While it's still spring, that is. As much as I hate when artists do this, I understand the necessity.
On Monday I'm going to go through my gallery and hack and slash. Probably dump most of my scrapbook and weed through the rest. Just a heads up.

Edit 5/25/09: BAM! Done! :3 I seem to have deleted mostly fan-art, which is okay - I'm much more forgiving of my original art.

So, I was on the internet the other day - fancy that. And, um, I was looking up Chris's address to send him his Christmas present (YES Christmas present, I'm only a couple of weeks late....not to mention I forgot his address), and I came across his mom listed on zoominfo.com. What zoominfo does, is it collects various articles on the web that have to do with the person (Chris's mom's were all school-related). And so, I got to thinking - what the hell, wonder if lil' ol me has an article or two out there. I wasn't expecting anything - I'm hardly a presence on the internet as everyone knows. So, suprise, suprise - I was in an article at Animation World Network! Granted, I'm only listed as one of the students who did color separations for the Twilight Zone comic, but hey, it's something, isn't it?

That, and I felt a need to get rid of that last depressing journal entry. XD

No, not really. Not after yesterday.
This isn't new news, but I only found out about it last night. Some poor NY Wal-mart employee was trampled to death by frenzied customers on Black Friday. What. the. hell. Are we so caught up in materialism that it's okay to KILL someone to save some money on that shiney new TV or Xbox? I heard that news and I just felt sick.

It struck home especially hard because I work at Wal-mart as well (...yay). Fortunately, our store is open 24 hours a day. We had long lines, but people were generally good-natured and the few I saw that got angry had good reasons.

Now I know Carson City isn't Long Island, but for there to be such a difference in attitude, it's almost shocking.
And this isn't anything new - every Black Friday there's either deaths or injuries. I wish they would just do away with the whole stupid event - that, or have mini-sales every Saturday until Christmas or something.

</rant>

To all those visiting from AWA, welcome! However, because of the way the table was set up, some of you grabbed my business card, but are actually looking for Joy Mason's site (we shared a table)

AWA was a blast, and much more profitable than Otakon (partially because it was less expensive to go there). The artist alley staff was extremely nice - I ran out of prints at one point and they had someone chauffeur me to Kinko's. They also provided a free meal per table on Saturday, so five star treatment all around. If I'm in the Georgia area next AWA, I'll definitely go again.

Well, that was a trip and a half, I'd have to say. My first time having an art table, so it was a somewhat harrowing experience. It was also the first time I've ever actually tried selling my art. I was extremely nervous beforehand, and that feeling really didn't leave until somewhere in the middle of Saturday. Thankfully, I shared the table with my roommates, and , both of whom were very supportive. I didn't end up selling very much, but I did get a couple of commissions, which made me very happy. I wouldn't call my first try a complete success, but I'll definitely attempt this whole mess again (hopefully at AWA).

Finally some updates.

First off, yes, I'm alive. Been mostly working and sleeping, though I did start some art at the beginning of the break that I hope to finish soon.

"New" art, Neus, Ftug, and Flames as well as a resubmit of Meian Shio'sai (got my hands on a scanner finally). I also took down my website and will have a new version up shortly.

That's it for now....
