MY RANTSPACE:
Sooo, currently a lot of things have happened. I'm mostly on the happy side but my computer crashed recently so that makes me feel... sad to a degree.

Recently, my pen tablet broke and the day before yesterday my laptop decided that it won't turn on - not even in Safe Mode.. DX Thankfully I have a new Wacom bamboo pen tablet now!!

So I had to reinstall windows (in the process losing almost everything on my laptop) and luckily my major stuff/school work was on my memory stick... which somehow survived the wash.

One thing led to another and I don't have CS3, Corel, Flash, Microsoft office.. anything anymore. SO if you can, PLEASE PLEASE FAVE MY 'Good vs Evil' Contest Entry!!!! THEN I CAN GET CS4 AND NOT BE SO BAD OFF.

1 = I aspire to write a book. I've already proceeded in my venture, but I've put it aside for now as I have lots of homework to do. And.. this is my last year of high school so I've averted my focus for now.

2 = I'm a South African. (Not that you'd be able to tell if you met me. I look and sound like a New Zealander. )

3 = I have an affinity with the colour red even though my favourite colour is purple. For example, I have red carpet, a red school bag, a really nice shiny-red coat and also a _fake red leather jacket. There's other things but.. I don't want to bore you.

4 = I'm lazy. I can do things well, do all my homework and do them in a short amount of time - I just choose to watch anime and manga and laze about - until this year that is. If you ask other people I know, you'll see that I can be, somewhat, motivated when I need to be.

5 = I'm planning on studying art and becoming an art teacher next year. (And no it won't ALL happen next year. )

6 = I'm an introvert. Not a complete introvert but I like my alone time... it recharges me.
After that I can talk non-stop about any random topic - as per usual. :3

7 = I dressed up as a MIB (Men in Black) agent for church today. I really don't wanna change. I look schnazzy. I just wish my shoutboard was as schnazzy...

8 = I like playing/singing music. I like singing the most. I'm not the best but I can sing better than I can play the piano or the guitar. I also know a bit on the drums but not a lot. I'm listening to a lot of Barlowgirl lately.

This Christmas was my best one yet! it's true that giving is better than recieving. That's because this Christmas was different from all the rest. Because everyone had been getting expensive -but much-needed stuff- throughout the year.. we really couldn't afford extravagantly expensive gifts soo everyone in my family had a budget of $10 per person and we went to the mall and split up in pairs to shop for everyone else.

Now you're probably thinking '$10!!! eek!' But we were allowed to pool money between us so that if we found something we liked for someone we could share money and get it for them.

In the end it was really amazing to see how well we all knew each other. I had no clue what I wanted for myself -especially around the $10 mark.. but I ended up getting some awesome stuff.

I could stare at this for hours.

Well... anyway. (prying my eyes away from my profile..) There was this stray dog with no collar that came and sat outside our door for ages. He eventually started following me around everywhere when I went out to pet him.

So I kinda had a pet dog for a couple of hours. Before it started barking an running around a lot in a hyper fashion. It was more of a puppy then a dog. It ran away after I got freaked out and ran away.
It was fun before that though. It was sooo cute. And it listened to me.

dA ART UPDATE:

Now first things first. I'm gonna do my best and I'm going to do a complete overhaul of my deviantart page. So on my 'to do' list is:

1. Upload decent art. A lot of my stuff on here is old and I can do soo much better. This is already underway.
2. Fix up my manga. I got lazy and started drawing badly after the 6th page. I'll get as much done as possible as I am currently on holiday.
3. Journal Enhancements. One reason why a subscription is awesome. No more plain journals.
4. Css folders and stuff. (Once I figure out how to do that. >.> )

PERSONAL LIFE UPDATE:

Today I've had 2 lots of dessert (with 2 servings for one!) and a Memphis Meltdown. Actually I'm busy eating the Memphis Meltdown now!! XD

In all fairness I've got a reason to celebrate... (ie. getting the subscription.) but I normally wouldn't go this far. I've done heaps of exercise this week so this won't set me back one bit! >

On thursday I walked like 4 or 5km and then went biking with my friend, played kickball and fort dodgeball at her church and completely grazed my toe to no end. I went up to kick 4 times in kickball and as luck would have it, I got 4 homeruns!! (Now, I'm never that good so I was -and am still- really ecstatic about it.)

