Computer Dolls
For my watchers I have an offer to make. If you have Adobe Photoshop I can make for you a computer doll of your favorite character. What is a computer doll? Think of them like a paper doll; you have the basic figure and cut paper clothes and dress them up. A computer doll functions the same way, only you have A LOT more versatility. Instead of just changing clothes, you can change their hair, eyes, mouth, tail (if needs be), and, most important of all, their clothes! Just reference the computer dolls in my gallery for comparison.
So my friends, if you are interested, I can make for you a computer doll, along with a few basic accessories (eyes, hair, and two pairs of clothes). The nice part is, YOU can make up your own new accessories to go with it! You can see what colors go well with your character, or what styles look good. It's a nice way to be creative with fashion, see what combination you can come up with, and well, it's just a lot of fun dressing up YOUR OWN character/s! Note me for any questions.

Well it's December, and it's time to get started on the 2010 group picture. This year's theme I've decided will be MIA/KIA. Many of my beloved characters have been killed or have turned up missing. This will commemorate those who were lost. This idea has been on the back burner for 7 years, I think it's time I did it. Next year will be the creature feature... sorry Moonfeather.

Oh, we love it! And room, room, room! Don’t get me wrong, I loved our old 1 bedroom place but it was too small for all our stuff, it was too cramped. Now we live in 2 bedroom flat, and it is so roomy we actually have lots of bare space in some areas. The move cleaned out our savings so we hope we can keep it.

Yesterday, Keri and I were driving to see her folks – I must have cut off the wrong guy because I start noticing this red car following us around. I first grew suspicious when the guy pulled in behind us at a restaurant… and didn’t park. He eventually parked after we got out, but as I waited for Keri to get out of the bathroom, I noticed he changed locations so he could watch us through the main window. Getting worried I hid around a corner of a wall, and the guy moved AGAIN to a better vantage point! Noting this, I cautioned Keri to go out another door and walked around the building so he couldn’t see us. Ran to our car, and left the lot via another exit and we lost him. Good thing too, that man was crazy to be stalking us while with his FAMILY! Yes, he was with someone else – likely family – while trying to ‘get back’ at us. I guess I was lucky I noticed.

And as interesting as that was, my wife dropped an ultimatum in my lap: Baby or Guinea pig… naturally I chose Guinea pig. She loves that little ball of fur, and I admit its got its hooks in me too. So yeah, a very interesting time…

Some highlights of my last 10 years.

Age 21: My great depression struck and was the worst year of my life - took three years to get over it.

Age 24: The best of my bachelor years, had a good job, got out of debt, and was living comfortably, and my art technique grew substantially.

Age 25: A rocky start, lost my job, got taken advantage of by some girl, worked a depressing job, my car was stolen, and my dad had terrible health problems - and that was just January. Later as my life and self-esteem returned, I had a great semester of college. Best of all, I had a chance to sell my stories to Hollywood - came close too, and I got my first Techra laptop Eurydice.

Age 27: Had a brief chance to relive my past demons from 7 years earlier - in the exact manner and time it happened at age 21. But I also met Keri

Age 28: Got married, boosted my self-esteem to an all time high!

And now... age 30. So what does the next decade have in store?

My brother-in-law, Kevin, is now getting seriously involved with a new girl, Jenna. Now keep in mind, I wrote the Eden Element trilogy 3 years before I even met this family. It turns out that Jenna has a mirror twin; one is left handed the other right, their hair parts opposite to the other - that sort of thing. Jenna is left handed, and is studying to be an EMT. This happens in my book! Venedaes, Aurelius' brother-in-law, does get involved with twins, and falls for Kessel [link] Kessel is left handed and is a nurse. Talk about a coincidence! ... I hope the coincidences stop there, because I don't want Keri to get kidnapped, then Kevin blames me, and comes to kick my ass! Strange; that makes four people from my books that have strangely appeared in my actual life; Keri as Malisal, Kevin as Venadaes, Jenna as Kessel, and Ebony as Suucrith... that last one is a bit exaggerated, but still similar.

Strange yes?

Well, in other news: the job hunt resumes as H&H haven't been working me as much as I'd hoped. I have three jobs and still only get 9 hours a week. If it weren't for unemployment benefits and food stamps, we'd be in trouble.

