So Easter vacation is almost over. One day till I'm back to school.
Kinda nice 'cause we'll be checking our projects , but I need more vacation!Moar!

There is this stomach flu going on and I apparently *had* to have it, so
I've been in bed a whole 5 days with my stomach feeling upside down and high fever.
Now I'm recovering ,so all's good

I even missed the 13th International Comics Festival that took place in Gazi,Athens.It's a
shame really as I had planned to go..This fest was dedicated to Russian and Ukranian
comic artists,a presentation of Libanese comic artists, a big exhibition of Mexican
artist Patricio Betteo ,an exhibition of Greek artist Leandros and much much more.A few bands played as well, one of them is Dustbowl check them out

So I was watching tv the other day and I stumbled across this really interesting documentary type thing. Luckily it had a link at the end so I had to check it out. Found out it's a project by Yann Arthus-Bertrand who interviewes people around the globe about certain values in life, like love,family,liberty,money,anger etc. There were some testimonials,some experiences,some feelings I can relate to and some I can't at all. I'm surprised what some people have been through and how happily they can live with the little things they have..

I never really thought I'd be so excited watching the Olympics Opening Ceremony
but yeah I did. I have to admit the first time I intentionally did was 4 years ago
that it happened in Greece.The medias and everything had made such a fuss of the the opening
that I wanted to see what it's all about.Of course I loved it and that made me this year
switch channels and actually watch it.
It opened with the beating of fou drums which was really really impressive.I
can't really imagine the hard work these guys did to be so precise and synchronised.And
just when a large scroll unveiled and the performers were doing their thing I thought to
myself "it's like watching a chinese movie..so magical",that's when the greek presenter
said Zhang Yimou directed the whole thing.We really managed to take a peek on chinese
art and rich culture.

Generally it's been quite busy lately. Yesterday was my last lesson in Graphic Design before holidays, so now I can enjoy the Easter Holidays that are coming up.

Hope we go for a trip or something so I can get away from the big city life for a while (even though I love city life )

The last weeks I've been mostly spending time on my pc doing work and the last couple of days I've been working on a logo for a new company of natural gas called GasTech. Still haven't got just one finished piece as I'll let the client decide which one is best for him.

Saw HOSTEL by Eli Roth a month ago.

It wasn't on the theaters at the time so I bought it on pirate dvd cause I saw some trailers online and thought it would be a great movie. But no, it must be the most irritating movie I've seen lately and the first 20 minutes were a total boredom. There were just a few good scenes here and there but nothing more. The only thing I really liked was the photography and the 'rawness' of the image as it didn't have any super wow effects.

At least the site is visually very attractive and of my likes, so go check it out if you fancy!!

Maybe I see it some other time and then see it differently, even like it a lot!It sometimes happens to me to change my opinion only in movies,songs,bands. But that's even rare

So, any movies to recommend??

I have known her for years and it does capture something true to her nature with out feeling too posed. A major step in photography for me giving me the confidence to continue onwards. _{"I love this picture because that was the actual colour of the landscape, no toner, no manipulation. The lights in the ditance invite you in from this cold and dark world, like a fairytale adventure. Technically i think it suffers, but it still inspres me to this day; of what you can capture, even with a point and shoot camera sometimes. It's a histotrical piece for me and still remains loved by myself.

It's a vivid memory taking that picture with my first digital camera, a Kodak DC3200. A brick of a camera! We where heading from the hotel to the local off-licence, about 15 min walk if it had not been solid ice the entire way. But worth it for the wonderful grain spirit! One sip and instant extending corridor effect!"}

_{Hello all!! First I'd like to thank you for checking my page so far and for the lovely and thoughtful comments you've sent. In other words thank you for your interest!!

As you've noticed I've been away for more than a week as this was my exams week and I had lots of projects in progress for my presentation. Sooo, while you saw me on online mode this week and I didn't reply to your notes, doesn't mean I ignored you..I just wasn't on my desk!! I haven't checked my account for more than a week so bare with me.

All in all presentation went OKAY, I'm still learning about myself. Never thought I could do that great in Fine Arts Right now I'm studying Graphic design, Architectural and interior design, Fine Arts and History of Art so there's a lot of work to do.So, I'm heading on to the next semester with a whole more excitement and a whole lot more stress.

No, this is not a question regarding sexual matters. It's a question concerning one's fresh start in the graphic
design field and a somehow more permanent job.

I was trying to reach a good friend of mine, but couldn't find her for a week. When I finally got to talk with her, she apologized as she wasn't answering private line calls, trying to avoid her boss. The reason behind all this??
She had issues with him as he hadn't paid her through her whole 2 or 3 months she's been working there.

The story is: She's a graphic designer,graduated last semester and is hired to work at this fashion magazine,

which is well known in Europe at least,but I won't mention the name,cause that's not the point. Her first week there was actually a trial week to see if she's really interested to work there. First month and she wasn't paid, a fair amount of euros I must say. Second, and still not paid. She tried to contact him,but he was avoiding her. Frustrated as she was, she decided to find a lawer and work things out that way, the court's way. And then found out he had done this to 7 other designers who made their fresh start as well. Anyway,the good thing is she is finally paid half the money she deserves to be paid, but why did it have to be the hard way so that guy realised that being a businessman doesn't mean you have to use people!!

That's good news that she got paid finally as she avoided all the hassle with the court and such. It's such a shame though that there are still people using others who are just entering the design world..

Anyway, I'm still optimistic and I think that if one is good at his/her work will finally be rewarded.