Then the next day I walked like 5 and a half km.. so yeah, I think you can kind of understand my week. I'm not even going to talk about yesterday or today.. XD or the reason why I happened to get to lots of dessert.

COMPETITION TIME:

As all of you watch me know I've recently been offering free art as a prize if you do or answer something correctly when responding to my journal.

Last week was a treasure hunt and I wanted you to find the answer to a joke. As you see at the top of my journal the result...

Now I may as well tell you the joke. The one about the pirate who lost his leg, arm and eye. (Imagine this in an Irish accent because the person who first told me it did it in an Irish accent. Also excuse my retelling because it's nowhere near as good.)

Now, thar once was a pirate, n' like all pirates 'e was pretty beat up. This 'ere pirate lost 'is leg, 'is arm and 'is eye.

Then one day, 'e walked inta a bar and the bartender tried t' talk t' him. 'e asked the pirate wat happened t' his 'ere leg.

'Argh. This 'ere leg got blown off by a cannon, Argh!'

Now the bartender just a happened t' realise the conversation was gettin nowhere so 'e asked about the pirates arm.

'Argh. This 'ere arm got chopped off in a swordfight, Argh!'

In a last-ditch attempt t' start a conversation the bartender asked 'bout the pirate's eye.

'Argh. This 'ere was because a gull did 'is business in my eye.'

The bartender raised 'is eyebrow.

'It twas the first day wiv my hook' the pirate laughed. 'Argh!'

Okay so I have to go back to return some textbooks today, but I'll probably only be there for a half an hour at most. (And I'll be in mufti so it won't be too bad.)

Recently my parents have been bugging me to get my license. Which is good because I'm now 17 and I could have gotten it 2 years ago.. and if I get it now at least I'll have my full by my first year of uni.

So.. even though my exams are over and technically my studying is over, I have to study for that. But that's alright. We're getting a new car too so chances are I'll either end up with the new car... (plz! plz! It's got a CD player and a good radio/ sound system!) or my Mom's car -which is not bad or old. (free car!)
So as of June next year, I'll be on the roads.. *shock, horror!*

Oh yeah.. It was my second dAnniversary not so long ago. XD (It's actually my first because it took me a WHOLE year after I'd signed up to do anything on here. ) I signed in on the 22nd and normally I don't care too much about pageviews.. (I care more about how many views my deviations get. XD) but I was laughing because my pageviews were 4,444!! I even have a special dAnniversary screenshot to prove it. [link]

Some good news from me.. My cousins are moving over to NZ!! This is good news because at first it was just my immediate family that came, then my grandparents came two years later, then my Mom's cousins came last year and the beginning of this year my cousins are coming! I haven't seen them in 9 years.. and I honestly don't know much at all about my extended family.


Maybe we can have a family reunion for once.

You know what's cool?! I got a camera for my birthday. It's a digital SLR and it's really expensive. It was incredibly expensive. Watch out for a couple of photo's as I test it out. (I'm still an anime artist at heart -but who wouldn't want to use a 14 megapixel SLR camera if they get one?)

Reason I haven’t been updating: My practice exams just finished and we’re having a two-week break/holiday before the last few weeks of school and then final exams. Wait till November and I’ll be continuing my manga because by then my final exams will be over and I’m on holidays. Also I’ve got heaps of things I want to do for it.

I’m really looking forward to getting art stuff done. I don’t have very much time to do it and if I do have some time on hand I have to confess, I tend to read or watch anime in my free time.

1. I went to my friends youth group and they had a whole lot of Americans visiting. We played kickball and dodgeball.
It was my first time playing kickball. Ever!!
I also found out that Americans are really nice.
We also talked a lot!! An interesting conversation I had with them was about jandals. XD

2. I was wanting to buy photoshop and a laptop and voila... there's this laptop with photoshop cs3 going on an auction.
It also has macromedia studio 8, Corel draw, Microsoft Office etc... and guess what I got it for? $500!!!!
I was wanting one but I didn't want to pay back a loan from my parents so this was just perfect!!! I only have $521 so I still have $21 left over.
This means I can actually submit more things more often too, as well as get all my schoolwork done 10x faster!!!

