The most remarkable thing about October was Halloween. I loved my costume, and had so much fun singing and bonding with my new friends in Chamber Singers. My make-up was so amazing that a mom asked if something was wrong with me. Fun night. ^^

Five days later, in addition to Guy Fawkes Day, it was my 18th birthday. Nothing much happened on the actual day, but the day after, I got to see Rent with my mom. It wasn't a truely professional theater group doing it so of course there were little flaws, but it was a lot of fun. Thank you Sam for getting those tickets! ^^

My dad has promised to take me sky-diving when it gets warmer. I used to be terrified of roller coasters, and now I'm such an adrenalin junkie that I want to jump willingly out of a plane.

In other news, I took a trip to Augustana today with my mom to check out the campus. It's gorgeous, all the trees and rivers and old buildings... When we first got there, there were directions to a tiny 16-space parking lot, only 12 of which were for visiters. We wandered around and got to talk to a science professor one-on-one, which was pretty cool. He was actually good friends with my Anatomy teacher! Then we got a personal tour of the whole place, complete with lunch, from a very nice senior named Josh. And now to come to the title...

The wildlife. I don't know if any of you have black squirrels by you, but I've never seen one before. They were EVERYWHERE. Josh called them ninja squirrels, he swears he's seen one do a back-flip. It was so cool! Unfortunately, it was only after the tour that I realized we hadn't taken any pictures of them. So, me and mom walked around searching for one of the millions we had seen- and they had vanished! Truely ninja! It took forever, but eventually we happened upon 3 different ones. Two of them were too far away to get pictures of, and the third either would run up a tree, not stand still, of stay in shadow where he wouldn't show up. Damn his fierce ninja powers. We got pictures, but you can't even really see him!

Oh well. You have won the battle this time, squirrel...

In drawing we've drawn our eyes. My teacher is angry that I'm only in drawing one when I'm a senior and I'm so far ahead of everyone else in the class. (Seriously sophmores, if all you want to do is sit there and text while listening to your iPod, WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN A CLASS THAT ACTUALLY REQUIRES FOCUS? That's what study hall is for.) Anyway, I rather like a drawing I've done of my eyes, it might even be my *gasp* new DevID!! That thing is from two Halloweens ago for crying out loud, time for a change.

On a completely unrelated note, my friend Chris tried a social experiment today. Every Friday, our school explodes with spirit, the school colors of green and gold on everyone. (A surpring amount of people even dye their hair or paint their faces.) They were particularly fired up today, because our football team is playing a home game against our rival school, Nequa. So Chris wears Nequa colors to school instead, to see what will happen. It was pretty hilerious how many people thought her a traitor. You can't say us Warriors don't have school spirit.

Also, my 6,000th pageview has passed without anyone claiming it... so I am going to reset it to 6,500.

In other news, I took 2 trips recently. First me, my friends and all of our moms went down to the University of Illinois for a tour through campus. I want to major in Animal Science so that I can become a vet or a some kind of a zoologist, and I want to do it there. It's the perfect distance from home (not too close, not too far), the campus is beautiful, and it has the 3rd largest research library in the country, after Harvard and Yale. I want to go to U of I so badly, and an added bonus is that so do my two best friends. It would be amazing if all three of us went to the same college- I just hope I'll be able to get in. The problem is my Class Rank/collective GPA. It's around 65%, meaning that I did better than 65% of my school. The average class rank that gets in to U of I is 85% - 95%. I have a bit of work on my hands to improve that.

My second trip wasn't as eventful, but was just as fun. Me and went to the zoo! The animal nerd in me went into a little speal about almost every animal we looked at. ^^

I still have to write up my short story for 's contest and make my friend Sam happy with a few commission pictures. I should probably eventually start my summer homework, too... The following is a well-used meme.

My dad has been going through some problems, I won't say exactly what. But, he's recently gotten help for these problems and he's really turning his life around. In the process, he was ordered to stay away from one specific person, who was enabling him. I've met this person, and he is a very large, not very bright man that among other things has been leeching off my dad. He is also known to have a bad temper. (His own mother, who lives in our building, had a restraining order put on this guy, just to give you an idea.)

In my dream, I was driving home from my friend's house at about 10pm, as I do many nights. I get to my driveway and a van is pulling out with a few large men in it. I recognize some as this idiot's brothers. I get to the garage and my dad is there, having a cigarette and looking tired. I ask him what happened, and he says that his idiot friend just showed up with a gun. Even though he continued, saying that he was able to talk them into leaving, (he is very good when speaking to angry people) the shock of this was enough to wake me up and send me down here. This will most likely never happen, but it could, and that scares me.

I've been back from Mississippi for a few days, just been too lazy to say anything. ^^ It was fun as always, aside from the nearly getting trampled by miniature horses. I got to see all my cousins and I even found my iPod! (Which had been in their junk drawer for a while and still worked!) I was so excited about that. We also got to see Public Enemies, which is an amazing movie. Mr. Depp does not dissappoint. I tried to look for my friend's brother, who was an extra in a few scenes, but I was too involved with the plot to notice the backround. I'll try again after I've seen it enough times to catch small details.

