The last few months of 2008 were a struggle for me and I became quite ill. But, with the new year (and a new easel), I am feeling a lot better and ready to start working on some new paintings. I'm also having my website re-designed and have some new projects and collaborations coming up that I'm excited about.

So, I had better get started.

I'm keeping busy with my illustration class and some animations. I'm working on a couple of new oil paintings, but they're coming along very slowly. We have a break coming up soon, so I hope to be able to devote some time to those and get some work up :)

I've made a lot of art, but nothing that I feel really fits here, because I'd really like to keep this for my fantasy/mythic related art. I might put a couple of pieces in scraps, though.

I'm working on the oil paintings today. One is inspired by dreams, but that one is being frustrating so I'm putting it aside for now to work on one I started yesterday, inspired by gypsy moths. I'm using what I learned from Cabbage Faery for that one, and using the oil paints almost like watercolours in some areas... Working with the water to create various effects. It's all still very experimental, but I have more of an idea of the direction for this one.

I'm not sure how it all works, if someone has to suggest a piece, or what. But, if someone did suggest my painting, then thank you.

I started a new oil painting yesterday, inspired by my garden, in a way. The gouache experiments have been going well, and I am enjoying using it so far. I did mess up the first big painting I tried with them, though, after having spent 10 or so hours on it. It was not a waste, though, as I was able to use some of what I learnt from that, to help with the new painting.
