That's right, still alive and kicking, and in a major creative burst lately, apparently lol 3 new postings in as many days!

Been a long time since that has happened!


Things are going okay on this end, eyes are still shot to all hell, and harder to see every day, but i am still plugging along and smiling... that's gotta count for something, right?



Have ya'll checked out the videos we have been doing? they're all up at [link] and we've been really busy doing them. I just put up a VERY cool animation on there a couple days ago, which i am VERY proud of. Would love some feedback from you guys on it!

Of all the various religious belief systems embraced around the world, Christianity stands apart because Christianity cannot be mythologized. Everything about Christianity is grounded in solid history.

For example, Christianity could not exist apart from the Roman occupation of Judea. Without Jewish rejection of the Messiah, Christianity would have become a Jewish religion.

Without the Roman occupation, there could be no Pontius Pilate. Without Pilate to wash his hands of responsibility for the Crucifixion, Jesus could not have been put to death 'for the sins of His people', as required by Messianic prophecy.

And of course, without the public Crucifixion, there could not have been a Resurrection and the core beliefs of Christianity could not exist. Christianity's core beliefs rely 100% on the accuracy of the historical context in which it was introduced to the world.

One gets a sense of the importance of historical context when one compares other major world religions to Christianity. Islam, for example, exists independent of historical truth.

Historically, Allah was a pagan god -- one of about 360 gods worshipped by the pre-Islamic Arab world. Mohammed's biographers simply promoted a pagan god to preeminence by declaring Allah to be the one true god.

Allah's pre-Islamic historical existence puts Islam out of historical context, since Islam claims Allah created the world and is the same God worshipped by Christians and Jews.

Historically, if Allah was one of 360 pagan gods worshipped by pre-Islamic Arabia, then he could not also be the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Allah's history is at odds with world history. If one is true, the other cannot be.

Buddha allegedly sat down under a Bodhi tree and meditated until he found enlightenment and produced the Four Noble Truths. But the principle focus of Buddhism is the Four Noble Truths.

The details of Buddha's life are part myth, part history.Whether or not Buddha produced the Four Noble Truths under a Bodhi tree or an oak tree is irrelevant. But that doesn't bother Buddhists.

There are no schools of thought specifically dedicated to disproving the details of Buddha's life for the purpose of discrediting his historicity. The Four Noble Truths can exist independently of a literal Buddha.

Christianity has no such historical problems. Jesus was of the Line of David. He was raised a Jew, taught in synagogues and in the Jewish Temple, and the religion He founded was historically rooted in the Jewish Scriptures. And Christianity could not exist independently of an historically accurate Jesus.

One could not accept the tenets of Christianity if they were removed from the historical context in which they were given. The places where Jesus taught can be visited today. Genuine, legitimate historical records, both Christian and non-Christian, attest to the historical accuracy of the events recorded by the Gospels.

The Koran may or may not be the exact literal words of Allah. The Koran was produced after his death by scribes who wrote down what Mohammed taught. Dates, times and places are impossible to verify historically. Did Mohammed ascend to heaven on a winged horse from the 'furthest mosque' in Jerusalem?

The Koran provides no historical context, no eyewitness testimony, no concurrent historical theme in which it makes sense, but whether or not Mohammed actually rode Buraq up to heaven is irrelevant to the core tenets of Islam.

The life, death, crucifixion and Resurrection of Jesus were all very public events. The historical political climate of the time was hostile to the claims of Christianity, but the eyewitness testimony was accepted as fact because there were too many living witnesses to the events described for it to be a hoax.

All the New Testament documents were written within one generation of the events they portray. Dr. Norman Geisler and Willaim Nix write “In brief, all twenty seven books [of the New Testament] were written, copied, and began to be disseminated among the churches before the end of the first century.”

No other religious belief structure in the history of the world has been as carefully documented as that of Christianity, and no other belief structure in the history of the world has been more closely scrutinized for historical inaccuracy.

Prove to me that I am wrong.

Ever since 9/11 everyone has heard alot about Terrorism. Terrorist this, terrorist that. our own president has said, countless times, terrorism over and over again. But what does it take to be a terrorism? We are fighting in Iraq for terrorists, but what is a terrorist exactly? Terrorists cause terror, hence terrorism. But does that mean anyone who terrifies anyone, terrifies all?

NO!

But there are other forms of the word terrorism, such as ' the use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce, esp. for political purposes.' [link]

But the word terrorism is an abstract noun, not a concrete.

abstract noun
–noun Grammar.
1. a noun denoting something immaterial and abstract, as rest, dread, or transportation.
2. a noun formed with a suffix that imparts such a meaning, as kindness.

concrete noun
–noun Grammar.
a noun denoting something material and nonabstract, as chair, house, or automobile.

What does this mean? Concrete noun is just what it says, concrete. A concrete wall is big, hard, and in the way. Theres no way to not believe in its existence. Whereas an abstract noun is just what it is, abstract. Ever look at an abstract painting? Can you tell exactly what the meaning of it is, or the story behind it? Or, in some cases, do you even know what you are looking at? The word Terrorist and terrorism, are all abstract nouns, just like the word terror.

What am I getting at? The word terrorist is more of a thought, then it ever could be an actual object. Like, for example, lover. If someone is your lover, there is an emotion and thought there, right? But other people wont see it. Same with terrorist.

Why on earth do I bring this up? Simple! Read this headline, maybe you can see.



The Move To Label All Civil Disobedience "Terrorism"

Now, what exactly is going on?

Interesting aint it? Our own president is doing this.

I've done some art and i'll be posting it as soon as i get it cleaned up to my satisfaction.


Now.. with that out of the way.. let me please take a moment of your time to speak of some extremely important issues that have been happening, and to hopefully open some eyes.


First off.. let me state that I am not, by nature, very political. I havent gotten involved as much as i should have over the years, and i've no one to blame but myself.

However... things are occurring that NEED to be spoken.. NEED to be said.. and i have no where else to say them but here. And hopefully you'll say a few things back.


I'm not out to offend anyone.

I've stood back the past couple of years and watched the country that i love and adore, the country that i grew up defending with all my heart and mind, die. A slow... painful.. torturous death.

It seems to have started with the whole event of 9/11 and the tragedy that it induced.. It stemmed from the nature of the event itself, and our own gut reactions to it. It stemmed because we wanted to do what was right, and avoid the wrongs that had been done to us.

Theres absolutely nothing wrong with that, is there?

To me, no.. if someone attacks me, i will defend myself and my family, hands down no doubt about it. And i'd gladly give my life to do it.


But there are certain lines that we may cross in that way of defense that really.. .should not ever be crossed. Not by any sensible, civilized human being.

What on earth am i talking about, you may ask... i'll get to the point...


The past couple of days you might have noticed that the House and Senate have a couple of Bills in front of them awaiting passage.. these bills have been pressed forth by Pres Bush in an attempt to "fight the terrorists". Now.. not withstanding the fact that from every indication, the whole 9/11 event appears, and is proving out to be, an inside job (and for that information one only has to look at everything with open eyes and a closed mouth), I am more than willing to see steps taken to fight terrorism. Foreign and domestic.