I love the animals my cousins have. My sort of aunt Anne has 3 standard poodle brothers at her house most of the time, even though only one belongs to her. They are such sweet and calm dogs that it makes me wish my own miniatures were a bit bigger. Then there are also 2 miniature poodles, and a yorkie-poo that has been discribed as a devil-dog. One of the MANY cats down there has no tail, and his name is Tigger. Irony abounds!

And then of course, there are the horses. I love horses, they are like very intelligent giant dogs with velvet noses. My cousin Flynn has a horse of her own that she shows at competitions. His name is Dillon, he's very sweet, I've never been licked by a horse before. If you're reading this Flynn, how did you do at your horse show? Were you able to go? I'm going to draw a picture of Dillon for her, so be watching for that.

While down there, I did some writing and drawing, and got Malvagio chapter 11 done! I even started on chapter 12, but it is again a bit of an action chapter, and I have trouble with that. The pictures I have drawn to accompany it may go into my scraps, so if you want to see them, check that.

Anyway, tomorrow is going to be horribly busy for me. Me and my friends are going to the midnight premier of Harry Potter 6 in full garb. However, I failed to remember that this happens to be the same day of our annual family Six Flags trip. I'll have to go from the park to the theater, which means I won't be able to wait in line for seats with my friend, who it appears will now only have her mother to talk to for a few hours.

Also, a while back got my 5,000 pageview, and I've posted the sketch for his picture in my scraps.

I went to Six Flags and rode every coaster but Iron Wolf and American Eagle because of how un-busy it was. I love that park, but normally it is so crowded that we only get to a few things once. But, we rode 2 of the most busy coasters 3 times without much wait! It was so empty because it was cloudy that day, and at one point it started pouring. We had to hide under the awning of a consession stand for 10 minutes, and then wait for the rides to start up again. To round out the day, we decided to go on the Raging Bull one last time. Raging Bull is my favorite coaster there. It's quite long, and I'm pretty sure it's the tallest one they have, definately the longest drop. On the final ride of the fantastic day, I lose my phone. The Lost and Found people said they'd mail it to me if they found it, but it fell from the top of the biggest coaster they have. Even if they found it, I doubt they were able to identify it.

On a happier note, I got a bunny! My mom works at a pet store and they got this adorable black flop-eared rabbit to put up for adoption. He and his cage were free, so I took him home. I named him Erik, of course. It fits because he's as curious and cautious as a younger Erik was. The main difference is that instead of an underground lair at an opera house, he has a green plastic igloo in a big purple cage. Also, I doubt that the Phantom has such big fluffy feet.

Soooo I'm done with school, which means I'm a senior now. W00T! I am so ready for summer, it's not even funny. Since friday I've already gone on a relaxing date with my boyfriend, seen Up, went to a Wii party and now I'm going to Six Flags tomorrow! Fun in the sun is ON!

Up is adorable, I must say. The plot is different than what I was expecting. The trailers give very little of the plot. All you get from them are that there are talking dogs, a jungle, a large bird, at least 2 old people that are apparently against each other, an annoying boyscout, and a flying house. Pretty random, right? But no, it worked rather well.

I should get to bed now... yep.

First of all, West Side Story was AMAZING. Standing ovations every night, even for my tiny section of the cast. Everyone was crying closing night. Every night before a show, all us girls went into the make-up room, gagged ourself with hair-spray, put on ridiculous amounts of make-up, got into our sequined dresses. Then we all got into a circle, arms around each other. Every night, we sang 'Good Riddance' by Green Day while we swayed in a circle, it was very moving. The final night, hardly anyone could get the words out because we were crying so much. We all got to keep a part of the brick covering used on the set. It was a wonderful experiance to be a part of. ^^

Two nights during I stayed out until after midnight. The first was with my crazy fun grandma who loves going to Steak and Shake at night, and the second was the cast party at Denny's. The food at Denny's is delicious when it's 12:30 am.

Unfortunately, the only thing keeping my immune system strong during all the late nights and dancing had been the adrenaline of the show, so in the days following I got pretty sick. Because of the stupid swine flu scare, the school made me miss 3 days instead of 2, which is more than I've missed all year. Because of that, I had 4 quizzes in different classes to make up. >< I'm sorry, but I laugh at people who are scared of swine flu or whatever it is they're calling it now. Because of my illness, I missed some review days in math and failed my math final. I don't take that too harshly though, because it will only drop my overall grade to a B.

This week, I had 2 chorus concerts. In the first one, my choir got to sing All I Ask of You. XD However, a lot of people didn't have it memorized well, so Ms. K ordered a quiz where you have to write the lyrics out. I was laughing in my seat, finally my Phantom obsession pays off in an acedemic way! The second concert was more interesting, because the teachers gave us 2 songs to memorize on the day we were performing...

Our second Young Authors performance was today, but I'm not looking back on it too fondly. Some shows were a bit of a small disaster. But, I loved the one me and my friend directed. It was called The Walrus Who Thought He Could Fly. Can you imagine anything cuter?? We made walrus hats and made use of the "You Can Fly" song from Peter Pan!

There was an element of sadness to the performances, because it was the last time we'd work with the seniors, or even see some of them. My buddy is one such senior. I'm gonna miss you, Sarieu!

