It's been a while since I've been on. I've had some major problems with my computer, internet, and been frustrated with my camera. The computer now has a backup (i.e. laptop), I have internet again, and I miss my camera so I'm hoping to spend more serious time with it again.

I need to get ahead on my schoolwork and then I'll go through some of my photos to put up. I'm taking an art appreciation class this semester and I have to say it's been much more enlightening than I expected it to be. Well that's all for now. Just wanted to say hi again.

So I pop the trunk to pull out the spare. I get the spare out and start to close the trunk to discover there is something wrong. Hmm. The one side won't go down right. Turns out the most necessary part of the hinge broke. Aye, what fun. Of course I didn't have anything to tie down the trunk with, but I finally was able to push the hydraulic in enough to put the trunk down so that the other hydraulic was wedged so it would stay down.

As I'm driving home I realize that the only thing keeping people out of the car now would be my back seats. Wouldn't it be lovely to go out to my car tomorrow to find that it would only take 5 secs to get through the seats or something like that? So I unloaded my entire car into my living room. Including my tire from the trunk. Remember my spare is on the car, this is a regular sized tire and I live UPstairs and have beige carpet. Then I had the trunk light to deal with. Can't leave it on all night to drain the battery. So I went through the fusebox pulling fuses hoping to find the right one, but strangely I couldn't find it. So I broke the cage around the light and pulled the light. Good night.

I started the day off at church. After church I noticed that the hinge wasn't wedged well enough and I was afraid of it bending my trunk. So off the trunk lid went. Up the stairs and into my living room with the rest of my car junk. Got the tire fixed and then off to my Dad's house to get his thoughts on how to deal with this trunk thing. So out came the trunk lid. And where would a trunk lid ride on such a trip? Well in the front seat of my car naturally. It took a couple tries, but I finally figured out how to get it in there. LOL This whole ordeal must have looked quite funny to onlookers.

The kicker is today was a vacation day. And what better way could there be then to spend it getting my car fixed? 2hours getting a new tire. Another 2 to get my trunk closed. And it's still not fixed. It's just shut. All and all it wasn't so bad I was pretty fortunate. It looks like this whole think will only cost about $80 including the tire. Now I suppose I should actually look at those pictures and see if they were worth the money. I'll be looking for more pics to add after (or when) I get my galleries uploaded on my site. I have like 3 meets to go through. Though I seemed to have lost the two cds from the last meet. There aren't many good action pics though. I switched to the better jpg setting and my cards are too slow to handle it. I have just ordered a 60GB portable storage device which I'll have by the next meet and hopelly I'll be able to take more than one shot at a time (a real bummer in gym). Hopefully this Wolverine storage device is all I hope it will be and more.

Then there's the Digital photography. I've NEVER taken a photography class and I'm a little scared to. I'm sure I'll learn lots but then you always hear these horror stories of how people who love art take an art class and then have the love sucked out of them. Then again I am sure some of those stories are about those people who think they are the cream of the crop when really they just never had competition and everyone LOVED their work. Then of course some are those crazy teachers who think it's their duty to tell students how much they suck instead of trying to motivate people.

The good news is the NCAA gymnastics season has officially begun. We are now in week 2!! The first home meet is next Sunday so hopefully I'll have something for you by Tuesday. The kick off is ASU vs Arizona what could be better? Ok Arizona winning.

Oh and next Sat is my birthday.

I had been trying to get on the school paper a couple weeks ago and got to the last meeting. So Yesterday was my first assignment. Volleyball. I haven't ever shot it before. I knew it's fast paced, but dang, it took me most of the game for me to figure out what to do. I started off with a lot of hand shots, not the interesting artistic kind either. Then I realized I didn't really remember anything about volleyball since refreshing myself hours before so I had no clue how many periods or sets they had. So I started to freak so I worked on getting so decent serves and all. It went uphill after that. Though I am not very impressed with most of what I got. Then add in the fact that I am not really sure what the heck I am doing lol. I took a lot of it in ISO 1600 till I realized it might be too grainy for them. Hopefullly I am just totoally overanalyzing everything. I mean come on I am not shotting for SI and this is my first time at volleybally or access like this.

So coming up this weekend is my choice of Diving, Jr college Soccer, Arizona Soccer Friday and Sunday, Ethnic meet yourself festival thingy, Wallace and Gromit moive and working on my car that failed emissions. I am going to try 6 out of 7. Going to knock jr college soccer out cause it's not Arizona, it's men's and so far away. We'll see how this goes cause the car is going to take a several hours. The real trick? Not getting sunburned. Cause all of that, but the movie is outside.

