well...just thought i'd let you all know, kiriban is only about 400 pageviews away!

i'll be taking fanart requests only. and try not to come up with anything overly elaborate XD; i have a crap load of things to do this winter break already, for myself and school. so ...try to keep it to one or two characters plz. it will also most likely be either a lineart with flat color or just a sketch w/ color. This will most likely be what my kiriban prizes will be for a while

Work In Progress?

So,quick update... just now i came up with this idea. It's an idea that will show you that i'm not dead and i didn't abandon my dA account while i'm in school lmao.

If you check out my profile page, under the slideshow of my " personal favorites",...you will find a box that's titled " Work In Progress". This box will contain a screenshot of a current drawing or thing i'm working on at the moment! I will periodically update it as i work, but once i reach finalization of the drawing, i won't update it until i'm ready to literally post it to my gallery.

I figured this would be a nice idea for those of you who'd like to, in a way, see my process of how i work. or just be fun to see something in progress.
Occasionally i might be working on multiple drawings at once, so it might switch up between 1 and 3 or so drawings.

so, keep an eye out!, hope you enjoy seeing the WIP's <3

oddly an appropriate time to do this meme hahaha...wow...apparently, i'm assuming today my pageviews reached 19,000! FFFFFFF GEEZ GUYS THANK YOU!!!!!!! wow..that was quick! haha...i'm used to back when it'd take FOREVER to even reach the next hundred set of pageviews lol.

Why did you join this site?
i'm pretty sure and/or other friends from highschool metioned and recommended it to me. I probably thought it was just another myspace kinda thing back then tho lol. But after a while it ended up being more of a gallery as it's supposed to be.

hahaha..actually, at the time i joined i was in the middle of watching the Woody Allen film " Anything Else" with christina ricci. There's a line in it, and the main point of the movie, "eh *shrug* it's just like anything else!" and it just kinda rang a bell so to speak and it stuck lol

My first original character ever, Moriko. He originally went along with my Naruto OC lol but he grew out of that and became more of a persona or alias for me i guess.

! i love her humor and i love her art! I've known of her work long before i actually got to know her a little more (when she got a dA account) I also kind of look up to her, i mean considering she's done/doing the same stuff i am starting to/want to do...namely, Graphic Design and making my own comics :3

um..don't feel like finding the tagged text stuff..i'm not gonna tag anyone anyway since all my friends were tagged by each other already XD;

so..gotta write 8 random things about myself? hmm...i think i'm going to actually take this a little seriously and choose things that i know my friends probably don't know about me...
sorry if it's not the most uplifting thing you read today, i'm just in a weird mood, like i'm not sad, nor am i happy, i'm just kind of indifferent and thought-full atm.

1- One of my favorite things to do when i'm home alone, is lay flat out on the floor with music playing (usually Cowboy Bebop, Fleet Foxes or Imogen Heap) and i just lay there...doing nothing but thinking, i think about my stories, i think about the future, i think about the ' what if's ' that could've happened in the past if i had made a different choice, i question where i'm going with my life...and if that's really where i should be headed and if i'm even happy or ok with that.

2- i really REALLY can't STAND the fact that i can't keep from biting my nails and like destroying the skin around my nails and such. I only do it when i'm bored to death, or really nervous (like during crits at school, or while watching a suspenseful movie or w/e). And i do it subconsciously at first, but even after i realize i'm doing it, i can't stop, and i end up making my fingers raw and it hurts like,...all day...it's not fun...but i seriously can't help it =/ i've tried many a time to stop and i just can't...

