Moronic ness aside, with my upcoming end of the semester and graduation, the panic levels are definitely starting to rise here. With finals to do as well as a good amount of stuff accumulated over the past 5 years that I need to somehow throw/sell/burn away....yeah. Panic time has started...and I've yet to do much about it. Wow I'm so sensible, aren't I?...

Kurenai Wataru (Kamen Rider Kiva) - Shoot only so far, I personally wouldn't want to cosplay a human form for a convention, although this went quite well IMO.

★Who is your favourite person to cosplay as?
Kamen Rider Kiva. It might seem obvious to most of you, but this actually started off as a very impulsive 'hey I only live once, fuck it, let's do something crazy!!!' thing. I actually bounced between several Rider choices, but decided on Kiva as I found his design eye-catching and appealing enough to even non-Rider fans. I didn't actually watch the show in depth until after I had decided (and commissioned) the costume.

Since then though, I've definitely identified with Kiva/Wataru quite a bit, for the whole wanting to become stronger deal. I also take character portrayal very seriously and do my best to make sure that I not only pose properly, but that I mimic the mannerisms and posture of the character properly too so that I both look AND feel like Kiva.

★Who do you REALLY wanna cosplay as?
Wow, Kamen Rider wise, there're so many.

I'll let the cat out of the bag now and say that Kamen Rider W is definitely in the plans. Since I also intend to always cosplay a Rider's alter ego, that automatically means I want to cosplay Shoutarou as well.

Aside from him, Sieg (Imagin form), and even some other secondary Riders like IXA (save mode), Gatack, Punch (or Kick) Hopper and even older ones like Chalice, are all up for consideration. It's just a matter of time...and money *sigh*.

I actually do have some non-Rider characters that I'd like to do as well. Namely, Oswald (Armour form) from Odin Sphere, mostly to show my love for the game.

★How many of your friends cosplay?
Quite a number of them are, to the extent that I generally refer to them as 'My cosplaying friends'. It's a huge group and many of whom I'm very fortunate to know. I've received a ton of support from them and I'm extremely lucky to be able to call them friends.

★Have you ever walked around in public in your cosplay outfit?
Oh hells yes. I've walked around, ridden the train and gone to public places in costume. Much hilarity.

★Have people in public ever recognised you and asked for photos?
Oh definitely, getting recognised and mobbed in a costume like a Kamen Rider's kinda part of the job XD. If you want to get technical though, I admit in Singapore, I've not been recognised as 'Kiva' specifically that much, but more of a 'Kamen Rider/Masked Rider' in general. It's still better than in the US though, where people just think I'm a Power Ranger -__-..

★Have you ever made your own cosplay outfit?
Not really, unfortunately. I fully admit that I'm terrible at making stuff and hence, my choosing to instead focus on character portrayal and carrying myself.

I do want to give it a shot one day though...

Less rambling this time; school's still been pretty work heavy, but again it's nothing I can't handle. Tests have been kinda here and there, but I suppose overall I'm not doing too terribly. Although being a bit of a perfectionist, I always want to do better. So mreh to that and all.

Definitely gotten some good drawing time in the last few weeks. Did a few drawings and sketches for MSG Man again, subtly tweaking and polishing up the designs for the old staple characters. Within the next few days I hope to be able to put up some of it again. The script for Chapter 13 has kinda stagnated unfortunately mostly due to work, but I hope to solve that soon next week.

Halloween's coming! Already, my (possibly) last Halloween in America. Man how time flies. I have some slight regret that I hadn't really made the most of all my previous Halloweens when I really should, being how that it's not really celebrated at all in anywhere outside of America and especially in Singapore. So...I'm probably gonna goof around as Emperor Form Kiva as I might as well give the costume some 'road time', which it has yet to receive!

Aside from all this, mostly because I am quite the sap for classic romantic stories, no matter how cliched they may be, I got into Love Plus for the DS, which you may or may not have heard of. Yes, it's a dating sim/gal-get game like Tokimeki Memorial, one of my favourite game series of all time.

