Now this event would be perfectly fine if it wasn't for one word: "pervy."

As you all know, or will know by the end of this entry, I have high moral standards. When first making the plunge into the art world, I made a firm decision that I would be different from the rest. No revealing clothing. No fanservice girls sporting bikinis. No sex. Hell, no relationships. Sam and Cad may be womanizers, but look what happens to them--Cad can never get a girlfriend and Sam's last date shot him (just missing his heart). I planned from the start to keep all my stories clean and I intend to keep it this way. I'll be damned if I have to throw aside my code of ethics just for some stupid comic entry for a contest.

I ask--no, I demand that the prompt be altered. All I'm asking is for the removal of the word "pervy." It is not that hard just to remove a single word. Just highlight the damned thing and press the backspace key. It's not like I'm asking to change the whole event or eliminate it completely.

I will not stoop to such a level that violates my morals just because three judges want to see space girls in bikinis or whatever voluptuous images they expect to see.

It was swell.

Conflict... Bogart was awesome in that movie, even if he did play a murderous husband. I think the photograph I have of him is from this movie...looks like he was wearing the same coat. Sydney Greenstreet was there, too! Impeccable as ever. (Random fact: He and I have the same birthday.)

The Suspect... It had the same basic storyline as Conflict--the theme that night being "murderous husbands" and all--but this one was set in 1902 England. According to Eddie Muller, it's not the setting that makes Noir, but the characters. This movie definitely was Noir. Charles Laughton has the greatest expressions.

The theater even had an authentic organ! There was someone playing at the opening and during intermission.

Gosh, I wish I could have gone to see more movies, but it's kinda hard if you're at college two hours away from the city. I'm still happy that I at least got to go for one day. Of course, I couldn't have found out about Noir City when I was still living in the city... *sigh* It always turns out that way, doesn't it?

Warning: pointless, sometimes incoherent rambling ahead.

Well... The deadline for the official BRR auditions is coming up, but I don't even know if I want to enter or not. I got a taste of what the tournament will be like because of the (test) Preliminary. Sometimes it was heaven, sometimes it was hell. It really was time consuming, though...

Should I even bother? The art quality kinda went down even in those three rounds for the prelim. Style change? Laziness? Could be a bit of both. If I enter, it'll be deadlines, deadlines, deadlines, as if I didn't have enough from school. Yes, I managed to meet them so far, but will there be a breaking point? I've already gotten behind in my reading (though that's nothing new).

I guess the biggest issue here is time, thanks to my habit of procrastinating which results in drawing binges lasting several days in succession. And hand cramps. With my luck, the deadlines will probably coincide with all my midterms/finals.

Time...and doubt that I'll even get very far in the tournament. Not with just the pencil sketches... and I don't want to do color.

On the one hand I want to improve (though I doubt I'll get any better), yet on the other hand it just feels like an obligation to Byako and And if I don't enter, I'll regret missing out on the whole thing...

Aaaaah... Why can't I decide?

First and foremost, 's tournament deadline is on Sunday the 28th. That's four days. I've only finished the first couple pages but that's nowhere near the number I had planned. Haven't even finished the layout for the last two parts yet. Doesn't help that Mack and Sam are so... "talky." I'm not saying that dialogue is a bad thing, but it is when you're trying to do panel layouts. Crap.

Second, I haven't finished my translation for Japanese class tomorrow. Our teacher has a fit if we don't finish our preparations for class. It's not that we turn the stuff in, but he complains that it wastes class time. I guess I could always BS if the time ever calls for it. As long as I know the kanji I'm fine... I think. Crap, the midterm's coming up, too. Translation and vocab galore. I haven't started studying yet. Double crap.

Third, oral presentation coming up. The subject -- The Hard-Boiled Detective Novel. Easy, right? Not if you absolutely abhor the thought of public speaking. I read the article, but haven't outlined the main points yet. Crap. Well, at least I'll know my topic, though I'll be more biased towards Dashiell Hammett, the Continental Op, and Sam Spade. I HAVE read Ross Macdonald's Lew Archer stories. I just need to read The Big Sleep and I'll be set.

Subheading under number three -- essay coming up. Need to finalize paper topic.

