So you all know, it's been kinda difficult for moi to do much on this account, but for reasons unknown. To make life a heck of a lot easier, I've created a new account. Okay, so yes, I AM working on Chapter 3, I swear. It's just being tricky. But I do have a tasty tidbit for those who have been waiting so nicely and patiently. ^w^

SPOILERIFIC INFORMATION ABOUT CHAPTER 3:

1. This is primarily one of Liyal's chapters, so we'll see a lot of him.

2. A couple of new characters will be introduced.

3. The chapter title is going to be "Reflections".

Just to whet your appetites and stuff...keep you waiting, and making sure you all don't leave me!

So I need to get back into the regularity with posting journals and such. I already knew that, and yet I still procrastinate. What a great dA person I am. -__-

Anyway...

Things have been going pretty good. Right now, I'm reworking Chapters 3 and 4 of Idyll's End, because the pacing really needs to be reexamined. I might just redo them completely seeing as how the first few chapters move awfully fast, and I think I need to wait a bit before things start to happen.

Also, a bit of warning. "Idyll's End" is not a very nice story. I mean, there's romance and love and friendship and humor (got a nice bit of that in Chapter 1), but there's also a fair bit of death and ugliness and violence in there as well. Anyone who was expecting a cute and fluffy story doesn't really know that I've grown as a writer past doing stuff like that. Fluff in large quantities doesn't really interest me anymore. An actual plot does. (Drabbles do NOT count, Art. XD)

I'd also like to unveil something that's been official in my head for the past week or two (I honestly can't remember XD ). When this IE concept is finished (whether it be one book or two) I'm going to release the "Imperial Records", which are a set of appendices full of stuff that happened during the story or after, or customs and traditions of Draza, whatever was important in my mind to the overall story but couldn't be put in there. Things like naming children, weddings, funerals, the life of Lia's mother, the political career of Liyal, the lives of the three Empresses after Lia, what happened to Lia and Ike, all of that will be in the Records. This will be released after the story, though, because if I did it before, there would be some major spoilerific information in there.

I've also contemplated splitting IE into two. It's growing in length by the day, and I can't keep up. I'll keep everyone posted on that. To that end, I'd also like to say that if I feel like it, I'll write a series of short stories/a small book or prequel of stuff that happened before IE. It's a small possibility, definitely not set in stone yet. We'll see what happens.

Yaaaaaaay....more writing. I'm trying, I really am. ^^ Thank you everyone for being so patient.

1. Which of the games of the series have you played?

I've played 7, 9, and I WANT to play 10 so badly you have no idea. Yes, I finally got around to playing Path of Radiance! 'Bout freaking time, too. If you write a fanfiction on a video game, at least know something about it, and the best way for me to do that is to play the darn thing. Just exactly how I got to play PoR is a mystery...and an epic tale. I'll tell you all later. XD

Which is you favorite and why?

Radiant Dawn FTW, yo! Ike, Soren, Shinon, Boyd, and all them at their AWESOMEST. The graphics got spiffed up, and the game play is AMAZING. I have the premium edition of the game guide, too, and the art in there is veeeeeeeeeery nice to look at. :3

2. Out of that one, who's your favorite character?

This is hard...because I love Shinon for his wiseass behavior, Soren for being dry as a stick and rude as all get out, and Ike for being...Ike, but I think I'll take Ike, because he was the one that roped me into all this. XD

3. Do you have a favorite character from a different game that isn't your favorite?

Marth, Roy, and Eliwood. I luvs them. And Hector, who bears a startling resemblance to Ike.

4. What is your favorite pairing? Why?

I loves me some Leasala (Leanne/Naesala, who I've affectionately dubbed Nae-Nae ). This pairing IS canon in RD if you get the two of them to a A support thing. And when you do that, Naesala marries Leanne, and they have a little boy raven (man, another Naesala. Tibarn's gonna be maaaaaaad. XD) and a little girl heron. What I don't get is that Reyson and Rafiel (particularly Reyson, who idolizes Tibarn who hates Naesala) didn't protest. Or if they did, they did it quietly.

5. Any favorite crack pairings?

Oh yes. XD Art and I know about these. Soryana and Ranethe. Soren/Ilyana is more crack-based, but I love it anyway. Ranulf/Lethe is one I wish happened. It would have been adorable. Can't you just see the little kittens running around? *squees*

Yes, I had to skip the ones that required drawing. I know this.