Yes, you can use the touch screen and touch the girls and even kiss them and all. But no, it's not some perverted little device, and it's definitely not meant to be a way for people to escape or replace a real person. It's just an interesting new take on an old genre of games that's not had much exposure outside of Japan, and a really sweet, adorable story experience. Anyone who thinks otherwise is either really sad, or just really narrow minded, so there. Anyone who has a decent grasp of Japanese (or isn't afraid to do it trial and error), and is interested in this sort of thing, I definitely recommend it with some slight reservations, mostly due to the repetitive nature of this sorta game and its price.

Life's been rather bumpy for me lately, with me having a myriad of problems. Some are problems I'm very used to, such as the stresses of school, work, and school work. These problems, I get by with in a flash as it's all stuff I'm used to and all.

Then there're other problems of a far more personal nature. As I'm a newbie to problems that attack one's heart, I've been having a pretty difficult time wrestling with such love problems. However, I've always prided myself in striving to be a strong person, and I think I have been successful. No one's gotten hurt (except for myself, and I don't give a rat's ass about that), and I've not ruined any of my friendships with anyone, so all is great in the overall situation.

In all this, there have been some good ups. Kiva Emperor Form is finally here as you might've been able to tell if you follow my deviations a lot. I've not been able to take more pics of it mostly due to not having much time to don the costume, and also me having been busy with doing some adjustments to it. Some issues such as the falling off knee and thigh pads have already been fixed, but others such as the right forearm armour not fitting my arm, are proving to be far trickier. With a bit of luck, it should all be good and done with before at least Halloween, I predict.

Aside from cosplaying, I've also begun writing the script for MSG Man Chapter 13, aka the finale. It's off to quite a good start, although again recent progress has been slow due to my being busy and/or tired.

And that's what I've been up to in a nutshell. School stress is something I can deal with as it's nothing new. Love problems, I'm quite over with as I've accepted that I'll probably be alone for the rest of my life. Finally, I'm looking forward to getting some good comicking time in, as well as giving Emperor Form its first public debut soon.

It feels really strange being back, yet somewhat familiar at the same time. Together with having to go back to classes, and dealing with the usual massive jet-lag, and I'm having one hell of a time adjusting back.

But, as the wind continues blowing despite the obstacles in its way; I too, must be like the wind and trudge on.

But enough hokey stuff, let's talk dAness.

Comic plans, holy crap. I've seriously been neglecting not just my plans, but drawing as a whole. I do intend to get back to doing some drawing ASAP, as well back to comicking. MSG Man Finale is sounding like something I might end up doing first. As for Iron Musketeer, it's looking a bit iffy at the moment, what with my changing taste in things. I am no longer feeling mecha stuff in general, and that is significantly putting a damper in my enthusiasm for continuing with this idea. Even though I did say mechs won't feature too heavily in it, the very fact that I am awkward with drawing mechs is seriously slowing down any possible work with it. I don't want to be too absolute yet, but there's a slight chance I may want to do something else entirely. We'll see.

Anyway, just thought I'd do a quick post to explain my recent absence. Been in Japan the last two weeks for a school cultural trip, and I'm currently in Sapporo attending classes at the Hokkaido University.

So far it's been an absolute blast, getting to meet lots of new people and getting plenty of chances to practice my Japanese and realise what an absolute failure I am at it.

I am looking forward to going home in about 2 1/2 weeks though. All this running around has made me kinda tired and while it's nothing I can't handle, it does prevent me from being able to be fully engaging.

Getting prepared for my school trip to Japan in mid May, which is going to be exciting. Of course, what's also exciting is the wait for my Emperor Kiva costume to be completed. I expect nothing but the best from my man, Sushiya.

In the meantime, I'm just hanging out with friends and probably may start looking for prospective jobs and eventually, get back to working on Iron Musketeer. Once the jetlag goes away that is...

Finally, also planning on ideas for another Kamen Rider based shoot, hopefully with my buddy, Auel joining me as Den-O. This would effectively, result in our own kind of a Climax Deka shoot I suppose, which ought to be awesome.

