Well, in Art we're doing a lot of stuff. I like a lot of it, it's really fun to work with new materials and stuff - For instance, we're doing scratchboard right now and we just finished doing oil pastels.

The thing is, I don't know if I should upload any of this stuff once I can get it back and scan it, because they're *all* done with photo refs, and for the scratchboard we're even just tracing a photo.

Hmm.
Scratchboard and oil pastels are really fun though, and I like how they are turning out/turned out.

Any input, anyone?

Every year, our Art teacher Mr. Curless gets with the Art club to paint a mural on a wall in the school. I wanted to join Art club, but I couldn't because I have choir every Wednesday. Anyway, Mr. Curless asked me and a boy in my class if we wanted to draw the mural for him!

We're gonna draw it on a piece of paper, and then Mr. Curless is going to copy it onto a transparency and project it on the wall and the Art club is going to paint it!

I'm happy, jes ja.

Yes, so I'm in school now. Fun, eh? Not really. I'm in Art, so probably at the end of the trimester (November, I think) I'll be submitting some of that crap. Surprisingly, I haven't been doodling much. I did a sick-looking Cenotaj on my DOL paper. I swear, I've been doing DOLs since I learned how to read. I KNOW ENGLISH GRAMMAR BY NOW, THANKYOUVERYMUCH.
Anyway, seeing as I'm in school for most of the time I'm awake (and some of the time I'm asleep, too), I definitely won't have as much time for doodling, oekaki-ing, smudging, and whatever. And I won't spend the entire day online, either, or maybe not be on every day. So if I don't respond to comments 2.5 seconds after you post them like I usually do, don't get worried. I'm probably learning the ever-so-useful skill of copying definitions from a book or trying to read a story while the teacher is reading aloud 2 pages behind me.

~And guess what percentage of Joy's precious online time will be spent on Wikipedia and Linguaphiles?

Everything looks like crap on 800x600. XP
I'm on my old computer right now, because the other comp's internet connection stopped working *AGAIN*, and this comp has an 800x600 screen rather than 1024x768.

Everything looks *really bad*.
Not to mention, really big.
My ID, whose width [I believe] is the 400 I read somewhere that should work on all the screens, goes off the page. There are people whose IDs go off the page even in 1024 -- What screen resolution do they have?

I'm not sure I even want to look at pixel art. The smilies look pretty bad, too.

Meh. I'm getting a new kitty today. ^_^
We're leaving at 6 to go to Louisville, I think. Wewt.

P.S. -- Are the mouseover alt thingies gone from deviations? WHY? I love those things, they're so useful... Knowing the title and artist on the front page or in someone's gallery was a good thing.

Also, it doesn't show the type of deviation on the message center... So I don't know, for instance, if something is a photo or just a preview image for poetry/prose.
Also on the watch page, it shows views/comments/favourites as 0... I'm hoping this is a bug that will be fixed soon, we'll see.

I don't mean to bitch, and I'm sure I'll get used to the tabbed message center and the skin and all, just it doesn't make much sense, some of these changes.

Gasp - I haven't submitted anything in a week! Not an earth-shaking thing, really, but I just felt like saying I'm working on a new ID that's actually got a big detailed BG and lots of big detailed characters and I think it's turning out pretty nice. But I'm not done yet, and it may still be a while.

I want the Oekakis to be bumped off my page as much as you do, but I haven't the inspiration to do anything right now, other than the ID.

So...er...Inspire me!

I get to go to a Weird Al concert next month.

I watched the Twilight Zone for 12 hours today.

Know what I noticed? I noticed that my deviation descriptions tend to be extremely long compared to most people's. The description on my slash (by the way - Read it please ) is almost as long as the story itself.

Some people won't put anything in their descriptions but a '...' or 'I drew this yesterday' or something, but I feel a need to tell people every little aspect of the deviation, how much I love it or hate it or why it reminds me of cheese.

Maybe I'm just too chatty. I can ramble on in journals like this for hours.

On a completely different note, I found a tin of watercolour pencils. Made in Germany. With penta-lingual packaging.
Now I need to figure out what to do with them...

Oh dear. Seems I've caught the photography bug from Cesseh []
I had a dream last night that I went to Washington DC again and wanted to take pictures of EVERYTHING but couldn't find a camera and didn't have any money.

This morning, I went out into the backyard (barefoot and with my dogs) and took some pictures.
These, along with the pictures of the ducks and geese (last week, we went to a graveyard to feed the waterfowl there. Creepy, ne? ), are probably the only non-digital pictures I've taken since last spring.

Fear not, though, deviants, for there's still some pictures left on the roll and they're probably not going to be developed for a while. So you don't have to worry about my crappy photography sharing space with my crappy poems and drawings

Woo. It's summer. This means sleeping in, lots of free time, and... Er, sleeping in. Also, no motivation to do much of anything.

So tell me if you want me to draw you something. I will. I have absolutely nothing to do for the majority of the summer.

I'm seeing Prisoner of Azkaban tomorrow. I'm excited.
I'm also writing slash. It's a good way to release pent up hormones, since I see no attractive beings during the summer.

I am taking full advantage of the search function. It's lovely.

So, in feeble hopes that some of the people reading this on Deviantart are different than the ones that read my deadjournal, give me something to do.
Book recs, flash games, origami. Anything, I don't care. Most of my summers are spent bored. I got nothin' to do.

I've been doodling way too much at school. My hand ends up hurting by the end of the day

In Science, I did another flapping falcon. It's 10 frames long, and I've scanned it and am putting inbetween frames. W00t w00t, an almost-actual speed animation! J0y iz t3h 1337 4n1m470r. Or not.
