i've been reading some nice stuff lately. i presented a work on Shakepeare's Ophelia and ended up reading A Room of One's Own by Virginia Woolf. it turns out the book is amazing - it is actually a lecture she gave in which she reflects about women and fiction, specially women writing fiction. well, if you like literature, i sugget you the book, it is a great reading.

some excerts:

Lies will flow from my lips, but there may perhaps be some truth mixed up with them; it is for you to seek out this truth and to decide wether any part of it is worth keeping. my monday started really well. very unusual, right? mondays always suck.
let me explain: my university has in its power a big part of the manuscripts of a big brazilian author, Caio Fernando Abreu. he is one of my favorites and his words have always touched me deeply. well, i'm happy to say that i was able to see and touch some of his manuscripts!!! such a special moment to have in my hands some of the papers he had in his!! try to think of someone you really admire and image you have the possibility of hold in your hands something this person made. anyway, i might sound dummie, but i don't care

first, i want to thank you because i noticed that i have over 20,000 visits to my page, and i do appreciate your support, lovely ones! i love dA everyday more!

then, i want to say sorry because i might be 'faving and running' for a while, even though i'll try to do my best to comment on everyone of your pieces/journals and and to answer you. my internet has been kinda crappy and i've been busy with college - i'm finishing that work on Tennyson, do you remember? - and i've got other things to do, too. so, i have to rush through dA, and there are days when i can't come over [i'm addicted, so you might figure how sad it is to me. ]
anyway, i appreciate your comments and favs, and this time i won't be thanking every single one of you as usual. sorry. i want to say a big THANK YOU ALL for your continued support. i really appreciate it, you know.

even though i'm running and busy trying to take the best out of everyday, i've been feeling sick too often - i have always suffered from headaches, but they are defenitely worst now. and also, i feel lonely. yes, i do. i have great friends [including you loved ones], amazing family, but i don't feel like i belong... well, i hope it is a phase only, kinda 'seasonal' stuff, because feeling empty is not that good - even for me, who like some drama...

i've been swamped, and yet i can't spend a day away from here.

just wanted to thank you all for your support on my works, it means so much to me!

question: have you already watched 'blindness', inspired by José Saramago's novel? i watched it last weekend and, man, you should watch it too! the story is about citizans, in this unknown city, who go blind - but it is a different kind of blindness: it is as white as milk. everybody is blind except for one woman. the film is a beautiful metaphor, strong one too, and you should be prepared to some powerful/striking images.
anyway, i just wanted to share, because i liked it very, very much! plus, the dvd version has this awesome making-of, and you can see Saramago [over his 80s] watching to the première, and really speechless. ^^

i'm preparing a presentation for my English Literature class about Alfred Lord Tennyson. i'd like to know if there's any of you who has an image inspired by one of his poems, and who would allow me to use it in my presentation. i will not redistribute it anywhere else, it's only for personal use. i myself may come up with something, but i'd like to show some different visions of his words.
