Okay, so I know I've been MIA - really I've had an excuse!! I was pregnant with a really rough pregnancy, and had a wedding to plan (that happened on 10/4 - I promise I'll put up some pictures)...then I had my son, Niall Aiden, via emergency C-section on 11/10 - almost a month early....taking care of him has basically worn me right out...

so that's the basic update....we're getting ready for Niall's first Yule/Christmas...I promise, many pictures to come!!!





This past Friday, 7/11/08, was the Rush concert at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, NH. We hosted a BBQ/party the day of the show for our friends who were also attending the party, called, The Granite Grady - after the Garden Grady event in NYC last year.

We got to the show, thoroughly enjoyed the first set, went and got our Rush swag during intermission, went back to our seats, and just as the second set was starting, one of my good friends came up to our seats - he was amazingly in the same section - saying that he forgot to give me my late mother's day present -- three tickets in the section directly stage left (ie. Geddy's side), about 15-20 feet from the stage!!! So we REALLY enjoyed the second set - and I got some pretty decent shots there too - to be submitted to dA at a later date - many shots, have to edit them -- along with some videos of the show as well!

The Monday before the show, I had sent a t-shirt that I had made especially for our baby's first Rush show (Mansfield, 6-15-08) to the Verizon Wireless Arena, care of Rush, asking them to sign it for me.

Well, I got the shirt back in the mail on Monday -- unsigned. I was a little disappointed until I realized that also enclosed in the package was THIS:

The 2008 S&A tourbook - that THEY sent to me - and it was signed by all three of them!!

So...yeah - I've had a pretty awesome week! I have a bunch of show pictures, along with some fireworks shots from the 4th that I'll be working on when I have a little extra time and submitting

So May has brought a lot of new things...what I alluded to in my previous journal I still cannot reveal, but know this - I will reveal all the week of May 25th

I finally got myself a new camera - better than I expected. The Canon Powershot G9...that I LOVE. It's absolutely greater than I expected. Wonderful options, manual mode, RAW capability, and you can purchase lenses, and an external flash for it as well...it's fantastic and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to get a camera that is as close to an SLR as you can buy without spending over $1000.

I have also made a very important decision: I'm going back to school. Starting July 14th this year, I'm going to start online schooling to get my diploma in Residential Design through The Art Institute of Pittsburg. I am VERY excited for this, as I've wanted this for a very long time.

Hi all Long time, no journal update LOL Been very busy....I got a new job, working for the Mental Health Center of Greater Manchester....that's been, er...interesting to say the least LOL The best news is that on January 31st we are moving into a townhouse at Windsor Terrace in Hooksett (right up the road) It's really a very nice place, with a full basement which means that hopefully will be able to play his lovely again - so long as, with the sound proofing we put up, it doesn't bother our new neighbor LOL

Rush has added a 2008 leg to their tour, and I am hopefully going to get a new camera (Canon Powershot SD 870IS) before the tour starts - so I'm psyched for both of those events

First things first, I want to thank my friend `nyssi for putting together and coding my new Journal CSS!!

Things have been kinda crazy lately - the idiots above us in this ridiculous excuse for a "Luxury Apartment Community" decided to violate the terms of their lease by having a freestanding washing machine at the end of their hallway - with the draining hose going into their bathtub - and then just hanging on the floor of the hallway

So we had major water damage in our hallway ceiling - and we even had a mushroom growing where water had dripped into the carpet...



Now a large portion of our hallway ceiling has been removed, along with the 12"H of the baseboard of the walls. They were treated with some kinda bleach to kill the mold and bacteria and they'll be in tomorrow to start patching things back up....joy. Well, at least it's kinda fixed.

Friday was my (ugh) 30th birthday - but I got a very nice (slightly belated) birthday present. I went on a job interview Friday, and I got the call -- I start Monday, and it's only about 5 minutes away from my apartment

So that's my news - hopefully I'll have some extra time soon to take and submit some new photos

This is probably going to be long, so grab yourself a drink and settle in for a LONG recounting A lot of these names won't mean much to any of the dA peeps - unless you're TRF peeps as well

Day 1

We left ManchVegas around 9:00 Sunday morning to head down to Tortoise & Hare's house. We got there roughly around 12:00 and had lunch, then we went out to Horseneck Beach to do some dune walking and shoreline walking...