3- I love Imogen Heap so much. Especially her newest album "Ellipse" it's really great, and i suggest you all go check it out. Her music is just so different and unique. It's so rich and full of meaning and emotion. Her music always inspires me for new ideas and things to think about that i could add to my stories <3

4- I worry a lot of the time that the people who are around me, people i know and am friends with...don't really like me that much, and just put up with me, or humor me for w/e reason. Like, i always feel like the little kid that tags along behind everyone bugging them about things, and they just say stuff to me or give me things to do to shut me up for a while =/

5- I tend to think about things too much. For example, if i'm excited about going on a trip, let's say. I'll think about how great it'll be and imagine all the things i'll get to do and who i'll get to see, and stuff we might talk about etc. ....then, when the time comes...i get disappointed because none of what i thought would happen, happened...which annoys me that i even thought of it all in the first place, and then it annoys me further after the trip is over, because i was worrying about what i wanted to happen the whole time, rather then enjoying the moment and the company i'm with right then. ...this happens too often i think....

6- I have a problem with, touching, and personal boundaries. What i mean is,...i don't mind if others (that i know and am friends with etc lol) touch me, as in hugging randomly or like idk...just in general..but...what i have issues with, is doing the same back to said people. i feel like i'm breaking their personal boundaries and that i shouldn't...what i mean is like...if a friend isn't feeling too great, and i wanna like..put an arm around em and be like " it's ok...etc etc' you know what i mean. but i feel like if i do that, i'm breaking some kind of boundary and i'm afraid of what they'll think of me if i did...even though it's something i really shouldn't worry about....i do for some reason...so i end up feeling like the said friend thinks i don't really care that much about it, when i really do care...idk..it's kinda weird...

7- Sometimes i honestly wish i was a guy lol...i feel like it would make my life so much easier. As a quote from Utena states "Instead of a princess to be protected, I want to become a dashing prince." i'm not literally thinking that way but it's similar. I would rather be the prince saving the princess in distress rather then the princess being saved/protected, figuratively speaking... this also goes along with my infatuation with the knight chess piece, it's all for the same reason.

8- ok, something more light hearted to end on....hmm,..up until 6th grade i was doing tap and ballet dancing like...srsly lol but not as a career or a...

well, first week of school for my Senior year is over...

how the HELL am i a senior already??? D: ...i- i really don't know but i am so..
basically this semester i'm taking Japanese, Intro to Sociology, some design course named Special Topics, Design for the Public Good, & Interactive Design.

so yeah...learning a whole new language, practically starting over and re-learning what i knew and learning all new stuff including action script for Flash for interactive....all while trying to keep up with my other design class' homework and the readings for Sociology not fun...not fun at all. Although i am picking up japanese fairly well/quickly. i know most of the Hirigana now, and how to count and tell time LOL YAY! i feel like i need to watch seseme street in japanese or something...it honestly would probably help hahaha
so overall, i like my schedule this year (except the getting up early part on 4 days of the week), and my classes, overall seem pretty ok so far.

sooo i kinda just wanted to quickly update since i havn't written a journal since july lol...no new kiribans for a while, i might (keyword MIGHT) try to do one for over winter break...but we'll have to see.

I'm willing to take one commission job at a time as of now i know i won't have much time to work on it quickly, but i can span it out throughout the semester or something, so that way i can gain a little cash while working, while doing school at once and be able to equally balance them.

once school's over and summer starts again, i'll be able to pick up on the Commissions (that is, if people actually start commissioning me )
i don't do art trades or requests unless i personally know you or you come up with some super awesome cool idea that i would love to do lol.

in other news, just last week i went to the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia with ~skei, ~bluucircles, & ~firewolf826! it was really fun ! we went mainly to see the Gecko Exhibit they had hahaha and ~skei i think was the one who had the most fun XD she was so happy to see the little geckos