Secondary subheading under number three -- midterm on Monday. Crap.

Fourth, other school stuff. Need to get my multiple major form signed and approved. I'm just afraid that they'll reject my form since there are so many classes that I still need to take for my Art Studio major. Hell, it's not my fault that I couldn't get into the classes in the first place. I can make it! I'll try, by God, I'll try! Reminder to self: appointment with art adviser tomorrow. Then I need to start choosing classes for next quarter. I haven't even looked at the list yet. I'll wait until after the 28th to take care of the rest of the stuff.

He's nuts, wearing a shirt and tie to every film noir class, with a black fedora to boot! Him and his 1930's mentality, I swear... Not that it's a bad thing. The detective act is definitely swell. It's just that sometimes I wonder exactly how much his brain has melted in this godforsaken heat.

Anyway, enough of that. With the advent of summer, I've actually had time to talk with the guy. Almost immediately I began grilling him about his newfound interests. Immediately being... yesterday. Can you really blame me if my work ethic fails during the summer? I'm usually sitting at home around this time of year, vegetating and letting my brain turn to mush. It doesn't do much for the body, but at least the mind has time to erase information that it won't need anymore, prime examples being the entire periodic table and calculus formulas.

While we were sitting all plush on the davenport watching television (Hell's Kitchen, no less), I popped the question during a commercial break. "Detective stories?" He paused here for a moment. "Oh! You should really ask Mack about that. He's the one who got me into them." Mack, huh? He had mentioned the name before, though I can't remember in what context. When I asked him where I could find this "Mack," he stalled for time until he was saved by Chef Ramsay yelling at one of the poor saps on the tele. I swear, some of those people couldn't cook to save their lives. My money's on either Rock or Julia.

Actually... now that I think about it... I pulled out the mysterious letter I had received via carrier pigeon ever so long ago. After quickly scanning the contents (which had some glaring spelling errors), I found what I was looking for. Aha! "Thomas Parkreiner" knew something about this Mack fellow. Turns out he has a twin brother or something, too. Now if only I had a way to contact this Parkreiner person... Though it was quite mysterious how he had supplied me with information before I needed it. I'll have to keep an eye on him.

There isn't much to say, though I did get some quality shopping done. I now have all but two of Dashiell Hammett's writings, only missing The Big Knockover and another collection of Continental Op stories. Also picked up a couple Philip Marlowe books, four of the Garrett, P.I. novels and the first of the Dresden Files. As for games, got Hotel Dusk and a few others. Kyle Hyde is cool. Too bad I'm stuck in Chapter 3. Some "detective" I am.

In any case, I've got my summer reading set out for me. Complaints about classes will come later in the week, probably.

He's been occupied with who knows what and hasn't discovered that last journal entry yet. It seems to have gone over fairly well, though later that same day a strange message had been slipped underneath the door. "KeEp Us InFoRmEd LiKe ThIs. ThIs eNtErTaInS us" was spelled out with typeface letters probably stolen from old newspaper clippings, like the kind used in anonymous threat letters. I didn't show it to him -- it probably would have put him into one of his infamous panic attacks.

Anyway, his frequent outings gave me more than enough time to do some snooping around. When I was browsing his newly displayed book collection, I found something odd. It wasn't a book, either. There was a suspicious looking CD-case wrapped in a GameStop bag. What's this...he actually had time to play games? What could it possibly be? Disgaea 2? Ar Tonelico? Final Fantasy XII? God forbid... I didn't hesitate to uncover his latest acquisition and came face to face with something completely unexpected. My prying eyes swept across the blood red cover art and eventually came to rest on the title: killer7. Rated M for blood, gore, and violence among other things, no less. Is there something he isn't telling me? When did he become a man? Doesn't he still cringe at the sight of blood? Countless questions cluttered my mind as I slipped the case back into its disguise. I'd have to do some more detectoring. His fault for leaving it out in the open.

It was completely dark inside. He never kept the lamp on, said it saved on the electric bill or something. Stepping in, my right knee made contact with the small side table. A curse escaped through my clenched teeth. When was he going to move that stupid thing? Feeling my way through the darkness, I eventually found the light switch.