The book is primarily a mystery. There is an ongoing love story as a framing device, and some action, but it is predominately a mystery suspense mystery - just you you know what goes on in it.

I could use some opinions on which of these front covers I should draw.

Option 1: Presider Adomedaes (the commander who saved Aurelius) stands before a view port with Earth displayed large in the background.

Option 1.2: Presider Adomedaes smugly facing a window, Aurelius and Malisal in the background, with Earth reflecting in the window.

Option 2: Aurelius faces off with a uni-drake (a unicorn - dragon hybrid).

Option 3: Aurelius stands ready for an attack; Suucrith sneaks up behind him like the Alien.

Option 4: ... a redux of Suucrith's interrogation... though that would get attention I think it would be a bit misleading.

Opinions and suggestions would be most welcomed. Hope to hear from you.

Heh, so how much longer till a men of faith, like me, are put into a Concentration Camp and executed?

*sigh* Well I knew it was going to happen sooner or later, but let's just get it over with. Now I know how the Polish must have felt when the Nazis and the Soviets for over it: "I hate it when the Motherland and the Fatherland fight."

Well, at least we're surviving. The gym membership is paying off - a lot of my clothes are fitting again, and I'm not so embarrassed about my figure. I haven't been drawing lately, cuz I've been coloring other people's pics. Some have turned out really nice! Well... I have been working on my own work... but... it's personal stuff.

Well as bad as things get, Keri and I are still as happy as can be. Speaking of work, I should get to mine. So many images in my head, but I just can't draw fast enough to get them out... what's a guy to do?

Oh, and one more thing. One of our new neighbors speaks German. I studied it in 7th grade, and I found I still have an ear for it. I'm picking up my studies again, so don't be surprised if I start spouting gibberish in future entries... cuz it's not, it's German.

Going back to a gym can be dangerous, I know. I've heard countless stories of guys going back after so long, and end up seriously injuring themselves. I started by going 50% of my max weight - or less, made sure I had proper fluid motions, and was so very, VERY careful with my exercises - even then I still had strains and muscle spasms. But the first two weeks of any workout program is going to be the worst. MAN did that HURT!

Well... two weeks have past. I don't get strains nor muscle spasms anymore. I feel GREAT, and I'm able to tackle the hard jobs that come up - a good thing too, cuz the school has put me back to work. If I hadn't started working out two weeks prior, I'd be too weak to function - I'd have injured myself for sure.

Keri too has made some good progress. She craves going to the gym as much as I do, and she's made excellent gains. When we started she could do 20 min on a treadmill, now she does 10 min on the row machine, another 10 on chin ups, another 10 with a back pull, and finish with 20 min on the treadmill.

Look out! This fighter just got his workout routine back, and I'm ready to kick some!

NO MORE! My father in law - Gerald - does signs on the side. Being that work was tight, he offered to show me how the sign business works. During the evening we started tinkering with my flag, Constancy. Before you knew it, we were cutting layers to stick on my laptop.

It looks GREAT! The material catches the light, so it reflects rays just like street signs. It's the same material used on cars and buses, so it's durable and very sheen! NICE!!! Now Genesis flies flag of the Gomigossian Parliament. Sorry, I don't have a direct display of my flag - I'm a bit paranoid of people stealing it, but you'll see it popping in my pictures from time to time - the white and blue diamond symbol you see in several of my pictures.

N E way, the school hasn't called in... too long! I'm still looking for a new job and trying to move to Cameron Park, CA. There's leads, but no bites yet. I'm hoping, I'm hoping, I'm hoping Keri and I can get something.

At least our savings will last another month if it has to. N E way, I'm keeping busy, and hope the rest of you are doing well.

This is Exciting! I will actually get a chance to teach in a classroom! Upon exchanging soundtracks with the local high school music teacher and showing how I link those themes with the characters he was impressed. He asked if I'd come to some of his classes and show the kids how to use music to inspire creativity.

Imagine that! Not only do I get to display the archives but I also get to teach! This is awesome!

And even more good news, my comrades. Over the Holidays my father in law paid money to get my new laptop fixed. Genesis has returned! I can draw again!

Well, sorry I've been absent of late, I was duped into working two jobs... again... and it's driving me nutty. I've hardly had time to write or draw, and when I do... *tugs collar* my wife finds it to be... quite attractive... I can hardly get anything done... 'nuff said.

