So as maybe two of you know, I do funny voices. So I was thinking of making some PSAs (or Public Service Announcements) on people, places, things, ideas, and actions (basically nouns and verbs) using what I have dubbed as my "Crazy Old Man" voice. Think Dumbledore from Potter Puppet Pals, except I'm not that cool or well known.

Now the fact that I'm using that particular voice is because this would be for comedic purposes only. And since I'm tell y'all about this first, you get to decide what it is I should be "informing children" about since we all know PSAs are made from the reaction of parents too stupid or busy to realize that their children know more about the sexual exploits at middle school than their parents know what's for dinner. But that's... well, somewhere around the point.

Fact of the matter is, what would y'all wanna hear in terms of funny PSAs? They're gonna be short, quick, and only involve pictures since I'm far too poor to own a video camera. And no, I'll not use the one on my phone since it sucks. Well maybe... nah, I'll stick with pictures unless something comes up.

Oh, one rule: nothing involving sexual acts. I doubt people wanna hear some old man voice talking about... yeah, you get the idea I hope.

Once I make a video, I'll post it on YouTube and inform y'all.

What does your username have to do with you? Is it a combination of your favorite things, or a character of yours?
I love telling this story. It's based on a character of mine: Demon King Atticus. Some of my earliest accounts use the "Demon" part but I figured I'd chop it off for this and other later accounts. Anyways, Demon King Atticus is the first ruler of all the Demons unified in my universe. He's the Spirit of Fire who manifested into a physical form and formed a system that had been in place for thousands of years.

What is your current icon of?
Onion in Study Mode. With the cooler weather coming in a bit earlier than I had expected, I changed him from using a fan to reading a book... which is what I should be doing.

Honda Wolfgang [link]
1) The name Honda was actually inspired by the Japanese name of Tristan Taylor in the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga (my first manga ever). Whatever his last name used to be I've forgotten, but I liked the name Wolfgang. Most of the last names of my earliest characters look very Japanese or just Eastern in general.
2) After watching an episode of Dog the Bounty Hunter, and later a rerun of Cowboy Bebop, I liked the idea of a bounty hunter character.
3) Originally when he was still a concept, Honda looked very Duke Nukem with sunglasses, buff arms, black shirt with no sleeves, and combat boots. I decided a more Irvine Kineass look was better, though Honda was a trained soldier.
4) Although they're never seen in the story though briefly mentioned, Honda's grandparents are still alive though they were back on Earth when the Sanwood Massacre took place.

Kari Suzuka [link]
1) This is an old character for sure. Way back when, I watched Digimon and loved the character of Kari, Tai's little sister, and simply loved that name. Suzuka sounded Japanese, but found out much recently that it roughly means "pure wind" or something along those lines. Kari, oddly enough, means "pure" (or at least the definition I found), and was cured by a prayer to the Wind Spirit.
2) Skies of Arcadia. Kari was a mix between Aika and Fina: a sexy figure, a decent fighter, yet still a sensitive soul with a gentle spirit.
3) Kari has gone through many changes, like all my female characters, due to the girls I've either loved or had crushes on. Kari once had long brown hair, glasses, and a few freckles.
4) Kari is a well-known flirt when she likes someone.

Yumi Hirai
1) To be quite honest, I've forgotten how I chose her last name. But I thought Yumi was a very sweet yet flirty name. Don't be fooled though.
2) Again, she's based on a girl I liked. Personally wise at least. I figured Yumi would look like someone who was... flexible.
3) She's a very recent character, so she has seen no real changes. How she's first read about is how I envisioned her.
4) Despite her personality, she has a dark and complicate past.

Manriki Nobunaga [link]
1) Manriki is a Japanese word for a vice, or a tool you use to hold something in place, and I figured that sounded like something a blacksmith might use. I don't many know, so I'm probably wrong. However, I've made it a tradition for men of the Nobunaga Clan to have a name that translates into some kind of tool or simple machine.
2) Manriki has a couple points of inspiration. First his grampa, Kasugai, certainly is in him spiritually. Also I took aspects of Musica from Rave Master as they were both blacksmiths. And finally maybe a bit of Zelos from Tales of Symphonia: a playboy with some regret. As for his coat, you can thank Kamina from Gurren Lagaan (sp?).
3) He's also a recent character so don't expect too much change.
4) Manriki typically only asks questions he feels need answers. He's never asked about his father, what his mother was saved from, or why his grandfather was a Blue Star for Artemeus.