On top of the rickety table he used as a desk, there was a loose sheet of paper with writing on it. I knew better than to pick it up -- he would notice the creases and dents, no matter how small they were. Besides, his pencil and eraser were guarding it, so to speak. They looked as if they had been thrown down in a hurry. Sitting in the uncomfortable plastic chair, I began to decipher his slightly messy scrawl.

"5/3/07

I'm guilty.
Yes, I'm guilty.
And I'll be guilty for the rest of my life.
I did the unthinkable,
did what wasn't right --
bought a new hardcover at full price.
I know you'll scold me, baby, but I couldn't help myself.
I couldn't bear to give the coupon to somebody else."

Oh god. Was he trying to make up his own lyrics for the song? Whatever it was, he wasn't doing a very good job at it. Out of a sheer morbid interest in the events of his personal life, I kept reading.

Today was wonderful... I took the unofficial Hammett tour, so to speak. We took a walk down familiar streets to Sam Spade's, and also Dashiell Hammett's apartment. I swear, I must have passed by there so many times without knowing about it! Took some pictures, marveled at the fact that people still live in the building, and wandered on over to lunch at John's Grill. The ambiance was spectacular and the food even better... Washed down half a deluxe burger with a Shirley Temple. That was the best burger I've had in a while, and I don't even eat hamburgers that often. Afterwards, we went to the bookshop and found a couple books, one by accident and on on purpose. On the way home, we passed by the spot where Archer bit the bullet. Again, it was a place that I had walked by so many times without realizing its significance. Where have you been my whole life, Dashiell? Does it mean something that I've discovered both Noir and the Blues at the same time? It must be a sign."

I couldn't help but laugh. Who would've thought he'd like that kinda stuff? Knowing him, he would faint at even the slightest hint of blood. Guess he's finally embracing his heritage as a native San Franciscan. Then again, I was one to talk. Nevermind that. There was another entry below this one, unfinished and with nothing remotely interesting enough to be repeated here (mostly just a grocery list, to those curious people out there).

Looking up, I realized that he had left his laptop on. I dismissed the screensaver and saw the opened dA journal. Ah what the hey, I thought to myself, and decided that he wouldn't mind if I copied this in for him. If he did, well... he shouldn't have given me his key in the first place. He was obviously going to put it in at some point, anyway. Better now than never, otherwise he'd never get it in.

Haven't done anything worthy of uploading, just a bunch of sketches -- all of Mack and Sam. Must be that obsession kicking in. I've got a project involving them in the works which I'll hopefully be able to start soon. Right now the script for it is about... 70% finished. If they're your favorite characters, well... stay tuned. You'll soon find out more about them than you ever wanted to know.

Went to see Jake Shimabukuro and Tommy Emmanuel in concert back on the 10th. It was SO COOL. Strange thing is, I had never heard of Tommy Emmanuel before. But now I like him. Bought Jake's "Gently Weeps" and Tommy's "Endless Road," got both autographed. Need to buy more CDs. ...obsess.

Still no new art. I have some sketches, but they need to be colored first. There's just no time anymore.

In other news, I had an epiphany -- I finally understand how the Unlimited:SaGa system works. It took me two years, but I finally beat the last boss in Judy's story. Roy is such an underrated character, but since he was the one who single-handedly defeated the fourth form of Chaos, he's earned my respect. Hurrah! Now that Judy's story is complete, I'm taking the role of Vent (Vent: Ha-ha! I AM the man!). He's my favorite of the main characters, besides Ruby. I don't care what everyone else says, I love SaGa.

I actually managed to assemble a real costume this time. What was I? Everett Fairfield, medic for a small branch of the Hydrus Army, waging a pointless war in my head (no, , I don't have any photos). I had an authentic U.S. Army shirt I bought from Volunteers of America, a makeshift armband (bearing a red cross and the text "Hydrus Army Medical Serive), a makeshift cross taped to my mesenger bag, a belt, and my green boots. Hooray for WWII era medics! No one except my friends commented, and by the end of the night I think I figured out why -- a guy on the bus thought I was actually from the Red Cross. Huh... I don't know if that's good or bad. Ah well.