We all thought this was really kewl - looks kinda like a tree:

When we got back from the beach it was about 5:30....so we sat around the kitchen table and talked for a bit longer....around 7:00 we went out for dinner at this AWESOME restaurant called the Healthy Grille - they have all different kinds of food there - for us omnivore's and for vegetarians....I got steak tips...and they were the BEST steak tips I've ever had! We got back from the restaurant at about 9:30....then Hare & I started on making our signs for the show:

There is a story behind that second sign, but I'll get to that in a second

Day 2

We got up at 7:00am and we all showered. Tortoise & Hare had already been up since 6:00am, out feeding the chickens We got on the road at 9:00am on the nose - I was very proud of us, I was aiming on leaving around 9:30 So we get down to the Milford Train Station, and couldn't find any parking - we ended up missing the 12:07 train cause of lack of parking....so we finally found a spot, and got on the 1:07 train in - we were officially on our way to The Garden, Grady™!!!! Tortoise had loaded all 19 studio albums and MFH into their iPod, so we listened to that on shuffle the entire way there with a four way splitter for the headphones!!

We got to Grand Central at about 2:45(ish) - I didn't really look at the time - we we're all too excited lol - and went up to the main concourse to meet up with Spike, Necro & CeeJ. The pictures actually didn't start until we were out above ground (after the most amazing pizza I've ever had in my LIFE - thanks Necro & CeeJ!!!).

**SLIGHT UPDATE TO INCLUDE PICTURES**

Okay, so a lot has happened over the past month and a half. Some know about it, other's don't....to start off with, can I just tell you how PSYCHED I am about the Madison Square Garden show coming up in 17 Days!!! Not only do I get to see my favorite band play AGAIN this tour, but I get too meet a whole slew of my friends from The Rush Forum beforehand! So I've been on a natural high the past few days as the show is getting closer

Things around here have been kind of crazy, weird, happy, sad, and exciting. To start, at the beginning of August, I found out that I was 5 weeks pregnant...unfortunately about 4 days after I found out, I miscarried Thankfully I was only 5 weeks along, and just getting used to the idea that I was pregnant, or I think I would have totally lost it. So, Dave & I, having just gotten used to the fact that we were going to be parents, started planning ahead - that we definitely want to try to have a baby again...and that we should get married. So he proposed...in a rather unorthodox way - but a very sweet way You can see the actual proposal here: [link]

So we are planning on two weddings, one will be in the family church for our more Christian relatives benefit with a small reception following in the parish hall across the way. The other ceremony will be a Celtic Handfasting that will be held in the back field of where my farm used to be in Center Tuftonboro. This is our "True" ceremony and the one that will really mean the most to us. We are dressing in medieval garb for the wedding - Dave will be in a kilt, and I will be in a dress that I will make (hopefully with some help LOL). We've tentatively set a date for early October of 2008. I'll keep you all posted on that

I finally dumped my POS Dodge Stratus R/T - I loved that car, but it was a money pit. I was finally able to get approved, with my dad as a co-signer, for a mini-van - Yes, LakesideMaiden is driving around in a "Soccer-Mom Mobile" LOL. It has more room, roof racks, and will come in handy when we DO have a child

We managed to get free tix to the Rush show Mohegan (which was amazing!)...I have some pics from the show that I'll upload soon

While we were at the Mohegan show, we met some really kewl peeps from both The Rush Forum and The Rush DC Hub, including this awesome couple, Judy & Jay, and through their amazing generosity and friendship, they are taking us (free again!) to see Rush in NYC at Madison Square Garden on 9-17!!!!!!!!!

Geddy Lee is in the crowd at the Red Sox/Blue Jays game! Gotta luv the Ged

There's not too much new going on except that my computer is slowly being brought back to life! Ordered a 400gig hard drive OEM, have my old drive enroute back to Western Digital for a warranty replacement - the old one is completely fried...but when all is said and done, I'll have roughly 640gigs in the PC alone, not to mention my 260gig external! That's almost a Terrabyte! Yeehaw!

The benefit went well - my voice was kinda shot from practicing on the way down, but I managed to get through it sounding okay ~dmmdrums video-taped it, I'll see if I can upload it so y'all can see it

One last announcement, my best friend and pagan sister, Kimmy, just had a baby girl on Saturday. Her name is Abigail Lillian born Saturday April 14, 2007 at 5:15am. 7lbs 1oz & 20"L

OMG...the most awesome thing just happened...my sister (~WhiteRavnCreations) just emailed me to tell me she got us tickets to go see Heart at the Banknorth Pavilllion (Boston, MA) on 9/28!!! She got 8 tickets, so it'll be her, her ex-husband, me, ~dmmdrums, my brother & sister-in-law, our friend Kyle, and one more person TBD....woohoo!! HeartMongers going to see Heart together!!!

So, I'm going to see Rush in June and Heart in September, and hopefully I'll be making a trip up north to Ottawa at the end of October to stay with my best friend and celebrate our 30th birthdays together!

Well, lets just say that it's been an interesting week.

