Senior year sucks, with a capital s. I have about 5 days to read 10 EBSCO articles (most which seem to be at least 15 pgs), 2 chapters in a book, another full book for an outline for my final research paper for one class, finish a book for another class, read some chapters of several others for my other classes, and find another topic to do for another research paper. Ont op of that I have to edit my manuscript to submit for my grad school applications, which I haven't gotten time to work on and I still need a personal essay for both and a critical essay for another. To say that I am stressed is an understatement of epic proportions. *sigh*
Also, money sucks, especially when you have bills to pay and your student loan company which is seriously retarded is trying to make you pay even more!
Bonus, I get to have a pretty Journal skin for once, and probably the only time I'll have one! I think DA should keep the free journal skins for not subscribed members; the premium members can get special ones, but we should at least get free ones too!

Because of all of said icky work above, I haven't gotten any writing done, at all since August that wasn't academic in nature. :( I have thought of new story ideas and where I want MAC (Mo Anam Cara) to go. I just hope I can get it out on paper the way I want! I've got new ideas for Kidnapped by Faeries, so if you're a fan of it in my gallery, be warned, there will be some big changes whenever I have a minute to write something I want to write. :mwahaha: And my roommate :iconluvbugbub03: is doing an illustration for me for it! :) I've seen bits of the lineart, and it's purty! (I like getting drawings, what can I say). I was going to hold a writing contest, but that will have to wait if anyone was looking forward to it, I'm sorry! I'm hoping to get more into some illustrations of my own, which probably won't happen too much until next semester when I get to take a studio art class. I can't decide which story I want to illustrate yet, so there will probably be a bunch of random ones, lol!

It's only the third week, and I've already got more homework than I have time for (currently I'm taking 6 300 level courses, all but one of which is reading heavy). And I've already made the decision to drop a class for the first time in my life. But, it's a boring one and I can always take another psych course over a winter semester. I am on track to graduate in May (there was some concern over that, which is why I have to take 6 classes this semester).
I'm also trying to get all of my stuff together to start applying for Grad school and practicing for the GRE.

In other words I'm this close to banging my head against a wall.

There's about 2 weeks left until my wedding, and my sewing machine decide to break while I was sewing my fiance's shirt and before I had the chance to remake my dress. :angered: Long story short- I ordered a dress...the sewing quality isn't too good and I feel silly in it...so I'm making a dress much more like my original idea out of some blue fabric I'd ordered for my fiance's shirt, but the colour wasn't the right one. So, yeah, with 2 weeks left, I'm still sewing away. Luckily I've been barely getting hours at work,like I've only worked weekends since I got back. So, I've got plenty of spare time on my hands Anyway, my bridal shower was today, and I quite enjoyed it! :D

MAC got a complete makeover, and I'm now much happier with it than I was with the original version. I had to take out some of the jokes, but there'll always be more! At least now people can tell the characters apart and I solved the triplet twin issue. Of course, you have no idea what I'm talking about, but some day, you may if I ever post it here. I'm not sure that I will, but I'll probably post snippets now and then as I work on it. It's much easier going and when I go through it I get the warm fuzzies of success :D :deviation:

We'hoping to get a lot of the stuff finished this week. We've already got ideas for our invites (we'll be finalising those next week) but we're sill struggling to figure out catering, and we really need to find an officiant, like, now! I need to figure out how to brooch the "i don't want to be walked down the aisle, thanks, but no thanks, dad" issue without causing some major family drama. And, I've got to sew like I've never sewn before tge everything done on time. :0_o: sooo much stuff to do!!!

School is going alright- I'm going to be a master student again in the fall, and this semester I'm on the editorial board for a new literary journal my creative writing class is doing, plus we're also doing a radio show Wednesday nights, and I've done that a couple of times as well(apparently I have a good radio voice...makes me really think I should look into voice acting :lol:). I also helped with some last minute costumes and fitting for the spring play. Thankfully, this second half will hopefully be slightly less busy, since the play was last week.