N E way, for those of you who have been kind friends here on DA, though none participated in the Co'lyon contest, I'm still going to do some portraits. Send forth your characters that you want to be displayed in this years group pictures. This year's group picture theme is Tribute to Trade Marks. Who knows, your character may be paired up with Captain Picard... or seen flying with an S-27.

The pic should be done by the end of January. So be patient. All right, time to get to work.

The GOOD NEWS, thanks to my father-in-law I'm not without a tablet. I can appreciate the irony, as the Eurydice (the old Tecra) is up and running again. According to legend, Eurydice was supposed to incorporate rebirth... though usually rebirth includes improvement. The Eurydice can draw, albeit a little choppy w/o it's video card. I'll take it, I've got to keep on creating! In the meantime, you'll understand my lack of feedback of late. Sorry, comrades.

Hopefully I'll have something to contribute soon, and the Co'lyon contest is still on.

Now the GOOD NEWS! In these last weeks I’ve been trying to secure new computers for myself and I’m happy to announce the purchase of a NEW tablet computer & tower. The tablet is named Genesis; appropriate for I use it to type and draw stories into existence. The PC tower is named Co’lyon, named after my most recent drawing. Now that I’m happy and surrounded by technology, I can focus on getting out of debt. When the Eurydice was new I paid about $1700 for it. Dad found Genesis & Co’lyon for $700. NICE!!! A special THANK YOU for my Mom & Dad in-laws who helped me find these killer deals and their overwhelming support.

The MINI-CONTEST: The contest is very simple and should take 15 minutes. The goal is to come up with a meaning for the word Co’lyon. What does the word mean, give a brief history or story. For example: The word Cigher. The word refers to a woman’s spear. It was light weight and very long, which women liked using in battle to keep enemies at bay. Today the word is also used in connection with being love-struck or heartbroken – in that a woman figuratively uses her Cigher to entice him or reject him.
See how easy that is? Make up a meaning for the word Co’lyon, a short story, and that’s all.

PRIZE: What do you win? A full figured, colored, and valued gift art rendition of your favorite character, which is also to be featured in the 2009 group picture (tribute to trade-marks).
HOW TO WIN: It’s simple: You participate, you win!
RULES: I would restrain you in one way. The Co’lyon, although used for space exploration, is a warship. Ergo the name shouldn’t be something soft, fuzzy, or too cute. It can be poetic, sure, just not too lovy-dovy. And sorry, only one character per participant.

In the meantime, I’m just trying to keep my head above water. With the USA economy in the tank, Keri and I have managed to do well for ourselves, but we’re by no means safe. Till next time, hope to hear from you, comrades.

Still, I've been itching to draw and write but my creative outlet is as good as dead. Eurydice was the name of my Toshiba Tecra notebook. I draw on it, I write on it, so I'm really bummed. Hopefully it can be salvaged, but that'll be a while. Tecra computers have a terrible habit of heating up, so I hope it's software problem and not... God help me if it's hardware.

Speaking of God, I just got back from a District Convention in San Francisco, and guess WHO happened to be there?! My Ex-Fiance. For me, it was a release cuz I felt not reserved anger or animosity toward her. Both Keri and I slowed our pace to say hello, but there was no denying Ebbi's defensive gestures. I mean I never expected her to talk, what would she say? Still, she was very unhappy and unfriendly toward us.

Oh well, not my fault. I'm not the one who broke my promise - twice, I have nothing to be ashamed of. We've moved on and wish her the best.

So, hopefully Eurydice is salvageable, and in the meantime, Keri and I are very happy and relieved these wild fires are finally out. Thank you Fire Fighters! And thank you comrades!

Last Friday, I went to work, come to find out I didn't have to on account of the fire. But then I couldn't get home - all roads to Paradise were closed! I called Keri and urged to to leave town, but she's new to this area and CAN'T DRIVE! As the tension grew, Keri began crying over the phone. Bear in mind I cry much easier than her, for her to sob is very serious. I felt so helpless and stressed out. I just wanted to punch through the blockade and get to her. Fortunately, after a few hours, a road opened up, and I didn't hesitate to race back to town. I have never seen Keri so tense before.

Could this woman love me anymore? What a gal! I've never felt so needed in all my life.

