[I have returned!]

Back again, back again, jigidy-jig. Ashy and I are back from our appartment hunt and I is back on the job of getting my artwork done and my website up and runnin'.

After my website's purchessed and such, I intend to put up a resume for some more animation and commission gigs as well as finish "Dancing One".

This summer certainly has been an eventful one, though I suppose the summer before moving away from your family and going to a college a considerable distance from what your accustom to is tough on everyone in this possition. It's exciting and terrifying all rolled into one. I feel a lot better about it right now because my boyfriend's returning from his overseas vacation. Yay!

Moving on, here are some things I think you all outta know! One of our deviant pals, , is having a successful recovery after last week's emergency surgery. She's still feeling kinda war-torn from the whole ordeal, so be sure to send her lots of love.

Also, my art block is finally over with (Tsubasa helped bring me back) and I'm feeling a lot better about myself. Got a lot of work to get done in a short amount of time, but be on the look out for some updates on "Dancing One", "Hollow Souls", and my list of commissions.

Alright...so I've got like 1,000+ deviations and journals to look through and I'm knocking through about a hundred a day coupled with uploading some ACTUAL art work! :gasp: I know. I need to get off my lazy ass and upload. It's not like I haven't been drawing...I just haven't been uploading or drawing anything to 'wow' over. I think this current piece I'm working on but had put on the back burner for so long, 'Tsubasa' is really coming along. That and Vicky's poster. I'm doing it 100% in Prisma Marker. I'll try and upload a snap shot of it when I get on next.

I need to practice more with markers...

I know I've been gone forever, but I have good reason! I have officially graduated highschool and have been spending the past week or so in final-exam recovery.

Yep! It's all over folks! Now on to college and freedom of artistic expression! :shouts for joy:

I will miss highschool though. I had some damn good teachers, especially in my animation class. It's really given me a real leg up. My gratitude is boundless.

Among other things, I've been working on a commercial for Wolf Finance (Wealth Opprotunity Leverage Finance).

It's been an outstanding opprotunity for me. I've done commission work before, but this was my very first animation piece.

I'm officially a professional, hot damn.

Ironic that my very first animation gig would be animating wolves, no? I really appreciate how John Bonacci portrays them in such a positive light, a very rare thing to find and equally cool.

My final assessment: Job was fun, pay was good, and both my bosses Jake and John were really kind to me. Twas a pleasure to work with them.

I'm going to be using some of the money I got from my last job to buy my own server and start up a professional website for my art. I'll still keep my deviant account, It's just high time that I started my own website is all.

I'm going to be going an entirely different direction with Hollow Souls. I'm thinking an easier website layout, but not sure yet. I'm gonna be spending a lot of time with Zach talking it over, but I'm really going to be throwing my heart into it this summer, as well as my other production, "Dancing One".

1 I like to pick things up with my toes. If there's dirty laundry on the floor or something to that nature, I'll just pick it up and toss it with my toes. I'm quite talented, ask Ashy-Chan (Graceliss).

2 I love to pick scaps like, compulsively. Hell, I'll pick your scabs if you give me the chance.

3 Most girls are crazy about pop singers and what not, but I have a thing for Vincent Donofrio who plays a schizophrenic detective on Law and Order-Criminal Intent. It's not a romantic appeal (clings to my beloved Joey), but I squeal like a fan-girl everytime he's on TV.

4 If anyone says the word, 'itch' I'm compelled to start scratching. I'm actually scratching right now just typing the word. I hate Vicky (Nikita-Pup) for all the hell she's put me through. --;

5 I'm a closet romantic, I mean I'm REALLY big on romance. My beloved has managed to drag that out of me with the help of Vicky (nikita-pup).

Important Notice


To my friends on Deviantart: I have been soo busy lately that I can't tell which end is up! School, Dancing One, Deviantart, getting a job, scholarships, loans, difficulties...it's all pileing up fast. To the point, in order to save myself time and stress I've deleted the 2,000+ deviations, journals, comments, etc. and started a new. I'm really sorry about that, it's just too overwhelming for me to handle right now.