And in other news, we got a bunny yesterday. Her name is Daisy, and she's a pretty ginger brown colour! :)

Their program sounds decent, and they even offer a joint MFA/PHD degree, and require teaching as part of it. Sounds good, and they tell you what funding they offer right there on the page. However, they don't really give you a good idea of what sorts of classes you should have taken and can expect to take. So far, it's sounding like the best of the three.
All I have to say is, if grad schools want us to attend, then why the hell do they make the information on the programs so fricking hard to get?! This had better be worth the effort it's taking me to find something, or I'm going to be pissed when I"mm poor and have student loans and schooling to pay off.

And, as everyone knows the economy sucks... which means that despite a better paying job, we're still looking at having a difficult time keeping our apartment, and also at having our wedding. I'm half tempted (ok, maybe a little more than half) to go to the courts and just get hitched that way so that we can at least be married, even if we can't have the wedding. And I've changed my mind about my dress again... >< Planning a wedding during an economic recession= really fricking stressful!

Got a little bit more of MAC written, but it needs some good hard work revisions. I've got my new ID drawn, but I need to colour it still. Uhm, and I think that's about all I've gotten done in terms of artistic stuff. But, I will have some costume wok to post soon- I'm making the costumes for the important characters in this semester's play, Lysistrata. I"m hoping to find some nice accessories to go with them, and some good sturdy sandals to make into Gladiator shoes. I don't really get to pick the fabric or the pattern, but I'm still in charge of putting them all together! :D I'm pretty excited about it!
In not so great news, the economy and money sucks, and I'm having a hard time making ends meet. My fiance and I aren't sure how much longer we'll be able to keep our apartment. His job isn't going so well, and the other job he's suppose to have hasn't been giving him much work to do at all. So he's going to try to get a new job, and I'm going to try to get another on campus job. I'm a bit worried and stressed out about it, but I"m trying to think optimistically. So far, it's not really working well. But now I have my dress to distract me, so maybe that'll keep me occupied.

And now she has corrupted me into reading, and adoring them. I just finished Twilight this morning after my ethics class (which, I remember very little of, concerned as I was for the entire hour and a half that I wasn't reading about what the hell was going to happen when Bella met Edward's family).
My theory; hate 'em if you want to, but they're still rather enjoyable, if they are seemingly immature at moments. Is the writing great- no, neither was Tolkien's and look how many people are rabid LotR fans (myself included). Is the topic anything new- nope, vampires date back centuries. But the way the author takes a very, very familiar being (two actually, she also conquers werewolves) and creates something very different and unique about them is particularly interesting. Perhaps because I'm a master student for a class looking into why our subconscious has developed and maintained such creatures as vampires, werwolves, etc I'm taking a completely different stance on reading them. Or maybe I just really need a new hobby. You want to call me crazy for enjoying them and being a fan like I know a lot of people around here have been doing to fanart of the books, fine. But keep it to yourself, people. Everyone is entitled to their own odd taste on books or movies, so just back off attacking people's prefernces. It just makes you look the more immature, even if we are the ones reading books meant for pubescent girls. Books are books-don't like it, then don't read it, simple as cake! It's very irritating to see people get so hostile about this, and ridiculously defensive about these books being "the next Harry Potter" (not going into details about whose sites I've seen these comments on-the artists didn't make them, people trying to start a comment war did). So it's ok to be rabidly defensive of a children's series, but not ok for people enjoying another series to be just as attached? I'm sensing a double standard. ;) Lighten up people; they're just books.


And now I am off of my soapbox and going to go read more since I can't force myself to read my horribly boring ethics homework and manage to stay awake.

And we'll be a year away from our wedding!! :boogie:!! So it'll be a pretty busy but exciting summer!

I plan on working on MAC whenever I can. I may be short on hours at work, so I might have to pick up another job, but I'll still write, don't worry! :) If I get a chance, I'll be posting pics of costumnes I've made, a couple whihc may be for sale. I'm not sure yet; I may just ship them off to the Salvation army along with a bunch of other clothes and other junk I don;t need when I'm in the moving process!