Also, i think i pretty much made up my mind about next year with what cons i go to. I'm just going to try and go to NYCC one day, maybe two/the whole time, depending,...on a lot of stuff..like where to stay if i do, and how much money i have. I'm not going to go to Otakon this year, nor animenext or any other con.... it makes me sad because i like cons, and cosplay, and i like seeing my friends but....i feel as if, i don't have as much fun at cons as much as i did the first time =/ and this past otakon, didn't turn out at ALL how i thought it would be...but i mean i did have fun but...idk...i just thought i'd see a little more of certain people then i got to. Also i feel like if i do an Artist Alley again, i might try and do one at a ComicCon maybe 2 years from now, once i've worked on my style a little better and maybe i'll have a steady job then..who knows... all in all...i wish i could go to more cons but the reality is...i don't have the money, and i'd rather spend my summer saving money, getting an internship, and taking one small vacation to NYCC, as well as, possibly a day or two at the beach with some friends or something. i think that'd be more worth while.
also i think i need to take some time off from the pre and post con stress i usually experience, and take the time to work on getting in shape and honing my illustration style a crap load lol, and working on all of my stories and try to actually give them a plot...i need to do a lot of research for all of them, and so far i've only barely scrapped the surface for research on them =/ once i...

Hey all, i'll try to keep this short

so Otakon's over...i kind of wish it hadn't happened yet honestly. It still feels like it didn't happen, like it was just a dream!...i'm totally serious, after a year of anticipation for it, it came and went so quick. There were so many things i wanted to do for it that just never happened or materialized. To name a few, all of my cosplay plans fell through and thus my photoshoot plans went out the window. I did enjoy getting to see ~sometimescake and ~overkilljoy a little more then usual considering they're two of a few of my friends that i get to see the least. On the topic of not getting to see friends too often, i kind of wished i had gotten some more down time to hangout with the rest of my friends who weren't in my group from the hotel. I mean, considering i hardly get to ever see them in general thanks to school being so busy and the distances between everyone T-T...idk...overall this year's otakon was...better,..yet kind of disappointing at the same time.

on a lighter note i did pretty well in the Artist's Alley so thanks to all who stopped by and bought stuff from ~miniejungie, ~skei, ~bluucircles and I <33 so hopefully next time i can do better then this time, now that i kind of know what kind of stuff to sell :3
and it was pretty awesome meeting all of the earthbound/mother fans haha ..maybe next time i'll actually have a costume too XD;

i'm hoping to be able to go to NYAF, just for fun, no artist's alley. but that all depends on funds, somewhere to stay, and workload from school.. orz

Well, the new school year is here! i'm only partially happy about that because i'm not looking forward to sleepless nights and being overworked and eating at odd hours lol especially since i have enough work to do for myself for the Artist's alley at otakon as well as redoing my Simon Cosplay. BUT!, i am glad about getting to see my friends once again <3 and hopefully i'll get to see them a lot more this semester then last. Last semester was terrible, i didn't have classes with anyone i really knew and i bearly saw my friends even in passing D:! oh and the new building....for those of you who don't go to my school who are reading this lol, my school built a new art building at main campus in the city...which i'm not too happy about..but the building itself is pretty nice...a little hard to get used to i think...in navigating it that is. SO Da came up with a better way of managing profile pages for subscribers ! which is totally awesome (except that you can only put certain modules in certain areas...that irks me a little, mainly because my journal's can be kind of long now that i've got sections for features and all. But honestly i think it looks very nice! and a nice compromise for those who were afraid that Da could be the next Myspace lol

Also, on the note of art and otakon...once this semester's over i'm going to be working overtime on my prints..and i want to have all new prints for you guys! so if anyone has anything in mind as to a show or character they would like to see as a print let me know and i'll consider drawing/selling it :3 ...i'll probably be taking a few polls too here and there over the next couple months.

Well, in light of the new Da layout they're trying out for all us subscribing beta testers atm, i decided to make a new journal layout ! also my last one was too cramped you could bearly read it heh heh ; so here ya are. i'm going to redo my commission info page soon too so it'll be easier to see :3 Also i recently got a Nintendo DS!!!! im so happy lol i also got a pheonix wright game to go along with it X3. It's actually supposed to be for christmas but i was allowed to have it early for whatever reason, not that i'm complaining lol...i'm just very surprised i got it at all! lol on another note OMG MY WINTER BREAK SO FAR HAS ONLY CONSISTED OF BAKING AND DRAWING LAWLZ...sooooo many cookies x.x; (my mom and i made like...5 batches of whitechocolate chip cookies today lol cause we do every year)....then for desert for christmas we're making a cake and an apple/cherry pie...i havn't decided yet...haha. Also...a while ago i had FINALLY obtained a copy of Portal (omg i've been wanting to play that so bad) but my crap computer freezes after the first minute of the game starting -_-;; and i know for sure i met all of the requirements...so idk what's wrong, any ideas? ....