So what's the point of this you might be asking yourself. If not, now you are.
And if you still aren't, you're just a mean meanie... jerk.

Well lemme tell ya what it is! For those of ya that remember say, oh... 3 weeks ago give or take a day, I made mention of making a codex of sorts with detailed information on each of the Grand Alliance species. Seeing as how there are only four of 'em, it wasn't too hard. However, it took me so damn long to make sure I didn't make any contradictions with what I had already put. If there are any, I can easily explain them to keep continuity though I hope such doesn't have to be done. But when there is a massive Universe, information can get lost along the way. It just happens, y'know? The Telephone Game Effect you could call it.

It's finished and if it's popular enough I'll add other pages to it. The minor alien races that play little role might take a while to make, though some of them should be easy enough to make.

So here's the deal: it's taking me a while to get The Treasures of Artemeus to a place that I don't need to worry too much. Inspiration is punching me left and right to say the least and recent events have left me lackluster. Here's what I can do.
- go straight to where The Treasures of Artemeus is currently (that means what I've finished writing) and then put the Alliance Codex on my regular schedule of Sunday as a hiatus for four weeks.
- put up the Alliance Codex, with one entry per Sunday starting this coming Sunday, and then continue with The Treasures of Artemeus.

So here I am once again, ready to embark on a new journey. A journey simply known as my sophomore year. "Why do I care?" you may be asking yourself, to which I reply "I'll tell ya why!" because I'm such a sweetie.

I'm liking my update schedule so far. My three known fans have yet to complain about this, they support my writing hobby, and they love what I produce. However, I've seem to hit a rut. I was hoping that what I wrote could last me a while but I might be wrong on this since the series is slowly creeping up to where I have completed (that is, to what I like that I've written) and has me a bit nervous.

The good news is that you won't have to worry about me quitting. This looks to be my longest work and may last quite a while. I've come a long way from what I used to be. My detail is improving, my characters becoming more complex, my universe beginning to form a canon, and my chapters getting longer and more interesting. So long as you learn from what you do, you can have fun at anything. Unfortunately, not all the work force our societies have can't apply this since for some it may mean not eating or not having a home so I enjoy it while I can. Also becoming a teacher can help in this so I can still learn from my mistakes and improve weakness to strength.

The bad news is that with this new-found complexity I want to give y'all my best but with school, homework, and possibly a new work study I hope to get coming in the next week or so, I might not be able to give a steady update (well okay, I don't exactly do that now. my last deviation was uploaded about 24 hours ago or so and before that maybe later that day when people are awake).

Here's the neutral news (yes, neutral. not good or bad). For the past couple of days I've been working on a mini project which I've dubbed "Alliance Codex" since it sounds academic. For those of you who ain't a nerd like I am, a codex is an archaic word for what we know as a "book" which replaced scrolls in Western cultures centuries ago. Today the word is used more as a collection of old manuscripts, predominately those of dogmatic scripture, in book form. I'm using it as a word to describe the complexity and detailed account of the Grand Alliance races individually using what would sound like a college textbook or an encyclopedia entry. As it stands now I've finished only one race and continuing on the other three as a way to collect inspiration while putting down old or recently made ideas. If popular I may work on the other alien races as well. Think of it as a guide if you read something and need to look it up or as an expansion of knowledge known to the characters but not to you.

So that's it for my update.

As y'all might notice, I'm not exactly the best artist in the world though far from the worst. Think of me as above the bottom barrel.Just look at my drawings and you'll see. Anyways, a good acquaintance of mine did a request for me long ago drawing her idea of Honda Wolfgang using details I gave in the story. The piece can be found here: [link]

I've asked her to do another drawing yet she hasn't posted it yet (though people can be busy and I'm not paying her to do it so she can take her sweet time or none if she prefers) but I've realized that many of y'all are artists in your own right. So here are the rules of this contest:

Lemme explain the symptoms then. Any my medicine/psych peeps who can help me out of this stupor would be great.

So I know what I wanna write. I've got it all in my head. I have the ending already envisoned (which will be great!) and the basic foreground. The problem is just getting motivated to write it! Or, to keep my house metaphor, I can't get myself to start building.