I am by no means a pacifist.. when blood must be shed to protect and defend, it must be shed. I'm not against our military, im not "for" any of our men and women being destroyed for the sake of our country.

I am against terrorism, in any of its forms, from body to mind terrorism. Theres much of it in the world today, it is true, and it does seem from an onlookers perspective, that a healthy amount of it has been coming from people who we think are against it.

The general media does not advertize things like this... so for those of you who may have never heard of these things i am about to say, I'm sorry, but you can check the facts yourself, and find out that they are true and its just that the "6 o'clock news" doesnt mention it. Just because the news doesnt say a thing, does not mean it does not exist. And anyone who believes otherwise is a fool.


In Bush's administration is a man named John Yoo.

This came out in response to a question in a December 1st debate in Chicago with Notre Dame professor and international human rights scholar Doug Cassel.

What is particularly chilling and revealing about this is that John Yoo was a key architect post-9/11 Bush Administration legal policy. As a deputy assistant to then-Attorney General John Ashcroft, John Yoo authored a number of legal memos arguing for unlimited presidential powers to order torture of captive suspects, and to declare war anytime, any where, and on anyone the President deemed a threat.

It has now come out Yoo also had a hand in providing legal reasoning for the President to conduct unauthorized wiretaps of U.S. citizens. Georgetown Law Professor David Cole wrote, "Few lawyers have had more influence on President Bush’s legal policies in the 'war on terror’ than John Yoo."

He is fine, don't worry, nothing too bad has really happened.

Last month Ira was having some thyroid problems. And, well, to make a long story short after some tests, by the time he got to a doctor to check his levels, they were normal. SO the doctor basically gave him a slip so that when his thyroid starts acting up, he can just go straight to the doctors to check his levels before they go away again. Ira believes it's Hypothyroidism, which I believe aswell. But the symptoms have left him and he is doing excellent right now.


There is something else too..


By the end of THIS month Ira will be moving. It's a big ball of a mess of things, but it's basically either they move now or Ira's brother will screw him over with the house. His brother already threatened to call the cops to have him kicked out, despite the fact that Ira has to take care of 2 kids by himself with only the help of his mother when she gets home.

It's an ugly situation, it is, but they can truthfully say "Thank you!" Because the place they are moving into seems like it is really nice *its an apartment complex* and in a nice neighborhood. They will be paying a LOT less for rent and such, so more money will be able to be saved till they either get another house or a bigger apartment *they got one for 2 rooms but there are 2 kids too so lol*.

I am thinking that is the most that I have as updates about Ira. Ira has still been influenced to make pictures, but lately he hasnt had time or the oomph to do it. So look out, you may see something new from him sometime.

Well, let me tell you some personal stuffs, and then we'll get into the art, mkay?


First off.. The kiddos.

Seth and Crys are doing excellently, and growing faster than i can pay attention to They've definately been a joyful pain in the butt But thats my kiddos and I love em


Beth is still over in Ohio with her grandparents, and shes doing really well there, and I'm glad shes safe and sound. LOVE YOU HONEY!



As you know from that big last journal entry of mine, I ended up getting a new job, and I actually... am no longer there hahah As of Decemberish I left there, mainly to pursue other things while I am able to.

I worked an average of 16 hours a day there lol Not much time for anything else when you're working that much. Thats the main reason you guys havent seen anything going on with me here, just... wow lack of time.


But now I'm back to actually living and having time once again for my kids and my art.


Some of you remembered that my eyes were having some pretty major problems. The problems are still there, yeah, but diminished a good amount, and I'm seeing well enough to get by. I do need some new glasses, but.. that will come with time hehe


My health is finally doing really good. I had a lot of issues for such a long time, that feeling well is a strange experience for me. But I'm thankful to God for gettin me here and I'd love to see the healthy time stay!


Which brings me to another subject that has been a major change in my life.

As some of you know, I've been a Christian for a long time, but for many many years I was very distant from it. Ive come back to that place again in life where God has a part of it, and I'm glad for it.

You'll hear me talk a lot about it, probably, but I wont be pushy, and I wont try to shove views down your throat. I'll just speak what I'm feelin as I've been moved to do.

But that's one thing that is happening now as well. See.. for a long time I felt that God was calling me to go speak his word to people, to be a minister of some kind. I ran away from that, in a big way, and that was the cause of my leaving the faith..

But sometimes events take place that make us realize that there's "something" there and cannot be denied. That happened with me.

So I'm going to accept the call thats been pressed on me. Every time I've run away from it, my life has gone literally into a hole, and I'd like to not see it happen again hehe


So I'm trying to get into a good school to go ultimately for Master of Divinity, and go from there.



So... if any of ya ever walk to talk God, let me know, I always love to do so


As for artwork. I'm in the midst of a piece right now, and I'll show you a preview of it, so you know I'm not lazing around on the couch eating bon-bons... though that sounds pretty good right about now...

I've still been doing Airbrushing and full scale paintings, not manipulations, so probably for a bit, that's what you'll be seeing coming from me. Course that can change with inspiration hehe but we'll see what happens.

It's been a very long time since I've done this, and I fear the results. Please dont pile on and kill me for being away so long, please?

I've been away for so long... so many changes and so many new faces.


Fresh art and fresh minds, I suppose, eh?


Well.. I'll make this a lil brief just for now, but I'll be back tomorrow with a full update. I just felt that I had to come back and show my mug here once again, to let you know that yes, I am here.. I am alive, I am well.


Theres been... heh... soooo much stuff thats happened in the past few months, that some days I dont know if I'm coming or going, but... all is, indeed, well.

I've not done much art work in the past few months, mainly because of time, but that's starting to change, and I've been working on a couple pieces that might be of interest to ya'll. So keep an eye open for those, mkay?

Ok, first off, a while ago Ira got in the mail a letter saying that he HAS to start working, orelse he's taking off of welfare and such. BUT, if he makes too much, he'll lose it too.

PLUS, for those of you who don't know or may have forgotten, Ira has fibromyalgia *excuse me, my spelling isn't the best* and he has an odd, unnamed condition where he feels pain alot more than an average person. Plus he has arthritis along with a few bits of things, but well he's never been put to be medically disabled for work, when his own doctor even says he needs to be..

WELL that letter didn't seem like a fun wake up call.

along with all of this happening, our good friend Joe * [link] * has been moving in with Ira *I'll let Ira explain that one later if he wishes to* and well, Joe is a contractor for a company that is desperately looking for new people. The good thing about this job too, is that it's a driving job, which means it's a job Ira can handle cause all he has to do is drive medical supplies to nursing homes and places like that, drop off the medication, and go back to first base lol.

PLUS, with this job, Ira will be making enough money to fully stop welfare and get off of medicare and medicaid and the foodstamps fully.. which has got him VERY happy

plus too last night, he got a call saying that tonight is his first day on training *mainly to get used to all the different routes and such, but he gets paid while trainging so thats good too*. Right now he is gone getting his picture taken for his lil ID tag he'll need to wear with him..

it's been really cool seeing him as excited as he is to finally work again, and on a job he knows he wont be hurting alot for. I am excited for him

Ira is a very happy man now feeling good about him self and having many good things happening to him recently. I wonder what will happen next.

but this morning I discovered a problem...