ALSO OMG SCHOOL'S OVER FOR WINTER BREAK YESSSSSSS!!! ....ugh my math exam sucked...i probably got a C -_-; but i finished my entire environmental science exam in a half hour XD;;; it was so easy lol....on that note...this SUCKS SOOOOO BAAAD i don't wanna go downtown TT_TT and i wont get to see probably for a while D: BUT WE STILL TOTALLY HAVE TO PLAN TO DO GROOVIN' LAGANN AT SOME POINT IN THE NEAR-ISH FUTURE!!...that's gonna be so epic...oh...haha yeah for those of you who don't know what that is...you'll find out as soon as i finish drawing the designs XD..it's kinda self explanitory in a way...anyway..i guess that's enough of an update for now :3

i'm able to draw original characters but i NEED REFERANCE IMAGES! if you don't have one, draw up a quick but readable/easy to understand sketch.

a quick background or summery of the character's personality would be very helpful too so i can get a feel of how they should look in your image.

An Introduction

1) What's your character's name?
Blake & Dorian

2) How old is he/she?
Blake: He is 24
Dorian: He is 25

3) Is your OC a boy or girl?
Both of them are most definitely male lol

4) What's his/her race?
Blake: He was born in america but his parents are from England
Dorian: He was also born in america, and his family still lives there, but his mother is japanese and his father is a mix of european background

APPEARANCE

1) If this character were to suddenly become part of the real world, and ended up in a heavily-populated area, how many stares would he/she get?
Blake: not too many, he probably would only get some if he were taking photos at the time...he really gets into that...alittle too much sometimes
Dorian: none at all (aww poor dorian D: lol)

yup, pretty much. that goes for both of them

3) What would be his/her most recognizable feature(s)?
Blake: hm, probably his hair and clothing...he wears nice clothes but they're always wrinkled or half tucked in.
Dorian: His glasses and sense of fashion

yup they both are...well...Blake would be more so if he'd clean up a little more ._.

PERSONALITY

1) Temper?
Blake: he doesn't get outwardly angry often..he just gets ticked off and might verbally abuse the person/thing without literally yelling
Dorian: He doesn't ever really get angry well he does but he just rants and complains he never yells too often...he's quite the shy/reserved one when it comes to emotions.

2) Does your character ever get depressed?
Blake: Yeah sometimes but he doesn't ever show it.
Dorian: He does a lot and he tries to hide it from those he loves because he doesn't want to worry them

3) Leader or Follower?
Blake: Leader most definitely except at certain times with certain people ;D
Dorian: He's a follower but when things need to get done and they're not, he'll take care of it and instantly be an efficient leader...he also likes to be a 'leader' sometimes when it comes to ...a certain someone ;D

4) What is the main aspect(s) of his/her personality?
Blake: bastard, lazy, lonely, photographer
Dorian: Reserved, organized, helpful, dreamer, photographer

HISTORY

1) Did your OC have a family of any sort? If so, are they still alive?
Blake: yes most of his family still lives in england/europe. Blake's parents had moved to the US after they got married and lived there till Blake was in highschool. They then moved back to england with Blake and his older brother.
Dorian: yes he has parents and an slightly younger sister. She's 23. His parents have a nice little house in the outskirts of NYC while his sister lives not too far from Dorian and visits occasionally and vice versa

2) Is your character out on his/her own? If so, why?
Blake: yup, after moving back to england, when it came time for him to go to college, he decided he wanted to study in the US and has lived there ever since. The reason why he wanted to go back to the US was not only did he like it there more then back in england but his parents were too overbearing for him and he felt he needed to strike out on his own and do things his own way like his brother did.
Dorian: He's on his own but his family is still around so when he's having a hard time he still has someone he can lean on. He's on his own mainly just because of what he does for a living, (photographer for a Fashion magazine) and so he needs his own space to develop his photos and things.

