I'm following in the (very fast, she's a runner) footsteps of and switching accounts. I don't really like using this name because I no longer cosplay JUST Yuna, the name is 3 years old and just no longer relevant to my costumes, stories, or artwork.

I've already gone through and deleted most of the deviations on this name and will be uploading the important ones on my new account. I left some of my IDs and a tutorial in case people still need to refer to it.

I'm thinking about commissioning myself to do cosplay costumes. I've offered my services to several people in the past who turned me down (due to lack of cash flow, understandable), and a few for free.

Unfortunately I can no longer offer my services for free, as one too many people have taken advantage of this. Too often have I sunk myself into making a costume, buying the wig, materials, etc., only to find out on my own that the other person doesn't want to wear/can't wear the costume anymore. I'm sorry - I used to be okay with doing this, but I can't afford it anymore.

I like to think my own costumes are pretty detailed, and I know I'd be able to put that same effort into a costume for another. My plan is to charge an initial deposit of $30, which will go towards supplies and whatnot, then the rest would be calculated based on the complexity, and how much time I had to put into it.

Before I decide to go into this, though, would you hire me??

I posted this question on Yahoo Answers yesterday, with no luck. I could really use some help - I have no clue what's wrong with this.

My copy of The Sims 3 won't run. I recently ran a destructive restore on my computer, and reinstalled this game (which was working perfectly before). I installed the latest DirectX drivers, and the game ran fine. I changed my in-game graphics settings and quit, but when I went to start the game again, it wouldn't run. After I click "play" from the game launcher, the screen goes black like it's going to load (though the taskbar is still visible) and it stops and takes me back to my desktop. I've tried reinstalling the Sims 3, reinstalling DirectX, and restarting my computer, and nothing works. What should I do??

Additional notes: The Sims 2 also doesn't work, but other games I have (like Spore and The Movies) work. I have an Emachine, and have installed an nVidia GeForce 8400 GPU video card.

PLEASE! I could really use any bit of advice/help.

My computer was becoming infected with a virus, I think. So I went ahead and ran a system restore to go back to a date when my computer wasn't infected. By doing so, I somehow lost 2+ years worth of pictures, documents, games, game files, music, videos, and stories that I can't get back.

Maybe next time I'll learn to back my files up.

I'm not sure, actually. Maybe Genesis. Most I know take an immediate dislike to him just because he's directly based off Gackt, and I don't like Gackt but I like Genesis...its weird.

Oh geez...just one? Really? Umm...probably Zack. He's the only one manly enough. Or Rufus because he's really smooth and pretty.

My aunt and I left on Sunday morning and headed down to Missouri. It was supposed to be a 10-hour trip, but thanks to the change from Eastern to Central time, and my aunt's need for speed, it only took about 8. Sunday was uneventful for the most part, aside from almost getting trampled at Ted Drewes Frozen Custard. That place was PACKED! But I got my Cookie Dough Concrete Custard and a T-Shirt, so it wasn't all that bad.

Monday we got up and left for Branson, which was hotter that St. Louis! We of course had to go during the southern heat wave, which I'm not used to living next to the lake farther north. We went to the Titanic Museum, which I could not have been happier for!! I always wanted to go, and silly me, I totally forgot it was in Branson until we got there and I started hearing commercials for it on the radio. We even got those cool audio tour guide things you hold up to your ear when you get to an exhibit. The museum though! It was absolutely amazing, and so big! I even geeked out like the fangirl I am when I saw all of Kate Winslet's dresses from the movie behind 50,000 layers of glass. I wanted to touch them so bad, or at least take pictures, but unfortunately they don't let you do either in there. I'm a big Titanic buff, one of the things I'm less-known for, but I went there and had an amazing time.

That night we went to see Legends in concert, basically a bunch of really good impersonators doing the Blues Brothers, Marilyn Munroe, The Temptations, Gretchen Wilson, and Elvis. (The Elvis was a great singer, but he didn't quite have the face for it.)