Somehow, the settings in my Photoshop have become screwed up somewhere along the way... and for some reason... ugh... the color management settings got fubared.

Which means?

I have to start all over again.


See... within the .PSD itself (which is the photoshop save file) everything looks the way I want it to. But when attempting to save it in a format able to be posted... everything is SUPER dark and drear and cant see any detailing or anything at all.




So now I get the joy of doing it all again from scratch. Ugh.

It seemed to start when i made A Day... and just gone from there.

On March 14th there was apparently a problem with a 5 year old girl in a school classroom. The girl's mother was called, but could not come to the school immediately. So what happened?

They called the police and the officers handcuffed and arrested this 5 year old child!


A video camera, which was rolling March 14 as part of a teacher's classroom self-improvement exercise, captured images of the girl tearing papers off a bulletin board, climbing on a table and punching an assistant principal before police were called to Fairmount Park Elementary School.

Then it shows the child appearing to calm down before three officers approach, pin her arms behind her back and put on handcuffs as she screamed, "No!"

Largo, Fla., lawyer John Trevena, who provided the tape to the media after obtaining it from police, says the officers went too far.

"The image itself will be seared into people's minds when you have three police officers bending a child over a table and forcibly handcuffing her," said Trevena, who represents the girl's mother, Inga Akins. "It's incomprehensible. ...There was no need for that."



Ya think?

I just find it totally disturbing that the officers would do something THAT drastic. What if she had resisted them too much? would they have pulled out their guns and shot her?

and a quick edit: Let me iterate where i stand on this part of it..

My problem with the cuffing situation is that when the police arrived on scene, the girl was sitting calmly in a chair and had been for some minutes. It was while she was calmly sitting that the officers placed her into cuffs.

THAT is what I find the most disturbing part of it all. Had she been out of control and doing those things she was doing, when the officers arrived, then certainly for her own protection and anyone elses, they should do what they needed to bring her and the situation under control.

But to do it when she is being rational and calm... Thats a problem

Thanks for the info on the monitor thing, I think I have it taken care of now (at least it appears that things are better with it, for now).. so, I'm going to take some time to redo a few things on my new pieces before posting them. Hopefully it will take care of those annoying splotches



I'm still getting caught up on deviations, though my list is so freakin daunting right now. Theres over 8500 deviations on my list to look at. I wanted to clear them all out cause theres a lot of them in there even from almost a year ago, but since they changed how the devs show up in the message center, they took away that little Clear All button, and since then i've been falling farther and farther behind, and my poor lil mind and hands have been having trouble getting the list down heh

im trying.

As I said above, I have over 8500 items sitting in my devwatch list right now, and I'm going to do my best to get through this list as fast as I can. With that said, if I go through your deviations and I hit Favorite but dont say anything about the piece... please dont send me a note complaining about the fact that I didnt comment...

To me, it's thoroughly annoying, and quite frankly makes me re-think watching that person, no matter how good their works are.

You wouldnt believe how many people do that.

I frankly dont have enough time between this, the kids, and trying to do a piece of painting here, to comment on everything (god knows i DO WANT TO!!) but if I feel that your piece touched me enough to fav it (which, i'll be honest, I AM liberal with, but not THAT liberal lol), don't then turn around and bitch that I didnt actually say anything about it.

They've been rather bratty the past couple of days, so it's taken all my time to do them and the piece i mentioned above (total time spent on it about 25 hours gah), but we'll get through it hehe

An update for you guys :

Im doing well on all my new medications, though it has taken me some time to get used to them.. Im starting to feel better overall right now, and thats a good thing. Havent done that in awhile


My eyesight is still pretty horrid, and I still feel rather badly body wise, but it's an improvement over a couple months ago, and anything is much better than nothing, right?


The kiddos... well the kiddos are doing really good.. I went out today and bought a sandbox for seth (and crys as well, though shes just about old enough to pee in it and think it funny, and thats about it lol.. maybe get sand in her brothers hair). I didnt have a chance to set it up today, though, because while i was at Toys-R-Us buying the thing, I also got an old favorite game of mine, Atmosfear (its a DVD Board game, but when i had it long ago, it was a VCR game.. the ex wife, jen, accidently recorded over the video for it, and i've missed the game big big since then).

I took Jolene ( ) with me to get the sandbox, and we had a great time hanging.. but when i took her home, the two of us joined her mom for a couple games of it, and we had a really good time. Was nice to get away from the kids for a bit (mom watched em for me). Love em to death, but 24/7 of em makes me a lil nutters



I also wanted to take a minute to say, thank you, as always, for everything, to all of you who come to my pages and spend a moment of your time looking at what i have up for you to peruse. You all know how hard it is for me to sit here sometimes and work on these, because i get to hurting or feeling pretty shoddy, and suddenly my inspiration is taken by needing to get back together again.

Sometimes I have sad thoughts, sometimes things get rough with the kids, and sometimes i just plain ol feel like shit heh. But still, I want, and desperately, to bring you things that will make you think.. to take a second and realise theres a different view of what might be every day.. to think to yourself... "thank heaven that I saw that today, it changed me, even for that moment"

That's every artists dream, I guess, or at least is, for me.


If I have ever wished one single thing for you, when you see what i do, it's that I hope, even for a moment, that you were changed because of something you saw here.


So please.. take a few moments of your busy day, and see what I'm offering you. A chance for knowledge.. a chance for change.. maybe even a chance for peace, within yourself.

It's bad news... but not the news we were expecting.


First.. luckily and thankfully, its not a cancer. It's calcified granulomas. Can be dealt with heh.


BUT

Here's the bad news...

Turns out, I am now diabetic.

And my cholesterol levels are literally higher than anything the doc has seen, which in a 34 year old man is.. well.. bad.

He's putting me on some emergency medications, to try to bring the levels down some, but here's the thing... my body is doing what my dad's did to him.. its manufacturing cholesterol on its own and without any help.. Guess i inherited that from him too heh


well.. anyhow the hard and fast is that its gonna be a rough time, but doable.. its life threatening, but instead of being a "you have cancer and will be dead in 6 months", it's a thing of "this can kill you but if you handle it you should be alright"

I can do that.

course, doc' tellin me that i am a heart attack just waiting for a reason, thats kinda scary



Anyhow.. just wanted to catch ya'll up on whats happenin.. Im real tired right now, and on the phone as well, so i'll give more tomorrow.

I'll keep it short and sweet and to the point I guess...


I went to the doctor earlier this week.. I went because I have been having the sensations of tasting blood in my throat and in my nose lately, and well.. you guys all know how my health history is. It's not the best.


Well... I went because of the blood thing, and a few other wierd signs ive been showing lately... and he ordered a chest x-ray to be done.


I just got back from doing a blood test because there were "things on the X-Ray" that he is concerned about... and wants to check my blood to see what's in there.

I'm wondering if my thought is comin real.. that i am gonna be told that I have a cancer.


That would be... well. my luck lately i guess. Would also explain a lot of things that have been going on in my body the past while.


The worst thing is I am not gonna be finding out the results until Tuesday.

k well. Anyhow... Just wanted to let ya'll know why i've kinda... not said anything again.. It's got me pretty frikkin scared and I'm just trying to do stuff to keep my mind off of things.