Many things were discovered during the past few days, some of which you all might be aware of.

First, this sudden spike in my posting of crap. This is largely due to a few things: a new discovery in my new style of chibi art, in which I went completely insane and drew a whole bunch of junk; the fact that Ike for some reason doesn't qualify as a man when I say "I can't draw guys" XD; and sheer dumb luck.

Second, being the two newest deviations, the WIP and "For This Moment". In general, I'm really sorry 'bout the crappy quality of those drawings, but I can't quite help it, because I don't have access to a functional scanner. That being said, I'm really pleased with how FTM turned out, because prior to that, I couldn't draw kisses to save my life (shut up, Tetra XD). That picture was indeed mostly luck and a heck of a lot of screw ups. But it turned out really well, as did the WIP. But it be a WIP for a reason. That one's nowhere near done, but I posted it so as you guys read IE, you have a visual reference for Lia as I see her. :3

Speaking of IE, I have a new brain, or rather the other half of my brain. This be her: . Ike literally lives in her brain, which could possibly be caused by my loving torment of that poor man. Art also is the one responsible for making IE the story that it is today, so give her a round of applause. ^^

Other than that, I'm going to be really really busy these next couple of weeks. What with those 6 commissions I have to do (that'll be interesting...XD), doing color for various linearts, writing IE, AND chasing plot bunnies on top of that, well, there will be no rest, to say the least. We'll see if I can survive.

Well, it just got bumpier.

Chapters 1 and 2 will have to be rewritten again, due to characters, plot changes, and general reorganizing.

So I have that to do, and I've been writing a couple of future scenes. For the most part, I've got the plot figured out, but it's subject to change.

Okay, it's been a craaaaazy couple of days, but! I do have news!

"Idyll's End" just did a complete 180 on me. New main ship, new characters, new story line.

1. Marth, Roy, Elice, Link, and Zelda play a waaaaaay smaller role now.
2. The main cast is as follows, for non-OC characters:

Titania
Soren
Rhys
Oscar
Boyd

In case you haven't noticed, this story has shifted to a more Path of Radiance/Radiant Dawn approach. No killing me for it. I think this is going to be a lot more fun and way more intriguing.

I am still working on it, but it doesn't look like Chapter 3 will be done today. T__T I know, it's bad news, but believe me, there's some pretty hefty stuff in here. I am just having some difficulties with two of the scenes in particular.

Also, I thought it only fair to warn you: "Idyll's End", especially with the commencement of Chapter 3, will not be as nice as it has been for the first two chapters. It's going to be bloody. So if reading that kind of stuff makes you queasy and whatever, just send me a note. You won't offend me.

And in response to some of the people who've been sending me notes. Some of you have put two and two together, but unfortunately, you seem to be coming up with five. This is mostly in regard to my newest cast member. For the most part, you all have been supportive, but for those who have not, I will say this only once: I am not going to be withdrawing this character out of the story. They are crucial to the plot (not only that, but they COMPLETELY changed it and threw a couple curve balls in there) and to the story in general.

So, yesh. I finally did it. I mastered my fear of digital coloring and did something! Roylie was the first sketch I said, "Hey, I think I can do that!"

One full day of coloring later...he's finally done. XD So there.

I think I'm really going to get Photoplus 6.0 after my Photoshop trial period is over. Or not. Maybe I'll get it sooner. We'll see.

I just finished the first scene of Chapter 16, and believe me when I say, now that I reread it like this, I catch more than I did the first time around. It's crazy!

An amazing chapter by and , and it's not even done yet!

It is AMAZING.

Anyway, now that I have that out of my system, onward to other news!

Indeed, there are two versions of "Idyll's End" and "Everlasting", one here and one on fanfiction.net. Where you choose to review is your decision, but I personally prefer on here, that way I can talk to you.

The old version of IE sucks, really badly. The whole thing needed to be rewritten because it was making me gag. I swear I will get around to updating "Everlasting" sometime. I just hate HTML coding with a passion.

Onto IE tidbits and news for the future...

Yes, there will be a death. But just who, I wonder? There will be many almost-deaths. But I think everyone gets a happy ending. It's just how we get there that will determine how joyous the end victory will be. Besides, the title was made "Idyll's End" for a reason: the majority of the story is not very nice. I have also revised the next few chapters, and have planted a lot of surprises, not to mention a new and improved way to meet our Roy for the first time.

Next, Ever. tidbits...