On the bright side I should have some new material to submit from the Diving. I am fairly sore from shooting the volleyball game (squatting), but if I feel ok on Sunday, I am thinking of trying to shot soccer for my practice.

Getting a new keyboard is no big deal right? Like they are pennies at the local store. Alas not that easy my dear friends. I had just a few weeks ago spent an hour or so perfectionisticly (so many suffixes should be wrong and probably is

) putting on my red little Cyrillic letter friends. After a while I got the hang of it and they were beautiful man, but fate had a cruel course for them in such short time.

They were too young to die man!

The devil is out to get me methinks.

***I am thinking of trying to go to photography school. It's more money than I have ever had saved up. So if I want to go I better tighten the belt as much as it will go. I have dropped the extended cable. It won't save me too much, but it's better than nothing.

I have even thought of dropping internet every other month once school starts. I haven't decided yet. The biggest part of getting the money will depend on bonuses. I will save all of them I get from now on for school. If they are like last year that should be half of the money when added to what I already have, but of course it is possible it would be less. Or more. It's anyone's guess.

Anyone want to donate some money?

Oh and I entered a photo of the month contest for a newletter from work. If I win I get a messenger bag.

I am hoping they didn't cancel it since it wasn't in the last newletter. I sent in "Aquatic Explosion". Hope I win. I was wanting a bag like that in hopes that it would make life easier than a backpack.

*music lowers as narrator kicks in* And the yound lad wanted to surrender, but remembered his ninja oath and tried. He ate every ant who came near. He was very gratefull they were large black ants instead of the tiny sort. He was very glad when night came, for the stupid brown beetles where more satisfying. He tried to put the license plate on, but quickly grew too weak after the ants and beetles declared the zone to be a bramuda triangle of sorts. The young lad died of heat stroke and starvation. In his last minutes he had screwed the plate to the tree nearby, declared he had mastered the way and collapsed. The moral to the story is threefold.
1. Sleep under the car during the hottest part of the day and work at night.
2. Let a few insects return home otherwise they get suspicious and thus your supply of food is cut off.
3. Be smarter than the license plate.

lol yeah the story sucks. Anyways, I tried to put my "vanity" license plate on today and couldn't figure it out. I don't understand how it is possible to put it on. The plate and frame aren't drilled in the same spot as my car. So I have this other weird thing. But I can't see how to put the license plate and frame to this thing or put it on the car. It appears you can only do one or the other cause the license plate and frame cover the location of the screw that attachs to the car.

Apparently I am too stupid for such a task, but I know it's possible cause I pulled the weird thingy and the washington plate off a couple years ago. Since it was so long ago I, of course, don't remember how it went on.

I feel like an idiot.

I fell in the lake last weekend and skinned my knee. It kept bleeding and kept drying out too much so I put some anti-biotic on it. I went out and bought Band-Aid brand Band-Aids cause I can't wear the others for they tear off my skin off where the bandaid was when I take off the bandaid. Well, guess what turns out I am allergic to some bandied brand Band-Aids too besides sheer.

Yet there is not way for me to know what the heck I am allergic to cause there are NO ingredients. No problem I will just try Band-Aids until I find one that won't itch and finally rip my skin off when I notice it is itching. I mean it's not like once I find one, they will never change the ingredients right? :sigh: Who should I write? The FDA?

And before you say it the hypo-allergic ones don't stick once you hint at sweating. So don't say it unless you know one that will endure so wetness cause there will be wetness in June in Arizona no matter what.

First, I had this dream that at work there was a lock down. Only three of us could go anywhere we wanted. So we had to go around and figure out why it was in a lock down. I work at a radio station and in the dream it was like a huge convention center foyer and there were like a hundred employees who worked there whereas in reality there is only about 8 people in the office. So me and this other guy go looking around trying to figure out what is wrong and even venture outside cause there was something wrong with the "generator", which looked much like a satellite dish. While out there we got the feeling by things we could hear the police say, there were hostages inside. So we stroll back in to tell the boss. After telling him. We went around everywhere trying to find someone or something.

Then I have this other dream:
Me and this girl from my Russian class were rushing to our homes for some reason. As I was going home I past her house, but in my dream I lived about two streets closer than her so I turned around. I went farther and passed her house again. So I turned around. Then I passed by the place I had started from. So I turned around and passed the girl's house again. Finally I saw a vacant lot so I parked for a second to see what I was doing wrong. I realized my old boss's car and his wife's car were in the lot too which I thought was weird since they weren't anywhere around. Then my old boss strolls over and says, "are you lost?". I said yes grimly. And started to explain when suddenly I was awoken by the phone.