In other news, I will be submitting what I have of the first chapter of MAC to my creative writing class to be work shopped (critiqued/edited) for this Wednesday's class, so that will hopefully be posted within the next couple of weeks. After I recover from what could potentially be harsh comments. I'm so nervous about it!! I doubt anyone in the class (of like 30 people) will understand the meaning behind anything, nor will they enjoy it. I worry about stuff like that a little too much though, so I'm probably tweaking over nothing! ^^;

I've narrowed down my choices of wedding dress to 2: This one is winning a little more I think, ony because it's pretty and shiny (and a little cheaper) [link] but I also like this one because it's simple and if I want to do embroidery on it, I can without having to take off trim [link] Both have disadvantages and advantages and I'm trying to make my mind up. Feel free to leave your opinion! OH, and I'd be getting it in blue, 'cause I like blue! :D
And I don't have much to add in terms of writing, since I haven't gotten much work done on MAC, my project with =luvbugbub03 and we've only had a poetry assignment in creative writing and I'm bad at poetry. :blushes: But we get to rewrite a fairytale, so be on the lookout for my version of Rapunzel! (and probably eventually a couple of other fairytale rewrites because they're fun! XD)
And that's about all i have to say. Other than on Thursday my sister should be getting a sonogram so that I can hear my mother babble about her baby even more than normal any time I talk to her.... :sarcasticclap: I really feel like telling her :stfu: but that's a whole 'nother topic that that I won't bore you all with.

Oh, and creating playlists to go with your stories is so much Fun!! :excited: :giggle: *sings random songs* :sing:

8) I will remember to do my homework as soon as I get it, or I'll never get it done!

9) I will try not to get too carried away looking at wedding stuff...:blushes:

10) I will not stay up until 1:30 in the morning or later watching Disney movies...( Like I did a couple of days ago watching the Hunchback of Notre Dame, which I could so swear I though there was part where Esmerelda was in a dungeon, but I haven't seen that movie in about 10 years, when it was in theatres...)

So i hope everybody has a great year. Mine is going to be one full of change I think. My sister's having a baby in July (as long as she doesn't have it call me Aunt Mandy, I'm good) and my fiance and I will be getting an apartment right around the same time. Who know what else may happen, but I get a feeling 2008 is going to be a big year for changes. Hopefully they'll all be good ones, for everybody! :D

I'm over being moody, even though my scanner still sucks, and my doodles aren't coming out the way I want them too, and my hours at work are ridiculously few in the next 2 weeks. Hey, I go back to school in about 3 weeks, away from my grumpy mom & dad, and back where there's always someone to talk to! And a nice working scanner just a couple minute's walk away! :) So, I'm doing alright, now that Christmas and New Year's are over.

I'm working more on the first chapter of my project with =luvbugbub03 and it's coming along fairly well. I'll admit, I'm more in a doodly mood than a writing mood, especially since i just saw the Golden Compass the other day! :w00t: Expect fanart, because I love that book, and the movie was spiffy!!!! And it'd be uber spiffy to have a daemon! But, I'm back to working on the main part of the story (though, I keep thinking ahead to random short stories, but that's ok...;))

My roomie and partner in crime =luvbugbub03 is doing artrades, and we would both love if people wanted to draw fanart of our characters from our project, Mo Anam Cara.

Anyone know of any good scanners that aren't too expensive? I've got an HP something or other.

And I'm peeved because whenever I try for more than a doodle, it looks like s%$t! :pout: And I'm tired, and I've got writer's block for the main part of my story with =luvbugbub03 and I still have to work another day before I get a day off, and if one more little kid plays with the freaking New Year's noise-makers we've got at work, I think I might go more crazy than I was to start with. :crazy:

And I'm bored, and I miss my friends, and I want to go do something fun!!!

Sorry to bore you all with my frustrated rant, but .......yeah.....

In conclusion, do not buy a $30 scanner and expect it to work well for more than a year, and do not stay up till midnight attempting to doodle...it will not look pretty. And, working for 11 out of 14 days in a row sucks major monkey arse...... :cry:

In other news, I happily managed to scrape up a 2.92 for the semester and a 2.97 cumulative GPA. Considering I was having a wicked hard time in one of my electives, I'm pretty happy with that! But, my parents will be angry...and their internet still sucks, but I will be installing internet onto my laptop, and hopefully it will run faster on there! :D