1. On Mondays instead of going to school I work at the local kindy. (I'm not wagging school... this is a government funded course where one day a week for twelve weeks I get to do work experience instead of going to school. I chose to look after the little kids )

6. I'm a very very huggy person. If you know me well enough you would be aware of this fact. I tend to be calm and collected around people. Those who know me really well know that I'm very childish and huggy. Otherwise I'm pretty tense when it comes to touching people. The most I do is poke people in the arm if I want their attention.

Basically I was half-blind since last friday evening and in hospital for a week due to a severe infection in one of my eyes, possibly due to problematic contact lenses. DX

It took me a few days to be able to focus with one eye without the other one throbbing in pain from light sesitivity. DX Then it took me some time to get used to the strain of using only one eye. Using one eye was just tiring.

So anything art related or requiring to much concentration irked me. Though I did a lot of crosswords... before I got used to using my other eye my parents just called out the clues for me.

So I'll probably be off school until Tuesday unless something really bad happens.

if I hadn't gone to get my eye seen to... I could have been half-blind by now. Sans one eye.

Altogether there was about 3500 people at the camp. So what did we get up to, you might ask? Other than jumping in the mud pit. XD
-We had this thing called Tribal wars!!! Basically we were split up in 3 large tribes. I made a little map of the pavilion below and I'll explain what everything is: XD

I was in Ballstars. We had really crazy competitions. We strapped 4 people from each tribe to mattress and We had to get the people to mattress surf up and down the bleachers. Same principles as stage diving. We won that one.

-There was another one where we harnessed someone from each tribe and gave them a whole bunch of milk crates. You know those blue or red ones. XD The person harnessed must stack them and climb them without touching the ground. The rest of the tribes job is to hand the person the crates.
All the other tribes had these incredibly long poles. We didn't have one so we borrowed a small pole from these guys dressed up as spartans which was around 2m long. Everyone elses poles was 6 or 7m. Of course we were disgruntled so everyone started chanting: "Where's our pole" Over and over again. (Even after the game. )
We just lost by a few crates. It's cool that we didn't get ours to overbalance even with the huge disadvantage. People were on other peoples shoulders. It was so much fun to watch. We asked for a revote but the judges were biased. ^^ Still fun tho.

-We had ninjas. If you find one. The first thing you should do is be careful. Then you sneak up on them, then you pounce and try to capture them!!!

-Now you see all the *'s on the map I drew. (typed? XD) That whole floor area was full and was a decent mosh pit when any bands were playing.

-We also had an 80's disco where everyone was wearing fluoro. I kept losing my friends in conga lines. Once everyone in front of me left the line and everyone behind me thought it was still going so they carried on following me. I managed to ditch them by jumping up onto the bleachers and then finding my friends again. It happened more then once. The last time it happened I got really lost and decided to leave and go back to our campsite. I couldn't resist stopping at the 'Acoustics under the Stars' outdoor concert thingy where people who play the guitar get up and show people songs they wrote. After that -I went back to my campsite.

-My youth group won the soccer tournament. XD
Our motto was:
"We're back to the old rotation.
We're gonna kick some butt!!"
(We had two rotations. XD)
When this guy, Sam, scored the winning goal EVERYONE ran up to dogpile him. I was the first to overbalance though and then everyone else overbalanced. Funnily enough in my direction. DX So I was at the bottom of the dogpile and I have scratches down my back to prove it. (There was also other sports but we only entered soccer!!)

-They also had huge blow up castles. You know that mechanical bull thing. We had a surfboard version of that.