In other news, I'm finally back to normal stress levels. Essay for Myths and Legends? Done. Contest entry for RPGamer's Omniart 2006? Done. Japanese homework? Not quite, but I'll get it finished by tonight. Jarian Banner? Getting to it... I think I've found a small, narrow passage around this strain of BLOCK, though.

I'll upload my contest entry after they announce the results for round one -- wouldn't want to spoil the surprise (or lack thereof).

We stood out on the pier and got a really good view of the action. The cameras were in the way, but we got to see the planes up close and personal as they weaved through the huge pylons. I was cheering for number 55, Paul Bonhomme, and he placed in third. That's okay, though! It was worth all the trouble coming back home to see it. I also saw part of the performance by Team Oracle's red biplane. Now THAT was cool, too. Both of those combined were a better deal compared to just the Blue Angels, I thought. The Blue Angels perform every year, so it's... eh. I sure hope they have the Air Race here again next year.

There's a lot of other stuff I feel that I should get off of my chest, but that would ruin the energy and happiness of this entry. Forget the world, forget the universe. All I care about now at this very moment is my newfound interest and obsession of aviation.

I knew I should've bought that Bristol model when I was in Hawaii.

I guess I'm obsessed with biplanes now. It's all Cadwallander's fault! Him and that clan race. Speaking of races, they're gonna have an air race at fleet week. I'm definitely coming home to see it, even if I have homework. Nothing beats seeing real planes, live, in person. Obsession! Obesession!

I'm really miffed, though. First of all, I've had to type out this journal three times because my computer thinks it's REALLY FUNNY to crash just as I'm submitting a completed journal entry. If it can't even submit this one, it's getting smashed to bits. With a hammer. And burned.

Then there's the matter of the apartment. I moved in most of my stuff on Saturday and stayed overnight. Everything was fine until two things happened. One, the TV I've had for nine years suddenly stopped working. It was fine the day before, but then it turned off all by itself. Maybe it didn't like Rogue Galaxy. Spent the whole day looking for a new TV. Didn't come with batteries for the remote. Cheap. Two, the phone line isn't working. I need that phone line because I'm stuck using dial-up. I can't get SBC because the apartment complex only gets Comcast. Rage. Need to call the repairman.

But there's good news. As I was packing, I finally found the games I thought I'd lost. What were they? Advance Wars 2, Minna de Puyo Puyo, Fire Emblem: Rekka no Ken, Harvest Moon: More Friends of Mineral Town, and Dragon Quest III. Where were they? Right in front of me the whole time. Embarrassment. I would have never forgiven myself if I'd lost FE7 a second time.

Anyway, that's enough rambling for now. They don't call me the "Tactician" for nothing. Chapter 26.

After what seemed like an eternity, I finally got to see Porco Rosso! His plane is so cool... barrel Roll! Immelman Turn! The finishing blow! The soundtrack is superb, too, my favorite of all the Ghibli films!

Ahh... now I'm into airplanes again. Why do my interests have to be so wishy-washy? I can't seem to concentrate on just a single thing. Maybe I'm easily bored or something... Here's what I have on my plate so far:

Requests -- Two banners for Byako: a front banner and a clan banner. My muse has abandoned me, left on vacation without so much as inviting me!

Spellchecking and Grammar Lessons -- Mistakes...painful... Must...teach...proper...grammar...

Dragon Quest VIII -- I got my tail kicked by Mister D, so I'm sort of phased... Metal Slime hunting is painful because I didn't get the correct abilities.

Radiata Stories -- May I please have a save point? No? But I need to go eat dinner... What was that, Jack? It's all Cross' fault, you say? Let's sneak into the castle and kick him when he's sitting down! We all know that people who are kicked while they're sitting down won't respond.

Guards! Guards! -- Once again, I'm trying to get back into the Discworld spirit. I love this book... The amazing thing is that I can actually draw Captain Vimes! I'm still having trouble drawing everyone else, though.

Ahh.. so much to do, but I'm feeling slightly knurd. I don't see how that's possible -- I don't drink coffee at all, not Klatchian nor even regular. It does seem like everything is hitting me all at once, though. Guess I'll have to stick it out, as always. Art? There won't be any of that sort of thing until my muse comes back...