There's just so much to tell, so many fond memories. I can honestly say that this has been my favorite and best year of school so far. There have been low points, a friend moving away, a gun threat, but all in all it's been pretty great. Next year won't be nearly as awesome, because the seniors are graduating, and our school district is gaining another high school, so some of our best teachers are leaving. Up until now, we've had a seperate campus for freshmen. But now they're turning that building into a middle school, so we're gaining all the freshmen at the big school. It'll be crowded... Oh well.

Tomorrow I'll post a second series of cards. I've been so busy lately that I haven't gotten any writing done, but school gets out in 2 weeks, and then I'll have plently of time. Look forward to that! ^^

This week and next have been/will be/are very crazy, but fun. I'm in our play, West Side Story, and opening night is on May 7th! I'm only in the ensemble, but it's still a commttment. If you know/live in the vicinity of Waubonsie High School, you should come see it, because it's going to be amazing. Our school's plays are almost as disciplined as small professional ones, and we have a wonderful cast this year.

Needless to say, because of the play, (and therefore not going home until 7 on most nights), I won't be on DA as much until it's over. It's just as well, I haven't had the time to draw much, what with finals coming up. I can't believe I'll be a senior next year...

I may have mentioned this before, but my theater class is taking elementary school Young Author stories written by kids and turning them into plays. It's very cute. ^^ I'm directing 2 of them, and our first performance day feild trip is on thursday! My first story is very random, but quite fun and imaginative. It's about elves and superheroes and giant rabbits and a villian named Sir Fancy Pants. My second one is called The Walrus Who Thought He Could Fly, and I'm co-directing it with a friend of mine.

Also, I'm going to a Not-Going-To-Prom-Party with my boyfriend. It's gonna be a Wii party! ^^ Aaaaand I entered my gender-switch phantom to 's contest. That's about it... I tried out my copics again on a Yami picture, and perhaps I'll post that soon. Goodnight for now, out of ramblings...

My spring break was uneventful and unproductive. But, I did see Monsters vs. Aliens. I must say it was pretty cute. I even drew fanart of Dr. Cockroach, although that may have only been because he was voiced by Hugh Laurie using his British accent.

Speaking of Hugh Laurie... OMG HOUSE WTF?!? I can't say anything because of spoilers, but if anybody's seen the new episode, you'll know what I mean.

Cadaver day: Mr. D gave us an ultimatum that the bus would leave the school at 8 and if we were late, we'd be left behind. We were to meet in the atrium of the building on Saterday before journeying to the bus. I got there 15 minutes early, and there was a bake sale going on in the atrium. They wouldn't let us stay there and sent us to a different part of the school. I thought, alright, I'm not the only one here, they'll probably tell D where they sent us all. Around 7:55 I started getting anxious because Mr. D was still not there... I'm just a worrier. It was fine, none of us were absent, so we sat 3 to a seat on the bus for an hour to NIU. There were 5 bodies there for us, 4 that were already open for us to examine, and one for the actual dissection. They also had removed brains and bones for us. It was so amazing... Surprisingly, nobody got sick. The smell was bearable, and it was just so cool that everyone was too involved to really get anything sickening into their brains. My friend Celia ended up hating me by the end of the day because I kept comparing things to food. I might post a picture of myself at the dissection.

Also this weekend, my cousin came over. It was pretty fun, but it was immediately after I got home from the anatomy trip, so I smelled of formaldihyde and was a bit tired. (I kept grossing her and my dad out with my detailed descriptions.) We went outside for the first time in forever because it was actually nice out. After we got back, we watched Sweeny Todd. What does it say about me that I watch Sweeny Todd right after cutting up humans and comparing them to food? Am I secretly a cannibal?? We also watched Mirrormask. Before she left, I helped her put up her first deviation, because she doesn't have a scanner at her house. (She's getting pretty good, especially when it comes to drawing dragons. See for yourself! )

Watchmen (more than a week after I saw it ): was epic. Rorschach. . The experiance of seeing it was, however, blackened a bit by the unfortunate situation. Celia, Sam, and myself were going to see the morning show, because that was the only time Sam could see it that day. There are two theaters that we go to regularly, and we had decided on AMC, which is larger. Surprisingly, I found myself the only one there. Sam had woken up late and couldn't come because of work, and Celia had mistakenly gone to see it at the other theater, which, coincidentily, had a showing at the same time. I had to see it by myself, frustrated and alone.

But WOW. I loved it so much that I bought the comic the same day. I pretty much agree with 's analysis of the film. Very close to the book, and the changes that were made were necessary for coherence of plot.

Unfortunately, I had a moment when I realized that one of my characters is VERY much like Dr. Manhattan... not the naked blue part, but the simultanious time part. Don't you hate when you think you're being original, and find out it's already been done?

I got into the Ensemble cast of West Side Story! It's only a chorus part, but it's the first actual play I've been part of since 1st grade, so I'm very excited.

Also, my 4000th pageview was surprisingly snagged by ~Dracogirl93, who, coincidentily, is my cousin! Her request was a picture of Zain, Reeku, Nox and Fuoco, and it'll probably be up tomorrow. She's sort of new on Devart, so go wish her welcome. ^^

I've come to notice that my best doodling happens in math class. I'm going to start posting a ton of scraps that are my "Math Class Doodles". I'm going to put them all in a new folder so that even if you don't want to bother with knowing when I post scraps, you can still easily find them. If they're good enough, I won't put them in my scraps.