Tuesday we went to the Silver Dollar City, just a wild west-themed amusement park with some awesome roller coasters. One coaster, the Powder Keg, I went on three times. Once with my cousin, the second time with my aunt, and the third time with my cousin again. (The second time was the most amusing...the guy in front of me kept yelling "YOU'RE SO AWESOME! YOU'RE DOING GREAT!") After the third time I started getting a headache so I stopped. They had a bunch of cute shops though, like a taffy store, a candle store that smelled like crayons (wax, duh ) a leather store, a bakery, a jerky store...it was all just very fun. We even saw a few shows while we were there.

Wednesday we just spent getting some last-minute things done around Branson. I went back to the Titanic Museum and got this ADORABLE bear based off Polar, the Titanic bear, which has a story behind it. In 1912, the family of Daisy Corning Spedding, including her young son Douglas - and his Steiff bear "Polar" - survived the Titanic's fateful voyage. Unfortunately, Douglas died at the age of 9 in a car accident. It still makes a great story, and one adorable bear. :3

Thursday we went back to St. Louis, and went to the Gateway Arch and the Grand/Great Basin...I can't remember. It was hot, there was a lot of water, and my aunt almost got to touch a hungry crane.

Friday was 10 hours on the road and back home! Now here I am. Surely!


Okay, MJ. Seriously?? I don't even think there was this much media coverage when Kennedy was assassinated! Plus, Farrah died the same day, after battling one of the most rare forms of cancer for over 3 years (right?), and she was a strong woman with the talent and courage to back it up! Michael Jackson had some talent, yeah, but lets face it...he was hotter when he was black. He was ALWAYS in the news, and I'm not trying to be mean, but I got really sick of hearing about his death really fast, especially when I was at my cousin's place and saw it on every channel, over REAL world news, for hours. Geez. Yeah, I liked Michael, I had nothing against him, but...come on. We got plenty of him when he was alive.

Of course, big cons like these always leave me farther in the hole than I'd like, and I'd like to know if I opened commissions, would people actually want one? They wouldn't be expensive since I don't consider myself to be very good. Lineart would be pretty cheap, and anything colored wouldn't be much more than that. I would love more practice with this new style I've adapted too, so let me know if that would be a good idea or not.

OH, and for those of you who were wondering in my last journal, the "Raynger" in my name is a running joke between my friend and I involving Yevon turning into the worship of Chuck Norris and all his followers being his "Rangers". I am doing MUCH better today, for many a reason. I have paints now, thanks to the most awesome lady I know: who bought me, not only the Reno jacket that I'll be wearing to Tekkoshocon, but acrylic paints as well with which to fix my Midna suit! :happydance:

Also, I JUST found out that I was one of the lucky 30 people to be accepted into the finals at the Tekkoshocon AMV contest!! Only one of my videos was accepted (which is bogus because there's a few other people who submitted two or three videos, all of which got accepted), and yes I just used the word "bogus", but I'm SOOO happy that my video made it. Its made of awesome and stuff. So of course I have to be there early on Friday to make it to the contest and see my video, and BOY do I hope it wins something!

So this is part of the reason why I'm in such a disgustingly good mood.

I'm in the works of planning a FFX photo shoot here where I live. I'm making/fixing the costumes for it as well, like with my Lulu's dress, and I'm helping my Tidus actually make his costume while he's home for Spring Break. (He's wanted to make one for awhile but never really got around to it because of school.)

So far I only have three people confirmed for this, myself included. Bascially the photo shoot will be done at Lake Erie, and/or any other beach in the surrounding area we can get to, and will be a photo session and hopefully the creation of the Live Final Fantasy X Vocal Collection (basically videos taken with my camera, put to the music either in its original Japanese format or re-recorded by my cast in English). We may also take to other locations that look similar to their FFX counterparts, like that one huge, hilly field near Meadville that looks like the Calm Lands.