Prints


I've desided to start a print account soon. I need money for college and I will be re-opening my commissions.


Scholarship Results


The moment you've all been waiting for. My college has sent me notice that they will be paying for one-third of my education, a total of 24,000 dollars over the four years I'm attending. That's 6 thousand a year total.

I still have a ways to go to get all the money I need, but I've been sending in for more scholarships and am getting a job soon to help.

I'm fairly pleased with what I got, and am extremely pleased with my work; I feel with everything life's been throwing at me that I did pretty damn close to my current best for that scholarship. I still think I could have done a few things better, but I'm proud non-the-less.


Dancing One Status


I'm still in the modeling phase. :screams: I wanted to be animating by now, but life has that tendency of getting in the way.

Right now I'm working on the model for the character, "Suka".

Most of my deviations in the next couple of weeks will be updates to how that production is going. I hope to upload a few teasers to boot. ^_~


Hollow Soul's Status


Hollow Soul's is on the back burner. I've desided to take it a step back into pre-production with concept work, etc and try launching the comic when I have more time to spend on it.

Edit: Poop. I'm so sick of things not working out! Arg, life you crazed mistress ye!

Firstly, I don't find out about the scholarship for another month. Bummer? Most definately. Secondly, I'm gonna go a whole new angle with Hollow Souls; YET AGAIN!!!! :Crowd would gasp if they were surprized. X_X: I've desided to get all pre-production work finished before I start the comic. I know, I know. "Lauren, why the hell didn't you think of that the first time?"

BECAUSE! I was so excited! I've been working on the story itself for ages and....

Yeah; ambitious me jumped into the big part of the pool before I was ready.

So here's whats going to happen. There will be Hollow Soul's updates; yes indeed. But they will mostly be comprised of Production Art uploads and member discussions.

Secondly, the beginnings not going to be some boring dialog. The Dialog is still vital, but I'm gonna make that take place a little later in the story. What we need is a hook...WHICH I HAVE! BWAHAHAHA! And I ain't tellin' what it is. ^_^

THIRDLY! Over all thirdly, not Hollow Soul's Thirdly. I wanna make more progress with "Dancing One". It's the number one priority. That and I have some backed up gift art I want to get finished as well as touching up a few WIP.

I know, I know. What are you all ever going to do with me? (Tar n' feathers DOES fall under the cruel and un-usual punishment clause of the eighth amendment so don't even think it.)

I'm so very happy! No school alone is sheer rapture! Today, I read a book. READ A BOOK!!!! Do you know how long it's been since I've had time to just do that??? How long it's been since I went down to the book store to hang out with my closest friends and mingle? It's paradise.

These past couple of days have been so important to me because I've always wanted to make a difference useing my artwork. I can actually help Lolita and fight captivity using something I'm making. I feel good about myself. I feel...I feel fullfilled. Also, I'd really, really like to thank my dear friend Vicky. Oh God, thank you so much for your reaction. Your like the only person I've told the main plot of Hollow Soul's to and when you started crying...Just the fact that I was able to move that kind of emotion out of someone has sparked new confidence in me. That had a very powerful and profound effect on me; I can never thank you enough.

So yeah, Thanks to everone who's been so kind to me and has watched my gallery and my artwork. High school's fun and all, but it takes up so much time and you've all been so patient for me to upload and get my work done. I feel like I can really do this. A big to all my friends and the people who believe in me, you've made me one of the richest people in the world.

Still feelin' the withdraw of portfolio...mostly because I've been pulling more all nighters to keep my grades up. My school was very supportive of me. They let me pull out of my regular classes in order to finish my portfolio.

I'm still scared spitless of March 15th (Portfolio Scholarship Notification).

Anyway, I've aquired quite a bit of make up work with the several days I've missed coupled with two animation collaborations; one with my animation teacher and the other with my talented friend Zoe'. Tis a wholllleee lotta stuff to swallow. Not that I'm complaining though.


The reason I'm posting this journal is to let everyone know that Hollow Soul's will be updated soon(Assuming nothing gets in the way). As will my deviant account with some new artwork and such. Spring Break is a blessing for those of us who wish to complete personal projects.