My typical means of inspiration feel dry. I listen to certain music over and over, kinda like a backgrounnd music if you will, and that gets me writing. If it's epic, maybe some boss music or orcheastra. If it's calm, something that's easy listening. In the city = something upbeat and busy. In space = menu or world map theme. You can get a feeling of what I write when you listen to specific types of music, more so with what I listen to. However the music is getting... harder to listen to if that makes sense. I can't have pure silence. I need Lola (my mom's dog) barking at cats, a child next door laughing, the TV on some channel besides news, dammit all I need a cough!

And when I get the right music, I can't get myself to write still. I wanna improve on what I work on. If y'all reread some of my older stuff it's almost hard to bear. Quality-wise, Bounty is better than The Demon Swordsman, and The Exploits of Artemeus is far better than Bounty. I also wanna get better with battle scenes. Describing a battle is easier than drawing it, but to get that feeling is easiest in a drawing. We've become so used to seeing things that we've felt a need to describe it more.

If I can break out of this mess I feel in my mind, then no worries. If I can't, then y'all are looking at about only four more chapters until I gotta get to it. I'm not gonna end a project I've begun posting now, nor do I plan to do so. But if y'all got any ideas on what I could do to get the spark in full flame, I'll kindly take up suggestions. That being said, I might not reject them so kindly.

So guess what? I've finished my first year of college! Yea for me.

And boy was it mindwracking. I mean I had to study, eat, sleep, and pack in about two weeks. "But KA, that doesn't sound hard!" Well neyah! I didn't say it was hard, did I? No!

Lemme be nice now... okay. Sorry, I haven't eaten yet.

So, this semester I had four finals out of my five classes. I didn't have to take Political Science since my professor stated that if we were happy with our grade as it stood from the four tests, we didn't have to go. Awesome right? English was the easiest and least worrisome sinec it only was worth 5% of my grade, though my final paper I had to turn in was 25% so it evens out. History of course not a problem since I'm such a darn genious, though much of it was Cold War stuff up to the Clinton administration. My comm. class was another story: if I made less than a 25 on the final I'd have a D but I'd need a 95 or higher to get a B, so I made a C in my hardest class. And of course there was philosophy. It was more a history of philosophy course in that we started from the pre-Socratics up to Sartre and his radical freedoms. (btw, I agree with Sartre the most. But I'm liberal, so I like the Europeans by default.)

Interestingly enough, I don't recall any American philosophers. I mean it was only a five month course to span over 2000 years, so it's of little consequence I think.

Anyhow, with summer upon me now I'll have plenty of free time to continue working on the newest story. I'm kinda liking the update only on Sunday method actually. I might make it my own personal policy since it seems to work the best (if it can work during finals week, it can work all semester right?). So stay tuned!

And if you really didn't know, I live in Texas and I'm a Democrat.

So, why the concern? Because I voted for this man. I have contributed to the problem under the impression that Texas would remain in the country. I voted Republican for my governor and my Senator sure, but I voted for Obama as well. I've no regret for my voting Obama, but now I've got reason to regret voting for these Republicans.

Now while Perry didn't say this outright but rather sounded as though he were dancing around the idea, a majority of the Republicans in this state are embracing the idea with Limbaugh's apparent sucessor Glenn Beck. In fact, they had the gall to stand in front of the Alamo and cheer for the idea of leaving that nation and then after that started chanting "USA! USA!"

I'm slightly biased to Democratic ideas but of course I'm leaning to some Republican ideas such as the right to a gun. But this... this to me is un-American. Protesting is American, declaring that we should leave the nation because "we'd be better off" is damn near treason.

Look, Obama isn't perfect. But where were these Republicans during the Bush Administration when civil rights were taken, when we were torturing, when we were spending ourselves to death over two wars? Where the hell were they for those 8 years? Obama has official been in office for 100 days, slightly over three months, and Republicans now decide to leave?

John Cornyn, the senator I voted for, voted for the Bush Stimulus but against the Obama Stimulus. Why? Where is the logic? What the hell is wrong with these people!?

I'll say right now and y'all hold me to this: if Texas decides secession is the way to go, I'm high-tailing it out of here. I love my state, but I love my country more.

Looking back at my first writings, I realized that I have indeed made progress. This is important because I'm able to see just how my style is evolving. The biggest improvement to say the least is my illustrations and descriptions of the story. Also I'm making adjustments to the larger story as a whole because of these little projects I've been doing, so I'd like to thank all of y'all for this.

