This contest was proposed by our president who pointed out that there are seven deadly sins, well every thing has an opposite so we are going to do the seven goodly virtues, which are: Love, Honor, Loyalty, Trust, Faith, Patience, & Kindness. Of course it would be madness to ask our members to ask for all seven at once so we will start with the first one, Love. The rules of the contest are that you must if you enter submit a picture or written description or both of a knight or lady who you think represents love. The due date for the knight of love will be July 13th, when you have finished your submissions be sure to send them to me at salsaverde@vcn.com and I will submit them for LAGAMISOC make sure they are supported file formats like .jpg, .gif, etc.

I would like to start out by saying THANK YOU to all those who have helped get the word out. We now have 15 members! For an only few days old club, I find that impressive. And, if you have glanced at our counter, we have reached 100 pageviews!!

Also, a BIG thank you to , who has given us our very first deviation! We shall need to think of some reward for this wondrous chevalier.

In case you have been wondering, submissions will be expected to have some connection to chivalry.
The president and vice president have made a few decisions (while bored during lunch break and having nothing else to discuss). Not all of these will be news, but this is just an update, for those who were wondering.

:rose: As of 5/1/06, we will have a monthly poster boy/girl, who is a model of chivalrous behavior. The winner (as it is, in fact, an award) will be featured on the site for all to admire. He/She will also be awarded an...award...of some type. Ideas for this will be announced (once they have been decided.) The winner of May has been decided, and will be announced when the time comes.


:rose: As of 5/1/06, we will have a monthly wall of shame poster boy/girl, who is a model of unchivalrous behavior. The winner of May has been decided, and will be announced when the time comes.

:rose: As of 5/1/06, we will have a monthly, club-wide movie/quote/book/whatever to inspire conversation, deviations, or anything else they may inspire in the general direction of chivalry. This comes from the realization that it is difficult to make deviations about this wonderful code.
The *movie/book* for May (I may as well tell you now) will be "The Princess Bride." We can't wait to see what you come up with!

In case you haven't guessed, this is a club which exists for the sole purpose of supporting chivalry.
What's that? Yes, you in the back. Come now, don't be shy. Oh, you want to know what chivalry is? Well then, I'll tell you.

First, let's look in history. "Chevalier" is the french word for "knight." (direct translation is 'horseman,' but it referred to knights.) As you probably know, knights followed a code that basically meant being brave, courteous and loyal.
To me, chivalry is simply showing to respect to everyone and thing around you, even your enemies, and especially those weaker than yourself. It is applicable to everyone, and the highest form of respect in our day!

So, are you up to the challenge of keeping chivalry alive, and supporting those who show it? Join us *me*!!

To join, simply note to the club. And you can...I dunno...say why you want to join. Or what you like about chivalry. Or what your favorite color is. Just note and say you want to join, and join the few..the proud..the chivalrous.

As for organization...