Unfortunately, this story is not one that can go on for 30+ chapters. With this in mind, I have to speed it up and cut out a lot of now-unnecessary and boring stuff. The main question was: how many people would be ticked off if I sped up the 'getting them together' part? The story is wanting to be written a certain way, so I'm sticking with that, and hopefully I won't get a horde of angry fans after my head.

Anyway, here's to insomnia! Oh, and this little idea...

"Idyll's End" is coming along nicely, and so is "Everlasting". I'm wondering if I should post my "Desert Rose" YGO oneshot, and I'm still debating.

Movies to watch out for:

Twilight. Duhr. But can someone remind me when it comes out? I wanna see it!

Prince Caspian. Double duhr. I mean, come on, that looks WAY better than The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Like, loads better. And no "It's a ripoff LOTR" commentary. Frankly, everything could be considered a rip off LOTR. That's how good it is. Everyone will compare every action/fantasy film to LOTR.

However, they're only the most important ones. Luckily, no flamers. Yet.

No, I don't know when Chapter One of TCE will be rereleased. I don't have that information. The authors do. I'm flattered that you think I'm allowed more inside information than the average reader, but really, stop bothering me about it. My patience with that is wearing thin.

That being said and in the same vein, I don't know when my analysis of that chapter will be out. Depends. I have real life crap to take care of (like my job, rent, getting a phone, and such). I got a lot busier in the span of five days or something like that.

No, my interpretation of Marth is not the same in "Welcome to the Academy" as it is in "Idyll's End". The basics are the same, but they're in two different settings: we have Marth as we know him in Fire Emblem (this is IE Marth), and our WttA Marth is in a high school setting. Naturally, the two would be different, but I try to stay true to the essence of his character.

Also to follow that, please stop criticizing me about the WIP I have up that is "WttA: Marth and Lia style". I did not intend for that to be a feeding ground for those who think Marth is perfect 24/7. Come on, sometimes the biggest 'oh crap' moments (like unexpected teenage pregnancy) happen to the best people. I appreciate constructive criticism, and I appreciate those who I have talked to and have given it to me, but I don't like the majority of the messages I've been getting. Quite a few of them could be called flames. I don't like flamers. They bother me. >_<

If you are going to contact me via AIM just to bother me and whatever, DON'T message me at all. I will block you. If you want to talk to me, either be nice or fake being polite. It's not that hard. Take a class on manners and figure it out.

To those who have been so supportive of me lately, I'm so sorry you had to sit through this negative journal. I really hate being mean, but sometimes...just, grrrrr.

I get back from four hours of sleep, and my inbox has a whole bunch of notes, asking me questions about these two things.

First off, I DO NOT own TCE or AtA. If you want to see the owners, I suggest you look at the bottom.

And here we go!

Q and A: TCE Analysis

Q: How do you analyze TCE/AtA?

A: Quite honestly, it depends on the chapter. Some of the ones in AtA are so extensive and just downright long that I have to really condense, unless something really big just happened. Usually I'll analyze as I read. I pull up a new Word document and just start typing away. I like to pull quotes, both to prove my point and to help the reader keep up.

Q: Have you ever talked to Lauren /Chrissy about the analyses?

A: I've talked to Lauren a lot, and not just about the analyses, either! She's an awesome buddy of mine, and we have long conversations that I absolutely adore! Chrissy is (as you all should know) a very busy person, so she doesn't have that much time to talk to me, but she does know about these essays that I've been doing. Really, it was Lauren who said, "Just go for it!"

Q: Are you able to get the inside scoop on TCE/AtA?

A: I WISH I was that lucky! No, they are very good at keeping their secrets, but I don't push. Usually, I just throw out my theories while I'm talking to Lauren, and she will neither confirm nor deny them, and she is right to do so! It not only makes the story more enjoyable with all the twists, turns, and surprises, but it also makes the conclusions I draw as an analyst honest and direct: I know about as much as the rest of you.

Q: How long does it take to analyze a chapter?

A: Again, it will depend on the chapter. Some of the chapters in AtA took forever just to look through, and many many revisions. Quite a few of them still need work. I have a story of my own to keep up, I have school (but not for long), a job, and a social life (not much of one, but I try). I'm busy myself, but especially as the TCE revamp comes out, I'll try to have the analysis of each chapter out three to five days after the release. Shows how insane I am, eh?

Q: Will you be doing character analyses?