I'll be posting something new tonight, I think. If I can get it done to my satisfaction, anyhow. It's looking okay so far, but theres a few lil things bothering me with it and im trying to get them fixed.

First, a huge thanks to you guys for coming and taking a look at what i have been doing lately. I am hoping you enjoyed them as much as I did making them.

I was really disappointed in how they ended up as far as comments and such, but I also know I have a lot of catching up to do, and have probably alienated a lot of you because of my absence for so long.

Feels a lot like starting over, you know? heh

But that's okay. I'll get there.

Right now I have about... ermm... 1200 comments, and 1000 messages, to try to respond to, along with about 6500 pieces to view.

erm... dont think i'll be able to get to ALL of that... but ill give it my best.

Just wanted to let you guys know that I was finally able to get myself a Wacom tablet! WOO!

Ive been wanting one since I started doin artwork, and finally through the grace of my mom, was able to get one today.

It's an Intuos 3 Pro version, 6x8. Verry nice lol


Now, how the hell do i work the durn thing? where does the key go?


Ahem anyhow, so hopefully youll be seeing some new, GOOD things from me, and ill be a happy camper hehe



Well, the kids are doing great these days, and we're all getting along well together... Seth is really progressing vocally, and Crys is REALLY haulin ass all over the place. Shes saying a lot of little things too, like Hiiiiii and yes, and no.. hmmm Nuuu nuuu for food.. dunno how she got that one lol

its hard to believe shes only, what... 11 months? heh sheesh shes really coming along.


Seths making up ground that he lost over the past couple years and I am starting to worry a little less about my big man... He's sleeping tons better (for those of you who didnt know, at 3 years old hes had TERRIBLE night terrors, god i hate that he inherited that from me...) and his talking is coming along better now. Im still debating on sending him to a speech therapist or something, but we'll see in the next couple months how he does. If he keeps up as he is then ill not worry about it much.


For me.. well...

Ive been hurting a lot lately, though I guess i can chalk it up to being the winter months. Cold really sets my pain centers ajar. I guess though the stress levels of the past couple months have been hitting it too, and coming out that way.. Ive had a lot of help from friends though, and coming here to view you guys' works and relax a bit has ALWAYS been a stress relief for me, so ive been using that too (hope you guys dont mind the abuse hehe)


I havent said or done too much lately, for which i feel really REALLY guilty, but with everything else thats been happening, and just trying to recover from the massive amount of blows I had in the past few months... well... I hope you guys understand my silence. Im sure you do.


The support you guys have given me...

you know, i hear a lot of complaining about how dA can be... but seriously all the people ive ever had watching me have been nothing but support and inspiration to me, and i am eternally grateful for it.

Im sorry its been so long. As you can imagine, things have been rather... out of whack and beyond sorts. and i am really REALLY sorry i havent had a chance to come here and really hang.

but, anyhow...

well.. So far we've been staying at the house and mom took literally everything she made last month and all of what she is making this month to pay off my brother

we've had like.. no money for diapers or anything heh.. but whatever.. we're gonna make it one way or the other.


the kids are doin fine, and seem to be advancing along pretty fast. I think they do miss jen some but overall not as much as i expected they would. But im glad for it, at least they arent screaming for mama every few minutes heh



Am I lonely?

I ask myself this every day, and i suprisingly answer myself with "no.. Not really"

Suprise? very... because ive always had someone around that i was with. Ive always been that type of personality


But i see myself changing that, and I dont mind it at all. Gives me more of a feeling of strength that i didnt realize i had, and im happy for that indeed.



The only thing i am unhappy about is the decided lack of creativity ive felt lately. Short bursts here and there, in between the kids hollering and running wildly *lol* isnt enough for me, and i feel myself goin nuts because i want to work. Just dont know what to do


but it will come, and im glad you guys are being patient with me. I'll throw things up for you to drool over as i get them completed, and i appreciate any feedback you guys give, you truly know that, right?


I love you all and i thank you for being here for me to rant, rave, cry, whine, moan, groan, celebrate and laugh with.


Its been the best experience of my life.

this is getting really... well.. ill tell the story and you take it from there.

Where to begin? At the beginning?

Ok.


first.. let me thank you guys so SO much for all the support so far. gah.. omg its helped me so much and i am not kidding at ALL


As some of you know from 2 weeks ago, my wife of seven years... mother of 2 of my children, Seth and Crystal.. walked out the door for good.

Ok... so ive been dealing with that going on, trying to figure out what to do and where to go from here.


a few days ago, then, we got a letter here at the house from my brother, evicting us out of the house.

well.. we've got it worked out with him to be able to stay til the end of the month and if we can pay it all (omg how???) by that time we can stay.


So theres that.


Now for the NEW news.


OMG you guys are so not going to believe this ...

this morning i get a phone call from my friend Joe (most of you guys know him as my main male model)

Joe has been having jen stay with him since she left me. Shes been there rent free til she finds a job and gets herself arranged

Ok thats really cool of him and i thank him for that.

This morning i get a phone call from him saying that there was 160 dollars missing from his bank account. He stopped at the bank to do a balance and discovered this. After he went to the atm and found this out he went to the bank and got a statement saying where all the account activity has taken place

He discovered that a withdrawl had been made at 4:30am today for 160 dollars at the atm machine near his house (at the gas station)

theres only 2 possibilities of how this happened.. Jen, or Larry, another friend staying with him. Both knew the pin number for the ATM machine, BUT larry had been living there for over 5 months with out a single incident. the likelihood of it being him would be pretty diminished. However, they told jenny last night that she had until the 31st to be on her way because so far she had been taking GREAT advantage of them (wont go into that here but.. yeah bad)

suspicion rises

She tells kelly (joes wife) that she is having her mother come down to pick her up and take her back to their home in another city north to live.

she told me an hour afterwards that she was going to go even FURTHER north to stay with some old friends of hers.

She told Larry that she was considering going to New Hampshire to visit a guy she met online.


hmmm

after hearing about the new hampshire thing i got to investigating around and we discovered that a bus ticket to NH from here would be approx 120 dollars... 40 bucks spending cash for the way.... hmmmm


startin to piece things together a little..

So i told joe to tell them when he got home from work.. turn out your things and lets see whatcha got. May be innocent until proven guilty in the real world but in my house its the other way when i know its one of 2 people, eh?

well

So he got off work at 6.. rushed home... to find jen and most of her things... gone.

joe asked me to watch the webcam at his house to see if she came back but he was running to the bus station cause the next bus to NH, I told him, is leaving in 30 mins

I get a phone call from him about 20 minutes later

There she sat... waiting on the bus to new hampshire

So off she was going to go to NH, to stay with someone she didnt know, met online and talked to a couple of times, after stealing 160 from her best friend, straight from his atm machine, then without a word to her husband and children about where shes going (can someone say ABANDONMENT??)

Open the door.. there she stands all sad and pouty and asks... "can i stay here tonight?"

i could not believe the balls of her.

i said "how did you get here?"

"Police brought me" (I look past her and see the officers car in the drive)

"Did you take their money?"

As many of you know by now, my wife and i seperated last week, permanantly.

