I started watching the dub. Yes Eric Herbert, I'm talking about you. What do I have to say about your horrible performance this time?

Be amazed everybody, for I have nothing bad to say this time. After the first 4 episodes he finally starting to sound like he's settling into his role. At first he sounded like he had no clue what the hell he was doing. "WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK I AM?!" I think, unlike the rest of the cast, he had no clue at first.

His voicework has improved quite a bit. The most painful part of tonight was listening to the first episode being recapped in episode six. You could tell the difference in acting. He no longer sounded like Gohan dressed as the Great Saiyaman. For that, I give him a round of applause, but don't get me wrong, that doesn't mean I completely approve, but I am giving him kudos for doing better.

Stingdragon You're a Hero + Gurren Lagann

Okay, so yes. like said, all my friends and stuff were probably unchecked on my add/remove friends list. so I just spent the past forever trying to get that fixed. So, , thanks.

Also, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann? Spin on? Watched it again last night, and it was better than last weeks. Kyle Herbert's starting to now sound as stupid, and less speed racer like. I loved him as Gohan, but I'm going to be keeping my eyes and ears on him as Kamina.

Two characters I've been DYING to hear last night, Viral(Sam Riegel) and Kittan (Christopher Corey Smith). I was terrified Viral was going to sound stupid after watching a clip from Shaman King with Faust. Granted, Riegel's voice did seem to go alright for Faust, I was worried that it wouldn't fit Viral. I could see the qualities, but I was iffy. Interestingly enough, I seem to have had little to worry about. His Viral was actually pretty good, much to my amazement.

As for Mr. Smith, I had no idea what he'd sound like. When I heard him in his interactions with Kamina, he seemed to pretty good. So I've got to say, I've rather enjoyed lastnight's shows.

Now I do have one complaint. STOP SPEEDING UP THE DARN MUSIC! Nikopol does not play that fast! The scene isn't moving so fast that you have to play a hyped up version of Nikopol on speed. Its stupid. STOP IT! In fact, same thing with the rest of the music.

48 Hour Response Garunteed

So far no good. I hate to say it DA, but you're letting me down. If you're wondering what I'm talking about, then let me explain. Several days ago, I stopped receiving updates for subscriptions and journals. Now, in the past week, I am certain that out of the surplus of 200 people I watch, that none of them have submitted anything. So you know what that means, there's a bug in the system. I've deleted my cookies, logged in, logged out, and just about everything else I can think of, but I still get nothing. This is starting to piss me off.

If you are wondering if I've sent them an email, well, you need no further look than the title. I messaged them, twice. So far, I've gotten no 48 hour response. Granted the last time I messaged them was yesterday, they have till tomorrow to show that they have gotten my message before I start to think that my account's been messed up so badly that I can't even contact administration through the site. I'm not saying they won't respond this second time, but this is starting to get on my nerves.

I know that I don't often comment as much as I would like, but I do like to look at what my friends are up to and what they are drawing. How am I supposed to do that if DA isn't updating anything. I do NOT want to up and change to another account when I've gotten this far along in this account. I do not plan on there being any Jetstreamxv1's for DA, not from me.

So yeah, here I am. I feel naked and alone without my updates. Seriously, it bugs me. I'm paying a subscription for this site to get nothing more than a glorified pageview counter, a visitor list that doesn't show anymore than 5 users at a time, no more or no less (who wants to constantly refresh to see who's been there), and some extras for my journals so that I can show pictures. I can do that on Sheezyart for free.

I got the subscription so that I could do the simple things that now, all Deviants can use. So yes, I half feel like I have wasted money and a broken account. Well, all I've got to say is I hope they fix it soon. This is really inconvenient. I can't wait to see artwork again, Gandalf, ARTWORK.

Pierce the Heavens with your drill in English

So I finally get to see it in English. Yes, you guessed it, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann! Manly spirits ignite in titanic teeth clenching mecha action, but so far, how does this hold up? Well, in Japanese it was fraggin awesome, but right now I'm not exactly sure about it for English.

Personally, the concept of a Kamina voiced by Gohan (Kyle Herbert), well, it just doesn't quite sound right, you know? But then again, I'm hoping that it'll get better as time goes on, but you never know, eh? The first episode was practically butchered after Kamina was introduced.

His mannarisms weren't that different from his erratic Japanese voice actor, but he didn't have the touch. When Japanese Kamina spoke, sure, I knew that what he said sounded like total and utter nonsense, but the way he spoke was so intense that I was compelled to be sucked into their world.

Sorry, Kyle. You as Kamina, sounded like a total idiot in the first episode, not to mention the pace you were going, well, it reminded me of Speed Racer. Anyway, the second episode, he started to finally hit a streak that was more Kamina-esque, though I still had a problem with Gohan speaking from Kamina's body, but I was starting to get used to it I guess. So here's hoping that Kyle'll gain epic points.

Yuri Lowenthal did a good job for Simon though. Maybe not a perfect job, but it was still pretty darn good considering that it was an english dub, but there's not much to say about it any further.

Now we get to Yoko, who was voiced by Michelle Ruff. To my amazement, the voice is pretty close to person for the character. I can actually hear Yoko the whole time I listen to her. Good job flaming tits, good job.

Of course, she was only close to perfect. Perfect came in the form of Steven J. Blum for Leeron, or should I say Steven Gay Blum. If you're familiar with Gurren Lagann, then you should at least know by now that Leeron is a flaming homosexual who's probably as gay as Kamina is straight. Blum pulled off an excellent job as Leeron, and was perhaps, so far, the best voice in the whole show, and I'm not saying this as a Blum fanboy.

That lisp, that voice, those terribly awkward comments that always seem to make you think he's going to sex the whole male cast, it was great, and it made me very happy this his character wasn't ruined to tone down his gayness. One of my friends commented that "He was almost TOO perfect." But yes, it was great.

Despite the fact that I'm terribly iffy about this, I'd have to say that I can't wait to see the next English Episode.