A: I highly doubt it. One, I'll be busy enough with the story analysis. Two, nothing I do compares to the essays has done, and much of my discussion on the characters (this directly pertains especially to Marth and Zelda) is actually derived from her take on them. Yes, I will still include my views on them, but I don't think I'll be doing separate essays.




Q and A: Idyll's End

Q: What was your inspiration for the title?

A: Actually, it's a song title from "The Last Samurai" soundtrack. The song is absolutely gorgeous, and it sounds so sad. I thought it was perfect.

Q: Who would you say is the main couple?

A: Oh jeez. At this point in the story, no couple reigns supreme. I'm still working out the kinks in the Zelink relationship, so we won't be seeing too much ZL action for a bit. Elroy is the first established pair. Why? Simply because Roy can't wait. He lives in the moment. The last pair that actually comes together is Lia/Marth. That just takes FOREVER. It was so exasperating to write. But in that story, no pair will overshadow the others.

Q: Why did you put Marth with an OC?

A: Can you see anyone else that he would work with? Our Marfy-chan is a tough nut to crack, in case you hadn't noticed. Quite the mysterious lad, that one.

Q: Why did you put Elice with Roy?

It's not that the plot is different. The basic plot is the same. I'm just going about it differently.

I'm going to be the first to say this: chapters 1 and 2 of the old version were so bad, I needed to change it. My God, it was that bad. Rereading it was painful.

But quite honestly, I'm really pleased with the new and improved version. It's longer, for one thing, and with a much better beginning. I'm waiting to put it on ff.net, though. I'm testing it out here.

For those of you who sent me notes (or will in the future) about doing fanart for IE: I'd be delighted! Just put the credit down in the artist's comments, and we're good to go.

Immense credit goes to CallistoHime and WishIWould. I don't steal any of their ideas, but it's not my fault that the finer details of Marth are really due to them. Actually, there are a few similarities between our Marths. Not too many, though. My Marth is a little colder than theirs.

I'm so grateful to everyone who even bothered to read those analysis things.

UPDATE

I will be analyzing the TCE revamp, which means the analysis for chapters 1 and 2 will be rereleased. I'm looking forward to reading the new and improved version, and I'm really looking forward to picking it apart.

I have also embarked on analyzing AtA. However, this will not be released just yet. I'm thinking I'll just release them after the TCE revamp has been fully released (all 30+ chapters of it ), but that's an awfully long wait. It's up to you guys, so let me know what you think.

That's another thing I can't figure out. If anyone could let me know how the heck you do bloody polls on dA, that would be awesome. Same with icons and stamps and such. That would be great! Thanks so much!

I have now figured out how to do the icon things. And I now know that I have to be a subscriber to have polls. How lame. Oh well.

2. How do you put people's icons in your comments or in journals? This is one of the frustrations. I've been trying to figure this out forever, and I still don't get it. Any answers (no smart-ass ones, and you know who you are ) would be welcome.

Okay, so I've just been introduced to the wonders of Macromedia Flash, and I have to say, it suits me better than a certain Photoshop or ImageReady.

And I was looking at some art of our beautiful three swordsmen, and it came to me.

I was also rereading some of my notes on TCE for my analysis things, and I came across the notes I'd taken regarding the scene where Roy gives Elice flowers. Then it really came to me.

"Roy, are you sure about that?" Is one of my favorite things yet. It was based off of Chapter Twenty: A Gift of Flowers. I'm clearly way too bored.

"Link's Taken" was a request from a very good friend of mine. She'd seen Roy, and I had just finished Marth, and I knew I'd have to do one of Link. She made the suggestion of doing a Link/Midna work, and I agreed. I'm such a pushover.

"Marth's Our Boy?" might very well be my favorite of the three, since it still cracks me up for some inane reason. Don't ask me why, it just does.

ON MARTH

Give the guy a break, will ya? TCE is in the past. Do we hold everything Link did against him, and he's the one who blantently ignored Zelda's suffering (his reasons for doing so, perfectly understandable, but only to a point)? So why do we hold Marth's mistakes against him, when he has tried everything in his power as a human being to atone for what he did? It's not fair, even in an unfair world. It's holding him down and kicking him into the mud. I will defend him, because I believe his sincerity.

ON ZELDA

Give the girl a break, too. Sheesh, one ounce of character development, and every purist in the entire website decides to jump on the "We don't like this side of Zelda" platform. Quite honestly, I'm pleased with this new turn of events. Granted, I did not see it coming. But, it gives a whole new twist for future chapters, and it makes us look back through all those chapters, because Zelda did love him, but we thought she got over it and went back to Link.