*sigh* I I love married life, but I need to get back to my books and my pics. Be patient with me, I'll get something done! Back to work! Luv yaz.

N E way, I'm down to one job now. It's about bloody time! I couldn't take working two jobs anymore. 13 hr days, 5 hrs of sleep, no more! My body feels broken, and it's going to take some time to heal.

No sooner had I'd been freed from my chains, I took my new wife on a date... YES A DATE! Just because I'm married to Keri doesn't mean I stop dating her. I paid for it the next day, but it was worth it.

Now it's time to get back to work now that I have time and energy. I hope to turn in some new work very soon. Luv yaz allz.

Still, working two jobs is quite a hassle. This is where I am so thankful Keri is in my life. Cuz I'm so busy at work, I don't have time to clean the apartment. Now that I'm married, Keri is taking care of unpacking and setting up house. She loves it, and she has been an enormous help. She just LOVES her new home! Her kitchen is all color coordinated with red appliances and utensils. She loves being a house wife, and she has been a great help to me. I can't thank her enough!

Keri and I have a wonderful relationship. Already we're reading each other's mind. We talk about EVERYTHING! That's where she makes me feel very comfortable. She is not just a wife and my lover, she is my BEST FRIEND! I think that's what causes most marriages to fail. People think there is supposed to be a difference between friends and lovers. NO, NO, NO! How can you be lovers if you can't be friends. Your spouse should be your best friend. Keri is my friend, and she helps me out tremendously.

Love you BUNCHES babe.

The only problem is, due to my limited money issue, I'm loosing my internet access. I'll have to relocate to a internet cafe to get online. I'm so hungry, I had no choice but to eat my room mate. He was delicious, but I can't help but think of my ancestors helping the Donor Party... My god, what has it come to?!

JK... Just updating my Journal to remind my friends I'm still alive. I try to restrict my entries when something significant happens, so that no one gets board. I've been working heavily, but secularly and artistically. Group 08 is almost done. You'll see why I've been gone so long. Had a devastating talk about postponing the wedding due to Real estate problems, but so far it's still on track. I'm no worried, but my wife-to-be is. No probs babe. It'll get done. I'm stressed, yes, but I don't care because I know all of you are TOO! I can't help everyone, but I will not allow anyone, if I can help it, from getting dragged down!

The TRUTH is that Keri and I have been engaged to be married for 3 weeks. The reason why we never told anyone - outside family - is because at the time I proposed I was unemployed as many of you know. I was trying to save myself from the torment of nagging finger wagging. Fortunately I got my old jobs back, not exactly careers but they pay the bills till the wedding day. As it stands, we have the means in which to get married.

I just have to say it: I LOVE THIS WOMAN!!! I know she is watching too, so: I LOVE YOU KERI!!!

Ahhhh. NE-way, after much careful talking, Keri has proven herself the most beautiful woman in the world. No, I 'm not looking at her body, she has the right HEART! A heart as gold as her hair. She's been rejected and had to reject in the past. She knows what she needs, and I know what I need: each other. Indeed, she is wise, she answered all the questions right. Keri is my soul-mate.

She is perfect! Keri reads my work and loves my art work. She ardors the fact that she is marring a "straight man who loves unicorns." She also provides my most important need, spiritual necessity. I complete her... and... at last... I am complete.

I'm getting married! I love you, Keri.

As I play World in Conflict, it becomes more obvious. World in Conflict depicts a Soviet invasion in 1989. During the cut scenes I saw a soldier wearing a troll doll on his lapel. I can't help but think, "I REMEMBER THOSE!" Another guy has a portable CD player. I took for granted how relativity new this technology is, and yet it's already been outdated by MP3 players.

In this game, the Soviets invade Seattle. I remember in 1989 I lived in Washington. I was 9 years old then, and... it just brings back a lot of memories and I can't help but wonder what would happen had that actually happened? I think my folks would have fled to Canada with my Grandmother's duel citizen papers. Still... I remember so much!

I remember the Challenger accident, the Berlin Wall coming down, the actual fall of the USSR, the first Persian Gulf war. I've lived a lot of history. And now I listen to teenagers talking and I wonder "What are they talking about?" After a couple months I realize what they're saying, but still that's freaky... The lingo has changed somewhere along the way, and I have no idea what the "In" words are anymore... ACK! I am getting old... and in 12 more years my body will start displaying the mileage... yikes...

