I am only 3/4 of the way through my novel. So it might take me another month to finish it. Still, this feeling is awesome. I managed to finish despite fencing tournaments and research papers. Gah... research papers... Anyway, I will finish this story. My characters can not be abandoned now.
Hallo, hallo, this new skin is awesome, but that is not why I'm here. I've come to tell you the drastic measures I put myself to to recover some 1843 words and hour and a half that I lost this morning. I was using Write or Die [link] this morning, and it was pushing me to write fast because every five seconds it would start playing horrible off tune violin music if I wasn't typing. Then people started bugging me to go wash the dishes. I can't do that while I'm writing. But they forced me off and in the process, I accidentally closed the webpage that had my lovely sacred words. I cry just thinking about it now. So the five minute break to wash the dishes always drags out to thirty minutes, but I digress. Apparently Chrome doesn't have anyway to recover lost text. So I hypnotized myself and suggested that I should probably remember what I wrote so I could write it again. After about ten minutes of not screaming and hurriedly scouring the internet I was calm again and all of a sudden I remembered what some of the dialogue was about. So now I made up most of the words I think it is slightly better than the original.

So yeah, in case you were wondering, I am at 23,102 words. I should be around thirty thousand but I have been traveling everywhere and haven't had the time. Anyway, the title of my NaNoWriMo is The Mechanist. Here is an excerpt because you know you want to read it.

He could remember little snippets of the language as he slept. It drifted into his dreams as they spoke around him. Someone jostled him and he snapped awake. It was as dark as before and only a few of the cloth wrapped people stood around him. Water again was put to his lips and he drank greedily. A hand grabbed his arm and pulled him to his feet. Thomas’ knees wobbled and he sank back to the ground.

“Stand.”

The word spoken was a command and in English. Thomas was a little confused by this. He pushed himself back to his feet and held onto the wall to keep balance. Everything hurt. His legs felt like they were made of water.

“Who are— what are you?” he asked croakily.

“That’s very rude. We are merely helpers.” The voice replied.

The man stepped in front of him. His face was completely covered as before. He leaned down to get a good look at Thomas’ face.

“What’s your name and how did you get into the middle of the winter deserts?”

Thomas drew away from the looming green eyes. He didn’t answer but began asking questions instead.

“Why are you here? And how do you know English? Everyone else is speaking something else.”

The man leaned back into the shadows. His face was obscured by darkness, but his green eyes glowed ever brighter in the gloom. He didn’t answer for a while. The man swallowed.

“You should not be afraid of our form. We are the same. I just may be…” he lifted his long fingers and wiggled them, “a little different physically from you. Everybody, including you, knows us as cannibalistic, mutated nomads. That’s not true. We only enjoy human flesh every other Friday.”

------------------------
Journal CSS made by =caybeach
Texture by `Princess-of-Shadows
Vintage Music brushes by ~Scully7491

With November coming up, I would like to ask:
Who all is doing the NaNoWriMo?

I am determined to actually pass 50000 words this year. I figure that 2000 words a day will be more than enough to accomplish this feat. My story will be steampunk on another world. The deviations I'm posting (Industrial Parks, Flying Islands, and Flora Jacoby to name a few) are all related to the story. I still need to come up with a few details in the plot but it's pretty much fleshed out. With that said, be my writing buddy on NaNoWriMo! Last year my friends list was woefully empty. I hope everyone who reads this considers writing something this November.

Takk og Bless,
Jaroslav

NaNoWriMo: [link]
My profile: [link]

An excerpt perhaps.

He squeezed the trigger thoughtlessly. A flash of sparks bounced into his eyes and mouth reminding him of the great ill he had just done, but that did not matter. Through the smoke he could see the spiraling bullet traveling on. It entered the glass and sent a thousand mistakes, lies, and truths showering out behind the frame. All the things he refused to see, pressing their condemnation upon him and showing him what he really looked like, were destroyed in an instant. He blinked. Time seemed to slow, and it felt as if an eternity had gone by before his eyelids fluttered open again. There was nothing left. All things had ceased to be. He tried to speak but could not. A darkness, so solid it could be felt, pressed down upon his eyes, and a mighty gust swept away the rest of his matter.

--
You can read my finished story here: [link]

It's called The Darkest Death. Anyway, while I've been deflecting some niðurlægjandi rumors from reaching any of my "allies", ie Kollsvein, I've figured out a new way to use Corel Painter and Photoshop! So my stuff looks really cool. Well, to me anyway because that's the only person I'm trying to please with my artwork right now. I drew a picture of my sister whom I have never met, is supposed to be my twin and looks nothing like me on one my calculations for probable escape from the Police on my next job. She's escaping from the math and reflects my current mood on the Government right now. I might put it up after I have scanned then sketched it again in Corel. You must listen to something though. It's an album from Falling Up called Fangs! and it's awesome. It's one of those concept albums with the story from a screenplay the lead singer wrote being the content from the lyrics. I just can't stop listening to it. You must also listen to Then End is Not the End by House of Heroes. That is awesome too.

Takk og Bless,

Jaroslav

"Spoken like one who has never known the ecstacy of holding a still-beating heart in her hand." - Mr. Darcy, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, I love this book!

I've learned something very important today. Something that, if everybody knew about it, would quite possibly change things for the better. I never would have considered it as a profession because, well, I never did have any choice in the matter being a Tax Collector and all. I just started reading books on how the economy works. As a Tax Collector, you should think that I knew something about money. Only now do I know that if I did, I could have led the Deciders to choose me as an economist(or whatever they call them here). And maybe if that had happened, then I would be able to really teach people what I know even though it is strictly forbidden. The Premiers are lying to us about how much they spend and how much money is printed; which is debasing our currency. You wouldn't believe how much I take out of your bank account every tax season. If you can, try comparing government issued spending graphs to privately issued graphs. I think you would be surprised. So now, I urgently advise you to find any non-Lauder published books on the economy. That's the only way to find the knowledge you need to actually make a difference. If, possibly, you do not live in UtopiaDystopia, then learn about the economy and keep your government from inflating and becoming the concerned parent that always knows best. Your rights and voice are precious things. Do not let them get taken away.

Faithfully,
Jaroslav
