I did mentioned that we did get a Nintendo Wii for Decemberween. As I predicted, Mom's taken to it -- with the added copy of Animal Crossing: City Folk -- like fish to a lake. Especially since she loves to fish in the Animal Crossing worlds. Sis and I've been playing it now and then as well, but since Mom and I've been monopolizing the damn thing, poor sis hasn't had much chance with it

I've been primarily trying to complete the story arch in Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility. Just finished that this evening, so I'm gonna bury it until someone else wants it.

Hey, the Wii is that addicting

and I just realized that I still have a copy of Overlord Dark Legend (for Wii) I've yet to touch

I'm awfully bored with playing console games right now, especially since I've been feeling a good art groove coming back since I finished HM:ToT.

And since the Holidays' been and gone -- ugh! I could never survive trying to be festive during the shortest day of the year.

I'm tied between finishing up commissions and starting new ones, but I'll try to stay focused. Sorry I haven't been prompt with them before the New Year, but we had a BITCH of a time last weekend. I intend to rectify that by going for a walk at Balboa Park sometime... by myself.

We saw The Princess and the Frog today, after much wheedling from me an' sis for the parents to come along and see it. "Buy guuuyyys! Lasseter produced this one, man! He KNOWS good story -- he won't mess this one up!"

I'm glad we were able to see it; I think there was more meat to that movie that I gave it credit for. I love how Tiana's main dream was to start a Cajun-style restaurant for his late daddy, since cooking is a partial passion for me, especially when I get it done RIGHT. Not a big fan of Cajun food, tho'; all spice with not much flavor to give it its culture, IMHO. But I love to try my hand at a bona-fied Marti Gras party when the real New Orleans gets back on their feet. The ones portrayed in the film is toned down, I think, since I've heard it gets a little bit more crazy than that, but if I can find a furry community that makes a day-trip over there, I'm joinin'. No better way to spend a day with a group of people you know you'll feel comfortable with

Movie's great, story great, and it's a small start to the era of the Disney Renaissance. Not gonna spoil it, though. But I gotta say: thank you so much, John Lasseter! And welcome back Walt Disney Studios!

Now sis wants us to see Avatar in an IMAX theater sometime soon

The Dear Journal section will be the default starter topic when I will be discussing my day's events, good and/or bad. Either that or I will be stating what is going to happen today. The topic can be either short and uneventful or long and complicated. You, the readers, will have the option to skip this section (especially if you don't wish to be informed of the drama I go through) and jump over to the more important DA-related topics. If I get to be too emotional and/or overreact, please let me know; I try to cut from the public emo-crap.

This is where I will be discussing creative art-related projects from traditional art to digital, arts and crafts, and maybe even some music sorting of my own for either personal or public entertainment. However, since DeviantArt is about art, there may be no discussion of music-related projects. Homework discussion on an artistic level on my part is optional.

And this is where I will be talking about some random topics of interests and concerns, from "political" discussions to off-beat questions that no mere poll could elaborate wen the answer demands additional details. I.E., I either talk about my favorite hobbies like games or convention, or I ask some outside opinion about the meaning of life (universe and everything) or any other philosophical brew-ha-ha. Think of it as a mini-forum, because as stubborn as I may act and as uncomfortable I may feel at times, I like having these random discussions with people. It helps me to expand my tolerance for diversity and define who I am as a person.

I say my peace/piece here and be done with it. Maybe even throw in some random, wordy, silly no-nonsense.