As for you people who've read the final chapter, I do intend to continue it but it's getting to that time in school when ya gotta buckle down for finals and make the grade. Though I'll still be writing, there won't be a whole lot of postings. I might do a couple comics here and there since that's fairly easier than writing out chapters. Also if I feel like doing something funny or maybe some bad poetry, you might see that.

Anyways, so now that's out of the way... my sister's birthday is coming up soon so I gotta get her something. Also my aunt is getting married next month so I need to make sure I can go. Despite being part Mexican, I'm mostly White so my family is fairly small, young, and not marrying all the time. (Take a joke if you frown at this. Caucasian is just a mouthful.)

In the way of any new projects for the summer, I don't think there will be a whole lot. This last project took me from November 2 to April 5. That's almost half a year. And if we wanna look at it from long term, I started AoF back in June '08. That's ten months. And with this next installment, we're looking at what could be the longest project I've ever put on DA. That right there is something I can be proud of. And it's all thanks to y'all.

Anyhow, so remember how two months ago I said I'd be posting the story much more frequently? That was due to the fact that, as a few of y'all might have noticed, that the story is now taking place at the beginning of a new year. This is because when I put a date in a story, that is a fair place to say that was the day I was writing or began writing it. My hope was to make the story up to the curremt date as I had done previously but that didn't work out so well.

So, to put simply, I'm now kinda stuck on a chapter and the end isn't as in sight as I had hoped. So if y'all notice I don't update for a while, don't panic! I just need some time to finish out the series, edit the big stuff, and put the finishing touches before I start my break before my next project. I figured to do something of a trilogy since I really like this storyline and how it's been so far, so look forward to that.

That's about all to report for now.

But, contrary to popular thought, not everyone is happy that Obama is the president.

In my philosophy class which I started just today we began talking about how today was such a historic day with the inaguration a day after MLK's observed birthday. A single man in a wheelchair was asked what he thought and he called it "the saddest day of our nation's history." I knew where this was going since I heard my stepbrother's voice when this young man spoke.

Now whether he ended up in a wheelchair because he went to Iraq I can only guess, but he was angered that many of us supported him. He said that Obama was a Muslim and went to a Muslim school and all this. The professor stopped him to tell him that Obama isn't a Muslim to which someone behind me stated why it mattere if he was Muslim. I did a facepalm essentially: he's ex-military from Iraq so of course it matters to him, just like with Protestants worried about JFK being Catholic. The difference is that JFK was actually a Catholic.

A large black guy stood up so Wheelchair Man, whom I call him since his name's a mystery, could see him. Now this big guy I respected because he was calm in his voice and said that if Wheelchair Man was a man of God, since only Christians would be upset at the possibility of a closet Muslim in office, that he shouldn't worry about what will happen. Wheelchair Man makes the boldest lie I have ever seen saying "Who said I was a man of God?" and didn't wanna listen to the big guy because he didn't care he was black but made a point of him not being racist. Did I mention this guy had a Southern accent?

Wheelchair Man began talking about us all being brainwashed by the liberal media and packed his things so he could leave and swore to drop the class. The professor, still calm and not wanting the conversation to escalate from his previous question, wanted to ask him what he had learned in college. He left through the doors and the professor was left without an answer.

Some joked about the situation but I simply sat in my chair upset at my class, beside the professor and the big black guy, and this veteran. Neither considered the other nor prepared for the obvious reactions. All I'm left with is a redneck vet in a wheelchair who was no older than myself leave the class rambling what sounded like government conspiracies and a classroom with mostly disrespectful idiots who don't care for our military.

It sickens me that this guy could be someone like my stepbrother, who doesn't hide his hate for Obama nor his love of the Confederacy. The only difference here is that I can at least show respect to the ex-soldier for defending our nation in a stupid war than freely acknowledge some stupid ghetto streetrat bastard who dips, likes to shoot guns, and get kicked out of public school and possibly private school as a stepbrother.

Sorry about this y'all, but I've been holding this in all day and had to vent it. I suppose in respect to my philosophy professor's question, I hope to get a better understanding of others out of my college experience. I want to know why I care so much and why I feel a need to tell people these sorts of things. I want to know just what kind of person I really am.