This is our cast as of right now. I have no hopes at all of taking a complete cast, because I don't know of many people in my area who cosplay these characters, and I don't like Kimari >_< We are also in need of a willing photographer. "Tidus" would basically be our source of transportation and I'm sure he'd be nice enough to come and get everyone so long as they fit in his car, assuming that my car still doesn't run by that time. (If it does, I have more room!!)

I also can't pinpoint a date this very moment, I just know that it will be sometime this summer, when the weather is nice and when the beaches aren't crowded out the ass. This may mean going to a few locations later in the day as well. Anyone who lives here should know how unpredictible the weather is, but I do have hopes that everyone will be avaliable on one day where the weather is just gorgeous.

It was going to be Gullwing Fairy Yuna instead, but my fellow Gullwings abadoned ship and decided to cosplay bigger and better things. Plus, I have a Roxas wig here that I styled all by myself like the big girl I am, and if I want money for the convention, I can't afford to go off and buy a new Yuna wig. Paying back these student loans have been ass-raping my wallet, seriously.

Saturday's group will be Zelda, as far as I know, with Midna, Navi, Link, and Dark Link. Sunday will be Roxas, Marluxia, Larxene (as far as I know), and Aerith from KHII. ((If I'm wrong, let me know...))

Midna is just about finished. I keep touching up the bodysuit and fused shadow every now and then, but besides that...its pretty much finished. Roxas...I have the wig and thats about it. About a week ago, I was trying to fall asleep and realized that Christmas is coming up very soon. So after a few talks with my mom, we decided we needed to get the bulk of out shopping done this weekend, or we'd be pretty screwed. We went yesterday, and it was an absolute nightmare.

We first stopped at WalMart so I could at least knock my mom off my list. Morons parked as far as the eye could see. One jackass was parked hoizontally across two spaces, and a few not-so-smart citizens were parked over the "LOADING ZONE: NO PARKING" line near the back of the building. I really hope those people got tickets, because thats just incredibly dumb. It was crowded inside, of course, and I needed to make photo prints for my mom's present. This woman, no lie, stood at the photo machine for almost a half hour, cropping all her pictures, and editing them in the store, and had a line that snaked around the register. I was lucky enough to snag a machine that didn't work, but I bumped into my friend Laura, who moved back from Kentucky a few months ago, and she was working back there so she fixed the paper jam in the printer for me.

We were checking out, my sister and I, when the last three people I wanted to see that day walked in: Chris, Ray, and Nate. Nate I don't mind so much, but Chris has always been an ass to me (especially when he became our band director in High School) and Ray has been blowing me off like yesterday's tea bags the last month and a half. They didn't even notice us until I said "Oh shit, thats Chris. ...And Ray." And my sister made a real loud animal noise, and of course they ALL looked over, and I was forced to wave, since it was too late by the time they turned around, and they had already seen me. Of course they didn't come over to say anything and kept walking, so it didn't turn out too bad.

We went to the Golden Corral for lunch, which also wasn't too bad. I had some chili and a salad...and some frozen yogurt with gummi bears and M&Ms. After that was the mall. It took us about 20 minutes to get into the parking lot, because people kept cutting other people off, and one jerk ran into the back of someone else's car, slamming their bumper. It wasn't pretty.

We got in and it was more crowded than WalMart. I almost freaked out in Spencer's because of the crowd. I started feeling compressed and trapped, and we didn't make it halfway through before I told my sister we had to leave. There were a lot of assholes there though, and one incident fuled my hate for little boys even more. ((I absolutely hate little boys, and by "little boys" I mean boys between the ages of puberty and 18.)) I was in Victoria's Secret with my brother looking for something for my mom, and some skinny-ass punky emo kid was in my way, so I said "Excuse me" and he kinda looked at me and said "Oh, you're excused." Myself, along with two or three other people in the surrounding area gave this kid a real nasty "Excuse me?" look while the kid walked off with his equally-as ugly and emo girlfriend. If I had it in me I would have said something to him. Unfortunately I couldn't think of anything to say at the time. -_- I also almost got sat on by some ugly 13-year-old with a beard and ghetto clothes.