So yeah... Easter Camp. It's a Christian camp. I went with my Youth Group. There was only 17 of us in my youth group but some groups had invited heaps of people: like Mt.Roskill and Hillsborough had over a 100 people each. (They're nowhere near that huge. (TRUE) Funny story of the journal:

My pastor was going to Vietnam (I think that's where he said he went?) for some international conferences and at the airport decided to start a conversation with the girl standing in the line in front of him. He said she looked around his eldest daughter's age. So in their conversation he mentioned that he was going to some conferences and asked her what she was doing there. She said that she was entertaining. They didn't say much else but before she left my pastor said 'Happy Entertaining' and she replied 'Happy Conferencing'.

After this is the actual funny part btw. This big, burly guy walked up to her and asked her what she was talking about and she answered that they were talking about why they were there. After they left the guy behind my pastor said 'You do know who you were just talking to?' and my pastor replied 'No. Who?'

'Hilary Duff.' My pastor ended up ringing his daughters to ask who that was and now jokes that he is good friends with Hilary Duff.

MY REASON FOR NOT UPDATING:
My first two weeks of school were really busy. It's my second year at the high school I moved to so I decided that I'd be more involved this year. Big Mistake. This year is not like last year. I don't even have the time to draw in class this year. Though we had Athletics Day on Friday so I managed to get some drawing in when I was supposed to be doing events. XD.
Too bad that it started spitting and we weren't allowed indoors so I put it away before my drawing was dripped on because my ink turns brown and blue when wet. XD It's not waterproof.

Thing is.. this year I volunteered to look after the 'little ones' as my friends and I affectionately call them. Our job is to make sure they fit into high school and make friends. (Well that's the job I'm being made to do even though my actual job is to make sure they do their work correctly. I signed up to be an Academic Mentor and I am one but we work with the peer support people and are basically doing their job.)

To bad the 'little ones' are more like 'annoying ones'.

GOOD NEWS: My Braces are coming off. Although the last time I heard that my orthodontist took off the back ones and said that she'll do the rest next time. I really hope that they ALL come off this time.

I said I'd put in funny stories but I have to warn you I'm particularly bad at retelling funny stories and I'm having a bit of a hard time remembering any but I promised and I want my journals to be fun... just like my last one on ONELINERS!!!!

So I'll start with a recent funny story. As recent as last night in fact... I was at a motel with my family and I was sharing a room with my 2 brothers. Now my brothers are notorious for doing stuff in their sleep. (not to mention they're notorious for their snoring too.) Now one of my brothers, the 13 year old one, suddenly yelled out in his sleep 'Don't smash my guitar, YOU DONKEY!!' I couldn't stop laughing!!
Just when I was about to go to sleep I saw this white pillar at the front of the room in the dark though I wasn't too sure cuz it was dark and I got up and looked and guess who it was... my brother. He was sleepwalking and I said to him that he has to go to bed and he said that it was too dark and he didn't know where it is so I moved him in the direction of his bed but he seemed to think my bed was his so I told him it was mine not his and showed him to his actual bed!!
I wouldn't be so nice next time. I should have left him thinking my bed was his and switched beds with him just to surprise him in the morning. XD

This one I found particularly funny but be warned I'm saying this from memory and it might not be the same as the original but the point should still be there. There once was a president of some country and he would often hold banquets and invite upstanding members of society, other world leaders and royalty. Every day he greeted each guests as he should as they came in and they would reply 'It's a pleasure to meet you Mr. President'.
One day the President felt that the usual greeting that was customary for these types of lavish banquets was meaningless and he wanted to greet every guest personally. So when he had his next banquet he tried greeting them all more personally however their response would still be the same. The president was apalled by the lack of reaction so the next time he had a banquet he decided he would say something that will generate some reaction for the guests.
The next banquet arrived and he greeted the first guest with 'I'm planning to kill my wife today.' The guest didn't seem to notice and answered with a 'It's a pleasure to meet you Mr. President' The president continued to say it to all his guests but all of them didn't seem to notice and replied as usual until his last guest who said 'Now, now, Mr. President. I also once thought things like that but if you wait a while she'll self-destruct all by herself.'