If I'm not writing a paper, I've just written a paper, thinking about writing a paper or preparing to write a paper. I so need to go out for a non getting food/going to class/doing a necessary action reason.

Which is why I think I definitely need to take time out and go to Boston Comic Con this weekend as Kiva. I think it'll be a nice break for me. Sure hope it turns out good!

Anyway, plans!

Comics wise, I've been seriously robbed of time to work on Iron Musketeer. I will make good on it soon, I swear. Just 2+ more weeks and I'll be on my way home, yay home!

Also, the plan is set - for July at home (in Singapore), with a bit of luck, I'd be doing Kamen Rider Kiva - EMPEROR FORM! This is gonna be so exciting for me, as well, it's obvious I'm a big Kiva fan. I know I told many people I wasn't gonna do him, but since Sushiya's a fantastic guy, he gave me a decent discount on it, and the fact that I didn't need many basic elements of it helped to lower the cost. So thanks, Sushiya! Here's to hoping he does a great job (and I know he will), and that I'll make for a good Emperor Kiva!

Just thought I'd do another update as a fair bit of time has passed since the last entry and all. While Anime Boston for me is definitely still out of the question, Boston Comic Con is slowly becoming a potential new convention for me to go to. It's occuring on a much more agreeable date (April 4th or so), and besides; I've got to make use of my Kiva costume that I took the trouble to lug all the way here from Singapore .

Anyway, Iron Musketeer progress has been achingly slow due to me getting swarmed with college work and other college related issues. But worry not, I am pretty determined to get it started soon, but not until it's good and ready.

Anyway, firstly non-comic updates. I was intending on going to Anime Boston as I have been the past four years, this time as Kamen Rider Kiva, which was the plan.

UNFORTUNATELY, it's falling on a date far far later than I had expected - May 22nd. This isn't gonna work as I am scheduled to go on a Dialogue school program to Japan, which is a huge deal for me (it's been a while since I'd last been to Japan, and it's good college credit too).

As much as it pains me, Anime Boston is OUT for me - made doubly more unfortunate as it was probably going to be my last one, seeing as how I'm schedule to graduate this year's end.


Anyone have any other good conventions within Boston, or even nearby (such as New York maybe?) that I could go to? I took the trouble to bring my Kiva costume back to Boston with me, it's sure as hell gonna get used!! XD


Anyway, comic wise, the script to the teaser chapter (now called Act 0) for Iron Musketeer is almost done. Being a teaser, it's mostly a short, quick, but good look at the setting and world that the comic's gonna take place in. It's also gonna serve as a testing ground to see if what I've been doing for Iron Musketeer actually works for me.

Slightly badly in my case.

MSG Man Chapter 12 - Additive Free is finally complete! However, my scanner has taken this time to keel out on me. As my process is to always do the cover of a comic last, this means that Chapter 12 is without its cover.

Since I simply can't release a comic without its cover, that means the release of MSG Man 12 will have to wait a little while longer until I possibly get a new scanner. Maybe tomorrow or so.

So sorry about that folks, but it won't be long!

Here's a checklist of things I'm currently doing or planning to do:

MSG Man Chapter 12- The script to this is being written at the moment, though due to me catching up with sleep/friends/etc, progress has been slow I'm afraid. Still, it's been coming along fine, and hopefully I'll be able to start on the chapter soon.

MSG Man Chapter 13- This will definitely have to follow up quickly after 12. I'm even considering penning it back to back with chapter 12, so I can draw both in one shot too. We'll see how it goes.

Iron Musketeer preview- All this rush to finish MSG Man is to lead up to this very project. My enthusiasm to start this is very much still there, and with some luck, hopefully I can do it by this year. Hopefully.

That's about it so far. I'm thinking of doing a few pics here and there in the next few days, and hopefully I can update this a bit more often too. Laters!

Anyway, I'm happy to say that the colouring for MSG Man Chapter 11 had started about over a week ago, and it's shaping out nicely.