3) Has he/she encountered any traumatizing events?
Blake: not necessarily, i guess the most traumatizing thing that happened to him was meeting Dorian his coworker
Dorian: Pretty much just when he came out to his parents...his sister had already known for years but he felt awkward telling his parents and finally did...they didn't take it very well at first and Dorain was quite down for a while but they soon were able to accept it and make amends. The only other not too traumatizing thing is that he hates his name and so he tells people his name is Ian because kids at school always...

yeah i just wanted to say that i'm sorry if it sounds like i'm being whiny and complaining below...because i know there are some people who are having a much harder time then i am with certain things. so yeah...if any of you guys (from school) need help with anything feel free to ask ^_^ ...cause i think we all understand now just how terrible graphic design can be Dx

Alright well...to make a long story short i havn't been feeling to great lately...
that is....physically and emotionally....and school and work and problems at home aren't helping too much.

to make this simple..let's put this in sections

Â School Â

It's like, one big cycle. I spend an entire day making my typography homework perfect...and only a few hours on my rainforest brochure....and maybe a couple hours on my restaurant project... i'm..typicially up all night wednesday night or thursday night doing typography homework...because my teacher wants us to do 6 posters at once....now...i also am taking math...we're not allowed to use a calculator (AT ALL) and wouldn't be too much of one to complain except well...i SUCK at math..especially certain parts of the basic stuff which messes me up with the more complex things...and well...environmental science...it's a joke class but i'm afraid of the test ...i don't know any of the material well enough because i have litterally no time to study....and the restaurant projcet ties into the next topic...

Â Work Â

i'm only working a measly 12 hours a week which is somehow just getting me by with paying my bills and allowing me to actually eat on mondays and wednesdays...though this little bit of work is usually friday nights...and saturday and sunday mid-day ..the times in between are litterally all i have to work on my restaurant project...and i feel like an idiot everytime i go in there with terrible logos and names and i'm obviously FAR behind everyone else...
i would love to stop working while in school..but i just can't afford to...

Â End Result Â

i've been quite depressed lately not only for the reason's i stated above...but also because i hardly see anyone anymore. i occasionally see a friend or two in passing...and i'm used to seeing my friends all the time. Idk...it just feels.... really lonely...really really lonely.
getting no sleep ontop of this has been making me tired enough to fall asleep driving at times...as well as making me feel sick constantly, nothing makes it feel better..even if i try and get a decent night's sleep here and there

the only good thing that's come of all this is probably that i'm going to otakon this summer..idk

-i've been late to class because i'd get stuck at every single light on the way to school..yet comming home i get all green lights..wtf

-my indesign CS3 classroom in a book CD is stuck in my laptop's CD drive..no idea how to get it out other then to take it to the mac outfitters near me. ....oddly enough the CD worked fine the first 3 times i put it in and took it out...

-been spilling things left and right

-i saw a truck that had fake,..plastic? (possibly rubber) balls hanging from the tail end of it...had to stare at that for practically my whole ride to school....how pleasant -_-; lol

anyway....sorry for being kinda down...there isn't really anyone to talk to right now and i kinda just wanted to get it out....

i just really hope that all this bad stuff will lead to something amazing in the future...i imagine that's the best way to look at the situation...and to just work hard to get my things done.

I'm Taking a Break...