Additionally, I'm almost done with my second set of cards! This set will all be my pokemon-inspired characters, called 'Halfbreeds'. The only one of the characters you'll see that is already in my gallery is my Shadow Lugia, Shilaroku. Don't worry, he won't look so creepy in chibi form. ^^

NYAAAAAAAAAAAH I NEED TO DRAW MORE RILEY NOW

I am loving my Theater class! Our latest project was children's theater, and we had to adapt a well known fairy tale and perform it without a script. My group chose The 3 Billie Goats Gruff, except our group had so many people that we ended up adding another goat, a second troll, and Indiana Jones. There was the stupid goat, the chatty girly goat, the gangsta goat (me) and the einstien goat, and the troll wouldnt let us pass unless we helped him with his math homework. It was so much fun! ^^

On Valentine's day, I went to see Coraline with Sean (my bf). We figured that it wouldn't be that crowded, because it's not a lovey-dovey movie, but everybody randomly decided to take their kids to see it that day. (It really isn't for young kids, some had to leave crying.) The eerie music and enchanting characters are so much fun that I am tempted to do fan art! If you haven't seen it yet, go! It's awesome!

8:20 on a sunday night...

Just felt like posting a little update. I'm still a little sick, but it's nothing more than an annoying cough now. Lately it's been freezing outside, but the past few days were so warm that I was tempted to take a bike ride around the neighborhood. Instead I spent most of my time inside coloring an anatomy packet for monday. Hopefully it stays warm, I don't want to wear my winter coat again...

I'm working on a few pictures, and I promise I haven't forgotten Malvagio! Chapter 10 is just a bit difficult for me to put into words for several different reasons... I've also been trying to draw more of my original characters, but Erik keeps poking me with a sharp stick so if you have any ideas for Phantom pictures, please tell me because I'm starting to bleed from the poking.

Lastly, I went to see the school play with newboyfriendman, it was so funny! The next play is going to be West Side Story, and I need to find a monologue, a song, and learn to dance for the audition.

This weekend has been fun, otherwise. I got to see Inkheart, which was very good, despite its differences from the book. Dustfinger and Farid . If you like fantasy and don't have a weird thing against Brendan Fraiser, you should go see it because of the awesome.

Also, on Saterday, the guy I've had a crush on forever admitted that he has feelings for me too! I'm as giddy as... well, a schoolgirl. Lol. I've never had a boyfriend before, so this will be interesting.

Also, my mom has had to get a new computer as the old one crashed. It took Bestbuy over a week just to tell us it would be better to get a new one rather than fix it. So, because my mom still has a perfectly good internet connection, I've brought my laptop over from Dad's house. There is a downside to this though, because my scanner is still at Dad's and until tonight (when I'll be taking it back) I won't be able to scan pictures.

I've entered 's contest, Somewhere in Time, and the picture I have is done in pencil for now. I'll post it on here in a bit and you all can tell me if you think it needs to be darker shades or if I should color it.

There is a reason why I haven't posted the next chapter of Malvagio. It has much action in it, which is difficult for me to write well. My talent is in subtlty and dialogue, not action scenes. We'll just have to see how it goes...

The new semester has begun, and it's not going to be easy. In addition to Anatomy, I now have Theater Arts II in the morning. The teacher is the same one I had last year, he's the school's director (and quite the hard ass). But it's going to be a lot of fun, although theater classes have a surprising amount of homework and of course, acting and directing. After that I have chorus and lunch, which is my little break from work. From there I journey to Contemporary Literature, which I haven't decided whether or not I'm going to like. It's too early to tell. Then it's off to French and Math, and the day ends with a gym class. *sigh*

I've been spoiled this past semester, and I actually considered for a moment dropping Theater Arts because of all the work. But the director would never forgive that, and I'd never make it into a play before I graduate. So for now, I'll stick to it, learn a few good tips from the master and audition for the musical in the spring.

The change in classes is bittersweet. I finally have classes with a few friends I never get to see, but some of my other friends have to take that place. I'll especially miss my old gym buddies. The Penguin-Sean Team will be missed.

I just got back to school, and I'm actually feeling pretty good about it. I missed the scheduale I'd fallen into, not to mention a ton of the friends I don't get to see much. We had a snow day on the last day of Finals, so it's been moved to this Friday. I have an in-class essay on Macbeth, and huge tests in French and Anatomy. (Although, th anatomy test doesn't concern me; I had an A in the class and so it won't count for or against my grade.)

In english, we were given a fun assignment: rewrite a few scenes from Macbeth in a different style, and perform it to the class in groups.

So, Santa's come and left his goodies. Actually, I wrapped some of my own presents to help my mom with the holiday rush. This ensured that I liked some of the presents I got. However, there was one present that my mom kept a good secret from me. All I found out was that it would be a day late, so I guessed that she got it from the internet.

COPIC MARKERS.

I didn't know what to do with myself! They're really high-end great quality markers that dry quickly and don't smear unless you use the blending pen. It's been a fantasy of mine to have some, so much so that I even had a dream about them once.