Sorry for complaining so long, but this is why I will NEVER shop this early before Christmas EVER AGAIN!

My mp3 player is broke. My laptop is broke. The snow is broke. I'm broke. Get ready, because this next one is a real kicker, and the reason I'll shortly be selling my entire collection of Sims 2 Expansion Packs. ((Yes, I AM that desperate for money right now.)) My desktop computer did an ENTIRE system restore and erased a good 4 years of pictures, music, videos, and documents. Can't write anything until I fix the problem with Word, or until the magic document fairy swings by and grants me with OpenOffice. I can't download applications because I'm on a wireless connection that comes in through a satelite.

Things are just GREAT right now.

Well anyways, the CNA Fan Expo was fantastic! As soon as I can upload the pictures on photobucket, I'll share them with everyone. That is, unless someone ELSE who was there would like to share. WINK WINK The pics pretty much explain the trip. I chased down two Renos there, which was cool, and the one we hung out with was tons of fun. We even made a video with the Savage Bandito and saw Kate Mulgrew! Good times all around.

I'm having computer problems again. -_- I know I know, "Dump the emachine and move on to bigger and better things, Ky." I'm not quite ready to part way with my emachine yet. I left the computer turned off for 3 days, and when I turned it back on, the fan ran, but the monitor did not pick up a signal. I switched out the power supply, the computer ran for 5 minutes, then crashed again. I switch the power supply out a second time, it ran for 5 minutes, and crashed. Now each time I turn it on, it runs long enough to ask me which mode I would like to run windows in, then restarts again.

I would love some advice, as I'm not sure I'm ready to spend hundreds of dollars (again) getting it repaired, because as I said, this has happened before, and its most likely going to happen again. I can't understand why it would do this after being shut off for 3 days, and why it acts differently each time I change the power supply. Any advice?

Other than that, my parents decided to run away for a couple days and abandon me and my siblings. No matter! :3

Alright, well...the cosplay is so far so good. ::knock on wood:: Here are a few updates for people that care.

Summoner Yuna:
The skirt and belt are both painted and finished! ::applause:: Though I have my lovely grandma to thank for the sewing. She's amazing. I painted the designs on myself, and soon I'll be getting the wrap-over top. That just leaves the sleeves, then the dying and everything else is up to me. I need boots, too. So...good luck to me trying to find boots in a store in June.

KHII Kairi:
I finished the belt and purse today. How I managed to sew through leather...I have no idea. But I did it, and it was good. Thats finally done; I have to sew the hood to the tank top, and Payge took the pink part home to sew the zipper on there. That was fun, huh? ^_^ And rather interesting. Haha..zippers.

I have my Songstress dress all made, but I don't think it's coming with me to CNA. Sad, kinda, but I can wear it to the EAE Con this September if the Summoner dress falls through this summer.

I've made the Summoner skirt, kinda, and I want to get that finished this weekend with some help from my mom. I need fabric paint for the flowers, and that'll be done. But I still need to make the top, sleeves, belt, and bow, and buy boots, and all kinds of things. I'm not sure if I can or should do it...any advice from the peanut gallery??

I'm really excited for my Sora and Roxas outfits though. I'm buying the Sora one on Cosplay Magic, but when I get it it's gonna need a few alterations and things. It's really manufactured-looking, but there's no way under the sun I'm gonna be able to make something that complex. And is getting fabric for our Orgy costumes, and that's gonna be awesome too!!

So yeah, that's all I have for now. But I'm really excited and everything. Now all I need is a Namine, Kairi, or Rikku to take cute pics with! ::coughPAYGEcough:: :3