Fortunately, these latest days are enjoyed with a tremendous joy. I spent the weekend with Keri again. My love for her keeps getting deeper and deeper. She is a wise woman, something I really enjoy. I've had women in the past say they "love me", but would never really show it. Keri does. She's the only woman who wrote a poem for me, no one has ever done that! She really understands men too, and doesn't resent a man being a man. I don't have to be so self conscious about the crude noises I make, because she has them too.

She is... just wise. She is so much fun to please. I love this woman, because she honest and courageous. It's like she can read my mind. And, of course, the most important thing we have in common, HUMOR. We spend so much time laughing, even at the things that hurt us. This is getting quite serious. She is the best, I love this woman.

Grr... *roaring* They deceived me! They talked as though they had all lost control of the pallet jack before and had accidents... but when I asked why they were letting me go, Mike Bolton merely said: "I think your talents are best suited elsewhere, it's just not working out." Heh... bull @#$*.

Still, I am proud of one thing. While I was getting the boot, I did not say one nasty thing. NOT ONE! I merely showed disappointment, and kept calm. Even as I was giving him the shirt off my back (literally) he was asking for the other uniforms back. I said; "I'll be sure to have them washed before I bring them back." He is used to hearing other drivers cuss like gangster trash, but I never said one obscene word to him... don't get me wrong, Marduke was screaming to tear him a new one, but as if that would have solved anything.

*sigh* But now this means, I have to take back my new computer, and start job hunting again. No matter, this new computer never worked right anyway. #@$*@.

Still... out of this tragic loss... I think I came away with something more valuable; a girlfriend. She loves me, I mean, REALLY loves me. She has read the first book of the Eden Element trilogy, and LOVED it! She is very street wise, something I don't see in too many women. Most of the time when I treat a woman with respect and kindness, I'm rejected or just kept as a friend. Yet, these same women have the nerve to be surprised when their boyfriends or husbands treat them like crap. Hello, I wouldn't do that to you, and yet you punish me for treating you like a gold...? Keri, though, appreciates the honor I show her. Do you know how big a turn on it is to guy to pleasure a woman.

Keri had never been kissed before... with all the romantic pieces I've done of the years, I made sure her first was perfect. This whole relationship, still, is quite frightening. We've both been rejected, had our feelings hurt, been in relationships that we both thought were real. We've only known each other for 4 weeks, but I've never told anyone I loved them this early in a relationship. Good night, this has been a bad year! I was engaged twice, so naturally I'm still cautious. Still, I love this woman.

She has been so encouraging, and she is the first to read any of my books. She also helped me to understand what part of my personality Aurelius represents: my loving side:

In the mean time, I got a NEW COMPUTER!!! A Velocity with a 22 Inch SCREEN! YES! THIS IS SO AWSOME! And may pictures... WOW! Looking at the Cigher with this new screen... looks more like a tactical display. NICE! Oh I'm so happy. I also got some upgrades for my tablet notebook so it'll run faster. Oh yes, I'm loving life!

I hope to get back to drawing soon, because my brain is itching to do some work... that is to say... I have been drawing... but neither DA, nor my conscience, would allow this work to be displayed. Yes, I know that's bad, but I get frustrated too. Forgive me, please.

NEway, A new friend is devouring my EDEL books. Finally, I'll get some outside opinions on this. Really I'M A BETTER WRITER THAN AN ARTIST!!! I really wish people would take the time to read it...

However, some good news for all you out there. I'm having the EDEL trillogy turned into an AUDIO BOOK! For those of you who don't have the time to read, now you can listen to it! My friend, Michael Whittington will be doing the narrations and most of the characters because he does their voices exceptionally well. The voice of Aurelius will be done by Chuck Odell... no not the NFC Fighter, he just has the same name. I will be lending my voice as Practitioner Vardo, because his voice is the only one I really mimic very well. My friends think I should do Aurelius, but listening to myself, I don't think I give it the right theme, though having RP'd him enough times, I know I could get the feeling right. No, I think Mike is better suited for it, he is a very good reader, and being friends for 10 yrs, he knows how my mind works, so he can anticipate what's going to happen.

So there, you have it? New, job, new comptuer, new friends, now I need to shut up and make NEW PICTURES!