Now I'm moving on to Dragon Quest VIII. I know I'm kind of late, but I only just recently got it. So far, I love everything about this game, especially since it looks and feels like Dark Cloud 1/2. Even though there's a bit of levelling, this game isn't so painful as DQVII was... I didn't even get far in it. That game made me want to stab myself in the eye...with a rusted fork. ...anyway! Eight's outfit is so cool...

I might put up some sketches soon... nothing to marvel at. Still torn between games... too much that I want to do...

I've only been home for about a week, but it feels like I never left. in any case, i've managed to finish Valkyrie Profile. Saw all three endings and finished the Seraphic Gate. You've got nothing on me now, Sib! Hah! Same goes for you, Xerain, because I even saw the hamsters! It took me forever and they killed me, but I still saw them!

At the moment, I'm torn between Tales of Eternia and Tales of Symphonia. There's Keele in ToE and Lloyd in ToS... Less to think about in ToE, but everyone's already played ToS... Keele... Lloyd... Agh, my head...

Games aside, I had fun at a friend's birthday party last Thursday. I lost my voice from running around and screaming... in fear. We played hide and seek and then went over to her house to play Cranium. Curse you, Star Performer and Data Head!

I haven't had much motivation to draw lately, either. There was one Bumpy Trot 4-koma idea I had, but I still can't draw Vanilla correctly... It's his hair. I just can't get it to look right. Maybe I'll figure something out later.

Tuesday saw the coming of the first Japanese midterm, although a bit late. I thought I was ready for it, but I think I messed up on the part where we had to write a fake journal entry... Darn. So much for that. I couldn't have studied any more for it, anyway. I had to finish my programs which were due yesterday, on Wednesday. Watched the Amazing Race (Yay for BJ and Tyler!), and messed up on the most complicated of the three programs. Dang! Speaking of yesterday, it was also Gakusei no Hi (Students' Day). Watched all the skits performed by the other Japanese classes and had a good laugh when the teachers performed the Algorithm March, albeit with s oem difficulty. Today saw more procrastination, though I did manage to plan a good outline for my term paper while visiting sensei's office hours. That's due Monday, but I can't work on it until tomorrow. At the moment, I'm attempting to study for Calculus and Programming midterms, both of which are tomorrow. I have a pretty good idea of what'll be on the Programming midterm, since he dropped some pretty big hints at the review session tonight, but I have absolutely no idea what the Calculus midterm will be like. I'll have to skip lunch tomorrow and cram for an hour before the test. I'll end up regretting that later, but it really can't be helped at this point. Hopefully the depression resulting from taking that Calculus midterm won't hinder my writing ability, which I'll definitely need if I'm going to start writing the paper tomorrow.

...phew... I swear, I'll be fine once I've finished the term paper and when the week ends. Completely. I'll be picking up Bumpy Trot, the English version, a day or two after that, so hopefully it'll make me feel better.

I know, I know... I should have planned ahead for the term paper, but... It's just that everything is due on different days. By the time I finish one assignment, I have no brain power left to work on the next. What happens then? Daydreaming... procrastination... petty things... I really do have my head in the clouds.

I do have a small art project in progress, but don't have time to work on it because of this busy schedule. By the time I'm free, I'll probably lose interest in it altogether...

Got up early this morning and saw the parade. It wasn't that long, but there were a lot of tractors and bicycles. There was one bicycle where you turned the handlebars to move the bike instead of pedaling with your feet! Must be more work, though. I'm surprised that there weren't any live cows, though. The closest we got was a van that was covered in a cloth painted with cow spots.

After that, I wandered around randomly and listened to a REALLY GOOD acoustic guitar trio. I've always liked the way that acoustic guitar sounds... Soon after, I met up with friends, had lunch, and wandered around to random exhibits. They had a huge entomology exhibit with honey tasting and cockroach races! Then there was the invertebrae petting zoo. The invertebrae themselves were fine, but there were taxonomic reptiles and preserved squids and sharks lining the sides of the room.. *shivers* Next, we went to the Jack Russell terrier races (JAAAAACK!!). They were surprisingly fast, though some got confused and ran around in circles. We look at other exhibits, too, but now I've forgotten almost everything... Ah well.