Still, I have another week to go before Spring Break so I apologize in advanced for my mild absence from deviantart. I WILL get through those deviations! They've stacked up to nearly 2,000, but I PROMISE to go through them all including journals, comments, and favs. Me loves my deviant pals.

So yes. Still going to be gone briefly from the DA scene, but expect me back come Spring Break.

My portfolio...it is done. :falls over dead:

After five all-nighters, an average of 3 to 5 hours of sleep via afternoon naps, tag-teaming with Ashleigh in order to keep each other awake, several panic attacks, essay writing, recommendation retrieveing, and all the drama that comes with the scholarship....it has been sent.

Yesterday, February 25, Ashleigh and I sent out our portfolio's together. Twas liberating.
I feel so good now that it's over. Scared, but good. Yet, despite how nervious the both of us our feeling, I think the spirits are on our side. On the same day that we sent the portfolio out, Stella gave birth to her new calf whom I believe is a little girl.

Bweee! Tis very encourageing. I don't think God would have put the dream of animation into my heart without the intent of me fulfilling it. Such logic has helped me calm down a bit, but I'm still very, very nervous.


In other news, I'm thinking about selling prints. My friend thinks I should sell prints of my piece:



I'm absolutely ecstatic that she thinks enough of the piece to buy a print; I will strongly consider it.

In the mean time, aside from buying a print account, my deviant subscription is almost up so I'll have to contend with that first.

A big :glomp to all my friends for their wonderful support during my portfolio crisis. I will be spending a LOT, LOT more time on Hollow Souls now as well as my senior project. So look forward to lots more uploads and updates as well as me getting through my backed up 1,600 deviations. ^^

I really wanted to get through some of my backed up deviations this weekend...I also wanted to finish some of my pictures for my portfolio.

But no.

Damn it. I'm so fookin' pissed. Some hacker got into my system and left me a nice little virus, can you guess which one? I'll give you a hint, it COMPLETE ate my system. Ate it and digested it.

Lucky for me I have friends in High places. God bless you Amy. Amy the wonder-girl came over and manages to salvage a file I wanted before she completely wiped my computer clean. Wiping the computer's usually just a press of the button, but when there's no system it gets kinda tricky. So after seven hours of going through boot menus, reloading the software, and stuff like that I was finally able to have my computer back.

I was most fortunate. Amy and I popped the lid on my tower and nothing had melted yet. I've busted up my mother board before, it would suck if I fucked it up again. X_X True, this time wasn't my fault, but it's still no fun to spend money.

I'm so damn giddy right now I can hardly contain it! ^_^

My county just had it's first annual multimedia festival and I placed in all the catagories I entered! :exicited:

"El Chupacabra" took 1st place in 2-D animation, "Tsuki" took second place in 3-D animation, and finally I submitted a 3-D karate rotoscope that took second place in 3-D effects/rotoscoping catagory.

EEE! I'm still so excited! And the trouphy I won is bloody cool! Tis a glass prisim that has three, alternating lights shine from the bottom with the contest's logo and title ingraved on the inside.

I'll have to submit a picture of it in my scraps some time.

A big congradulations to all my friends who also placed in the contest and a BIG thanks to all my deviant friends for all their patience and support!

Right now I'm still working on the finishing touches to my portfolio, but the next couple of pieces I do for portfolio will be posted on deviant to share with all my deviant friends and fans.

I have 1100 deviations to go through....holeh crap. Trust that I'll get to work on those and a big apology to all my friends who's screen name starts with letters at the bottom most part of the alphabet. It's gonna take awhile to get down there.

Sorry everyone. I did knock down my deviations to like 400 about a week ago. It's nearly 700 now. I just don't have time. I've been drawing my ass off like tomarrow's never gonna come and I'm wondering if I can have everything done by the twenty seventh like I want.

The Hollow Soul's Site is finally UP!

edit: I accidently cut some of the text off the intro page but that was fixed. Sorreh bout that.

