well, i was wondering you oldies there would remember these old popular groups/songs!
well, i'm not too old myself. but i remember these groups when i was itsy-bitsy

They've been around for a while actually! since 1997, can you believe it?! but their members kept changing and the only orignal member right now is the girl vocalist. Lately There's ONE drama that everyone is addicted to as a LOTT of people say!!
and it's ê½ë³´ë¤ ë¨ì [Boys over Flowers]!!! [it's a new one, it started this month!]

i really like it too xD;; there's a japanese version too. I haven't watched it yet, so i dont know which is better..

It's Summer!! Which means that a lot of us are going on vacations to rest up for more school/work~

(Look at the reference for help on pronunciation. I will post a quick lesson on how to pronounce, but mean while, you can try to figure it out yourself if you can.)

Characters:
ì ì (Sun-Young) 16 year old girl. Korean.
ì¬í (Jae-Hoon) 17 year old boy. Korean.
Clair 16 year old girl. American.
Jordon 18 year old boy. Canadian.

June.30th Summer Break

Clair and Jordon arrive at the Korean National Airport. Sun-Young and Jae-Hoon has promised to be their guide for their trip around Korea.

KOREAN:
Clair: ì- íêµì ì ë§ ë¥ë¤!
Jordon: ì. ê²¨ì¸ì êµì¥í ì¶ì..

ENGLISH:
Clair: Woah- Korea is very hot!
Jordon: Yup. The winter is really cold..

In this dialogue, you can tell that Clair is new to Korea, but Jordon has been to Korea in Winter time.

vocab
Clair says:
ì- (Wah-) which is said as an Exclamation like WOW or WOAH. It doesnt sound like wah as if a baby cries, but like what with out the t. So basically Wha-
íêµ (Han-Gook) [noun] : Korea.
ì ë§ (Jung-Mal) [adverb] really very truly. Usually this can mean truth in another case.
ë¥ë¤ (Dup-Da) [verb] means its hot temperature/weather-wise. This would NOT be indicated for spicy or really hot/burning thing.

Jordon says:
ì. (Eung) Yup Yeah. A reply for yes in a NOT formal way. You wouldnt say ì to an adult or a person of higher status than you are as it is considered rude.
ê²¨ì¸ (Gyuh-Wool) [noun] means winter.
êµì¥í (Gweng-Jang-Hee) [adverb] is magnificently very. You can switch êµì¥í and ì ë§in the dialogue and it wouldnt do anything to the meaning of the sentence.
ì¶ì (Choo-Wuh) [verb] its cold

You can sometimes use verbs as sentences.
For example, ë¥ë¤ can be used to say Its hot and ì¶ì can be used to say Its cold.

You noticed that Clair and Jordon said ì after íêµ and ê²¨ì¸ which are both nouns.
The ì is used as is am are etc.. Its hard to describe. Does anyone know what the word for this is?? Haha..
For people who know Japanese. It would be the ã¯ as in ãããã¯ã

*Adding ì (yo) behind each sentences will make it formal.

The verbs in Korean, such as Hot and Cold has multiple forms.. Let me give you an example.
ë¥ë¤ (Dup-Da) Hot
ëì (Duh-Woom) Hot-ness
ëì (Duh-Wuh) Its hot
ëìì (Duh-Wuh-Yo) Its hot (formal)

ì¶¥ë¤ (Choop-Da) -Cold
ì¶ì (Choo-Woom) Cold-ness
ì¶ì (Choo-Wuh) Its cold
ì¶ìì (Choo-Wuh-Yo) Its cold (Formal)

There are more versions, but these are the most commonly used ones. Do you kind of get the pattern?

Currently, we have 11 excellent members!!

Since we've reached 10 members and up, I guess we're starting the Hangul Project!!
Except.. I don't know where to start!!
In the main page, I have the Korean Alphabets written down with the pronounciation ^^

Soo.... now I've decided that for the HanGul Project, I will give you ONE Korean word or a phrase. You guys can make a really simple sentence out of it and submit it to me once we get a few grammar thing cleared up ^^ < not TOO hard ^^

Do you have a Korean, watched a Korean drama, or have Koreans al around you?
Then you must have heard them saying "An Nyung Ha Seh Yo" or "An Nyung"
This means "Hello" or "Hi"

"An Nyung Ha Seh Yo" is a formal greeting. This is used to people of higher rank than the person speaking. Such as to: your parents, grandparents, customers, people older than you, strangers etc..

"An Nyung" is basically the same thing (hi), except you will use it to your friends or people you don't have to respect such as your bro.sis, people younger than you.

"An Nyung Ha Seh Yo" = ìëíì¸ì
"An Nyung" = ìë