I've retold this one so many times it's not funny anymore but I'll say it anyway. Once there was a group of volunteers working together for a good cause in a third-world country. There was 6 of them altogether and they shared a 3x3 room.
One day they asked their manager if they can have more rooms because they were getting cramped. The manager knew that the only money they had was going towards the cause and that the volunteers would complain that they should have more room as a reward for doing so much hard work and that it will improve their work-ethic.
Later on in the day after a lot of thinking the manager smiled. He went to the volunteers and said to them that they have to look after a goat for a family that they were helping and that the goat had to stay with them in their room as it could be stolen if they left it outside. The volunteers looked horrified and were about to object when the manager said to them that he will consider building more rooms if they completed this task.
The first day with the goat the volunteers just beared the extra burden of living with a goat. But very soon complaints started to arise over broken property, the goats toilet habits and the sentiments it had with some of the volunteers hair. Eventually the volunteers couldn't take it any longer and begged the manager to do something about the goat. The manager smiled and said that he'll do something about it.
A week later the manager found that there was an inflow of excess cash and asked the volunteers if they had any requests that he could grant. They were really emotional and said to the manager 'We're so happy as we are but we do have one request. Don't ever accept any more requests about looking after goats.'

I think I'll end the funny stories there. I know there was only 3 but they were long ones and you can survive till next time. (Well next time I decide to do funny stories again anyway.)

Me talking about my dreams section!!

ANY DREAM INTERPRETORS OUT THERE... HAVE A GO AT THIS!!!

I've got the inate ability to remember my dreams like last nights where I was visiting an orphanage with some lady. The orphanage resembled a damp warehouse with wet concrete floors. (Don't ask me why I dream stuff like this!) In the middle of a corridor sits another lady doing work on a school desk. (Somehow I knew she was working hard for the grand opening of the orphanage.)
Then the lady stopped working, grabbed a flashlight and showed me and the lady who was visiting where the pitch black changing rooms were. Which were a lot like the ones you have when you go to the pools and I took a shower. (With my clothes on, funnily enough.) Both ladies left and on the way back I trip over a body. (Somehow it was the orphanage director.)
Then I say to the orphanage worker that I know she knew about the murder but didn't say anything because she wanted the opening to go on without a hitch and then I say to the lady next to me that she is the murderer.

My melodramatic-styled complaining spot:

Summer has finally come in New Zealand!! I thought this was a great thing as I enthusiastically tried to be as active as possible to make up for my terrible year of inactivity. But alas horror after horror is happening preventing me from doing that which I have planned. Oh woe is me who had gotten her shoulders sunburnt to the point that the pain and redness lasted 3 days. Those 3 days went by dreadfully slowly (It also prevented me from getting a decent nights sleep) and I rejoiced in the fact that I could yet again do something that is deemed healthy for the body.

Tennis was exceptionally fun. (not without the slightest of arguements I might add.) Then under my brothers persuasion we left for a shady park to play soccer. Then horror of horrors I land totally wrong when jumping over some old mattress someone left in the park and I twist my ankle. At the time it was incredibly painful, it twas painful but not painful enough to cry, and my dad kindly carried me towards our car. When I got home I was pleased to say it felt much better and I was walking around with only the slightest amount of pain.

And that brings me to my present state of excruciating pain at 3 in the morning I might add. My mistake lies in the fact that not only did I twist my ankle, I walked on it afterwards. Oh and if you did not comprehend on of my previous statements I'll repeat it not only for the sake of my readers but for my own sake. Emphasis is the key. The time as of now is quarter past 3 in the morning and no I did not just wake up, I've been awake since yesterday morning.
(I needed some melodramic complaining time. XD)
BTW still no sympathy from my family when it comes to injuries. It's not like they can do much to help and the complaining will probably make anyone annoyed.

Sakura: EEEH!! Kakashi-sensei overexerted himself and is in the hospital again!!