It only took me forever, but at least it's up! True, not all the web art's finished for the different catagories and we had to re-use some of the webart for that area, but that will be fixed within the month!

Zach did such a bloody good job on this.

ALSO! The introduction has been posted! It's the only thing from the original version that I kept so everything following it will be brand spankin' new!

I'm not sure when we'll start putting the new pages together, but it'll be rather soon so no worries. ^^

Merry Christmas!

I hope all my friends on Deviantart had a very Merry Christmas! Sorry I've been gone again for so long, the holidays beckon me to stay off the computer and spend quality time with the people I love. Not that I don't love my deviant pals, it's just important that I spend time with family. ^^

Well Christmas is official over so I can officially get back to bussness. I'll try to upload a late Christmas animation if I get the opprotunity but the majority of my efforts will be going into portfolio development and Hollow Souls.

Yep! That's right! Hollow Soul's is getting back on track and with it a contest!

The contest will be officially announced on January first, I hope your all looking forward to it as much as I am.

It's Done!!!!! Chupacabra! My Flash animation that I have poored so much love and sweat into, the very animation that has cost me several nights of lost sleep is finally done!

The music, the sound effects, the animation...I am so happy.

I would like to thank all my dearest friends for helping me with this venture and a big heapin' THANK YOU to Aly for finding the PERFECT (let me emphasize) PERFECT music for the job! You rock!

Now I just have to deside whether or not to upload it or not. This animation was created for scholarships and competition so I dunno if I ought to upload it to deviant or wait till this season's contests are finished.

Let me sleep on it.

In the mean time I'll be working on commissions, past work, and the 667 deviations that I've neglected.

I'm so sorry for my absence on deviantart! I have a contest deadline coming up soon and I only have three scenes left to before I finish Chupacabra! That's three out of fourty-eight. This flash animation was an incredible venture and I'm very proud of myself. Wish me luck in the upcoming contests and all the contests that Chupi enters this year! (And there will be a lot of'em. ^_~)

I've experienced another epiphany regarding my time management skills, or lack thereof.

It happened while working on a promised contest entry for Kira and has been proding my mind ever since.

I'm tired and the work and stress is mounting. I never have time to work on Hollow Souls and I need to throw myself deeper into my animations. I really want, no need, to get done with Chupacabra and I really want to focus on pieces for my portfolio that reflect me.

I had fun working on Kira's piece, but I would have had a lot more fun working on it if I didn't have other things that need to be done.

Firstly, let me apologise to my friends that I'll be letting down. I'm sorry. I have this terrible habbit of wanting to please everyone and I can't do that any more. From this moment on I will nolonger be taking requests, art trades, or taking on any more contests. There will be the occasional exception to these rules so you can still feel free to ask, just don't expect much.

Also, I'm cutting down my extensive list of things I'm taking on to only five pending pictures that I'm about to post.

My time on Deviantart per day will be significantly less, but I will still go through deviations, comment, and be around to help out to the extent that I'm able.

Now for the updates and such, these are all subject to change but don't get your hopes up.

I'm more then certain I don't have to explain the crap load of work that comes with missing a week of school so I won't bother emphasizing.

However, I do really want to have a game plan set up so I chisle away at this mess I've made. X_X

Hey Everyone,

Sorry I haven't been on the internet much this week. I'm afraid I've come down with a touch of pneumonia. My apologies go out to my deviant friends as well as my real life ones. And Ashy-chan, no worries. I wouldn't miss you and Leah preform for the world. ^^

So anyways, been realleh sick and so I have roughly a weeks worth of homework to catch up on and 400 some odd deviations to go through. X_X

That's about all I have to say regarding that, however, do expect a deviation within the next day or so. It won't be anything big, I just felt like drawing Tsuki up a bio sheet for the pack Kira and I are working on ([link]).

*note- I gotz a crazy cool idea for my entry in your contest, Kira. Can't wait to get it started.

Mad love to all my companions and I'm terribly sorry for my absence. Know that I wasn't trying to ignore anyone, I just haven't had the energy for answering so many deviations and such.