Problems:
1: These markers are very expensive. Not only am I concerned about how much my mom payed for me, but I currently only have 12 colors, a flesh tone, and a blender. Crayola spoiled me. Copics have a TON of colors, but again with the cost.
2: I'm a colored pencil artist, and have no experience in markers.

I'll practice of course, but right now I mainly stare reverently at thier awesomeness from across the room. Maybe I can use my birthday/x-mas money to start saving for more colors...

Wednesday:
Not even a half hour into first period, the principal came on the intercom sounding to be on the border of tears. She said that we were going into a hard Lock-down, and that it was -not- a drill. My anatomy room has 2 doors, so we can't hide anywhere in it. Instead, our teacher had us run into the storage closet (the one full of things to disect) and shut off all the lights. I was genuinely freaked out, because a few days before, there had been rumors of a bomb threat. With my vivid imagination, I was imagining all of the horrible things that could happen- my friend Celia had to calm me down with random silent games.

We were in the dark for 2 and 1/2 hours. Since everyone was texting their friends, we had a constant stream of information, and found out that there was a gun somewhere in the building, and there were 12 squad cars outside. Suddenly, the lights came on in our room and the police came in. They patted everyone down and looked through every bag and purse. After that, they said that we didn't have to hide, but we had to stay in the room. For another 2 and 1/2 hours. Whoopie.

It turned out that it was an air-soft gun. I was ready to punch somebody. They could have at least found something legitimate after all that!!

Even after the day's events, we still had 3-hour long rehearsal for our concert the next day.

Thursday:
Since we were thrown off schedual so close to finals, every single class was rushed, trying to make up what we had missed.

That night was the start of Prism, our annual holiday concert. We have this concert on 2 nights, and there are 2 concerts each night.Great fun, it's amazing, but exhausting. We had a lot of waiting time during it, and I drew a few things, one of which I can't scan because it was a Christmas gift for someone. ^^

Today:
I was so tired that I forgot to bring lunch money to school. My friend lent me 2 dollars for one of those giant pretzals, but by the end of the day I was so hungry and tired that I spent study hall on the floor. After school I went to Anime club's secret santa party, and my person loved my drawing, and she gave me a drawing of Edward Elric that is amazing!

All day after that I babysat my little siblings. Now I am too tired to write anymore, so good night everyone! ^^

I've been feeling very good lately. In gym, we've just started floor hockey, which is fun as all Hell, and aparently, I'm the smartest kid in my French class.

Malvagio has actually been progressing, I've even made an outline of every chapter! Of course, that excludes the end, as my friends read the outlines and I want them to be surprised, too. All in all, I'd say it's about halfway done.

Lately I've been doing a lot of drawings for other people. It's been a while since I drew something for myself, mainly because I've had trouble deciding.

I have been pretty stressed, as well. Since Mom's going to work now, I'm going to have to babysit the babies nearly every day for a long time, and she's forbid me from being online while doing so. The reasons were what stressed me, because she gave all these ludicris things that could possibly happen while my back was turned. I don't need the guilt trip right now...

I don't really know what else to say...

Life things: I need some sort of job. I only applied to one (which didnt work out anyway) and my mom has been annoying me about it.

However, she keeps giving me mixed signals, because she needs a job as well. First she was telling me to get this job that she found for me, filing at a hospital. I was lazy that day so it took me a while of thinking to actually accept it. But, the minute I told her that I wanted to do it, she said that I'd be needed at home to babysit while -she- works. Soooooo, still have no idea.

HA! I love my birth date. (It's Guy Fawkes day, and I love V )

Yeah, so today has been pretty awesome. I'm 17 now, and I can legally see R-rated movies without an "adult". ^^ I was actually useful in volleyball (I'm not on a real team, it's for gym class) and I was promised several awesome gifts from friends that had forgotten what day it was. I even got a hug from a guy I have a crush on, which is a big deal because he hates being touched.
(Versilaryan, you say one word and you die ^^)

Also, I auditioned for the next school play today. It's a comedy called "Life of the Party", which is supposed to be hilerious. Normally during auditions, I get really nervous and quiet, but I wasn't nearly as nervous today. It was an awesome feeling to be confident! I know I have a problem with projecting, but I think that I was fairily loud this time. ^^ I'll be elated to get any part at all...

What else... Yesterday I played Pokemon Sapphire for 4 hours straight, and I got the new version of The Producers!

Additionally, the picture that I submitted to 's contest is being colored, and I am working on a few comics, one of which was inspired by a few of my close friends. One of them happens to be a Dungeon Master. Yes, D&D. Even if you aren't familiar with Dungeons & Dragons (I'm not) you should see the humor in it. ^^

I also took pictures of my halloween costume, with a close-up of my amazing Venician (spelling?) mask. However, since these pictures are on a non-digital camera, you'll have to wait for the photos to be developed. *sad*

My Halloeen lasted two days, the first consisting of trick-or-treating with my little sister (3yearsold). This is the first year she's been independant enough to know what she's doing. ^^

The day after halloween, I dressed up again for a little 3 person get-together with my closest friends. We ate copious amounts of sugar, played N64 for an hour, and then watched Doctor Who.