I've got our 2 wee ones.. Seth, age 3 and Crys, age 9 months.


Though hard without her here, we're getting by, and ive been enjoying the gains in my relationships with them since its just me



things have been... heh definately fluxy


today we got a letter from my brother Steve.

here's a bit of background on this before i go into it.

My mom is who i live with, and have since becoming disabled and unable to continue working. The kids and i (and jen while she was here) have been on medicaid, food stamps, WIC, to help get us through. Pride doesnt enter into taking care of my kids

Mom inherited this house, which she helped her mom and dad build when she was much (much) younger... theres never been a mortgage, never been rent, never been anything as far as this house goes

Until recently.

When gramma passed away she left the house and literally EVERYTHING to my mom. My step-grandad, however, had different ideas, and though he was already given the lake house by my mom *she wanted him to have a place to go, and that place was worth 210000 dollars), and even though he was NO WHERE in the will (my gramma didnt trust him in the end and left nothign to him for a reason),,,, he sued my mom for $20000 in what he called "deceaced spousal support"...


.... and won it


So in order to keep the house mom had to take out a loan to pay this man off so that she would not lose the house that she literally has lived almost her entire 70 years in.

Mom doesnt have the most wondrous credit in the world, because in the end times of grammas life, she was livign here taking care of her (AND the step=grandad as well), and had to pay quite a bit in medical expenses to keep her going.

So, she was unable to get a loan for this herself.

Enter my brother, Steve.

Steve has over 1 million dollars sitting in his bank account... has a few houses in california, arizona (including one that he just had built and paid 250k for, cash, to retire in)

Steve says.. "mom ill take care of you.. just sign over the trusteeship of the house and stuff so that i can get the loan for you and you just pay me back as you can..."

Mom, being the trusting person she is (especially towards her own son, imagine!) agrees

The rest of us kids had to sign off our shares of the inheritance for this to be able to go through


Enter, part 2... Mom has been making the payments to steve as best she can, while at the same time trying to figure out what the hell to do when shes forced to retire from her job of 25 years... next month she's going to be forced into retirement by the state.

Mom missed a payment on the loan....




Enter the next phase...

We get a letter today from steve..

all nice and formal, lawyer style.. "Shirley Robinson, due to your failure to pay the mortage on your home, you now have ten (10) days to submit payment in full to Steven Ade, landlord of said property, or eviction proceedings will take place immediately....."

blah blah even talking getting the sheriff involved.

Oh... thats nice, innit




So... yeah... wtf are we gonna do NOW?

So in a couple weeks time now, we've lost wife and mother... sanity... and lets see now.. oh what else to pile on nice guy Ira's shoulders (never mind the fact that all this is making me even SICKER eh?) oh i know lets toss them out in the street 2 weeks before christmas and in the winter cold.

First off, thanks as always for your continued support of me and my art as well as my family. Its appreciated beyond any words i can say.

In fact im being rather overwhelmed haha but thas ok I love to hear every word you guys say and just trying to catch up with everything as i type.



For those of you following the situation with my eyes... here's whats happening on the frontlines...

Yesterday I had my first fitting for the special contacts that the doctor ordered, and omg they were uncomfy as hell. But the difference in the way i could see was beyond belief. I havent seen that clearly, that sharply, in over 20 years. And its got me pretty excited for sure.

Im concerned still about the tearing going on, but the doctor is hopeful that with these contacts in to help support the structure of my soft eyes, that the tearing will ease up. Hopefully to the point that surgery will be unneeded. I'll do that if i have to though, more than willing to do what it takes to keep my sight.

Anyhow i go back in at the beginning of the week to get further fittings done, and to have the finalization of whats going to happen decided. I'll let you guys know as soon as i know.


Beyond that, the kids are doin good so far. Crys has been a little sick but she's getting by now, and Seth is doing outstandingly. Beth is doing well in her new school, though i havent been able to talk to her in a couple weeks, i know shes pretty busy and will contact me as soon as she can (she better ya hear me girly?! )


So thats the update for you. Quickie i know, but wanted to catch you up on whats happening.

As far as art front is concerned... well.. I have been trying to work as i can between keeping busy here hehe so as soon as pieces are completed I'll be posting them. Got a couple in the works right now that im pretty excited about.

Wehn I posted Inaction and Reaction, i NEVEr expected it to do what it did. Almost 4k views and 100 faves in a day is... well.. beyond all my expectations to say the least

And I cant say thank you enough for it.

As you can imagine i now have... a TON of messages to go through lol but ill get through them all to thank you individually, check out galleries, and catch up on my watchers and watched. But i wanted to be sure to say a quick something.


My poetry I dont do very often anymore. In fact its pretty rare indeed. I used to do at least something on everything i submitted but kinda drifted away from poetry and wandered into more pure prose based things. But Ive found myself slipping a little towards bringing stuff out in a poetry way, and i guess you guys'll have to deal with that here and there

On the personal side of things...

Ive been... mmmmeh health wise of late. But getting by, and trying to be better day by day. its not easy with what i have, but... ill deal with it, and live til I die I guess heh

Seth and Crystal are growing like weeds, and Seth is really coming along well on his vocabulary since we got his glasses, and just seems to pop out with new thigns every day... when i was looking at a deviation that happened to have a woman with umm well roudned endowments, and he pointed and said... "taataaa" i wasnt sure whether to laugh, cry or be proud cause hes such a daddys son lol but whatever hehe

(hes just 3 for those curious)

Crys is coming along fine.. at 5 months now, shes getting huge, crawling already and is even trying to walk lol o.O that girl needs to slow down

Theres not been a LOT new this week, other than working a lot on some images for you guys to enjoy. Which, so far, seems like you have. Though my two latest, which I hoped so much would do well, kinda... flopped lol

Feeling This... I was especially hopeful for. I dont quite get why it did.. well.. crappy heh but it did. So I guess to the scraps it'll go.

NOTE: for those of you curious about the problems ive been having with my eyes, here's a brief. hehe My eye doctor had surgery on thursday (valve replacement in his heart) but he has the new trial contacts on order, and will be coming in to get me into them as soon as they arrive, even if he is still out on sick leave. Good doc, that. But in the meantime that damn eye is watering red irritated and a mess. heh. Here's hoping for something soon.

It was so unexpected, and yet... so... needed heh all at once.

Just cant say thank you enough for it.


I had another visit to my eye doctor yesterday, and we went deeper into examining what is happening with my eyes, and i wanted to give an update for you to know as well

So far, the tearing is limited to my right eye, and my left is currently reasonably normal. So even if something were to happen with the right, i would be able to retain my sight in my left eye, which, though not the best situation in the world, WOULD be livable for an artist.

The tearing is also not quite as bad as he first saw it to be on saturday, though its bad enough to have him worrying some about it. But he thinks that things are not too late, and that i should be able to get by without the surgery, and just use gas-perm contacts instead. at least for a few more years.

