2009 naturally had it's ups and downs, but overall - fantastic :)
I've grown and learned a lot photographically - is that a word? - and I can't wait to see
what 2010 brings. I'm also hoping to branch out more, maybe getting back in Traditional things,
I'd love to get Illustrator back and experient with Typography, and I'm 'recruiting' models, lol

As far as the personal side of 2009 goes, I've turned 20 (shiiiitt...), met and moved in with my
utterly wonderful boyfriend Thorne (yes, that's his real name) and on the 5th, I'm getting my 8th tattoo!

D: The only good thing about this month is that I've got 15 working days left before my workplace breaks out the calendar and celebrates the last day of term. And seeing my family again!

With a few considerations under my belt, I'm still on the lookout for some photography appointments that can be confirmed over the holiday season. Me and my friend Liz have been debating a photoshoot for some time now, but with our working hours it's simply a matter of finding a time we can both turn up for - she works even more awkward hours than I do D:

A new-ish and 'Experimental' artist, this fellow Deviant seems to be a photographer after my own heart. Along with some spectacular scenic landscapes that are thriving with colour and detail, there's the haunting monochromatic Macro images, and these are, of course, what caught my eye.
With the onset of Winter, I can't think of a more appropriate feature :)

Who are you?
I'm Rowenna, a name commonly abbreviated to 'wenna', 'ro', and 'row'. 20 years old, born and bred in England. A lot of you knew me before I moved to Banbury - don't ask me where it is, even I'm not entirely sure - from when I lived down in Sussex with my parents, had terrific insomnia and spent 23 hours a day on this forsaken wonderful site, rambling and webcam-ing the night away with =BlackSatechi (Felix says Hi!)

I have a BTEC National Diploma in Graphic Design and Illustration from Northbrook College in Sussex, naturally Ginger hair, a wonderful boyfriend {} and have a passion for many things, including but not limited to Tesco Value chocolate spread, cigarettes, singing, leather, Harley Davidson and BSA bikes and opera music.

What is your artistic passion?
To be honest, I'm not sure what this means - or rather, should include. The more simple route would be to say Photography; apparently my dad's old film camera was a wee fascination of mine when I was little, and just before I started college, I picked up a crappy little olympus pocket camera, discovered the macro function (and then the super-macro- ohmigosh!) and it's all just kicked off from there.
Graphic design (particularly Typography) is another passion, but since losing Illustrator off the computer it's dimished somewhat.

Why did you get into art?
...why not?
Seriously, I really don't know. I'm naturally creative, was always getting in trouble at school for doodling all over my text books, scribbling 'tattoo's' on my friends during the lunch break, and so when I left school, going for an art-related college course just seemed the way to go.

How do you inspire yourself?
Lately, inspirations been running extremely low due to me working evening shifts - lack of energy has never done wonders for it - and the fact that I'm waking up in the middle of a large town, rather than on the brink of the countryside, which was 99% of my inspiration before I relocated.
Anything can inspire me though; anything as deep as human emotion, to the spider I've just splatted with a magazine.

Where would you like to see yourself in 5 years?
Photography has never really appealed to me professionally, so I'm not sure what career I'll end up with, and at just 20, I'll admit I'm willing to experiment a bit.
I'm going to go something extremely corny, and apologise to you all for this;

My photography's been getting a wee bit of attention in the past few weeks, and I could be doing the following within the next year;(but nothing is definitely i'm-GOING-to-do-this-look-at-me-i'm-innnn! confirmed, so take the following pinpoints lightly! D:)

Â Working with my boyfriend's band - as in, the band that my boyfriend is in, not HIS band - on the artwork for their upcoming LP.

Â Photoshoot with the aforementioned band.

Â Well, this one is definitely confirmed, we just need to get the right conditions and it needs to be finished before I can do anything, but..I'm going to be getting up, close and personal with my boyfriends Ford Escort(or..not so close, because I'll be whipping out my wideangle and he'll be taking on the local corners at speeds exceeding 70mph and then I'll probably be doing a spectacular-rally-photographer-esque--leap-into-the-bushes.)

Â Possible publicity shots for the new (we're looking at 6+ months.) premises of a friends home business. At least, that's what I managed to get out of him at the bus stop yesterday.

This holiday was strictly pleasure. In fact, I didn't take any photos. The film canisters contain images from Portland Bill, not Oxford. I'd apologise, but fuck it, I enjoyed myself.

As tempting as it is to delete everything and move to another site, I really, REALLY love this place. Opening the program? Easy, they can handle that, but ask them to do anything else and PFF, they don't want to know...BUT it's ok, because I have them on MY computer, and they're just..bloody fine. I'm just miffed, 'cos the 'family' computer is the center of the households photography..stuff..

Apart from that, there's..really nothing to mention..weather's too hot..way too hot..hot hot hot D: and I'm sure anyone else situated in the local vicinity will agree with me

I mean, really, wow! The number of artists and spectators on here never fail to amaze me, especially when it comes to commenting!

Another huge thankyou to `equivoque and ^hellfirediva
for the DD, and naturally, a huge thankyou to those who faved & commented, even those who didn't agree that it should even be online ;D

One or two deviants don't agree with the photograph, one going so far
as to indicate that I shouldn't really have uploaded it in the first place,
(and that's fair enough!) - but honestly!
What am I supposed to do, sprout wings and fly after the butterfly to study it in mid-air?!
Studying the deceased is not only safer, comforting way of going about it,
but it's also much more stress-free for a dead insect than a live one. Photographing it is a way to show other's the detail, and sometimes beauty, of such a study.

I'll update soon with yet another feature ;)

Maybe you passed in a Scientific area, or you passed through a Graphic Design course?
Does it relate to the works you upload here, or is it to progress in another aspect of your life?

For instance, when I failed to pass entrance requirements to a local Art and Design course, I found myself accepting an offer for a Graphic Design & Illustration course at Northbrook College in Worthing - much more stressful, but despite my apparent lack of enthusiasm, I really enjoyed the course and the college itself - (the exploding corridor!) - and although it doesn't directly relate to my Photography, various tutors helped me shape my photography, and I learnt a lot :)

So, your various educational journeys - tell me all about them, or if you're self-taught, tell me all about that!