Afterwards, we went to see our school's production of The Crucible. We have amazing actors in our scool, and most of it was impressive. There was just one scene... Those of you who have read Crucible (or have researched the Salem Witch trials) know that one man, Giles Corey, was crushed to death by stones when he refused to speak under interrogation. In our play, Giles screamed dramatically whenever another stone was placed on him. This was great, except that it was horribly obvious that the blocks they were using were styrafoam. Come on, techies, really? And then, the actors weren't even *acting* like the things were heavy! It was so sad, people were laughing...

Other than that scene, it was great.

So, first of all, my parents are divorced, and I live pretty evenly at both of their houses, which are blessedly close to each other. Lately, both have been having money troubles for different reasons. At my dad's house, the laptop is completely mine, it is my baby, and I'm really the only one who uses it. I also have a scanner there, and the programs that allow me to edit and crop my pictures once scanned.

Because money is so tight, Dad has decided to stop paying the internet bill temporarily, once more, because I'm the only one who uses it. I didn't mind this much, because my mom also has internet, but then I started thinking. My mom's scanner works fine, but I am terrible at editting things on the programs she has here.

Therefore, I might not post as many pictures as I would like for a while, until I can either figure out how to edit them, or until Dad starts paying for internet again.

However, I have started working on Malvagio again, which I shouldn't have any trouble posting once it's done. I'm trying a new way of writing the chapters: Normally, I just write whatever pops into my head, having a vague outline of the entire plot. But now, I have an outline for each chapter, which should make it easier and quicker to write!

I suppose that's it for now...

I'm making my own costume, and it's sort of a victorian era masquerade costume, using the mask I got from Venice as the main point. I'm not making the cotume historical, because I'm taking exsisting clothes and matching them, so it will be a modern interpretation. It's red and gold, black and aged white, so my main piece is red trench coat.
It's gonna be so much fun! ^^

School started about 2 months ago, and so far It's been great. I'm a Junior now, but I really don't feel like it... I love all of my teachers, and one of my coolest classes is Anatomy and Physiology. At the end of the year, there is a special field trip where we'll go to a hospital to disect human corpses! (Normally only college students get to do this) I know it sounds gross, but I'm really looking forward to it. I'm interested in knowing how things work.

Last year, I think my average was a high C-low B... but now I currently have all A's! It's a great feeling that hasn't happened for me since 5th grade.

I also just had the first chorus concert of the year, and I'm finally in the advanced choir! We sang a song from an opera, and when we listened to the recording, it sounded professional! I love singing...

Last few things that bear recalling:
I'm now officially in our school's Anime club, GSA (Gay/Straight Allience), and Tech (which is the technical staff for our school's plays; we make sets and stuff.)

Lastly: I saw Rent! Well, sort of.
Everybody knows that it is coming off of Broadway, right? Well because of that, they actually filmed the live play and showed it in movie theaters for only 4 days. The tickets were still $20, but that's a hell of a lot cheaper than actually seeing it. I loved it, and most of it seemed more real than in the movie, especially Angel and Collin's relationship. I have drawn a couple scenes from it and may or may not post them.

I have been so busy that I've been neglecting my Malvagio. The next chapter... I know exactly what will happen, but I have to put it onto paper. Please don't kill me...

I went to Sheboygan, Wisconson of all places, to a resort called Blue Harbor. It had a huge indoor waterpark, as do most hotels of that state, and it wasn't too crowded, depending on the time. I'm gonna miss that giant hottub.

Sheboygan is a pretty cool town. There are dozens of cool little shops for a curious person such as myself, and an ice cream/chocolate shop that has -dare i say it- the best ice cream I've ever had. So creamy...

There's also some great Italian restaraunts, with pizza made from the original 400 year old recipe. It's made with minimal sauce and cheese, along with lots of olive oil. In my opinion, it's a lot better (and better for you) than American pizza.

I did have a fun week, but at times my family was taxing and I desperately wanted to be home. I had some weird dreams that I might turn into COMPLETELY random stories eventually, and I drew a few things as well. And guess what...

CHAPTER 8 OF MALVAGIO IS ALMOST DONE! I absolutely hate handwriting, but I had no choice and I hope it's satisfactory.

OH GOD I don't want to be gone from my computer for ANOTHER WEEK!! Family is dragging me to Sheboygan, which although fun, is tearing me away from my computer yet again. If I haven't got another chaper of Malvagio when I get back, someone PLEASE hit me in the head with something very hard.

I went to Six Flags this Tuesday, reminding me that I really need to write more journals. I am usually afraid of large rollar coasters, but my uncle actually convinced me to go on the Raging Bull, which in case you dont know, has a drop that's over 200 feet tall, and is one of the fastest coasters in the park. I LOVED it! I wanted to go on it again, but the line was too long. I now love coasters, I'm turning into a thrill-ride junkie.
However, the day we went was extremely hot and sunny, so instead of my usual pale skin and dark hair, I have burnt skin and summer highlights. It actually looks good on me...

In addition, I went to the midnight showing of Dark Knight! That whole evening was fun (other than getting there less than an hour early and scrambling to find two seats together). Our multiplex has 30 theaters, and well over half were all showing Batman at 12:01. We sat in the third row, and it was insane! I loved the movie, and yes, yes, everyone KNOWS the Joker is fantastic (RIP Heath), but the other villian doesn't get enough credit. I don't want people yelling at me for revealing spoilers, so I'll just leave it at that.
If you're going to see it, watch for Joker's 'magic trick'.