Sakura: Unfortunately I can't visit him tomorrow. The fifth asked me to go on a special mission for her tomorrow and I have to look after some kids from the academy today.
Naruto: *startled* Nooo.. Without Sakura my plans cannot work. Kakashi-sensei will notice that I...
Sai: *appearing from nowhere* I'll look after the kids and you two can go if you want.
Naruto: Great!! Lets go Sakura! *pulls her along at great speed with dust in their wake*
-Half an hour later-
Naruto: *depressed looking* I didn't get to see Kakashi-sensei without his mask..
Sakura: *slams her fist into the top of Naruto's head* Is that all you can think of right now!! I can't believe you didn't notice that Sai actually volunteered for something!! There has to be an ulterior motive or something.
Naruto: *thoughtful expression* Come to think of it Sai won't ever do anything nice for anyone else...
Sakura: *slams down fist yet again* You only notice that now you baka. Lets go check up on him the class shouldn't have finished yet.
-At the academy-
Sai:... *looks at the door suddenly flying open to reveal an angry sakura and a dazed naruto*
Sakura: *Looks at Sai reading to the kids* huh?
Sai: And that was the story of two ninja's from Konoha. *shuts book quickly*
Little Kid: *taps a dazed Naruto. Naruto snaps out of it.* Can I have your signature onii-san.
Naruto: *confused then smiles* So you're a fan of me, the great ninja of the leaf!
Little Kid: I was right! You are the guy with the small ****. You look just like the picture Sai-sama drew. *shows picture of an idiotic looking Naruto*
Naruto: *blushes and sinks to the ground in a deep depression* Sakura was right. I should have noticed.
Sakura: *sweatdrops and smiles weakly* hehe. It's not that bad. Well.. maybe not for Naruto.
Another Little Kid: Sakura-sensei can I have your autograph too. I didn't notice at first but you look just like the ugly girl Sai-sama was talking about.
Sakura: *Evil Aura surrounding her* You must be mistaken.
Little Kid: *Runs away scared*
Sakura: *smiles evilly in the direction of where Sai was. Evil atmosphere suddenly disappears and her face changes to that of confusion* A-reh? He's gone.

I'm having a little trouble with my next manga page. I find it easier drawing random people then it is to redraw characters.
Especially characters with different expressions and unfortunately the characters are interacting now and I have to introduce the main character... this one is going to take some time. This is the only page that I've actually been sketching for. The rest were just rough plans eg. I draw a stick figure where I want a person and then do the final page straight in pen. (It's not important how random people in the scene turn out.)

I can't seem to get into the Christmas mood. My family's Christmas tree isn't even out and now that I'm older I don't really want cheap toys for Christmas. In fact, I don't really want anything and couldn't care less if all I got for Christmas was black fineliners and Fat Graphic Markers.

Well I guess this is all that I'll write because I really should get updating and drawing. I'm trying hard to not procrastinate on anything anymore. I find that when I don't procrastinate I achieve a lot.

One more thing I have to work on is to always come early and not just on time. My luck will run out one day and I won't magically make it on time to somewhere I really have to be. (I really wonder how I make it to places on time. It's like the clock rewinds a bit and I shrug it off unknowingly.)

Just for entertainments sake I'll tell you some weird things about moi.

-I like to straighten things on my desk out. (So everything fits or is in a line. Everything else can be as disorganised as ever and I won't care.)

-I'm incredibly clumsy. (I was running down the stairs once and forgot that the roof is lower downstairs and ran into the top of the doorframe. It hurt but nobody said anything because I don't have much of a reaction to things like that. Unless you count sulking about how nobody is sympathetic when I hurt myself.)
I once slipped around 4 times in front of a few of the classes in my year level at the time. (All within a 15 minute time period by the way. I'm never going to play volleyball with a giant ball in front of a whole lot of classes in pants that are too long ever again. Everytime that I stepped back to set the ball I stepped on my pants and landed on my butt hard.

-A few things I often find myself saying is 'It's all good', 'I know I'm weird', 'that never happened' (when I trip) and 'sorry' (people don't notice the last one as much unless I've been around them a bit too long.)

As you can tell EXAMS are making me go loopy. I don't do concentration. Well... only on drawings or things that I like anyway. Or playstation games etc. Though I think that playstation games and drawings etc... are just distractions from concentration... hmmm... AAAAAAHHH!! Too much to think about *messes up hair badly* I give up.

So this is my rant at the moment. Hope it's not too boring.

I give up naming the ones I've seen. Pretty up to date on all of them even the manga's though some not so much most of them yes.