So here we stand at the crossroads. The last day of 2008. A lot has happened, hasn't it? The first black man elected as President, fears not seen since the Cold War when Russia went into Georgia, Gaza being attacked by Israel, shoes thrown at the President, and I've submitted 91 deviantions starting January 1, 2008.

What will this coming year bring? Some think destruction, some think hope, and some think nothing will happen. How can one react to a possible march to another Great Depression or a World War? With optimism.

Let us spend time with those we wish to ring in the new year, be they human or otherwise. Don't make resolutions unless you're determined. And hope that the future we pave is bright because someday we'll look back with whatever we left.

As I've once said before: I'm a romantic of the past, a pessimist of the present, and an optimist of the future.

I must congratulate McCain though. After overcoming ageism and all the trials of the media, he ran a great campaign. His speech was spoken so emotionally and heartfelt that I felt compelled to salute him. It wasn't a matter of choice. I had to. He took his loss with great dignity with his head high and made him truly worthy of the respect given by his followers and fellow party members.

I was nearly on the verge of crying when Obama's speech ended. Here I am, an 18 year old, witnessing the creation of history of the first minority to be elected as president.

Now, to be honest, I would be upset if Obama lost. Likewise I would be proud to have seen the oldest president elected with the first female VP because that is still a historic event in our nation's history.

I am not saying that one party or the other was wrong or to blame for the problems occuring. I also hope that y'all have the respect and ability to be the bigger person and not flame either candidate from the race on this journal. But we as Texans, Americans, and denizens of the world have bore witness to the beginnings of a new chapter of American history. It is not impossible for a minority to gain the highest office in the world. Let the future judge us before we judge ourselves, but let us see the world with hope for the future.

On another note I have gotten a good portion of the sequel to The Adventures of Flint. This time it'll be much longer and more episodic, possibly longer than Bounty if y'all like it enough. Now I could do one of two things:

1) Although I said I'd start posting the sequel come next year (two months) I can start posting this November. Oddly enough it's hard to think of plots for comics and, unlike the brains behind the great webcomics like 8-Bit Theatre or Ctrl+Alt+Del, can't think of good ideas for a comic series. As it could be now, it'll be more like an intermission between writing sessions.

2) If y'all really like my comics that much, I'll make more but it'll take a while since there's much more work that goes into it rather than thinking and typing. If this occurs then I'll do as planned and start posting the sequel to AoF come January 2009. However I cater to my audience, so if y'all got an idea for a bland comic (aka no background images) then I'm all ears... er, eyes.

Well that's been stated, I guess I could talk about my personal life?

It's the middle of the semester and that means plenty of crap for me to do. I've got to register for classes this Thursday since all Freshmen are blessed with the last pickings, which is not all bad since the only other students that sign up for general classes are the sophomores and a few juniors. I refuse to do any class earlier than 9:30 AM and no later than 4:00 PM! (though my luck will play a role in that, and I've been unsually lucky as of late )

As for my employment situation, I've gotten over that a bit. I figured I should wait until my sophomore year to get a job. I don't like simply asking for money but my grampa certainly can be persuasive. In his words he told me "If you get offered money by family then take it!" I rebuttled about my mom offering him and Gramma money to which he said "That's different." And he's right. I'll never win in an argument with that man.

I've taken a liking to this one girl but can't seem to get past the casual talk. Anyone who's seen a pic of me know I'm no prince charming. No money, no job, no car, thus equal to no chance. It's like that song "She's So High Above Me" (I prefer the Fastball cover song personally), about the lower class guy in love with a high class girl. Granted she isn't rich or anything, but it feels the same. I haven't had a lot of relationships, my last girlfriend being back before high school. Ah well, it's not anyone's problem but my own.

So for an English class I read this short work by a writer who asked herself why we write. What's the purpose? Who do we write about?

This got me thinking about my own writing and the similar characteristics of the settings and people in my stories. Do I write about me a lot? Do I write simply for its sake or is there some reason that I want people to read my stories? And why must I write when I can quit anytime? Obviously not many read my stories, yet I'm okay with that.