This time I'm going up to Michigan, in the Upper Penninsula. (Translation, the middle of nowhere where LOTS of fireworks are legal, or if they aren't legal, you just plain don't get caught.) So, my stepdad's parents have a cabin in the forests up there by a lake. It's really nice, if there aren't too many bugs. The thing I love about that place is the wildlife; all of the deer, birds, snakes, fish, and sometimes even bears.

Hopefully, I'll get some writing done, and maybe I'll even have another chapter of Malvagio when I get back on Sunday! I am going to draw, I'm currently working on a fanservice meme for Abel Nightroad, so watch for that, too. See y'all on Sunday!

Anyhoositts, a bunch of anime fans at my school have organized a cosplay day to take place of May 30th, the last full day of our school year. I've never been able to attend an anime convention (not this year either, see a previous journal) so having the chance to dress up will be fun. After all, Halloween has always been my favorite holiday, right up there with Xmas.

I plan on dressing up as L, and the wig is the real challenge. I've decided to style it on my own, because pre-styled internet wigs are so pricey. The way I figure it, I can get a lot of help from this: [link]
Thank you behindinfinity! I must remember, do not cut the wig with a herring. I shall attempt Ryuzaki's incredible hair and pride myself if I get anywhere close. As for the rest of it, well...
L's outfit is very simple. A long-sleeved white shirt, loose fitting, worn out jeans, and since shoes are dress code, worn Converse (which I believe my brother has). Should be a snap, right? It's only the wig I dread.... Guide my scissors, Uryuu!!

[EDIT] Ok, so I have the shirt and pants, which are in the process of being thoroughly wrinkled, I found my brother's old, beat up converse. (I had to pad them with 6 paper towels before they were close to fitting me!) I also have low cut socks so that it looks as if I'm not wearing socks with them. I even have the make-up to make me look pale, tired, and eyebrow-less. Now comes the hard part.

Tomorrow I'm going out to Chicago to look at wigs and styling spray. Wish me lucks!

Good God, I am exhausted. Because of this, please excuse all typing errors i make from now on as i am too lazy to go back and change them.

this journal shouldn't be very long, also accounting to my tired state. Italy was absolutely gorgeous, but i am too groggy to go into much detail as of yet. once i fully recover from my jetlag and my eyes recover from checking all my messages and deviations, i'll post pictures from my trip and go into detail about every city. for now though, a little taste of each:

Roma/Rome: Insane architecture of nearly incomprehensabile size, such as the Colloseum, the Pantheon, and St. Peter's Basillica. And the first two are over 2000 years old!!! My god, it was beautiful.. I'm not religious whatsoever, but the Basillica was a unique experiance. such detail in every aspect, the celing, the floor, the statues, the alter (which by itself is 3 floors high). And my choir sang in it!! the echo was phenomenal (it was so tall that letters on the celing that seemed an inch big from the ground were actually 6 feet tall each!!) and we got to sing during a mass at the vatican. wow.

Sienna: A beautiful little Tuscan city, and the site of the Palio, a semi-annual horse race between the districts of Sienna that has virtually no rules. It was very scenic, built on a hill and very quite, with a giant sqare in the center. (One of my high-points)

Firenze/Florence: A slightly more modern city, where we got to see the David and more of Michaelangelo's work. Birthplace of gelato *drooool* and the beautiful little shops everywhere. The Bapistry is an octagonal building where everyone in Florence used to be baptised, and its carved golden doors are called the Gates of Paradise. There was also this gorgeous bronze statue of Perseus (i think) killing the Medusa. All the statues of heroes/gods, such as Heraclese, Perseus, David, Neptune were completely naked...

Venezia/Venice: A truely amazing city. the winged lion everywhere in varius statues. St Marc's square, the basillica of san marco, the gold mosaics, covered in pidgeons, the gondolas, the grand canal, the Doge's Palace, the lack of cars, the reflections from the water, the glass, the history, the ancient and genius technology, it made me nearly cry.

I had a farewell concert today, meaning I spent a full 11 hours at school, and I'm so tired that I had to put on my headphones and blare Rent to keep myself from falling asleep on my half-packed luggage.

1) I will be starting a kiriban of 1000 pageviews!

That's right ladies and gentleman, I am conforming to this interesting rite of passage.
As with most kiribans, the person to be the 1000th viewer will post proof of this to me in whatever form they wish. A note, a deviation, a comment, whatever your heart desires. This lucky person can get a request drawing from me, of whatever they wish! Think of what you want, a comic, fanart, a drawing of your avatar or OC, ANYTHING!

(PS, I'm such a sucker for fun, if I like your idea, even if you don't win, I still might draw it. The difference is that the kiriban person has the ability to request something that I might not normally wish to draw.)
So be posting ideas in the comments, and whoever gets the kiriban is the one I'll draw! ^^

2) In 6 days, I will be on a plane to ITALY for a week!!

Roma, Florencia, Milano e mia amore, Venezia!!!

Our school's chorus travels out of the country every 4 years, and it was my fortune to be here for Italy!! I've dreamed of Italy for years, I even based Malvagio there because of the country's rich and ancient culture. God, I can't wait!!!