I saw it was 9:15am
"Hello"
"Hey. Were you coming in today?"
Pause..."No"
"You aren't coming in today?"
"Umm no"
Pause
"Going into work?" I asked.
"Yeah"
"No?"
I tried to remember if I agreed to an extra shift that I forgot about.
"Did you tell me?"
I think I said "no" and then I think he asked "you didn't tell me?"
My boss sound confused or something.
Then it hit me.
"Oh crap!! It's Sunday!! I'm so sorry"

I am suppose to be at work at 6AM!!! AHHHH!!!! I have worked the shift for over a year.

With the strong feeling of confusion from my dreams I had no idea what day it was. I guess my body knew that something was wrong and trying to figure it out in the dreams, because I am sure that the first dream must have been around 7 or 8am. Crazy!!

What stupid people we are. We are like trees we start off as little seeds and start to grow. We look at the people next to us expecting the same growth as them. Not realizing we may not be the same kind of tree as them. They might be a tree which shoots up quickly at first, but never grows very tall. While we may be a tree that sends out a complex root system first to make sure we are grounded then grow steadily to a towering height.

Some of us get so frustrated watching the people around us surpassing us that we don't tend to ourselves like we should. Sending ourselves into a drought. Tress in drought don't grow as tall and are scrawny, if neglected of nutrients long enough it will die. How many of us are living in drought at a puny height simply because we think we are a small tree? How many of us were destined to be twenty feet tall, but allowed ourselves to be discouraged by a naysayer?

but I was an idoit and saved a smaller size over the original long ago

So I don't know it's even possible. Plus the plant isn't perfectly in focus I think.

I took it out to a diving and swim meet today to test it out. And try to get some practice with it before I take it to the gymnastics meet. I was worried that it would be too heavy for me to get anything. I was very pleased to learn that as long as I make sure to rest my wrist between dives I was good. I was so scared I would strain my wrist or arm.

So this was my first attempt ever at capturing diving and swimming. I wasn't always thinking so well on the background. I have a couple pictures that I really like but could have been a lot better had I just moved over for that dive. (I needed a different place to stand for the 1M and 3M boards.) I have posted some pics and will probably post more later. Gymnastics season is finally here! Last week Arizona beat ASU. ASU is our biggest rivial in any sport. It was pretty darn cool cause ASU is a tough team. Arizona hasn't beat them in a dual meet in 4 years or more. So it was pretty awesome to see them win. And on my birthday no less.

This week I am going to go up to ASU to watch the ASU vs UCLA meet so I can practice some more photography. And to scope out UCLA. So there should be some new gym pictures up next week. I am thinking about renting a lens for it. I was thinking about buying a lens if I get my next bonus and if it is large enough so I thought I'd try it out.

I discovered that still life is a good way to learn your camera. You have control of the scene that you have to decide how it will go. The lighting coming through the window was kind of poor today so I managed to learn a few tricks to get a better picture in lower light.

I think I should do some more still life so that I can learn more of the basics. Try more with a manual focus, trying out different compositions, aperatures, shutter speeds, over and under exposing. I think I have already learned several tricks that will help me out with gymnastics photography.

So today I was walking along minding my own buisness when I seee this paper on the ground as I pass by my eyes say "yo wasn't that some cash?"
My Brain "Naw dude, did you see the number? It said 20. I must have been some play money."
Eyes "Man are you sure? I could have swore it was real cash."
Brain: "Well now that you mention it is didn't really look like any play money I have seen. Let check it out on the way back in 30 seconds."
So I pick it up. "wow feels like real money. But it must be fake. I never find money on the ground. My luck it is probably funny." But to the best of my knowledge it's not. Hidden pictures are there. the on 20 in the corner is reflective. Woo hoo

I found $20. (Hope you enjoyed this voyage in my brain. lol)

I didn't get to go anywhere for pictures on Saturday as I had hoped. I went to some party thing at a waterpark with my mom, sister and my sister's fiance's family.

Sunday I went to Arizona Soccer again. Two wins ago they made the (school) record for the most wins in a season. Woo hoo I am good luck in NCAA. First Gymnastics now soccer.

They should make me their mascot.

After Soccer, I went out to Saguaro National park. Decided to try to go farther on that same trial. But I forgot to get gas and wasted a good 30min going back out to get gas. Then in normal Morella fashion I got turned around and made some wrong turns which wasted another 15.

So I didn't get out there untill just before 5. Not leaving as much time as I had hoped.

The college doesn't have classes at a time that I can make it. I get off at 5:30 and that will prabably change to 6:00 soon. The latest class starts at 5:40 and it more than 10mins away.

I will have to check the university but unless it is an early class it probably won't help much. I was finaly really getting the hang of it and it is almost done.