Taking these one step at a time, I'll start with whether I write about me a lot. Clearly in these journals and the comics I do, but what about my stories? The main character is typically a white Human with some secret or regret about his past, be it life-changing or insignificant to the eyes of the uninformed, and is incredibly independent with no need for the charity of others. Also his parents, primarily at least one, are typically absent for a portion of his life and he likes the girl-next door but never get together until the end when they realize they love each other. Typically these are the standard stock characters of most fantasy works of the 20th century. However I notice bits and pieces of me in there. I'm white and Human, my parents divorced so I never spent much time with my dad after elementary school and my mom supported us by working a lot, and I've always had an immense sense of independence since I was little. And I did have a crush from a girl who lived across the street from me, but now she's getting married to a Marine (no I'm not going because I wasn't invited and even so I'm not gonna say 'I object!' because the feeling was short-lived). But it's between Honda Wolfgang and Flint Suzuka that I get an odd sense of conflict. Honda admires his father staying to protect his mother and other colonists during the raid and wants to be like him and fight to death for a noble cause; Flint hates his father for leaving his mother and him at a young age and adopts a very relaxed attiude when his mother died. Now which could I relate more to? Easily Flint. Me and my dad haven't had the best relationship, especially after one instance where I rejected him entirely and feared being around him. However I can relate to Honda in that I'm proud my dad has finally begun to move on and remake his life, hopefully for the better. I say this because he's buying a house for his new wife. Luckily we live in Texas, but things are sure to change. However, I can say my experiences and emotions have surely flowed into my characters.

So do I write for the sake of others or for myself? I have thought about this long before I read the thing for English. Some instances I write for myself, mainly in any poems I have posted. However I know I'm no better a poet than an artist, so poems on here are few and far between. However I do believe I write for others. I've always enjoyed entertaining others with stories, jokes, amusing voices, and that such (once even doing karaoke). Where else on the Internet will you hear about Merps or Eulidians as alien races? Granted some of my ideas aren't new (bounty hunting in space, pirates going for adventure, evil empires to be defeated) yet like many writers and inventors the idea is to make something new out of something that exists already. This is simply my opinion and it's worth about two cents compared to an established author who does this for a living. I would love to publish these stories, but my writings aren't that good. But for now, I'm happy that my stories have only one or two favorites each. And I'm even more happy when someone can see the true idea I'm trying to present, but happiest when someone can determine what my real opinion is. In that sense, I'm like a satirist.

So why write? I'm in college now, so clearly I have better things to do right? Not in the slightest. The most fun I do is play pool and write. I'm not really a social person, but I have no problem being around them. I actually have fun when NERF wars "break out" and the whole lobby is turned into a warzone. But there is more than my apparent lack of social life. I like to write. I love to tell people I write. It's in my words that I shine the greatest. I can state what I can't normally do in free speaking. Unless I think about it for a long time, I have trouble speaking my mind to others. I'd need a written speech to speak like an orator. Making random commments though is easy. But the point is that for me, to write is to enjoy expressing thought in a text form. Now it's hard these days to envoke an emotional response to something not in the form of an image, but I feel that writing shouldn't die into obscurity as a form of expression. But what can I say on the subject? I'm too young to even think anything like that. The young are naive and the old are ignorant to quote an elder of mine.

So, seeing how I have a scanner and I've experimented with year old drawings, I was gonna try making a comic. Nothing too hard, but thought it'd be funny and a good time waster. (since I have so much more important things to do... )

If you'd be expecting something that's... I dunno, good, you should probably give good enough criticism with the first one. This is just an experiment, so I don't wanna start making like ten or so to find y'all not liking the first one. That'd be a waste of everyone's time, and time is precious money.

If y'all are wondering, I didn't find a job. So that sucks. Now, I must focus on some way of saving and conserving money. But, like one of my favorite lyrics from a Fastball song, "there ain't nothing new about money woes, but it's better than it was." Ah well, no worries. I'll figure something out. As for you that don't know, The Adventures of Flint have "ended." Don't expect any new written work for a good while, but I am gonna experiment with my new scanner/printer and maybe post some of my drawings to show y'all just how bad ass I am. And by that, I mean not so hot.

In means of writings, I'm currently working on two. One is the follow-up to The Adventures of Flint. The other is a sort-of seminar in written form on a subject I think many (or few rather )would enjoy. I can cerainly say that recent experiences have truly pushed this idea into fruition (primarily that of my sociology professor.)

Well, as fun as this is, that single reader keeps the flame burning for my writing to display on DA.

So this nice girl recently made a journal for what she wants for Christmas. Since Christmas is three months away and my birthday is two, I figured to combine the two into a wish list. Those who know me know I don't ask for much. Those who don't, read the list and be in awe.