And yet, I still haven't yet completely comprehended it. It's just too big to think about right now. I've never been out of the country before, my brother beat me to that when he went on a fishing trip to Canada. But Italy... it's a whole different world.

And we get to sing in St. Peter's Basillica!!! (I have never been religious once in my life, but the sound should be amazing! *makes a happy squeeing noise*)
However, this means that I shall be gone from DA for an entire week, from sunday-sunday. I'll warn everybody again right before I go, but any comments/notes will be unanswered until I return.

3) The clutter of Acen weekend.

Ah, and now the confusion and the rant that follows. As those of you that live in the midwest already know, the Anime Central event takes place yearly from May 16th-18th. Our school's Fine Arts Festival is on the 17th, that Saterday. Normally, this meant that I could simply go to Acen on either the Friday before it, or the Sunday after that.

This was my course of thinking until my stepfather informed of tickets he has aquired for my favorite British comedian, Eddie Izzard! He's going to be in town on a tour! However, the tickets are for the mentioned Friday. Still, I was absolutely elated. I had quite a full weekend planned; Eddie one night, Fine Arts the next, and Acen the last.

Until I found out the christening date for my twin baby brothers. THAT SUNDAY!!! Now for yet another year, I am going to completely miss out on Anime Central. I've never gone, and I was finally going to this year, because my favorite voice actor, Vic Mignogna, is attending. Can you believe how much that sucks? *sigh*
Anyway, there it is. Please be eaten by the comment monster now ^^

Yesterday I had to be absent from school because my mental health was not at its best. Yesterday made me feel much better, but I really need to be there today, I'm afraid of the work I may have missed and I have important things to do after school as well, like going to my GSA (Gay/Straight Alliance) and auditioning for next year's choir.

I set my alarm, but stupid me fell back asleep for nearly an hour! I always wake my brother up when i notice he's not eating breakfast yet, but I guess he didn't feel the need to share that courtesy!! On his way out the door, I could have hit him. He just thought I was 'sick' again and didn't wake me up.

If the school was closer, I would just walk. I lack a license, so my mother would have to drive me, but right now that would mean that she would have to pack up all the babies (little sister, twin baby brothers) and take them with when most of them are still asleep. She's called in, claiming I have a doctor's appointment, because if I'm late because of anything else at all, I get a detention. WHY??

In addition to all this, I'm most likely going to miss lunch because I have it at the earliest time possible, meaning I'm going to be grouchy and hungry all day. *frustrated sigh* I won't be able to see my friends because most of them I see in the morning...
Damn!! There's nothing I can do but wait!

I've been really busy lately... or just lazy. Anyway, I finally colored my L's Little Heaven drawing! However, my Chrismas picture.... well, it's way past Xmas. It'll probably be summer by the time I color it, but I'll post it anyway.
I've been writing a story called Malvagio, which I am going to start posting soon. About a chapter a week, which should motivate me to finish it, since all I have so far is seven chapters that aren't that long...
I really have been drawing quite a bit lately, but I'll probably put most of it in scraps because a lot of it is just rough pencil drawings. I would call them sketches, but I don't think they qualify as 'sketchy'.

The music I've been singing for the past week is shockingly not Phantom... *hits self for blasphemey*
It's Victor/Victoria, a wonderful little musical about a woman pretending to be a cross-dressing man in order to be taken seriously. My favorite song is sung by Toddy, her old-ish, gay friend, and it's called ' Paris by Night '. There's just something about the liquidity of that song that makes it stuck in your head in a good way. It's even made me want to make a music video with Erik, so once I figure out how, I just might! ^^

Two or three days ago I got sick for whatever reason and was quarentined in my room, restricted from the TV or computer. SO HORRIBLY BORED OUT OF MIND. I didn't even have my sketchpad up there... However, I was able to begin reading a book about Groucho Marx, one of my favorite actors. His classic comedy has yet to be duplicated. ^^ This and a tiny portable DVD player with Shrek 2 and The Incredibles in it kept me sane through the hours. (I would have preferred Rent and Phantom, but one has been borrowed and the other is mysteriously gone courtesy of my little sister.)
On Christmas Eve my family goes to a grandparents house and we have a party for distant relatives of my mother's side. As i watched my cousins get clothes and pretty sculptures of dragons, my brother and I got chocolate and money. I can't decide whether to be put off or happy that I have more funds for my chorus trip to Italy in the spring.

I have been working on a christmas picture featuring all of my favorite characters from books, movies, and anime and manga. I apologize, but it will most likely not be done in time for christmas... I won't go into detail, but I will give a list of the characters I shall include:

That last one is because I have to include my favorites from many different time periods of my life... plus Ash started me on anime ^^

Kya! I feel like a horrible person! ^^ I got the Sweeny Todd film soundtrack, and in it, there is a whole song about what kind of people are the best flavors for meat pies. I was laughing as Mrs. Lovett was discribing how poet is good, but you can never tell when it's dead. Mr. Todd said that actors always arrive overdone; I laughed even harder.

I tend to focus more on emotion and proportion than shading and color... ^^ If I feel confident enough, I may even do some fanart.
The story is vast and complex, and I'll tell tidbits of it when I release new pictures to explain them.