To begin with, I got my Rush tickets for the Mansfield, MA/Tweeter Center show. I know, I probably sound rather blase about it, but I really am quite excited to go

There's this contest that goes along with the presale, you could possibly win one of 5 autographed tourbook sets, or you could win the grand prize - a meet & greet with Rush...probably Alex & Geddy, as Neil is uncomfortable in those types of settings (fawning fans, hero worship and all that).....and holy flying cow patties, that would be amazingly incredibly awesome...*sigh*

Now for my not so happy/really quite horrible news...

Tuesday, on my way to work, my car ceased to work. It shut off of it's own accord, then wouldn't allow me to shift from Neutral to, well, anything. Thankfully, I don't work that far away from where I live, so my walk to work (leaving the car blocking a lane of traffic, as I don't own a connected cell phone anymore) was only about 5 minutes. Thankfully when I got in there, my boss suggested she call AAA to have the car towed - I will be forever in her debt for doing this for me - to the nearest service station.

To make a long story a little shorter, the car was dropped off at the garage, I got back to work just in time to go online and get my Rush tickets, the phone rang shortly after, and the mechanic told me the horrible news: what I thought wasn't going to be horribly serious (fuel pump or something like that), turned out to be my transmission.

The guy made a few calls and got me quotes of $3300 (rebuilt w/an 18K mi/18 mo warr) & $2600 (used with 67K miles on it, with a 12K mi/12 mo warr). He suggested I try looking around for a better deal. So I called my bro, who actually suggested calling up Aamco - said, you never know, they might be cheaper. So I called them, they quoted me $2518 on a factory rebuilt transmission with a 3 yr/36K mi warr. They said they wouldn't proceed with the actual work until they ran diagnostics on it as well. Well, they did, and there were a whole butt-load of errors.

So I went ahead (after speaking with my amazing parents who are helping me out with the money to pay for this while feeling incredible debilitating guilt over what I had bought that morning ) with having Aamco replace my transmission. I called them today for a status check and to find out if they did tune-ups as well. They did. I asked the general manager (with whom I have a nice repoire now) if there was any chance (due to the exorbitant amount of money I was spending to have them rebuild my transmission) that they could cut me a deal on the tune-up. He said, well, a tune-up usually includes (this this this this and this - I can't remember what he said LOL), but he figured they could do it for me and bury it in the paperwork...

I was honestly just looking for a decent price discount - but now I'm getting a much needed tune-up for free! So this makes me feel a bit better about this whole screwed up situation...

So that's the news from me.

Well, I was a little worried that I wouldn't be able to renew my subscription today, but we managed to get enough money together for it

Not a lot has been going on recently. I put in a ton of overtime at work the past 2 weeks...94 hours....so I'm a wee bit tired...but happy at the lovely extra $ I'm bringing in

Went to a Walmart Supercenter in Amherst, NH today. Those things are crazy...where else can you find a GIGANTIC almost 10 lb lobster (), clothing and a car air filter.... unbelievable...though I think some of the prices are pretty good for the food, so we may be doing a lot of our food/h&ba items at that particular Walmart LOL

The Bruins have been playing rather abominably this game. Their skating and passing has been terrible....but they just scored 2 goals in one minute (Savard, then Boyes), to make it 5-2 in favor of the Panthers. They've had our number this entire season. We have no problems against the other Florida team, the Tampa Bay Lightning....6-2 win last night, coming off a 4 game winning streak, including a 3-0 shutout against the Toronto Maple Leafs (sorry )...so here's to hoping they get another 4 goals in the next 23 game minutes so that they'll continue that streak!

*UPDATE* The Bruins are now trailing 7-2...those goals to even things up, and take the lead (now would be 6....) don't look like they are going to happen with only 12 minutes left in the 3rd...

Not too much else...waiting on the results of the God/Goddess contest with .

Good Morning deviants!

Tis a bright, brisk February day here in Manchester, NH. Not too much is new on my end. My friend is working on coding a new Journal CSS for me - wait til you see it! I've entered a contest with , God/Goddess contest. This is my entry:



This is Canola, the Celtic Goddess of Music. She is one of the oldest Celtic deities. Legend tells that while walking along the ocean’s shore she was enchanted by beautiful ephemeral music carried on the wind. Determined to find the source of the music she followed it to the vast skeleton of a whale lying on the beach. She realized that it was the wind beating upon the dried sinews stretched between the ribs of the whale that created the music. This inspired her to create Ireland’s long cherished symbol, the harp.

I found the images I used through the stock accounts of and . I worked on this approximately 3 hours last night, and I'm pretty happy with the results

So thats about it for me.

I start with ADP on Tuesday. It's another temp assignment, but it will go for about 2-4 months. It's not much, but it's something that will get us through until I can find something else

I'm wicked happy for one of my close friends, . He and his wife we're just blessed with a baby boy yesterday

At the library again....