Mindless Wolf provoked an interesting conversation last weekend with my best friend Mike. The question was regarding my Eden Element trilogy (EDEL). So the question was, what makes Earth so special in the story? (WARNING! The following gets very technical. This info DOES NOT appear in the EDEL trilogy, for I try to keep tech-talk in my books minimal, instead focusing on the drama)

Now I won’t go into details as to how the Eden Element works, lest some watchers try to steal the idea, but more to the point you’ll have to read it to find out. Simply put, unicorn anthros (Yu’than as they’re called in EDEL), have to pay a high price in order to gain the Eden Element. A price, however, that can be avoided if they simply lived on earth, which can’t be an option unfortunately – for moral reasons.

So what makes Earth so special? The answer: The WATER! It is the water of our world that the Yu’thans desire so much. Why? What does mere water do for them what it can’t do for us? Earth’s water has a vast array of different minerals that the Yu’thans lack on all the other world’s they visited. See this link to better understand why ([link] Unicorn Survival). Assuming you’ve read the named document, the reason is as follows: Earth’s oceans are rich in salt. This sodium product is very essential to unicorn anatomy and their survival. The second reason rests in the alkalinity in the fresh water. These products are vital to perpetuate unicorn life. And Earth’s water is perfectly balanced to this degree. The sodium from the oceans is needed to fuel electrolyte production in their bodies. Alkaline in the fresh water helps stabilize their internal chemistry and synapses functions. The Alkaline must be carefully balanced! Too much, and this would stimulate Y-chromosomes which would produce only stallions, and effectively breed the race out of existence. Too far the other way, and the X-chromosomes take over, producing mares, which, again, breeds them out of existence. To properly substitute this careful balance, they must introduce an amount of lithium 6 deuteride.

So why don’t unicorns live forever on their own homeworld? The answer was a shocking twist of fate. The unicorn’s power of creation is what is ultimately killing them! On Feyadune, the unicorn homeworld, the unis used their creative powers to spread lush vegetation to every corner of their world. The only “desert” terrain is the northern and southern tundra. With the vegetation covering the planet, the vast deposits of mineral rich soil is now overwhelmed by plant life. Where Feyadune once supplied enough alkaline and sodium to prolong life, now the greedy trees are absorbing it. Now the unicorns live only centuries instead of millennia. The Yu’thans too suffers this same predicament and is desperate to find a cure. Unfortunately this damage has been going on so long the gene code for all unicorn cousins has been affected.

Ironic, an industry of clean creation resulted in the mortality of its masters.

However, there is hope. A cure: The Eden Element. Aurelius is the key to this life saving power. But this power can also be used by others… That said... anyone interested?

The Accident:
As good as this job is... it almost wasn't. It was an accident, I SWEAR! I wouldn't do this for anything, it was NOT worth it!

A few days before I was to go in for my physical and DOT drug test, I went over to a relative's house and found some brownies. I had one, ew... kinda bitter. Then I saw them wrapped up nice and their crumbs cleaned up very neatly. Uh oh... I asked my dad, were those his... prescription marijuana brownies?
"Yes," he said.
OH @#$%&*. After an hour I was hit with a ton of bricks. Who ever says that marijuana is a dream drug, and that it's great... DON'T BELIVIE IT! It SUCKED! I was so disoriented I went to bed to sleep it off. I had the attention span of a goldfish with the reflexes of a deer in headlights. I felt so useless, I couldn't do anything. I know THC is safe, in that it won't kill you, but I remember feeling so paranoid about everything. I HATED IT!

Worse part is: THC is fat soluble, meaning it would stick to my fat cells! It could take days or weeks for it to completely leave my system. For the next four days I went on the biggest purge you can imagine! I drank 1.5 gallons of water that night, then 2 the next day, 3 the day after that. I was taking cranberry extract, and milk thistle during all this. On the day before my interview I drank a gallon of water while I stayed a whole hour in a sauna. By the end of it, I had stopped sweating... yeah time to get out!.

I wanted this crap out of my system! Fortunately my drug screen came back negative, *sigh* what a relief. Still, I emphasize my words: marijuana sucks! This was my second round with it, and I hate more than the first. I keeps me from concentrating, and I can't draw or write. It wasn't worth it, not even close. Fortunately I have my new job, and rest assured, I'll never do that again!
DON'T DO DRUGS KIDS!