I realized that there's a lot i havn't done that i've been wanting to do for a long while now
and so i decided i'm gonna take a short break from everything and everyone
so don't be surprised if i don't answer my phone all the time or if i don't reply to comments ...also..don't be surprised if i do answer my phone or answer comments...lol not sure how long i'll keep this going but definately not longer then it'll take for school to start. I have a lot of things i wanna get done and it seems that when i have people IMing me or calling me or w/e i never get them done, as well as the fact that all of these things create a distraction later on so i don't feel like doing what i wanted to do in the first place thus...i never get them done

so...i'll see you all...sometime soon

happy birthday to me!
yeah
my birthday was on friday !
it wasn't really much of anything though lol...i saw the hulk with some friends...and got some presents from a few people but this birthday just kinda went by without much acknowledgment actually. mostly because i got my present (my camera) a lot earlier because of a trip i went on before school ended. so technically going to AnimeNext is kind of my present to myself i guess
but another reason why it went by without much notice is because i've been working constatnly on things for the artist's alley as well as working on finishing up my costume (still have a lot more work to do though x.x; )

anyway so yes i'm 20! ...i'm not a teenager anymore!...though i don't feel any different lol
i still feel like a little kid XD it's hard to think of myself as an 'adult' or w/e even though i have grown more mature very quickly since i've started college. i've learned that joking around is fun but in excess it just gets annoying...and that i shouldn't make everything i do at school and in general, into fanart...though it's still fun to do so on the side for fun :3

Alright!! time for something FUN :3

in celebration of my new camera and comming back to Da fully now that school's over
let's play a little getting to know me type game

i know that when i have a favorite artist on Da i sometimes like to find out interesting things about them because sometimes it can show in their work and make that more interesting...or it's just something silly and fun to know lol

so...if you have a question you always wanted to ask me or w/e, i'll answer any question! (with the exception of personal stuff like address, phone#, social security# etc lol)
and in addition, if you want to see stuff of mine then i will take a picture of it as well! such as,...you could ask to see my work desk, or my manga or anime collection..or my room..etc etc

well then as you can see my journal changed A LOT lol
for a while now i've wanted a journal with sections where i can feature work i find interesting
and a place for stamps etc etc...
i got the layout from someone on Da..their name escapes me but if you click on the "get this CSS" at the bottom of the journal you can check it out =3
i made a lot of modifications..it was going to be blue and brown...but then i saw Speed Racer and decided i wanted something more flashy lmao XD
i might change it later might not...who knows... at least i'm learning CSS little by little so that's good

and yes..Speed Racer was amazing..i don't care what people say lol..i like kids movies and i like anime..and i like flashy-ness and bright colors lol so it works. seriously tho i thought they did a really nice job on the movie overall..though there were small things that kind of bothered me still
i also saw Ironman. i wasn't too keen on the idea of seeing it before. but i'm glad i went lol it was awesome! normally i kinda hate Marvel comics...the stories and style never appealed to me much...but i guess you could say i've been more open minded about art style lately? so i don't hate it anymore...it's just not my favorite thing i'm indifferent about it ^^ cause the character design...

yay time for an update ! (plus i needed to get that oraphaned works thing off my front page lol)

so yeah 12 school days = 2 weeks of school left OMFG @_@ it's all happening so fast lol

in a way i kinda don't want school to end because i really like my lithography and photo classes despite how much work i have to endure to get things done on time
but then in another way i want school to end NOW because i wanna get started on all of my own work lol because i'm still hoping i'll get a reply from AnimeNext about the artists' alley ..it's been a month now...still no answer ><
but yeah

on that note if anyone has any suggestions on what i could draw or things i could make for animenext to sell feel free to comment with as many as you want :3 i appreciate the help

Someone posted a journal. It linked to an article. A really stupid article written by a really stupid man about orphan works legislation. Using personal attacks, weasel words, outright lies, and some choice quotes from people that would apparently like to be able to continue to receive royalties on every pencil drawing they've ever made since the beginning of time, he weaved a 3-page tale of how the big corporations are planning on stealing our souls (and all our copyrights) through legislation that aims to increase the number of works that enter the public domain.

I doubt that my response to the magazine (Animation World Magazine, in case anyone is curious; here's the original article [link] ) will ever be printed, so I'm posting it here for posterity. And also because I spent a while writing it, and don't want that time to feel totally wasted.

(I fucking hate this sort of misinformation campaign bullshit.)

LETTER BEGINS!

