The World is not shaped like a sphere, but rather it is a flat disc. In the center of the World is an island (or continent?) called Saliska, which is where the Saliskans live. It is surrounded by an ocean and this ocean is surrounded by a sort of "land barracade" that prevents the water from flowing off of the edge of the world. The World is hundreds of miles across, perhaps even more than a thousand, but it is much smaller than Earth.

Unlike in our Universe, there is a universal sense of "down" and gravity always pulls you down. Below the World there is an abyss called Oblivion which is literally bottomless. If you fall into Oblivion, you just keep falling and falling forever (you'd eventually die from thirst, starvation or hypothermia, of course). So basically, if you travel to the edge of the World, you can fall off (as was once thought to be possible back in earlier days here on Earth). The further you fall into Oblivion, the colder and darker it gets as well because you get further from the Sun.

Also, there is air everywhere. There is no "outer space". The air also has a constant pressure everywhere, so when you travel to higher altitudes, you can still breathe just as well. In theory, you could ride a hot air balloon to the stars. Well, maybe. I haven't decided just how far away (or how large) the stars are from the World itself.

Now then, here is where I have different possible avenues for creativity. I was imagining that perhaps the World itself is motionless and that the Sun and the Moon orbit around it (again, hearkening back to early Earthly theories). However, I had another idea which might prove more original. I was thinking perhaps that the Sun would remain motionless in the sky above the World. Instead of setting, it would dim until it was the brightness of the full Moon, thus allowing the cycle of day and night by brightening and dimming over a 24 hour period. In this way, the Sun and the Moon are one and the same object. Which sounds better to you? The Sun and Moon are different and orbit the World, or they are the same and simply brighten and dim over time?

I mentioned the stars earlier. I have decided that they are fixed in the sky. What I haven't figured out is how far away they are, how large they are, or even if they are hot (maybe they give off cold light like fireflies?). Should they be made of some solid material that can be handled and brought back to the World for some interesting purpose? Should the Sun be just another star or should it be something different altogether? Might there be other worlds out there, much as there are other planets in our universe?

I'm holding a contest.

I've been interested in aircraft for a while, so the theme of this contest is aircraft. The goal of this contest is to combine two different aircraft of your choice into a single design. You can be conservative (combine a Boeing F-15 Eagle ([link]) with a Boeing F/A-18 Hornet ([link])), more daring (combine a Mitsubishi A6M Zero ([link]) with a Vickers-Armstrongs Valiant ([link])), or completely extravagant (combine a Mil Mi-12 "Homer" ([link]) with the LZ 129 Hindenberg ([link])).

You can use blimps, helicopters, jets, and other such things but do not use spacecraft (No Space Shuttle or Saturn V). Make sure that you are specific about the types that you are combining (don't just say "I mixed a blimp and jet"). You would have to combine a specific type of blimp with a specific type of jet. Also make sure that the two aircraft that you combine are not already too similar (such as an F-15A and an F-15E).

The artwork can take the form of a schematic, a perspective drawing, or an action shot. It can be done in traditional or digital media. It can also either be a two-dimensional drawing or a three-dimensional model.

There will be 5 winners based on the quality of the art, the amount of effort that appears to have been put into it, and how well the two aircraft are meshed together into a single design. Each winner will get a free request from me (be it an animated avatar, drawn art, or whatever I'll be willing to do). The due date for your contest submissions will be November 1, 2008.

*Schematic of original fighter jet - I'd like to do a high-quality, color diagram of a stealthy, air-superiority fighter of my own design. It'll take a lot of work if I decide to do it.

*Concept art of Fisi, Kesho, and adult Asante - These obscure, semi-official Lion King characters were, as far as I know, never given official designs by Disney. I'd like to give them some.

*Other sapientspawn - Just as my character Dusk is a sapientspawn (the 40th one by birth, to be exact), there are plenty of others that I'd like draw (43 in total). I've already got some names like Dawn, Redline, and Caldera picked out, as well as some conceptual designs.

What do you consider art theft? If a person uses one of your pictures without your permission, do you consider that to be theft? I doubt I'm like most people, because I actually enjoy it when I see other people using my artwork. Even if they didn't credit the artwork to me, or even if they didn't ask me, I don't have any problems with it. For example, I've seen my "Super Orichalcum" picture posted on Youtube as "Super Espio". Nobody made claims to it, so I don't have a problem with that kind of usage.

What I do have a problem with is when people take my artwork and then claim to have made it themselves. Fortunately, I have only seen one instance of this for my artwork (my "Neo Metal Knuckles" picture). Because of this, I've start to watermark my artwork now.

I would like you to know that I almost always have the screenname of "Kryptid" anywhere on the Internet. In the past, I've also had screennames like Supercryptid, Tatzelwurm, Erythargentum, or Erythrargyrum. That means that if you see any of my artwork uploaded by people with screennames other than these, then it is most likely not me. If you see anyone who claims to have made my artwork, please report them to me as soon as you can. Take notice that I only want to know if someone is taking credit for my art, not simply using it.

"I was walking around in a Target store, when I saw a Cashier hand this little boy some money back.



The boy couldn't have been more than 5 or 6 years old.



The Cashier said, 'I'm sorry, but you don't have enough money to buy this doll.'



Then the little boy turned to the old woman next to him: ''Granny,

are you sure I don't have enough money?''



The old lady replied: ''You know that you don't have enough money to buy this doll, my dear.''



Then she asked him to stay there for just 5 minutes while she went to look a round. She left quickly.



The little boy was still holding the doll in his hand.



Finally, I walked toward him and I asked him who he wished to give this doll to.