Still, I'm just so jazzed about my new job. I'm determined to make this work! In a few months, I'll be out of debt, then a new car!

In the meantime, I've been taking up extra work art work from other artists because I'm my brain ... feels rather frozen. I find it nice to exercise my skills in drawing and narration - even for characters and stories not mine. Hey, if any of you want some outside renditions done, go ahead and ask. In the meantime... I have labor to produce.

1st Place: OH, not too surprising, fans, it's that tenacious stallion from the Cimarron heard, SPIRIT! Yes, friends, he won by a major landslide with over a dozen favs in one week! We had a talk with the stallion after the race; this is what he had to say:

"Oh yes... you can't beat gold. I'd like to thank the folks at Dream Works who helped me get established, and I'd like to thank DA for that fantastic double take."

Spirit's favs include Nagging Esparanza, and Mistriss Rain.

2nd Place: Bringing up second place was Suucrith! That dynamic black-winged unicorn mare got a good second place with 6 favs in one week. These were her comments:

"If that mustang gets too confident, I'll turn him into a smoldering cinder... but ... then again, that Mistress Rain idea sounds appealling. I just might have to try it on him."

Oh, watch out there, Spirit!

Bringing up 3rd place was Alexander the Great's fine steed, Bukephalos with 2 favs in the week. This is what he had to say:

"Where am I?"

A word to his artist, get that horse some character. And, OH NO, Aurelius brings up a weak 4th place with only 1 fav. This is what the stallion had to say:

"At least I made it. I don't know whether to envy Spirit, or pity him. You can expect Suucrith to follow through with her idea."

What a character! Hopefully he'll see some more action as the races continue. The artist Tyson George, aka, Kuuztinark, has this to say:

Remember the Myth: (RTM)
Like any good author, much of my inspiration comes from local mythology. It may not be original, but what fledgling author can’t resist the thought of molding their own ideas out of another’s imagination? Like the SH realm, it too takes its own shape. My approach to the fantasy realm is one based more on science and not on spirits and magic. It’s only called magic by the users because they don’t know how it works. RTM also reawakened a surprisingly dormant love of horses. I believe it stems from the time I was a little child, I wanted to watch G.I. Joe and Transformers like normal boys my age, but my mother didn’t want those “violent” shows to influence me, so I was forced to watch My Little Pony with my sister and cousins. By the time I was 9, I watched it willingly. I managed to reacquire my masculinity by getting into Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles by the time I was 12, and suppressed my pony love until adulthood. One day… I just wanted to write a story about a unicorn… but not just any unicorn, he had to be special… he had wings. BOOM! Aurelius was born. Now that my love of horses is awake, these unicorn stories have just exploded! So unicorn stories are a bit on the childish side, but… IT WAS JUST SO MUCH FUN TO WRITE! RTM and EDEL are remarkable stories, and I enjoyed building these realms.

The Eden Element: (EDEL)
It was two years before I finally relented and turned Aurelius from a quadruped to an anthropoid. Before hand, I promised never to do that, now that I’ve broken that promise I figured I would have a very good reason. And a good reason I have! It just goes to show that I have too much sci-fi in my blood to be restrained by the ignorant simplicity of the medieval, (not mocking fantasy writers by any means). I just feel compelled to scientifically invent how things work, so Aurelius has left the simplicity of the medieval world to that of powerful science. Anyway - I figured that Aurelius spent 5 centuries as an Alicorn, that’s long enough for those types of stories from that era. Now comes a new chapter in unicorn history. Upon Nutmeg’s death, Aurelius’ body decayed rapidly. But before he could join his mate in death, he is saved from his fate and remade as an anthropoid. Though his life saved he is now the center of attention by several powerful factions who want his power of the Eden Element. Aurelius is now plunged into the world of anthropomorphism.

The realms:
To me it’s not enough to just invent a piece of equipment or a power and just say that it does what it does. I spend some time analyzing it and figure out a means to make it work in real life. For example, when designing unicorn anatomy, I got much inspiration from the study of nuclear weapons (The documentary Trinity & Beyond was very insightful) . I love tech talk with my friends, and I’m always good for bouncing ideas around. Technical backgrounds on ships and biology are available upon request.
