But, on a lighter note... You even see that 13 Ghosts movie from 2001? What an afwul movie. o_O I mean, really... Ugh.

Speaking of which, I got around to seeing 300... It was pretty and that's about it. The characters reeeeeally could have used more depth, especially since it's loosely based on a historical event. Miller could have taken those liberties and added some depth to the characters, yeah? Oh, well... There was a Vincent Price marathon on the classic movie channel, so that washed away the bad.

So, I'll save you a continued dissection of the good and bad of Pirates 3 and dive right into the decision of whether or not to get Dawn of Mana.

So, if ya know me, I am a loyal fan of the Mana, or Seiken Densetsu series. I played the old games, and the ROMS of the games that didn't come here. The beauty of the Mana series is the storyline. The charactars always have their own, unique backgrounds and personalities. The protagonist's personality was sacrificed in Legend of Mana, so it would be as if the player was the one carrying out the tasks as the plot and characters unfolded in front of them. Simply put, Legend of Mana is a wonderfully developed game with many different story arcs, all with endearing characters.

Character development was sacrificed a bit with Sword of Mana, where slowly but surely, the series began to digress into a dungeon crawler. *Sigh* It looked like the death of my favorite series. But, maybe there was hope...

I was wrong. Children of Mana was released last year, which I bought, hoping for my favorite series to come back. That was hoping for too much. Even more character development was sacrificed, as was plot. The return of a Flammie was a nice nod towards the previous games (they were only mentioned in LoM), but it wasn't enough. Where was the, um, plot? Not to mention that the series was now even more of a dungeon crawler and in addition to that, a grind fest.

This is not what the Mana series is. So, from the previous two installments, I'm feeling apprehensive about this new one. I may just rent it, if anything. Heroes of Mana, on the other hand... That might rake in the plot.

So, earlier on today, I saw the midnight show of PoTC3. =3 I'm a huge fan of the first Pirates movie, but not so much the second one, which was rather long, with plenty of stretches of nothing happening. Well, the third movie is like a sibling to the second one, only with even fewer action scenes in it. ^_^

It wasn't a horrible movie, but...Let's just say, like the second one, I won't watch it again.

In spite of the 2+ hours the movie ran for, when the credits began to roll, I felt unsatisfied. Was that really it? There should have been more happening. Couldn't they have put some scenes that should have been there in any of all the long, boring stretches of nothing happening? There were characters that needed more interaction because of what had been built up in the second movie. However, these characters hardly even spoke to each other throughout the entire film. Giving what had happened in PotC2, this should have been different.

Honestly, Disney should have left it at the first movie. It tied together all of the open ends, it wasn't long and boring, and on top of that, it made me very happy. It could have been left as it is because the second and third movies are connected to each other, rather than the first movie. I just didn't feel anything for or care about any of the characters in this film because of the overlapping plots. Jack could have died and I would have just been like "Well, isn't that a shame. Oh, well. Can't say he never tried."

But, you know Disney. =/ They come out with one hit and figure that they have to reap all they can from it.

Ah, but the Transformers trailer showed before the movie. X3 I didn't hear any of them talk in the trailer, which worries me, but...We'll see. Maybe they'll talk.

So I have to write this essay explaining a certain concept in The Fountainhead, by Ayn Rand. The minimum amount of words is 800, which I already have half of, but I really don't feel like writing it, and without any posts to respond to on Abiditi, or and Spuds to bother about getting an application done, I'm turning to this journal.

The essay is actually stupidly easy, but The Fountainhead.... To be blunt, it's terrible. I know a lot of my friends liked it, but I can't stand it at all. It's just...GRRRR.