Basically yes i do need to have a corneal transplant done, but it might not be completely needed for another 5 years or so. Mayhap longer, if i take special special care with the eye (and you better believe i shall)


We tried some contacts to see how well i could tolerate it. The left eye wasnt too bad, was like a hair caught in it (which i have been told is pretty much as it should feel when its not a perfect fitting one), but the sight was amazingly different than it is when i look through glasses hehe i could get used to that

The right eye, however... omg... uncomfortable isnt the word. Though, again, it wasnt a perfectly fitting one, he thought perhaps the contact was touching a part of the eye which has a recent tear-spot, and that caused a lot of discomfort. Even with a numbing solution, it was intolerable. But i'll try again, if it will help to save the sight.

Within the next week i have another visit to him coming up, and will find out more, as well as hopefully having a closer fitting set of contacts to try out. Hopefully it will go as well as this appointment did.

I firmly believe that it was the outpouring of hope and love you guys sent out that made a difference, because the way things went was so much surer this time around than last. So again, thank you EVERY SINGLE ONE of you, for it.

Anyhow, ill let ya be now, and ill update as more comes along. For now, things are well.. still really worried, but feeling better about it all at least a little.. and a little is far far better than nothing.

As many of my older watchers know, I do wear glasses, though I dont wear them in the self-portraits I do, because they tend to glare and I hate to work on photos that have that

well...

For a long time now my eyes have grown progressively worse, vision wise, and Ive been fighting hard to keep myself sane as I work against the natural blur that I have heh


Today I had an emergency appointment with a VERY VERY good eye doctor, and found out... my cornea in my right eye is tearing. Badly.

Theres a couple things that are happening to cause it all, but the down and dirty is that due to an apparent birth defect, my eye is extremely soft and pliable, which causes my vision to blur each time i blink or close my eyes. Always did wonder why that was, and this is the first doctor to find the reason heh

But this apparently has worn my cornea down to the point that its ripping, and pretty quickly at that. To the point that hes giving me a very short time period before i go blind


This comes on the heels of the news that my sister is going blind because her retina is detatching, and there's no surgery possible for her. Just found that out last week.

There's something we can do to slow the process with me, which is gas-perm contacts.

And therein lies another problem...

My eyes are EXCRUCIATINGLY sensitive to light, and to anything touching them. Drops, water, finger, whatever, will cause my body to instantly and uncontrollably to freak out. My eardrums vibrate to the point that I am nearly deaf, body tenses completely, and I cannot do a thing about it. Its not a matter of will, its a matter of being utterly utterly freaked heh.

I dont know what to do, and right now im looking through the world through a haze because tears are streaming down my face, because of all this.

My vision is critical to me. As you can imagine.

Top this with all the other health problems i have (again you older watchers know), and I realize that at 33 years old im near frikking 70 body wise.

gah

Anyhow.. i just wanted to get it out in the open. Dont pity, not looking for that.. just wanted you to know.



and before i go, let me say once again that i am so sorry i was gone for that month long disappearance. Im glad to be back among you guys, and i really thank you big time for coming and seeing the new goodies ive been doing lately. It's been a hard road. God one big big long road.

Well, as you can see ive been trying hard to keep myself busy submission and art wise, trying to get back into the wide world of creating a dream hhehe

trying hard to keep up with everything, because Im still not totally into the swing of it all again.. so please be patient if i dont get to you with a thank you right away.

things have been EXTREMELY busy here of late, and im having really limited time to do much, once i get done with the making of a piece. they are just taking me so LONG to do nowadays.

If you look through the pieces ive been submitting, youll see they look quite... different... from what i was doing before the break I took.

Has my style changed? hmmm.. A good question, and one that i really cant answer yet. I still have about 8 pieces that are fully complete, and a few others in various stages right now, and they all seem different to me. Good thing? I guess so; if it keeps me creating then I guess thats a VERY good thing.

They've definately taken on a dreamy, ethereal kind of feeling for me. lol I do like that. always wanted to try my hand at it.

Ive been enjoying it though, and i really REALLY hope you guys have been as well. its difficult, but...

Anyhow... enough rambling from me right now. i just wanted to catch you up on whats happening on my end.

Well.. it's me this time, and I wanted to finally log in after my month long funk and say.. oh my god, i am so sorry everyone.


The past month for me art wise has been... bad. myeah.. only word i can think of heh. Bad enough to wonder if I totally lost the touch, or gone psychotic or something. Well, big possibility, but we'll see in the near future, huh? heh


Anyhow.. Ive been trying to do work, but it seems to have been a time where everything i touched turned to poo kind of thing.. and i hate that. Passionately. So I guess i took a temporary leave of absence from myself for a short bit, and stepped away from all things art, i guess to find some recovery time, or get myself out of the funk, or SOMETHING.. just get myself moving and motivated.

I think I may be hitting the end tunnel of it now. One of my friends here, in an attempt to get my juices flowing, sent a poem my way (well, via , thank you my lil Jole lol) which finally inspired me to do something picture wise... and so i did it.

Is it good? well, i'll leave it up to you to decide on, but if nothing else, its finally movement, and hopefully will get this flow going. god i hope so...

First off, yes he is still alive and breathing and kicking and well... No, he hasn't gone on vacation.. No, he's not sick... No, DA did not mess up your watchlist.. He just hasn't been on DA too much lately...

One reason for being absent from DA is because his Subscription ran out, so he's been doing it here and there, or I've done it for him...

Another reason is because he's trying to get a better sleep schedual put together, and sleep at night instead of day like he has for soo long.. and it's really hard for him so he's been really tired lately, but getting better...

Another MAIN reason why he's been absent, is because he's had little to no inspiration to do art.. so therefore he doesn't have anything to submit, or anything to get an idea from.. but pretty soon here I'm going to see if I can get him to do another JDA with me and see if that'll get him going again

That's mainly it.. so instead of doing art for his time, he's been playing Everquest to have something to do, lol.. but yea.. nothing bad, sad, or depressing is going on with him.. he's been doing fine for the most part

I can't think of anything else.. but just wanted to get onto his account and write a journal so his fans wont come kill him for not being on lately lol..

anyhow. to those of you who are in the wondering.. Jolene ( ) is doin much better now, and her spirits are still nice and good, which is a big big help.

Turns out that she's not as bad off as we were expecting, and that is always AWESOME news. Thanks to all of you for the support prayers and well wishes, they helped more than I could ever say to get everyone through it all.

Spent a long while working on a piece that I am rather proud of. It's an update of Wishing For An Endless NIght. This time around I actually was able to concentrate long enough to write the story with it... and wow talk about not many people seeming to like it.. lol meh

if you have a sec, i would love to have you check it out.. the story isnt long, and the image I am EXTREMELY proud of. The response so far from those of you who have commented (and omg thank you so much for that) seems to be overwhelmingly on the good side! So maybe its worthwhile hehe

I do it for me, but seeing others enjoy what i do does make it time well spent for me. heh. Ahh well, nuff bitchin and self promoting.. HATE when i do that.

Guys, i have a very very VERY large thing to ask of you.

My dearest friend (shes also my main model and just love her to deathers) needs some really good thoughts and prayers and well wishes and whatever else you can toss her way.

The main gyst of the story would be in her journal, here.

I know theres people out there with worse problems, and they need the wishing/prayers as well, but this one be personal to me, and i worry for her, to say the least

Hon, you know I and all of us over here are going to be at your side, no matter what. We love you so much, and just want the best for you, to say the least.