Sadly, progress has been slow, no thanks to being sick with the flu yesterday, and the arrival of two new games I've been eagerly anticipating (DJ Max Portable 2 and Gundam Seed: OMNI vs ZAFT Portable, both for PSP in case you were wondering).

Still, I'm still keeping at it, and determined to get it out..soon. Yeah. Look forward to it!

Though I would normally be reluctant to obligate myself to any schedule of any sort, this time I think doing another one now won't be too much of a stretch. Take note that some of this is still a little tentative.

MSG Man Chapter 11 - Nutritional Information
As I mentioned earlier, the upcoming chapter of which the writing has been done for. I should be able to start drawing by this Friday. Hopefully it won't take (or become) too dreadfully long. It's mostly back story time in this chapter, but I hope it won't be disappointing.

MSG Man Chapter 12 - No additives (tentative title)
Obviously, the 12th chapter. I've had the plot for this chapter for a long time, but just never could find the time nor the right moment to make use of this anywhere in the series up until now. Anyway, I feel there's no better time than the present, and I can't wait to work on this one.

MSG Man Chapter 13 - Finale (tentative title)
Pretty much what it sounds like. Everything has an end to it, and while I ought to say I am reluctant to see MSG Man end, that would be a lie. While I would definitely be a little sad, it is about time that I move onto other projects. For the past 3+ years I've been mostly drawing, writing or talking about MSG Man, and to say that I have grown somewhat weary of it would be a vast under statement. It's had a good, if somewhat rocky, run, and whatever readers it's had (all 5 of you), I....hey. I should save this kind of stuff for when I actually finish the chapter. Just wait for it. It will be dramatic at the very least !

New comic teaser chapter (tentative)
Now this, I am excited about. Not only have I been planning the new comic for a while now, but I have been considering doing a short (maybe 4-6 page) chapter as a teaser comic. Not only would it give you all a taste of what it's going to be like, but as the new comic will be many 'firsts' for me, it would also help me get more used to its feel as well.


Anyway, that's the tentative schedule for now. Here's to sticking to it!

Anyways, aside from work I have been working on the script for the next chapter of MSG man, tentatively titled MSG Man Chapter 11: Nutritional Information. This will more likely than not, be the final title too. It's coming along quite nicely, and is mainly gonna be a fair bit of background story on a particular character (or two), so it might not quite be as action packed as Chapter 10, but still be a decent addition (I hope). I really want to conclude MSG Man in the fastest way I can, but also don't want to compromise anything, and I hope the route I've chosen would be good.

Ideas for my next comic keep popping into my head at a crazy rate, and I do want to start working on it ASAP. However, rest assured I will not start it until I have finished MSG Man first. As for hints to what it is, it's going to be an indulgence for me, dabbling in several genres I like. Hence, it'll be somewhat school life ish, with mechs and yet still have drama and comedy and stuff. I'll keep you all posted.

Overall, the con itself was kinda meh though. The cosplaying standard wasn't that great, the stuff there was limited, and it was EXPENSIVE. Still, it was good to make new friends, having something to do, and I did manage to get a few small things which pleases me immensely.

MSG Man Gaiden 2 - From goon to grunt
This will now be drawn by my friend, deuel/Zinc. However I am still writing the script, which is in progress and should be done soon....ish. Yeah.

MSG Man Chapter 10 - Not possible without you
This is a tentative title to a chapter that I've been wanting to do for EONS. I mainly took this long hiatus to improve my drawing style and to an extent I guess it has paid off. Once I'm done with Gaiden 2's script, I will begin on Chapter 10's.

The Guide to MSG Man
This is also another thing I was supposed to do a LONG time ago. Basically, it was a writing collaboration with my friend, Chris. It's going to be an encyclopedia on everything MSG Man, from things like the Mazuka Corporation, to the technology of Mecha Man's suit. I was to provide the information (obviously), and some backing art, while Chris was to do the writing. Things like work for the both of us has kept this project back though, so I hope I'd be able to get this back up again.

Hopefully I can get all these done before the year's end.