As both someone that is aware of the current issues surrounding copyright law in general, and orphaned works specifically, I don't know where to start with this error-riddled article.

First of all, Mark's definition of orphan works is wrong. An orphan work is a creative work where the original copyright owner cannot be located or identified. What he is describing as "orphan works" is, in actuality, the public domain. (Though, improper registration only applies to works from before when the Berne Convention was ratified.) (See [link])

Second of all, there is no current legislation before congress regarding orphan works. The Public Domain Enhancement Act was the last bit of legislation regarding copyright and orphan works reform, and died after being referred to committee in 2006. You can confirm this yourself by searching for "orphan works" at the Library of Congress ( [link] ).

Third of all, the Public Domain Enhancement Act doesn't legalise theft any more than copyright expiration legalises theft. Copyright is supposed to be a short, fixed term exclusive right that encourages the production of new creative works. Copyright was not intended to allow Disney to continue to make money on cartoons created 3 generations ago, or for John Lennon's wife to get rich off her dead husband's estate, but that's how it is today thanks to the large media conglomerates. (For someone that's spending so much time railing against corporations, Mark seems to spend a lot of time not talking about how the major film and music studios have pressured Congress to extend copyright terms 11 times since the original 1790 copyright act.)

Fourth of all, the Public Domain Enhancement Act requires a token payment of $1 every 10 years, ONCE THE COPYRIGHT HAS BEEN IN EFFECT ALREADY FOR FIFTY YEARS. That means, the first 50 years of copyright are still free, even under the proposed Act.

Fifth of all, Mark is wrong about current registration requirements. In order to file ANY copyright infringement suit, not just one for statutory damages, you have to register the work with the copyright office. Statutory damages can only be claimed if the registration is made within 3 months after publication of the work or prior to an infringement of the work. All this information is easily available from the Copyright Office's Web site ( [link] ) so there's no reason for him to get it wrong.

Sixth of all, I'm very interested to learn how the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation makes Bill Gates money, since Mark claims that Bill Gates doesn't "do anything unless it can make a huge amount of money". I'm even more interested as to how Mark thinks that Bill Gates stepping down as chairman of Microsoft to move into philanthropy will make him more money than continuing to run the largest software company on earth.

Finally, the most important thing. The point of orphan works laws, which is COMPLETELY missed by this three page comedy of errors, is NOT to make it possible for people or corporations to steal your work. In fact, most of the orphan works legislation has been pioneered by people such as Lawrence Lessig and Eric Eldred -- people that are TIRED of big corporations continuing to steal from the public domain by pushing forward copyright term limits. anyone ever hear of that movie before?

i went to hollywood video tonight because my aunt called and told me the one store near me was going out of business so they were selling all of their stuff. And me of course recalling that they had anime there lol i just had to go XD ...but despite them not having anime when i got there, they did have some interesting movies anyway....
thus the title of this journal.......

Kazekami Girls

it's really quite the most adorable funny sad and thought provoking movie i've seen in a long time...

Ok i lied....since gurren lagann lol XD but yeah...it's this liveaction movie about this girl that grows up in a divorced family that's actually quite poor and she basically hates it..and so makes her own life out of what she has thus selling her father's products (that are really crap btw)to get money to buy lolita-type clothing...because she has always dreamed of living in the Rococo period in france...because everything from that era was frilly, happy, pretty, fancy, clean and sophisticated.....but then one day...she is visited by who she thinks is going to be a cute little girl wanting to buy her (her father's) products...but turns out to be this really butch 'yankie' girl that's in a gang and rides a scooter/motorcycle thing lol...and it's just their days together after that ...its a really good movie..a little quirky but...good none-the-less

i really suggest finding it and watching it =3

anywayz...on another note
i'm working on a drawing right now...i really like it...but now that i'm coloring it i'm having a little bit of trouble making it look good again so..yeah...i'll havet hat up in maybe about a week or so...i'm not sure....other then that school is taking over my life.....