In short, all we did was walk around, eat, and look at stuff. They were giving out free strawberry plants, though. I just hope it survives, since our window doesn't directly face the sun. This was definitely more fun than studying, that's for sure.

...and then I guess all that panicking woke me up. Usually I wake up at 6:30, giving myself an hour to wake up for my 8 o'clock class, but this morning I really was half an hour late... 7 just doesn't cut it. Why did this have to happen on a day where I have ALL of my classes? Misfortune is rearing its ugly head again... Must run off to Japanese class.... 悪いなぁ。。。

Both these examples are from the old Ys anime, specifically from the outtakes for the English voices. I swear, Adol's English voice actor is so silly that he should be silenced. Like in the games... Except three. Was it number three? I only watched the beginning of it, but for some reason, Adol gained the ability to speak.

In other news, I'm slowly easing off my SkyGunner addiction. After unlocking Hardi, I found that... there wasn't much else to do. Now all I have to do is break the developer's records and earn an SS ranking to unlock the detatched camera. Copain's story was much easier for me than Ciel's, with only chapter four giving me trouble. The fact remains that I can't pilot any aircraft made by Artisan... The soundtrack arrived in the mail the day I went home, so that made my day. Ah, dear Copain...

Now, after my three day Spring Break, it's time for classes to start again. I'll probably rant about that later. I'm just kinda mad that everyone else gets a week off for Spring Break. Davis is the only school here that doesn't get the whole week... Not only that, but Friday is Caesar Chavez day (read: a holiday), yet my online schedule says that I have class that day. I'm confused...

I thought Ciel and Claus were voiced by the same seiyuu, but I guess I was wrong. They're so similar, though! Both want to become great pilots like their fathers, both are main characters, and they both use Air Brakes (see: episode 5).

On another note, Dark Cloud 2/Dark Chronicle hates me when it comes to save files. I was trying to save my scoops in the album, but it turns out that I didn't have enough space to save it. Thus, I reset, deleted my backup save file, and tried again.... but the file I deleted wasn't the backup file. Oh well, I only lost 2 hours of gameplay and three scoops, one of which is usually A PAIN TO GET (Flying Earth Digger, anyone?).

...poor Moran.

I just realized... Today is February the 26th of 2006. The first day I joined dA was February the 21st of 2004. What does that mean? I missed my dA anniversary... Ah well. It's not like it was very important anyway.

It's been a week and I'm still suffering from SkyGunner mania. Something about that game has captured my heart. I haven't felt this obsessed with something ever since I first discovered Final Fantasy Tactics... It's not something bad, is it?

With the increase in homework, I haven't had time to draw anything seriously. I mean, there are the small little sketches from programming class, but there's nothing epic enough to be a worthy candidate for uploading. Just haven't been inspired lately, I guess... Anyway, I can officially say that I hate my classes... Sure I have a good time schedule, with most classes in the afternoon, but I'm not having much fun. I don't even know what my teacher is talking about in Asian Studies 2. I miss my other Asian Studies teacher... Too bad he's not teaching this quarter. There's a lot more reading to be done, and most of it so far has been statistics. "Blah blah % of nail salons are owned by Vietnamese Americans, and blah blah blah Cambodian doughnut shops come from blah blah %" and so on. It's interesting, but there are too many numbers... After a while, I just stop paying attention...

In the meanwhile, I've been playing Illusion of Gaia again. I'll finish it this time, I swear! I had to restart once because I forgot to use the Red Jewel FAQ... Anyway, I'm making some progress. I think I'm about halfway through the game already. I'll be done in no time. Hopefully, the ending won't be as bad as Soul Blazer's, though Will and Kara probably end up getting together at the end... Isn't there something wrong about their age difference? Will looks much older than her... But then again, that could just be me. I'll leave it at that until I see the ending.

