Notably, I took my writing off and added the commission/freebie work I never added before. Hope I didn't forget anything...

Thanks for the comments and faves on my writing to those who took the time to read it.

Anyway, I do like to give props to the artists who have done work for me. The most recent:

recently did a commission for me that I think turned out awesome and you can see it here: [link] (wish I could post a thumbnail!)

And the latest from Jami... the first art I have had done of Shooting Starr, a City of Heroes version of my character, Starr, a half elven/human archer [link]

Also, did this up of Kellina and Lilac: [link] What an awesome surprise that was!

Latest commission of my character Shooting Starr coming from is here: [link]

Anyway, the writings are gone aside from anything pertaining to my characters that I have artwork done of.

No new commissions for a while, very sad. It's always nice to have something in the pipeline.

Cheers everyone!

Heh.

Well, my time with City of Heroes has come to a stop. My signature character, Dark Lilac, and my other favorite characters are off on some wonderful long, long, long and much needed vacation I guess.

They are not gone to me, of course, and still live in my mind and I still have some commission ideas I'd like to see some day...once this whole money and economy issue clears up. I really want to see an ultimate duo piece of my sisters, Lilac and Kellina.

I'd also like to get more art of my human/elf archer who has lived in my mind for 8 years now and only recently has seen some artwork. Took long enough, eh? I want more tho...

I'll still be lurking here and there and checking out all the awesome arts and wishing for Spring to get here ASAP.

Can someone decide on the spelling of grey/gray or did Crayola decide for us? It seems gray is an Americanized version for the UK grey.

On my drive home tonite this essay or something of the sort started formulating in my mind. The words flowed but it was emotional, or at least, it was meant to invoke some emotion. Well, as many a writer can attest, by the time I got home the lovely, flowing, perfectly worded essay was lost.

There was just no way to recapture the tone.

The first line is how this essay started. The last is how it ended.

I found the little girl, her body shaking as she tried to fight back the tears, to be brave, to be strong. The little girl looked up at me when I asked her if she was lost. Her head shook and she pointed at me. She lives deep within me.

Wow, I could really go on about all of this but that would make this into some whining rant...oh wait...

*cough*

Anyway....a week goes by and there are like 800 new deviations. I'm overwhelmed. I would be here till 5 am looking and commenting. But I did see some fabulous new work, but that's no surprise!

I could go for a really nice cup of and I'm a little sad that I have to start packing all of my

I just started writing things that came to mind because I wanted to get the old journal off. Sure, I could have not written anything but that's not typical of me. However, if I keep on this course of writing whatever is on my mind this could get way out of control! Now she's out of the hospital and staying with me. I'm a good daughter or at least we'll find out how good...heh. And I got the joy of tearing a ligament in my knee right after she got back from the hospital. So now I am stuck here all day until I can get back to work. You can imagine the fun

On top of that, my mother sold her condo and we need to pack it up and clean it out and now...I got the news that so have I so I need to do that as well. We both had a condo in the same complex, both sold and will be moving to a place more suitable with more room and I hope a yard. I can't even convey how badly I want to move out of this hell hole so that's good news.

Lots of changes. I'll be around sporadically until the actual move and then gone for awhile till we get settled and get internet again. *twitches thinking about it* And I'll miss a lot of good art and stories during this time but I'll have a mountain of goodness to check out when things get back to normal!

What a time it is...and I can't get David Bowie's 'Changes' out of my head.

*waves*

Hehe. I was tagged by and I will not let her down! So here goes:

TYPE YOUR FIRST NAME WITH YOUR. . .

1. Fingers: Karen

2. Chin: kazrdn (Hmm, sorta liking this for a fantasy character or city name or something)

3. One finger, eyes closed: karen

4. Elbow: lksarenj

5. Nose: karen

6. Palm: karen (a very light touch made this easier than I thought)

1) List four fandoms you have: Ewan McGregor. Oh wait, that's like stalkery isn't it, pretend you never saw it. Moving on!

2) Have you ever slept in the back of a car? Does the front seat count?

3) Have you recently dyed or cut your hair? Hmm, a few months ago, I guess that isn't really recent..

4) List four people you look up to the most: Family and friends, not specifically 4...

5) How many pets do you currently own? One fuzzy wuzzy, my dog. Want more!

6) Which do you prefer, white or black? Black but I do like both.

7) Who is your most played character? Hmm, CoX wise I'm going to say Xaellana for pure time spent in game, not necessarily actually playing half the time tho.

8) Choose one or the other, not both:
-Stuck on an island with your best friend
-Stuck on an island with 5 aquaintances
Acquaintances or I might have one mortal enemy stuck with me. Plus 5 more brains and 5 more bodies to think and build shelter, etc.