Apparently, she never stopped. And this throws the monkey wrench in the works, but it shows that even Zelda is human. Do not put her on a pedestal. That's exactly what she's been trying to get away from. If you set her up to the standards of a perfect godlike being, it will only set her up for a bigger fall. Yes, sometimes a fall from grace is good for a character, but not in this case. It would destroy her.


So that's my rant.

I'm going to take this moment to thank two artists in particular, who have made me laugh when I needed to, and proved to be somewhat of a part of my subconscious, as a writer and artist.

Hail-Nekoyasha: This is one artist that never fails to make me laugh. I remember having a really bad day, and I found her comic titled "To Dodge a Doppleganger". I busted up laughing so hard, I was crying.

CallistoHime: Now, Chrissy, you are my idol. How you manage to do comics and art while keeping up "Among the Ashes" and planning to revamp "Time Cannot Erase", I have absolutely no idea. Also, your Roy, Elice, Link, Zelda, and Marth pictures have totally ingrained themselves into my head. I can't picture them as anyone else. (They're on my closet door. ) So hats off to you.

Kakashi tries to get Iruka to go to a strip club. I can actually see that happening.

Dei-Dei's on the move too much. Let's go with Ren.

4. 1 and 7 are making out, and 10 walks in…their reaction?

Ren and Sasori? First of all, that's really freaky. He wants her to be his puppet. That's just weird. Tsunade would probably be really grossed out.

5. 3 falls in love with 6. 8 is jealous. What happens?
Itachi falls in love with Dei-Dei, and Orochimaru is jealous.

In other words, "DEATH", "SADISM", and "ABUSE" is written all over that situation.

6. 4 jumps you in a dark alleyway. Who comes to your rescue? 10, 2, or 7?

Saraiya jumps me. The most likely to come to my rescue? Tsunade. She's also the most likely to be able to beat Saraiya.

7. 1 decides to start up a cooking show.15 minutes later, what's happening?

Ren's actually a good cook. Regardless of who she cooks for.

8. 5 is in a car crash and is critically injured. What does 9 do?

Iruka is in a car crash. What oh what will Kakashi do?

Take him to a hospital, and wait in the waiting room reading Icha-Icha Paradise.

9. 3 has to marry either 8, 4, or 9. Who do they choose?

Itachi has to marry either Orochimaru, Saraiya, or Kakashi.

Now, Itachi is straight. Now that we've got that covered, Saraiya's the only other option. Itachi tortured the crap out of Kakashi, and I can't imagine that he and Orochimaru get along very well. Itachi and Saraiya were on the same team, but Itachi always harbored a soft spot (however small) in his heart for Ren.

10. 7 kidnaps 2 and demands something from 5 for 2's release. What is it?

Hm. Sasori kidnaps Kabuto and demands something from Iruka.

...

The only immediate thing Sasori wants is Ren, so he can turn her into a living puppet.

You know? Meeting our lovely Dei-Dei would actually be fun.

Tsunade challenges Saraiya to a chariot race? Hey, they're both taijutsu users, why not just have a race?

Probably a story about a girl who had to choose between a psycho sociopath and a sadistic, manical genius who enjoys playing mind games. It would be a lesson to everyone.

Ren is late? No shocker. Grandma Tsunade (or 'old bat', as Ren usually calls her) stole her lover. Ren would plot a fiery death.

Sasori and Kakashi? Kakashi would be a harmless drunk. But I didn't know puppets could get drunk. Huh. Wonders never cease.

Nevertheless, I'd kick them both out.

Kabuto: What?! I get captured?!

Ren: You get me pregnant TWICE?! And possessed?!

Bella, Ren and Kabuto are doing the Hokey-Pokey. They are most likely drunk. Marth walks in. He suggests a game of Scrabble.

10. Giving gifts at Abi's little partay. So much fun!

9. Playing a game of tackle football with the guys. It's funny how it turned into a game of smear the queer.

8. Getting my queen-sized bed. I don't wanna sleep in anything else now. But it takes up most of the space in my room. >< Aw well.

7. Finishing off three of the most difficult chapters in my writing career (two were fanfictions): how to make a marriage proposal sound good without being cliche, having a character come home to find out he's a father all of a sudden without making it too cheesy, and getting my main character to say yes to a mission without sounding too enthusiastic (which she isn't). Not easy, folks.