Ive been asked by a couple folks why I give them out, seemingly like water.. so let me give you an idea on my thinking with it.

If someone has spent an obvious amount of time and effort to create something for us to see, and they do it the best they can, and it appeals to me somehow, i will generally toss a fav their way. I dont do it for no reason, or to make them feel good (though if it has that effect, so much the better).. I do it because I know EXACTLY how it feels to pour your heart into a piece, and see it get a few comments and no one fav'ing it. hehe Doesnt feel good, especially when its something that you spent a long time agonizing over the correct choices while working on it.

I also feel that its just a little something that I can do to show my appreciation for what they have done.

Lets face it, the way the DA system works right now, if a work has no fav's at all, there is VERY small chance that that particular piece will be seen by anyone but those who watch that particular person. Fav's make the world go round, I guess.

Anyhow.. thats a small part of the reason I tend to be more liberal with them than others may be.

Money... money sucks. totally.

man i hate money lol

i cant stand it.. it is always the cause of almost every single problem out there (socialogically speaking), somehow, some way.. and if you think about it for a bit you will see it is true.

someone murders someone? crime usually caused by hatred, jealousy, lust, etc. 99% of the time, those things can be directly stemmed from money. Someone has more than you, someone stole it, someone bought things that you wanted more than anything...

Abuse? Hatred of ones self is normally the cause of abusing someone else.. and that hatred can be traced back, almost every time, to being dissatisfied with your lot in life, somehow.


i think money should just be abolished, totally. make it so that everyone starts on an even footing. all members of government are ELECTED, BY THE PEOPLE! (the way it is now, if the people vote for one, but the Electoral College votes another, teh college wins? wtf?)

are you a decent, contributing member of society, in some way? and you have no excuse of illness, or are retired? (for they have already contributed their fair share. even then, they can contribute by helping to educate the young)

if you are.. then you get heat, lights, phone, food, etc for the month/period of time. stop contributing, without excuse, and you can starve, sucker.

stay at home moms/dads are contributing, by helping to raise up the young to be decent members of society. show that you are abusing the system, however, by mishandling your children, or trying to get away with frauding the system, and the children go byebye. you can starve, sucker

heh

anyhow.. just my thinking on things. its flawed but it could be perfected.

Howdy gang. well I know its been like a week since i have been able to give an update, so I thought i would take a second to do it now.

this past week has been a bit of a nightmare for all of us (family and extended included)... lots of personal stuff happening, as well as computer stuff.. basically spent the past week helping and her mom's computers back up and running, after Verizon DSL helped to destroy their systems. ahem. not a happy camper

LUCKILY I was able to save Jolene's files... she has massive amounts of manips, photos, poetry and writing on her system, and unfortunately none was backed up... so we thought she had lost it all.

After about 3 days worth of beating the computer system into submission, i was able to save her files, and get her back up and running.

So thats where the majority of my time lately has been goin heh

Right now running on about.. mmm... 2 hours sleep for the past couple days, and i am soo sooo farking sore and hurting and sick feeling.. I have a disorder that gets worse and more painfilled with lack of rest, and with this week as it's been... well.. yeah heh

Belt in our van decided to go pooftah... no cash to get it fixed... no way to get us and the kids around.. bah

just a generally baaaaaaad week heh

anyhow... I am really REALLY sorry i have fallen behind on replying to your comments and such to me, as well as a big apology to my new watchers for not coming over and thanking you yet... But do not worry, i WILL do it, starting this evening. I just have had NO time, and i hope you understand

Whether or not you get into macabre or dark art, or not, theres still a lot to be said for the techniques which are involved in creating it. There's a number of tutorials out there which show you the basics, but what do you do past just tossing on a texture or two?

Well, this tutorial i ran across goes into more detail than the average, and I think you'll enjoy what you can learn from it.

--- Tip Of The Day ---

Playing with blending modes is crucial when working in Photoshop. Without the ability to do that, the difficulties in creating an image are EXTREME at best.

Try everything, in multiple combinations, to get the start that you need to spring from.

I'll take my latest work, Weary, as an example for you guys in this.

When it began, I started off with 2 photos. this and this.

After a little while playing around with the images to ttry to get them to begin combining, what ended up happening was, the picture of the cave, I flipped horizontally, then set that as the TOP layer, in Hard Light mode. The next layer down was set to normal mode at 95% opacity.

It was looking ALMOST how i wanted it but still not quite. So i ended up laying down a texture of mine on the background (was a brownish colored bark texture from the tree that fell in my backyard last weekend hehe) and had it set to full normal fully saturated, etc. (in other words at this point i didnt mess with the texture at all)

Ok Yes. I am alright hehe the past 5 days or so, however, have been VERY wierd for me, and i must admit to not remmebering much of them. Kinda went through them in a deep deep funky fog, and that aint cool


But i digress.. After being bitten by the spider, i got REALLY sick for a bit, and then got better (obviously lol) but my hand still aches from where i was bitten.

Also for some odd reason, after that happened, i lost complete track of myself, and all inspiration flew out the window. I was beginning to think that the nasty lil bugger stole it!

but I guess i am back hehe got inspired to try something new yesterday, and boy, it was a TON of work. But I am EXTREMELY proud of how it came out.

Tutorial Link Of The Day

Removing Color Cast

While this is mainly used to remove the overtones of a color from an image (such as that red tone or orange/yellow tone), you can also use this technique to drastically change the lighting of an image, in an immediate way Can also use it to remove colors, change colors, etc, nearly instantly

Useful trick to get even more control over your images


Photoshop Tip of the Day

Something that you may not have thought of is using your gradient tool on a layer mask, to fade in an image, and create nearly flawless blends between 2 or more pictures.

Grab your gradient tool, set the foreground to full black, and your background to transparent. Use the LINEAR gradient tool (well, any could be done, but hhehe linear would be for the lines), and you can also set your opacity to the level that you want. (play around with it a little bit to get the perfect setting for what you're trying to achieve).

Its a useful tool and technique, especially if you're trying to achieve a ghostly effect, or a surrealistic blend.

Try it out, and see for yourself. Might be amazed at the results!

Today's Photoshop Tip

Remember when you are working with textures that you can do anything to them that you normally would do to an image, and it can have some very dramatic effects..

For example.. one trick to get the "shining light" effect (such as sunbeams coming through a window), you can create a new layer, or work with a brightly colored texture, run a white or light grey colored brush over the area you would like the light shining in. Set the opacity of the layer to something that


looks correct (will vary per picture but usually soft light, hard light or linear light works well), and then run the motion blur filter on the layer.

You'll see those pretty streaks pop right out You can then erase (or layer mask) the areas out that you dont need.

And there you go!

Today's Tutorial Links

For today, I'm going to bring you a couple VERY nice tutorials for working in Photoshop...

The first one is Photomanipulation in Photoshop . hmm redundant.. ANYHOW...

This is a VERY sweet tutorial, that goes into more than the basics of manipping (such as texturing etc that you always seem to see everywhere). This one has a lot of nice little hints that you may not have thought of before


The second tutorial today will be Heavenly Background .

In this one you'll learn some advanced techniques on making your own backgrounds, and though you probably wont want to do it like this every time, its critical information to open another door in your knowledge.