9) Write 3 aspects that tell who you are: Empathic, shy (no one thinks so but I do), loyal

10) If you could have a power, what would it be? A toughie! I'm not really sure. It doesn't say Super power so I'm going to go with something a little more...non super, heh. Like...to heal, but not in the physical sense, more in the mental sense. Give people peace, contentness, the ability to just be happy with where and who they are.

11) Who was the last person you talked to: my friend

12) Who was the last person you said "I love you" to? My mommy

13) Write the first 5 words that pop into your head: I always hate this question

14) What's the one thing you wish you could do better? Write. Mostly with the technical aspects. I think I do other aspects just fine.

15) Do you like the way you are? Sometimes

16) Choose Summer or Winter: Well...I have to go with the lesser of 2 evils here and choose...summer.

17) Choose Rain or Snow: Rain

18) Choose Water or Ice: water

19) List 2 odd things about yourself:
Why are odd things so hard to think about...hmm...I love history: Medieval, Dark Ages. But I've never been a big sword and sorcery fan which seems to draw on those time frames. I've always liked thing that might be more fairy tale than true fantasy. But then that's fantasy anyway isn't it...

Now tag a few people:
Hmm...*goes thru list* Hasn't everyone been tagged already.. *looks again* Hmm.. let's try

Oh, these things are always tough and no one has to feel obligated and I'm done! Yay!

Out with old and in with the new. Spring is coming and I love early Spring. Specifically, April mornings, early. These days I live in a condominium so I can't just go out in my backyard and enjoy what I used to.

An early April morning where the sun is just rising over the tree tops casting it's golden glow for the first time that day and chasing away the last remnants of a winter chill. A blue jay flying by with it's early call or the cardinals that used to nest in a thorny bush, all of that I miss and all of that is coming soon, it's March already!

Even my dog misses it, I'm sure of it! He likes basking in the sun, odd as that is, he's a husky and loves the air conditioning just as much. But most of all, I miss the sanctuary that was my backyard and my inspiration for cheesy poems and long wandering thoughts that turned into stories.

I despise shared living. That's another journal entry itself. For now...I miss my backyard and all the lovely things that came with it.

. . . sometimes it feels like a mighty effort. I have my notes, I have my ideas so where are the words? WHERE? My pen doesn't mind read, much to my dismay. Wouldn't that be cool...if my pen could somehow tap into my brain and gather the data and then right before my eyes the words would be flowing out into my notebook...*dreams*

As attached as I am to writing on my computer it all gets done the old fashioned way first, hand written in a notebook. I like it better that way, I feel more connected to it and then once it's in the computer it is like a formal presentation for the world to see. All the odd bits of me lost for anyone else.

Well, I do feel a bit of wellness in that I did manage to get a few paragraphs down as a good basis for something. Here's hoping it turns into more sooner rather than later!

Oooh, so I was put on the spot by to list "Six Weird Things About Yourself". For all the times I call myself a bit odd I really have to give this thought! But I'm going for it...

1. Ok...this is probably just as weird as it might be embarassing. I got this bronze colored metal
key chain, oh maybe like 10 yrs ago, of Luke Skywalker that I still keep on my keychain
because I got this weird notion it keeps me safe on the road...good luck or something...heh. I don't really believe in lucky charms otherwise.

2. I write. Aren't writers just weird?

3. Mayophobia? Mayonnaise is disgusting. And more and more places seem to put it on just about everything and anything. I won't touch it with a 30 ft pole! Just Say No To Mayo!

4. I like cloudy days, dry with a slight breeze.

5. I like Danny Kaye movies.

6. I once had a terrible accident with a toothpick.

That was tough but I needed a new journal entry anyway. They get stale after awhile, don't they?

I think I might also post some of my favorite costumes/characters and bio stuff in my scraps. Lilac is in there for reference since most of the art I have is of her. Her game bio explains things to a degree but not completely.

I hope to post more writing too, but nothing I do is ever complete. I tend to write 'scenes' as I call them and then somehow they should link together. Or I'll write a scene of how 2 characters met but nothing more. *sigh* I need to work on my skills.

Most of my writing is not City of ... related. It is but it isn't. I'm at a loss at the moment to explain that one further. Oh well, who reads anymore anyway? hehehe

I didn't tag anyone back.....am I doomed?? I best do my edit and tag! Um... 6 Weird things from ---> and and and

Much to learn and much to watch and much to favorite!

Oh...this might be a good place to let some people know this is Dark Lilac from the CoX forums! In the process of adding everyone and learning everything here on Deviant. So if you see this strange name poking around, favoriting or watching ya, it's just me

Also, want to stress to non City of Hero/Villain familiars that none of the artwork here is mine. Characters and designs are mine, but the art is all by other wonderful artists.

However, perhaps one of these days I'll put up my writing. Right now that's just too SCARY a prospect but maybe soon...
