Many of the songs by Rednex make me laugh because I seem to be one of the few people who can understand every word they are saying and that's hillarious.....especially considering where I come from.

You all know, most likely, that I support homosexual equality, but I had been searching for something explaining in the bible that perhaps there was a double-standard presented or something. I found it. Thoughts?

David & Jonathan

There is no real need to bring out a passage showing approval of homosexuality. After all, the Bible condemns only those actions it actually condemns, and homosexuality is not one of those things.


However, even though they are not strictly necessary, there *are* several passages that show approval of gay relationships.


To mention just one, there is the love affair between David and Jonathan.


1 Samuel 18:1,3

"And it came to pass, when he [David] had made an end of speaking unto Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul . . . And Jonathan and David made a covenant, because he loved him as his own soul."


And immediately afterward, Jonathan disrobed before David:


1 Samuel 18:4


"Jonathan divested himself of the mantle he was wearing and gave it to David, along with his military dress, and his sword, his bow and his belt.


Jonathan was not only disrobing, but was turning the symbols of his manhood over to David. This draws a very clear picture of what is happening here.


1 Samuel 20:30

"Then Saul's anger was kindled against Jonathan, and he said unto him, Thou son of perverse rebellious woman, do not I know that thou hast chosen the son of Jesse [David] to thine own confusion, and unto the confusion of thy mother's nakedness?"


Reference to the nakedness of one's parents is one of the methods used in the Bible to refer to a sexual relationship. Jonathan had chosen David as his lover. And in the same conversations Saul says:


1 Samuel 20:31

Why, as long as the son of Jesse lives upon the earth you cannot make good your claim to the kingship!


This clarifies Saul's problem. One of the most important duties of being a king was producing an heir. Obviously, Jonathan had no intention of producing an heir, and therefore could not provide the final step needed to make good his claim to the kingship. He loved David and *only* David.


1 Samuel 20:41

" . . . they [David and Jonathan] kissed one another, and wept one with another . . . "


Here they are displaying a deep affection for one another, and showing an emotional attachment well beyond what would be shown by two heterosexuals in a similar situation. They actually weep together because of their upcoming forced separation.


2 Samuel 1:26

[After Jonathan's death, David said,] "I am distressed for thee, my brother Jonathan: very pleasant hast thou been unto me: thy love to me was wonderful, passing the love of women."


As you can see, they were very much in love. The Bible shows them kissing one another -- not a normal activity for heterosexual men. To make sure you don't miss the sexual aspect, the love is compared (favorably, by the way) with the love of a woman. Their souls were knit together in love, and they made a covenant because of their love. Just think about how many covenants are made because of love. The covenant of marriage sort of sticks out. The actions immediately following that declaration of love are also unmistakable. Not many covenants made because of love result in the participants disrobing in each other's presence, but one such covenant -- the covenant of marriage -- does.


The comment about the nakedness of Jonathan's mother in the discussion of his relationship with David strongly implies a sexual element to the relationship. This just reiterates what is already obvious.



To emphasize the point, Saul offers his oldest daughter Meroh to David, but David turns down the offer. He then offers his younger daughter Michel to David, who loves David, but David also turns this down. Something very interesting here is that, even though the Bible says that Michel loved David, there is no reciprical "David loved Michel" statement. Egor.....I feel so small when I talk to those people....you all speak so much faster than we do....can you help me after you finish finals and if you have free time then? Let me know when you have a day or so free to talk and perhaps help me talk to these people...I found several schools.....and I'd like information, but they always tell me they can't understand me or don't speak loudly or slowly enough for me to understand them. Another thing, are all the phone lines in russia noise reducing or something? Every time I talk to someone it's like when you are watching one of those old movies with abner talking to gladys or something on the phone and they sound very distant......it's odd. I'm so used to hearing everything so clearly that hearing it like that is a shock...

Anyway, can anyone help me find information on these schools? I am looking now at krasnoyarsk state university since they have a web site and these other schools don't seem to.

Wellington, New Zealand (oh hell yeah! Everyone knows I'd LOVE to go there! )

Krasnoyarsk, Russian (There is a very large school there...much larger than I initially thought it was...and they teach art. Now, I've always adored the russian style of art. I tried to emulate it a lot when I was younger. It would be great to actually get taught that style, plus I know people there already who it would be great to see, finally)

Moscow, Russia (Another area with a huge school. Both of these schools would depend on if they have classes that speak english because my russian isn't good enough to understand them, much...ehehe...I actually haven't studied my russian lessons in over a month The rooms are cheap and everything there is affordable, by US standards, so it would be great. I also have friends here, but I'm not sure if I should go talk to them in person )

Lacoste, France (My school's official over-seas teaching place. They'd have wonderful teachers and great subjects, but I'm just not sure if it's right for me...plus it's damn expensive)

Brazil (There are several schools there. People from Brazill that I've met so far are really cool, so I thought it would be nice to go there...don't know the language, though, so I wouldn't get along well there I don't think).