6. Finally being able to read some of R.A. Salvatore's work. Yay!

5. Getting to see my football team finally get a victory! Sheesh. Took 'em two weeks. ><

4. Having that classic family reunion on Christmas Day. The only change is, my uncle figures that me and my brother are old enough to handle the more adult conversations. About time. Clearly he doesn't know about some of the LVA conversations we've had. XD

3. My dad's birthday. I love my dad more than really anything, and he's always been there for me. So I love being able to get him presents, a cake, and helping cook dinner. He's 41, and I'm going to be 19 in April. My parents are younger than all of my friends' parents.

2. Playing a bunch of board games with my family. We played Risk (which was indeed risky. It almost ended in a fistfight), Monopoly (surely if my mother hadn't been there, there would have been maiming involved), Clue (this was so funny. I was Miss Scarlett), and Uno (God, that was ugly). Then we started on the video games...DDR combined with having played SSBM, MarioKart, and Soul Caliber II before hand...let's just say it was interesting.

Now, I honestly think that from what is shown in the trailer, "Prince Caspian" could very well be better than "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe", which may sound like blasphemy, for all the Narnia fans out there. Please don't kill me for that. >_<

I really hope that if they continue to the very end, they should have (along with the two that they've already made, since "Prince Caspian" is considered in the post-production stage) "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" and "The Silver Chair", if they have to have anything. "The Last Battle" is necessary, I suppose, simply because it has the end of the series, but I really found it to be such an anti-climactic book. And seriously. "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe", "Prince Caspian", "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader", and "The Silver Chair" are the best ones of the Narnia series.

Yes, that's right! A multi (and I mean, MULTI) cross over that shoves all of the characters from our various fanfics into a boarding school setting. The cast? I'll give them to you, each with a brief discription. ^^ An * means that that character is an OC of mine.

Senior Class

Leo Hamato(TMNT): an English major and president of the creative writing club.

2. Trinity Blood: Believe me, I like Hellsing just as much as the best of them, and I worship the ground Integra walks on, but for those of us that like to see a bit less gore, a bit more character development, and still get the vampire fix we've been craving, Trinity Blood is satisfying. Besides, if Integra is cool, Caterina kicks total butt.

3. Ouran High School Host Club: Totally stupid at times and complete randomness to the core, it's still addicting. I'm all for the prince type, Tamaki and Kyouya are my heroes.

4. FullMetal Alchemist: A full serving of good characters, great story, excellent conflict development, and plenty of action and explosions to satisfy an anime geek's stomach. With some cute/stupid episodes thrown in, just for the hell of it.

5. Spriggan: Granted, it's a movie, but it's still good. I'm frankly surprised that no one's heard of it. It's a twisted version of Noah's Ark, and has some pretty freaky parts to it. Not for kids, but I still recommend it.

I'm a huge fan of Naruto (more specifically, I'm a Kabuto fangirl who also adores Iruka), and yes, there are those classic 'kid-show' themes of friendship and never giving up, but then again, so did Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, and that movie is not for kids. They'd all get nightmares about Vincent (he is rather vampire-ish) and Sephiroth (heck, if I were a kid, I'd be scared crapless). And Naruto has some darker undertones. It's not every day the nice glasses-wearing ninja who's polite and charming turns into a back-stabbing, sadistic son of biscuit eater. XD

There are only three real battles in the tale of Beowulf that are of real consequence:

1. The fight with Grendel. This they did correctly, and I was pleased with it.

2. The fight with Grendel's mother. This they scrapped completely. In the real story, Beowulf never slept with Grendel's mother. Instead, he tracked her down to what was described as a 'foul lake', caught her at the very bottom, and fought her. He eventually killed her, and brought back her head, along with the head of Grendel, who died from the wounds he received during his fight with Beowulf.

3. The battle with the dragon. They got the part that Beowulf is old by this point. What was totally wrong was that in the movie, the dragon was Beowulf's son. WRONG! It was just a dragon, and was in no way related to Beowulf.

And for those who do not know the story, Grendel was not the son of the king before Beowulf.

I was so disappointed simply because I deeply respect the tale of Beowulf--it's the oldest piece of English literature left! It was also the inspiration for many authors, including J.R.R. Tolkien as he was writing "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Rings".

And come on. You can't mess up that horribly on the plot of a story and expect me to still like it simply just because it's in 3-D? Sheesh.