Remember, knowledge is key, and sometimes one little bit of information can make the difference between a decent image, and an outstanding one.

Today's Photoshop Tip

Don't neglect changing the mode in which you do an image. There's more than just greyscale and RGB. Sometimes going into LAB color mode will break the barrier you have of making your image juuuust right. LAB color mode allows you to adjust the luminance of an image in more subtle ways than RGB mode will.

AND once you make the changes, you can switch BACK to RGB to work normally.

It's one way I use to get the lighting I need in my own images, and I bet it'll work for you as well. Try it. and let me know how you liked it.

Here's a second, related, tip

When you are working with an image, you dont have to limit yourself to just that single file. Work in multiple files, cupying and pasting the merged (or individual) layers back and forth. It will allow you to have even finer control over what you wish to bring out of your image.

Simple knowledge, yet one that you might not think of, and its just one more way to make yourself better.

Today's been a decent day overall, and I was able to get a lot of work done hehe My new image, Worship, I am very proud of. Definately broke a few barriers of my own heh

The kids are doing good, as is Jenny. The little ones are growing fast and Im trying to keep up with their changes lol Not an easy trick

Went and helped and her mom get their computers back up and running well once again. Ack spyware can so mess with a system, to say the least hehe. but anyhow, was really nice to visit with them for a while and just .. be hehe

So thats it on the personal side

After some time away from the computer, getting into tickle fights with Seth and Jolene.. talking things out and trying to "figure stuff out", I figured out what I'd like to start doing around here.

First and foremost, keep up with my art No worries folks, I am not quitting, no matter how much you hate what I do


But I have been struggling for a long time in trying to figure things out, how to's and such. And I think I can help YOU become a little better yourself.

Granted, I am NOT the best at this. Im still learning just as you are. But I spend a lot of time here doing this, and I've learned a few things that might make a difference to you and your own work


So here goes..

I'm going to start giving you a "TIp Of The Day" kind of thing. Might be related to Photoshop, could be Paintshop Pro, could be photography. But either way, it'll be something that you might not know, or know but not think about.

This tutorial will show you how to go from a basic stock picture, to something incredibly cool (making Catherine Zeta-Jones into a cyborg). It's well worth the time looking...






Photoshop Tip Of The Day :
One nifty trick I figured out is that, once I am completely done composing my image that I am working on (all elements set, shadows, etc worked out), I create a brush of the entire image, and use it on a new layer to bring out highlights, shadows, colors, etc, with one simple stroke. (switch the layer to Soft Light/Hard Light/Multiply to get the results you want)

but let me explain what it is that was going on.

At the present time, I am trying like a madman to learn different things to bring the art that I want to create, out. I want to bring you things that you either have never seen before, or bring something familiar to you in a way that is new and fresh.

But I worry that in my efforts to do this, I am becoming trite and cliche.

I've talked to a few of you about this in the past, but I'll bring it out into the public here and now heh This is really for the newer gang of watchers, but those of you who have always wanted to know, i guess read on as well.

I started doing artwork in one way or the other in November of last year. I started literally the day I joined DA. I started mainly doing photography, using my friends as models, and my imagination as inspiration.

I also worked on photomanipulations at the time, which though lacked in skill big time, still had that spark of my imagination, so that i guess things technical wise would be able to be overlooked.

Anyhow.. since that time I did straight forward photography for a long while, and then recently started getting back into photomanips again, at least..posting them.

You see, all along, I have been trying to work my skills up, learning the technicals of HOW to do things in PS, PSP, Poser, etc. However.. my main problem? I am DIRT POOR. Literally. I havent been able to work due to an illness for 2 years, and having 3 kids? heh well you can imagine.

That means as well that I cant afford to get books, education, seminars, blah blah blah, to learn the things that i need to know in order to bring out the types of things that i feel i SO BADLY need to do.. and that is frustrating me no end.

I AM learning, but other than a few things here and there from some kind folks (thank you so much , , , ), everything else that i have learned has been self taught through endless hours of experiment, fail, experiment, fail, experiment, kinda success, etc...

I usually spend anywhere from 8-15 hours a day workin on art, so you'd think by this point in time (all those hours since november, right?) that I would be a hell of a lot further along than I am.. or at least in my mind i should be.

Hell I know people in college that spend less time in class, and more time drinking, that can do the things i would so love to do in a matter of heartbeats.. and here i am plugging away from dusk to dawn (literally lol im a night person) just to bring out a failure (in my eyes).

Why am I saying all this out loud? I guess because you can consider it a cry for help, if you want to look at it that way.

A cry for help to say, hey, if you know a resource that I could learn from, a website or two that shows how different things can be achieved?

Like.. ok let me give a few examples of things I have seen, that I would sit there and say "OH MY GOD I HAVE SEEN THIS IN MY MIND!!!" (or similar, you get the point)

I thought I might as well toss an update your way to say thank you, in a big way, for everything that you say and do. Im trying sooooo hard to keep up with everything, and you guys have been a blessing in disguise for me

Anyhow.. the reason for the tittle of this journal hehe

As you've probably seen, ive done a lot of experimenting of late with styles, techniques, and learning all kinds of new stuff to bring out what I have been wanting to bring out for a looong long time. So far so good, but dang its taking a long time

Anyhow, I know I've been hitting you guys with some experimental projects, and I appreciate it that youve been enjoying it. Its definately different, but I am so so so in love with doing it.

I just posted one, in fact, that took about mmm 15 hours, enless cigarettes and at least 2 migraines lol But i got it done, to my satisfaction. Would love you to take a look (World Come Crashing)

For photography, I have been as busy as ever.. getting in some really nice stuff, and cant wait for you guys to see the finished products. I did a little shoot with my son, Seth (2 years old ) and theres some that are beyond adorable lol. Ill post em up soon

I was absolutely astounded when A Perfect Match made the DTF, and was even more amazed when Dark Heart made it there as well, albeit for a short time. Still, something I guess i can be proud of.

Now.. on to the news


I have been working on a few projects this week, though i can tell you, its going slowly, due to the little ones here, as well as being overwhelmed by comments and trying to return them and thanking folks for the support lol. it has taken some time but i think im finally getting caught up. I was up to over 700 messages there yesterday. o.O


Anyhow. personal wise, things are going well. Seth has been a bit of a handful lately; though he hasnt had any jealousy towards Crystal herself, hes been letting it out in a couple other ways, such as having a fit for 2 or 3 hours for no reason... etc etc. Distracts a bit from my work lol

has been coming over a lot more lately, since its getting warmer out and such, and we've been getting more pictures to work with from that, as well as her being a complete GODSEND with helping out with the kids.

Seth responds to her so so well, his vocabulary opens up and he just seems to be a happier person when she is here. So hon, thank you, in every way, for everything. We love you, love having you around, not just for the kids sake, but all else as well. You're the best.


Now... on to why i wrote this to begin with


I have been wanting to get back into featuring folks and artwork in my journals, to give back a little bit of the support that Ive been given.. and ive found my first choice

left a comment on one of my goodies a few days ago.. and when i went to visit her page, i literally sat AMAZED at her work. And the fact that she has at this time less than 1800 views, after being on DA for 2 years, completely makes me want to barf.