Romania (I've heard so many stories about that place and how cool it is, but I don't know what the lifestyle is like there to know about schooling or anything, a friend just suggested it).

Austrailia (That would be cool, too. The austrailians are awesome, too....the spiders there scare me, though....:eek: )

"I bought this pan some time ago and really hadn't used before yesterday. A burglar broke into my winnebago when I was sleeping late in the morning. I woke up with a start with the frying pan in question lying in my arms. I immediately pulled back the curtain separating my sleeping area from the hallway/kitchen/bathroom/drivers area and spotted the villian. I was very frightened because he was holding a shoulder-fired rocket not the small gun like I had expected. He fired at me but I blocked it with the pan and the no-stick surface made the round slip right off and into the toilet which I immediately flushed. I then threw the pan at the thief and the handle penetrated his left eye. He was felled and I kept all the Precious Moments figurines that he had come to steal. My roomie's spiderman book got stolen as well as the people next-door's xbox, xbox games, dvd player, footon, spiderman comics, and perhaps various other things. I am thankful they didn't get my software (that's all I left in my room for break, really), but goodness....such exact things....well, we know they were fellow nerds because of the spiderman stuff. 1 - A kindergarten pupil told his teacher he'd found a
cat but it was dead. "How do you know that the
cat was dead?", she asked her pupil. " Because I
pissed in its ear and it didn't move," answered the
child innocently. "You did WHAT?!?" the teacher
exclaimed in surprise. "You know," explained the
boy, "I leaned over and went 'Pssst!' and it didn't
move."

2 - A small boy is sent to bed by his father. Five
minutes later....."Da-ad...." "What?" "I'm thirsty.
Can you bring drink of water?" "No, You had your
chance. Lights out." Five minutes later:

3 - An exasperated mother, whose son was always
getting into mischief, finally asked him "How do

4 - One summer evening during a violent
thunderstorm a mother was tucking her son into

she said. "I have to sleep in Daddy's room." A

5 - It was that time, during the Sunday morning
service, for the children's sermon. All the children
were invited to come forward. One little girl was
wearing a particularly pretty dress and, as she sat
down, the pastor leaned over and said, " That is a
very pretty dress. Is it your Easter Dress?" The
little girl replied, directly into the pastor's clip-on
microphone, "Yes, and my Mom says it's a bitch to

6 - When I was six months pregnant with my third
child, my three year old came into the room when
I was just getting ready to get into the shower.
She said, "Mommy, you are getting fat!" I
replied, "Yes, honey, remember Mommy has a

7 - A little boy was doing his math homework. He said
to himself, "Two plus five, that son of a bitch is

nine...." His mother heard what he was saying

answered, "I'm doing my math homework, Mom."
"And this is how your teacher taught you to do it?"
the mother asked. "Yes," he answered.

The teacher replied, "Right now, we are learning
addition." The mother asked, "And are you
teaching them to say two plus two, that son of a
bitch is four?" After the teacher stopped laughing,
she answered, "What I taught them was, two plus
two, THE SUM OF WHICH, is four."

8 - One day the first grade teacher was reading the
story of Chicken Little to her class. She came to
the part of the story where Chicken Little tried to
warn the farmer. She read, ".... and so Chicken
Little went up to the farmer and said, " The sky is
falling, the sky is falling!" The teacher paused
then asked the class, "And what do you think that
farmer said?" One little girl raised her hand and
said, "I think he said: 'Holy Shit! A talking
chicken!'" The teacher was unable to teach for
the next 10 minutes.

9 - A certain little girl, when asked her name, would
reply, "I'm Mr. Sugarbrown's daughter." Her
mother told her this was wrong, she must
say, "I'm Jane Sugarbrown." The Vicar spoke to
her in Sunday School, and said, " Aren't you
Mr. Sugarbrown's daughter?" She replied, " I
thought I was, but mother says I'm not."

10- A little girl asked her mother, "Can I go outside
and play with the boys?" Her mother replied, "No,
you can't play with the boys, they're too rough."