'It's the doll that my sister loved most and wanted so much for Christmas.



She was sure that Santa Claus would bring it to her.'



I replied to him that maybe Santa Claus would bring it to her after all, and not to worry.



But he replied to me sadly. 'No, Santa Claus can't bring it to her where she is now. I have to give the doll to my mommy so that she can give it to my sister when she goes there.'



His eyes were so sad while saying this. 'My Sister has gone to be with God. Daddy says that Mommy is going to see God very soon too, so I thought that she could take the doll with her to give it to my sister.''



My heart nearly stopped.



The little boy looked up at me and said: 'I told daddy to tell mommy not to go yet. I need her to wait until I come back from the mall.'



Then he showed me a very nice photo of him where he was laughing. He then told me 'I want mommy to take my picture with her so she won't forget me.'



'I love my mommy and I wish she doesn't have to leave me, but daddy says that she has to go to be with my little sister.'



Then he looked again at the doll with sad eyes, very quietly.



I quickly reached for my wallet and said to the boy. 'Suppose we check again, just in case you do have enough money for the doll?''



'OK' he said, 'I hope I do have enough.' I added some of my money to his with out him seeing and we started to count it. There was enough for the doll and even some spare money.



The little boy said: 'Thank you God for giving me enough money!'



Then he looked at me and added, 'I asked last night before I went to sleep for God to make sure I had enough money to buy this doll, so that mommy could give It to my sister. He heard me!''



'I also wanted to have enough money to buy a white rose for my mommy, but I didn't dare to ask God for too much. But He gave me enough to buy the doll and a white rose.''



'My mommy loves white roses.'



A few minutes later, the old lady returned and I left with my basket.



I finished my shopping in a totally different state from when I started.



I couldn't get the little boy out of my mind.



Then I remembered a local news paper article two days ago, which mentioned a drunk man in a truck, who hit a car occupied by a young

woman and a little girl.



The little girl died right away, and the mother was left in a critical

state. The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the

life-sustaining machine, because the young woman would not be able to recover from the coma.



Was this the family of the little boy?



Two days after this encounter with the little boy, I read in the news paper that the young woman had passed away.



I couldn't stop myself as I bought a bunch of white roses and I went to the funeral home where the body of the young woman was exposed for people to see and make last wishes before her burial.



She was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest.



I left the place, teary-eyed, feeling that my life had been changed for ever.. The love that the little boy had for his mother and his sister is still, to this day, hard to imagine.



And in a fraction of a second, a drunk driver had taken all this away from him.

What type of subject matter should I base a print on that you would be willing to purchase? I can definitely draw animals. Or perhaps a space scene. I obviously can't sell things that are copyrighted, such as artwork of Sonic the Hedgehog.

So what ideas for prints do you think would be popular for deviantART?

Okay, I can understand why the sprites of Flair the Hedgehog were removed. They were just a modification of some Shadow sprites. Perhaps that did in fact violate some of the rules on DeviantART.

However, all of the sprites of Nazo the Hedgehog were created entirely by me. I did not create those Nazo sprites by modifying existing sprites; they are 100% custom-made.

You removed Nazo Glowing, Nazo Blasting, and Request: DELL35211 on the assumption that they were either ripped sprites from a game or modifications thereof. They were not. Next time, please ask if they are or not instead of jumping to conclusions. The same thing goes for my custom-made Archie Mecha Sonic sprites, so please don't remove them.

We brought him home, and he was so weak. His tongue was almost gray and he had lost a lot of weight.

I watched him die. I've been crying on-and-off ever since then.

Tiger wasn't just a pet; he was a member of my family. He was so friendly and loving. Everyone in my house loved him, too.

His sister lives on, and I hope she doesn't die for a long time. She's the last housecat we have left.

For all of you that believe in God, I ask that you'll pray for my family and I to help us get through this time of heartache.

Thankfully, this Spring Break I seem pretty well off, although I was also sick nearly a week ago. I threw up literally 10 times before I started feeling better. It's good for me that THAT illness only lasted about 3 days.

The fan characters that I generally did not include in this study had the following characteristics: (1) I was unable to determine its species, (2) It was human, (3) I was unable to determine at first glance whether or not it was actually a Sonic character, (4) It was a joke/sattire character, (5) It was meant to be another character made into the Sonic character style, (6) It was simply a new form or upgrade of an already existing Sonic character, (7) It was merely an attempt to create the Deviant in Sonic character form.

According to what I've read, that location was, for a period of time, infested to the brim with an incredible diversity of paranormal activity. The family that purchased the property noticed unusual events from day 1. The bizarre testimonies of the family and their guests include experiences with a nearly bullet-proof wolf, floating globes of blue liquid, bigfoot-like creatures, cattle mutilations, UFOs, portals, a nearly invisible apparition that roared, dark figures at the windows at night, a massive black entity, circles of ice on the ground, spontaneously-disappearing cattle, and the unexplained packing of 4 bulls into a trailer.

Eventually, the family sold the property to the NIDS scientific organization. It is currently owned by that group and is private property. The members of that organizations have also experienced paranormal events, but there has been a steady decline of them over time.

Anyone who is even remotely interested in the supernatural or paranormal should definitely read into this story.

I've heard people insinuate that he had it coming to him, but the guy only tried to help animals. He wasn't hurting them. Even when he was handling snakes, he often used a method that put the snakes at minimal discomfort. He took risks, but he knew what he was doing.

I'm sure that stingrays are going to be looked down upon now, but Steve wouldn't want us to hate them. I'm sure that he wouldn't hold any malice towards the stingray that killed him. He's just that kind of guy.