in a way i kind of want to just quit and do what i really want to do with my life...and that's just to sit around all day comming up with stories and then drawing the characters and then making manga out of them .....but then i think...if i finish at tyler...i'll be pretty set with getting a job....but i don't want a job in graphic design...idk why you can't just go to college and learn what you wanna learn....instead of being forced to pick a major.....i mean...i'm pretty much just going to college cause my mom wants me to...i mean...i would go to college for myself if i was able to go for animation or illustration or something that would help me with drawing people and stuff for manga...but no..i mention that to my mom and she says " but you won't get a job doing that.." so i'm stuck with graphic design...i mean don't get me wrong i love that too...it's just i don't want to do that for the rest of my life....it's basically just a back up plan in case all my other plans backfire...
but it seems to be taking over my life more then i want it to right now -_-;

not very bright...
lol he's not very intelligent but instead he's quite wise
also he's not very strong but he would like to be
also he's in search for his soul mate and isn't totally sure how to go about it so with the help of bad pickup lines...he gets smacked a lot...

3. Anything good about Fang?
he's really sweet once you get to know him. He loves animals, esp desert ones. his spirit is what keeps him going when things go wrong.

4. What's Fang's world like?
ah..he left his home just before he became an adult (about 19 years old) and wandered for about a year before he finally found his home in the desert.

5. Does he have any significant others? Would Fang make an ideal partner for anyone?
not as of right now. he basically hits on any attractive girl he sees so long as their not a whore...he has it in his head that his soul mate could never be a whore lol....but yeah...he's the ideal parter for Ahzahlie, but....*whispers* he doesn't exactly know that yet X3

he'll just find a nice quite place to sit and think about things and converse with his spirit guide (a coyote spirit)

Not ever finding his soul mate or at least someone to share his life with...also he's afraid of losing his friends because typically he's just a burden...

no...not really, he wishes he were stronger and smarter

just acting like a fool and doing w/e seems fun at the time

he'd attempt to speak to people using drawings in the ground with a stick or just with hand motions and if that doesn't work he'd give up and keep moving till he found a place that spoke common

this is sooo totally awesome X3!!! and it's all thanks to

yeah...i basically just drew a header thingy and played for a bit with colors and took stuff out, added some stuff...i failed a few times XD but it worked in the end
and....simply put

alright well, for once an actual update on things

OMG @_@ finally i can sort my artwork on here! i love the new feature. although i would like to be able to put folders, within folders but alas ....still it's a really neat idea and finally i can emphasize my best works instead of having them mingled within my random not so very good fanart and my school work

for one this weekend i went to Tandokucon with a few friends from school and it was totally a lot of fun X3 i'll probably submit a few photos or something later on not sure tho...
anywayz, i boughtz a Katana that's a bright saturated blue with small black splattered speckles all over it and so i named it Kamina....>> yes...the Kamina as in TTGL *shifty eyes*
and i got a TTGL pencil board there too *hugs it to death* thanks to mj X3 thank you mj so much for finding that @_@!!!!

since Da's being all BLEH about submitting animations now, i'm probably going to submit my animations to new grounds and link them here so you all can see =3
but once Da opens it's whole film thing to everyone i'll just delete em from there and move em to here so be on the look out for more updates on that

also School is nearing a close once again. technically i have like 4 or 5 weeks left but in most of my classes i only have about 2 1/2 weeks left which is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G lol because i needz to draw teh fanartz of teh goodness that is Gurren Lagann lmao
as well as a bunch of other ideas i've had
as well as get caught up with naruto again, finish deathnote, and a million other serires
AND work on my Roxas costume and the 2 keyblades ...yes i did just say Roxas lol

which leads me into my next agenda

i am going to Otakon this year (Aug. 8-10, 2oo8) and i'm gonna be Roxas for Friday and Simon (from Gurren Lagann) on saturday and probably sunday too =3
so yeah
if you're going let me know and maybe we can meet up there or something =3 or if you live close enough we can go together! (this doesn't apply to my friends who are reading this cause they already know that we're all going together lol XP )