Okay, so Calvin is doing MUCH better. He had a 103 degree (F) temp, but they hydrated him and gave him some Clavamox (kitty Ammoxacillin (sp?)) and he is back to his old self...He also lost 6 pounds since his last vet visit!! He was 22lbs, now he's 16!!!

Our phone and internet will be back up on Saturday! I'll finally be able to spend some time on here!! YEY!!! xD

Well, so begins yet another depressing cycle in my life. Found out that my so-called Temp to Perm job is not going Perm after all. They hired someone internally and she is starting here on January 2....So now begins the frantic search for something to start at the beginning of the year, which is going to be extremely difficult up here.

I'm sorry, guys, I really don't mean to complain. I've just been extremely depressed today, and needed some kind of outlet to let out some of my frustrations...

wow..well, I turned 29 today. I really don't feel any different - though, supposedly you're only as old as you feel, and I'm still acting 18 lol It's weird not having a phone, though. I'm used to getting calls from my family wishing me Happy Birthday - and from my brother, a Slappy Myrthday...and now they can't get ahold of me. Okay, so after 6 months of searching, I finally have a job Its temp to perm, but I'm working my ass off so that I'll go permanent. Things are finally starting to ACTUALLY look up. I'll be 29 in 10 days..ugh..oh well, a birthday is a birthday, right? But at least I'll have a few things to celebrate other than getting older Anywho, this means that we should be getting back online in our own house (for as most of you know, my only connection to the World Wide Web is through a crappy Windows98 PC at the Manchester City Library...) very soon

Yesterday was the 14th Annual Country Jamboree to benefit the American Liver Foundation - a benefit I perform at every year. It went well, did a couple songs, saw a few friends I haven't seen in forever, and got to spend a WHOLE DAY with my parents - all in all had a great time

Lately I've been doing some more intellectual reading. I recently read Anthem and Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand - absolutely FANTASTIC novels. Anthem is very short - only about 100 pages...that one took me all of about 6 hours to read, but the subject line of novel is what Neil Peart based the lyrics to the song 2112 on. Atlas Shrugged is an 1168 page book that took me 3 weeks and a necessary renewal at the library to read. But though it took me longer than most, the book spurred me to read more of Ayn Rand's books. Very Very good reading - I recommend it to anyone with a wish to broaden their minds a bit

Well, attempting to get back on our feet. I had two interviews with the company I was temping with a few weeks back. Will hear back sometime next week. went long-term on the temp assignment he's been working at, so that's some income til I get a job too. Our internet is still out, finding means to get online when & where we can...Phones were both shut off (our cells and the house line - that went with the cable & internet). My car was almost reposessed, but thanks to my parents (yet again) and Karen, the nice lady at DCU, they were willing to work with me to set up a payment plan for what I owe them (past due). We were almost evicted - went to court yesterday to find out they had dismissed the case because we paid our backpay from July and worked out a payment plan for August....So while things still really suck for us, things are starting to look up. I'm trying to remain positive and (to quote June Carter Cash) to Keep on the Sunny Side of Life. So everyone keep up with the for us, cause it seems to be working! Miss everyone so much!

Well, life truly sucks. About a month ago my internet was cancelled. I'm on a library PC right now writing this to you all. 1 and a half of my hard drives in my computer are fried - so now my uncle is trying to extract that info from them before I even get my PC back oh yeah, and I'm like 2 steps away from eviction. BUT things are looking up. I started a temp assignment today and I won my unemployment appeal, so we have some money coming in and HOPEFULLY I'll be able to get back online within the next month....keep your fingers crossed folks, and I'll check back in when I can!

An Irishman , a Mexican and a Blonde Guy were doing construction work on scaffolding on the 20th floor of a building.

They were eating lunch and the Irishman said, "Corned beef and cabbage! If I get corned beef and cabbage one more time for lunch, I'm going to jump off this building."

The Mexican opened his lunch box and exclaimed, "Burritos again! If I get burritos one more time I'm going to jump off, too."

The blonde opened his lunch and said, " Bologna again! If I get a bologna sandwich one more time, I'm jumping too."

The next day, the Irishman opened his lunch box, saw corned beef and cabbage, and jumped to his death.

The Mexican opened his lunch, saw a burrito, and jumped, too.

At the funeral, the Irishman's wife was weeping.

3) I take so much cream in my coffee that my father calls it melted coffee ice cream

4) I have to pee so often (due to the one kidney) that on my last trip up to Canada, my best friend complained (when I had to go again) that she could still see the sign from the last gas station we stopped at!

5) I've been playing guitar for over 22 years, and I still can only play chords - know nothing about notes or scales.