I don't want to be 19... I feel so OLD... *sob* Oh well, no use crying over it now... S'already happened... *sniff*

Other than that... I actually had a bit of fun today. We went to see both the Chronicles of Narnia and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Both were really, good, I thought! It's just that the end part of Harry Potter was scary... and depressing... Poor Cedric... After that, we went for a late dinner at Red Robin. Hooray for cheeseburgers!

As for gaming... well... Surprisingly enough, I haven't had time for that at all! It's amazing. I've been out of the house for three days in a row! That'll all end tomorrow, though. I'll be damned if I can't start playing Shadow of the Colossus tonight. After I get my fill of that, I'll start on Valkyrie Profile again. I would be playing U:SaGa, but... Somehow I've lost the fire to play it... Finals are to blame. Three weeks without so much as looking at the game you want to play most will do that to you.

Alright, time to find a colossus... I still think it's kind of senseless to kill them just to save your "girlfriend." What a waste of life...!

It was ....scary.... to say the least. It's terrifying to imagine being locked up in one of those tiny cells... If the cells weren't bad enough, the solitary confinement rooms were the worst. They were cells with no windows or lights. Once the door closed, you were left alone in pitch black darkness, with the faint smell of rusting metal... Most likely you wouldn't have contact with other people for days on end, depending on what you did to be punished that way in the first place.

Other than that, it was pretty interesting. There were stories about various incidents that happened in the few years it was being used as a high security prison. There was violence in the dining hall, when prisoners were fed up with being served the same lunch everyday (a pun...?). In another case, prisoners took some guards hostage, shot most of them, and almost escaped from the building. The most interesting story of all, I thought, was of three brothers who were artists. Using spoons from the dining hall, they slowly dug out the grating that covered the ventilation system. They covered up the hole with a fake grating they had painted on a piece of canvas... On the night of their escape, they placed hand-crafted dummy heads on their pillows as a decoy and climbed up though the ventilation system. They successfully made it out of the building, but no one knows if they ever survived the swim back to the bay. I wonder how they managed to make those dummy heads, anyway...

Now I know that I never, ever want to be thrown in prison. It would be.... mind-shattering. ...that is, plenty of time if I wasn't so easily distracted. Somehow, I managed to get addicted to RBO again. This time, however, I managed to clear Sograt Desert and Payon Dungeon with my Novice. Ahhh, Novvy... So weak, yet also strong once you gain enough Intelligence to use your special attack. Yep, I named him after Ragnarok Wisdom's Novvy the Novice. My female novice is named Kawaii-Chan, of course. I'm only playing as Novvy so I can unlock the secret stage. It'll take me forever, but I'll manage... It's either this or get my arse handed to me by [very first boss on the Human path] in Radiata Stories. That was sad.... I was rushing a bit, I guess, but it's sad nonetheless.

These are only minor distractions until I return home to complete my real objective: defeat the final boss in Unlimited:SaGa.

Yesterday I spent the day with highschool friends. We painted the town red (that's the Lowell color.... what a coincidence) and went ice skating. It was just like old times. We even ended up sitting on the steps of the stage in Union Square Park, in the same place we used to sit on the steps at school. Scary... We had fun, though.

In the meantime, I've been trying to fell the final boss in Unlimited:SaGa, Judy's scenario. I have no trouble with the humanoid form of the boss, but once it mutates into the ghastly Ashura-esque form, it's all over for me. I've been reading up on its stats, and found out that it has a total of 69LP over four forms. That's CRAZY. After four attempts of trial and error, I found out that I wouldn't be able to win, even if I got past the first three forms. How much damage was I able to dish out to the final form when I got to it? 1LP. ONE LP. After five or six rounds of attacking it, I only took off 1LP before my party was wiped out. Crap. I think I have my winning strategy planned out now. First, I need to rearrange my party into one almost completely composed of melee fighters, then go on sidequests to increase HP and stats. I find it kind of ironic, having to use a melee party in a mage scenario... Anyway, I'll have to wait until after finals to put the plan into action. ....I think BT Ultimate will haunt me for the rest of the week, too... The thing gives me nightmares and bad memories every time I listen to it now...

A summary of the previous paragraph: After facing the last boss in U:SaGa, I will never complain about any other boss in the game. EVER.

Nope. I didn't finish my homework. I spent all my time on U:SaGa...