See? SEE?! Since my parents are essentially paying my tuition, I shouldn't ask for anything I don't need. This brings you question "But KA, why do you need these things? Why can't you get a job?" Good questions. Here's the answer to number 1.

In honesty, I want the messenger bag for my birthday so I won't have to bring my Wii home in the original box or leave it there. As for Chrono Trigger, it's a great RPG (greater than that one FF game; y'know the one) and it will be a welcome addition to my small collection. As for clothes and gift cards these are obvious. I can use gift cards at places when I need something and don't wanna spend what little money I have. And clothes, well... let's say I don't wanna wash my laundry every weekend. I don't have that many quarters and wearing the same clothing after a lot of walking in the sun is a turn-off to the ladies.

As for my lack of employment, I am trying to find a work study so my parents don't have to pay a lot more you [insensitive jerk]. Problem is my schedule isn't exactly the best for a workstudy. It is for this reason I may have to cancel it for my fall semester and make my spring semester more work-friendly (this may mean lots of classes in the morning or in the evening). And if I wanted a part-time job, that may cause more problems since I'd have no schedule flexibility and my lack of a car. Let's say I'm worried about the comming week...

Anyways, on a lighter note, my dad is finally getting married this Friday and I'll be a groomsman. Y'know what that means for me... yeah I dunno either.

Okay then, what's new? What is new...? I must update... up-date... yes!

For those of you wondering about The Adventures of Flint (by "you" I mean possibly like two people), I haven't stopped. I have been writing the series and possibly finishing it and will upload these final new chapters later. Yes, Flint's adventures, though they seem to have started so soon ago, is gonna end with a bang, a twist, and a visit to the family's escentric doctor.

As I had mentioned earlier, I will post the epic science fantasy that has influenced all the previous stories once I have run out of ideas. I have a few still left, one of them being a mystery and a sort-of encylopedia with in-depth information on the races and events mentioned throughout the gallery. Some of you with too much time could piece bits together and get a fairly decent idea of the whole series' timeline, though I wouldn't recomend it.

On the college front, I will be moving into my dorm this Wednesday so I'm packing up most of my things. Of these items I'm bringing my Wii because the way I see it, I'd rather it collect dust in my dorm rather than at home where it will see little to no love. I love it.
(little trivia: the official title of the console is the Wii. People who know about Nintendo will say the Nintendo Wii since all previous consoles and handhelds made by them have had the company name. Yes, I'm a nerd. )

So what is planed for the future? Staying alive and afloat is priority two. Surviving is priority one. Maintaining sanity is currently third in my list. Eating is probably somewhere in there... maybe like 2.5 or something? Anyways, I've calmed down a bit. My family is so kind and supportive, being prepared to help me if need be. I've got to be reminded of it though since I'm that sort of person. I also know my friends, some of whom are going through the same thing as me, understand and having a face of someone who's in the same boat as me helps out.

Now if things escalate further, other nations might begin to retaliate. Former Soviet nations may join Georgia and have a coalition force against Russia. Other nations may join Russia. It could erupt to the point where NATO and the US may have to defend themselves against Russia and their allies.

My next set of writings was based in my version of the 31st century: humanity and three other alien societies had essential dominance over the galaxy while facing threats internally and outward. Yet the exploits of a single man, a bounty hunter, was all I focused on. It was cleverly titled "Bounty" and was all about a man name Honda Wolfgang, who came from a sad past and glorious family reputation. At an impressive 40 chapters, it's currently my longest story to date and probably my most popular.

I then went on to another war story, this time set a century after Bounty in an alternate timeline. This, being only 15 chapters long, is not one of my longer stories yet I took a more serious and darker tone with this one. Humans betray their allies and fight a civil war, whole societies being slaughtered and enslaved, and a century long war with little hope in sight. Looking back on it, I can say this was definitely inspired based on Avatar: The Last Airbender. I'm not sad about that though because it's a great piece of animation.

So we come to the present. I'm heading off to college, I'm gonna be a freshman again, and I'll not expect too much free time to go and write stories as I have before. That being said, I'm not stopping my writing. Though calling it a hobby would be insulting, I'm unsure of whether I'd turn it into a career like some other, better writers here. I've come from a senior to a freshman in a year, and already have created three stories. I've come to the conclusion that when I run out of ideas, I'll begin posting the story which started this all and everything will finally be tied together in their happy little universe.
